BRING BACK THE GOOD EGG ROLLS!! i am so disappointed with this remodel and "revamp". as soon as i walked in and it had weird art and modern style decor i know it was going to be a trip. we have been coming here for at least 15 years... the hot and sour soup was goopy and not very hot or sour. all of our plates were mostly onions. the only positive i have is that the fried rice is an improvement in my opinion. now the egg rolls... my family and i would come here and just get the eggs rolls and soup. the eggs rolls were half the size and complete mush in the middle. honestly it looked like weird chicken salad in the middle. won't be coming back here again. and it hurts my soul to say that.

First off, their website is janky as their menu page is a poorly taken picture of their actual menu instead of it being actually listed out like every other restaurant menu. They really need to change that. Note that despite its small nature, it's a sit down restaurant. So we sat down and never got service. So instead, I just went to the front desk to order to-go. They have lunch specials from 11:00am-4:00pm. I got the orange beef with no onions; lunch specials come with two fried wontons, a small cup of fried rice, and an egg roll. This cost me $13.17. The fortune cookie, fried wontons, and egg roll all tasted stale. The orange beef (which somehow still tasted like chicken) was the best part of the meal and the fried rice was average. Just like the workers forgot that we were customers when we sat down, I too feel like the food here is forgettable.

I had the Singapore Rice Noodle dish and it was spot on. So, so good. I only wish they had the banana crisp like the other location but I can't get the Singapore Mei Fun at the 35th Ave location. Hard to decide which one is better! Service was flawless. I will forever alternate between their 2 locations.

beef broccoli, chicken chow mein and large side of rice we had crab puffs too but we ate that

You order, pay at the counter and grab your beverage from the refrigerator. Your meal is packed in styrofoam so you either take out or eat in at one of the few tables inside. Parking is very easy because they are at the end of a strip mall in a big parking lot. Our food was very fresh. Portions were very large. The chicken in our dishes was masterfully moist and very tender. The food is a very good value if you like it. We ordered the yui shan chicken and the garlic chicken combos (only around $1. more to get soup, crab puff, egg roll and an upgrade from white rice to fried rice.) Based on only trying two dishes my conclusion is that they serve Arizona Style American Chinese Food. It is far less complex, less flavorful, and much less spicy than east coast American take out Chinese Food. It's not bad food in anyway so if you are from Arizona it is very good food. We started eating at the restaurant but I got the idea that I could take the food home and improve it for my taste. The food stayed piping hot and it did taste much better with just a spoonful of chili crisp added more flavors and some needed heat. The people working there seemed very nice and the restaurant looked sparkling clean. 3 stars is a positive review and means A-OK on Yelp. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is amazing. Our food came out in record time, but was still hot and tasted of high quality! I recommend coming during their lunch times, I came on a Sunday and they still offered their lunch menu. The lunch menu plates are huge! They come with your entree, soup, chow mein, rice, a crab ragoon, and an egg roll. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp and it was delicious. It had a slight kick, bit it wasn't too spicy. The shrimp was cooker perfectly, mot rubbery. My favorite was the egg drop soup, it had tofu in it and it was addictive. I definitely recommend checking George and Sons out!

To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.
