The falafel, accompanied by garlic tahini and avocado tzatziki, was a hit for its perfect execution, while the potatoes were decent but didn't steal the spotlight. The Grilled Halloumi stole the show for me with its saltiness beautifully offset by Medjool dates, pomegranate seeds, and chimichurri sauce. Aba completely rocked my world! I came here for a work dinner, having made a reservation several weeks in advance. First off, the interior was beautiful. I loved the lanterns and greenery, paired with otherwise dim lighting. The energy was lively but quiet enough to have a conversation. Our server was also phenomenal! I wish I'd gotten her name, but she was tall and blonde, and incredibly helpful. For drinks, I opted for a glass of Tempranillo, which was excellent. We then ordered a bunch of plates to share between the 4 of us - Whipped Feta, Beef Brisket Hummus, Brussels Sprouts, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, and Grilled Chicken Kebab. Every single item was insane! The Whipped Feta is something I'll dream about for weeks to come, the Beef Brisket Hummus was awesome, and the Brussels Sprouts were perfect in both texture and flavor. I'm super picky with crab cakes, but their Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes were some of the best I've ever had. Sadly, I couldn't fully appreciate the Grilled Chicken Kebab because I was too full by that point. But we simply couldn't leave without trying dessert! We ordered the Sticky Date Cake and Chocolate Chocolate Cake. For me, the Sticky Date Cake was unbelievable! It was absolutely delicious, especially paired with the house-made whipped cream. The food was Good and the atmosphere was so perfect. It has cute little couch areas and a huge outside patio with heaters. We got the salmon kebab, short rib hummus, Brussels sprouts and skirt steak. It was the perfect amount of food for 2 people and we still had room for dessert. The rice was super plain but still good and the food wasn't anything spectacular. I felt like altogether, the ambience and food was something I'd go back for, but not one of my top favorite restaurants in Austin. The short rib hummus was good- but the hummus was under seasoned and the short ribs were a little over cooked. It did say "crispy" but it didn't really taste like much. The waiter was not personable at all and the hostess was not really nice. The The tables did not have people 6 feet apart... our neighbors were about 3 feet... and I watched waiters re-fold the blankets that they had that were used by previous customers. I think using outdoor blankets that were shared are gross, even without covid, but I would have expected covid to warrant them to clean their blankets in between customers. But I did see that customers requested to be seated elsewhere because it was too close, and they did accommodate them. I certainly will be back, but depending on your comfort level, you may want to be specific about where you sit.
