Our quote went from $5,200 to OVER $10,500--the DAY BEFORE our scheduled move. That alone should tell you why I would never recommend AB Moving Services. They booked us at one price, then changed moving companies and tried to more than DOUBLE the cost at the last possible moment. When your house is packed and your relocation is planned, what realistic options do most people have? In my opinion, this felt like a bait-and-switch designed to leave us cornered. Their explanation was that we had extra boxes and totes. What they conveniently overlooked was that we had also REMOVED a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and several other large items from the move. If pricing is supposedly based on cubic feet, those substantial reductions should count too. Their explanation did not justify an increase of more than $5,300. AB also failed to clearly explain when we booked that they were simply a broker. The day before our move, we were told White Gold Moving and Storage, operating as Cheetah Movers, would be handling our belongings. When we looked into that company, we found an F rating with the BBB and alarming customer reviews. This was supposedly AB's "best option." My interaction with the carrier's owner/dispatcher, Eli, made things even worse. He cursed at me over the phone and was extremely rude and unprofessional. That is the person AB selected to entrust with our household belongings. Then there was the deposit. When I booked, I was told it was fully refundable. When we canceled after the last-minute price increase, they pointed to language buried in the paperwork saying it was immediately nonrefundable. What I was told to secure my booking and what they relied on when I wanted to cancel were two completely different things. We canceled within three days of signing the revised paperwork. Rather than accept a demand for more than double the original quote, we found another option. We ultimately used U-Pack and had a great experience. My only regret is giving AB Moving Services our money and trust in the first place. A last-minute carrier change, a price increase of over 100%, an abusive dispatcher, and contradictory statements about the deposit--this was our experience with AB Moving Services. Moving is stressful enough without this treatment. Avoid AB Moving Services. I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone. read more

Avoid this company. I paid around $3,000 for an interstate move from Massachusetts to NYC and ended up receiving less than half of the move I paid for, with zero accountability from the company afterward. The carrier they arranged was supposed to make two pickups with same-day delivery. I was given an 11am to 3pm pickup window. After repeatedly calling throughout the day trying to get an ETA, the movers finally arrived around 5:30pm. By then, the storage facility containing approximately half of my belongings, including ALL of my large furniture, was closed. They demanded I pay the full price for the move. I arrived at my NYC apartment around 11pm with less than half my belongings and none of my furniture from storage. I still tipped the drivers because I didn't blame them personally for the company's scheduling and communication failures. But afterward, I had to take time off work, rent a U-Haul, drive back to Massachusetts, and move the rest myself. After paying thousands of dollars for what they advertise as the "fastest and easiest" way to move, I literally had to pay more money to finish the job myself. Their customer service made the experience even worse. During the move, I repeatedly called trying to figure out where the movers were and received dismissive, unhelpful responses. Afterward, I spent weeks trying to resolve the situation directly and requested a 50% refund. Their response was that pickup windows are "estimates." Of course I understand that. My complaint isn't that the movers were late and I was inconvenienced. They were so late that approximately HALF OF THE MOVE I PAID FOR COULD NOT HAPPEN. They eventually told me they were investigating the situation with the carrier. Then they stopped responding to my emails. I've now had to pursue this through the BBB, an FMCSA complaint, and next a small claims court. All of this could have been avoided if the company had simply taken responsibility and offered a reasonable resolution for a job that was only partially completed. Delays happen. Charging someone the full price for a $3,000 move when your delay prevents half of it from happening, leaving them to rent a truck and finish the job themselves, and then ignoring their attempts to resolve it is something else entirely. Save yourself the headache, the money, and the risk. Look elsewhere. read more

Hired this "company" to do a move from Colorado Springs to Oregon. Seemed great during the first call. The quote was for a few hundred more than the U-haul I was going to get so we said yes and gave them a detailed list of our belongings. The next call, the price doubled and I said no. Then the scam began. The deposit is not refundable for any reason (including them not doing the job). They will try over and over again to try to get you to say you want to cancel, which lets them off the hook. We ended up having to call the police on the "driver" they hired. No company t-shirt, no business card...nothing. He wanted me to go to the bank and withdraw $1500 cash to pay him! Ridiculous scam company! Do not hire. I have a lawyer involved and am looking for others to start a class action lawsuit if we don't get some kind of refund! read more

Like everyone post here you can see this is a business they run off of lying to you upfront and making your move more difficult than it needs to be. They will give you a reasonable offer up front ad then at pick up they won't pick up your stuff untill you pay them more money than your initial quote. They'll say that your stuff will take more space then originally quoted. The actual movers are they only kind and reasonable people in the process. I asked the mover how much space my stuff took up and he said 300-400 square feet and then when I told him they quoted me 750 he got cagey and said he did not want to get in trouble. You can't estimate the square footage yourself because they'll tell you that it will be reshuffled at the warehouse. The customer service person is the worst by far save your breath and energy, she does not gaf about your satisfaction she'll tell you that you'll get a call back and never will. Moving is stressful as it is and this company will only make it harder. Strong suggestion to stick to PODs and UHAUL containers and pay for people to put your stuff in the POD. read more

WARNING: Avoid AB Movers - Cherry Hill Road, Haddonfield, NJ Using AB Movers for a move from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts resulted in deceptive pricing, severe delays, and extortive payment demands. Do not trust this company or their representative, Greg. Key Details and Evidence of Unprofessional Conduct: Bait-and-Switch Pricing: The initial quote was $1,800 for 9 boxes, a queen bed, a bureau, a sofa, a coffee table, and a TV stand. Even after removing the sofa from the inventory, AB Movers inflated the price to $2,400 on pickup day, forcing an unfair decision under time constraints. Unexplained Delivery Delays: Belongings were expected the same day (Tuesday), but movers placed them in storage without a clear delivery timeline. Delivery was delayed by three days until Friday which we were not told about ahead of time. The expectation was that they would pick up the furnishings and head straight to delivery in MA. Hidden Fees and Extortion Tactics: At delivery, movers added an undisclosed $300 fee for the walk distance to the apartment door. Suspicious Payment Method: Movers halted unloading and demanded immediate Venmo payment--including the extra $300--to an individual account unaffiliated with AB Movers before completing the job. Final Cost: $2,700 plus the cost of staying in a hotel for three nights because of no furniture from Tuesday evening until delivery on Friday. Conclusion AB Movers uses unethical business practices, unpredictable pricing, and suspicious payment demands. Do not hire them under any circumstances. read more

This company is a SCAM. They quote you an estimate somewhere between the too low to be real and the too high can't be real price. So you think three bears. The middle price is just right. WRONG! Your deposit is non refundable. So they show up and demand way more money . Thousands more or and I quote their rep "just cancel and we'll keep your deposit "!! I refused to pay any more. So ... they only brought a few pieces. They factored in two stops. But refused to go to the second stop. It took a full month for them to bring the one room. One room for $4000!!! My priceless coffee table left to me by my late mother, showed up with no legs. Even if wasn't an emotional attachment piece, what am I supposed to with a table with no legs? Now they're ignoring my emails and calls. The business is a piece of work. Hopefully the BBB posted this to their site. I looking for my options. And still have to figure out how to get the rest of my things. Soon!! What a mess this incompetent company put me in!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

ZERO stars! Update to my previous review. Our delivery date of August 7th has come and gone. No belongings arrived. Been trying to track down our belongings with VSNY van lines. No one will return my emails or calls from either company since last week. Last Wednesday VSNY said that everything was in Oregon in storage (this is for 34 days) and they had "no idea" when it would arrive to Texas. No contact since. We are completely shocked. Had to purchase new kitchen items and a bed so my daughter isn't sleeping on a floor. Filing a complaint and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration which can hopefully look into this fraud and pull their license. Please please do the same to protect others! read more

Like most every other review here - they are a company you should avoid at all costs. Low ball initial, and then day before pick-up, increased price by about $1200, and then the moving company that took the job jacked up for another $1300. Best thing you can do is just contact a reputable moving company directly. Avoid and all brokers, especially AB Moving Services. read more

FRAUD ALERT, FRAUD ALERT, FRAUD ALERT!!!!!! DO NOT USE!!! The place is a scam and you will spend thousands finding that out. Use someone else or do it yourself like we had to after the company they brokered it to also tried to scam us. Little did they know that we would actually have the load already measured out and ready to load before they tried to tell us that we would have to double the space. read more

It all started with what it seemed to be a fair quote. The day before the scheduled move the quote went up almost $4000 and when I tried to cancel it, the deposit was non refundable. That's how they get you! From there it went downhill fast as the rip off continued. The actual movers were beyond rude and unprofessional and asked for cash or money order. Suddenly they also had a delivery timeline 4-30 days. Feeling threatened by one of the movers yelling on my face, had to call the police. They took off as soon as they knew the police was coming. Law enforcement recommended filing a law suit. In that whole process we lost around $3000 that were never refunded. The absolute WORST experience I ever had with a " moving company ". An absolute SCAM. Please stay away from these people!!! read more

Don't fall into the trap I did with AB Moving Services. I hired them to move from Gilbert, AZ to Hendersonville, TN. The first call with Madison felt friendly and promising -- their quote came in a few hundred dollars under what a truck rental would have cost, so I signed on. But the details were vague, and when I asked questions, I was told not to worry -- someone would call me two days before pickup to go over everything. Two days before pickup. For a cross-country move??? My move changed -- I needed more space -- and every time I raised it, I got the same answer: it'll be handled on that pre-call. I had to fight just to get my dates updated before that window even arrived. When the pre-call finally came, the price had doubled. I said no. That's when the real scam kicked in. The deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances -- including when they don't do the job. And their playbook is transparent once you see it: they call you repeatedly, pushing you to say the word "cancel," because the moment you do, they're off the hook. Every person I spoke with was indifferent at best, sighing with irritation at worst. This company isn't in the moving business. They're in the deposit-collection business. Stay far away. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this moving company and their insurance provider. During my move, several of my items were damaged due to careless handling. What was even more frustrating was the claims process afterward. The insurance company made the process unnecessarily difficult, requested excessive documentation, and ultimately offered a settlement that did not come close to covering the repair or replacement costs. Communication was slow, and I had to follow up multiple times just to get updates. Moving is already stressful, and this experience made it significantly worse. I would strongly recommend that others carefully review their insurance coverage and consider alternative companies before booking. read more

For the love of God, don't use this company or you'll regret it! First off, they subcontract out the work, which is something you don't find out until they come to pick up your stuff. My initial quote was $4,000, then it was revised to $6,300, and after my belongings were on the trucks it became over $15,000. All my stuff wouldn't fit on one truck, which was their fault because they didn't stack it effectively, but I was told I wouldn't be charged for the whole second truck because we didn't use all the space and then they turn around and charge me for a whole second truck. They wouldn't release my stuff at the destination until I wired them the full balance of $12,753 and kept threatening to take it back to storage and charge me a $3,000 storage fee. So, even after I managed to get the money together and wire it to them the same day, they wouldn't put together all of the stuff they had taken apart. We also have broken and damaged things at drop off. I would never hire this company again and you shouldn't either unless you're just a glutton for punishment. read more

DO NOT USE ... CROOKS .. they tell you one price and show up and demand 50% more.. what do you do but pay it ... you have no choice you have to be out of a house for closing ... and to make matters worse... they show up missing 15% of my stuff... driver on the phone for 30 mins and they then confess they ran out of room on the truck and I had to wait another 10 days to get the rest of the things and they play dumb !! Potential Scam company. Please know that not all calls are recorded and the company does whatever they can to protect themselves. My experience with AB Moving was initially positive, with assurances regarding process and a "refundable" deposit given reasonable notice. This led me to trust the information provided. However, subsequent anxiety led me to cancel the service, more than 30 days before the scheduled move. The situation quickly deteriorated. BEFORE YOU BOOK YOUR MOVE, READ YOUR CONTRACT THOROUGHLY. Upon cancellation, I was informed my deposit was non-refundable, directly contradicting earlier statements. A manager promised to review call recordings and return my call within 48 hours but failed to do so. When I called back, I was told I had misunderstood the initial terms and that the original payment method was invalid for final charges. Multiple calls and emails were met with rudeness and a refusal to refund the deposit for services not rendered. I am thankful I did not use their moving services if this is indicative of their customer service standards. I highly advise against using AB Moving services. The discrepancy between verbal statements and contract terms, coupled with unprofessional customer service, makes them an unreliable choice. Always rely on the written contract over verbal promises. read more

I hired AB Moving to move furniture from Orlando to Santa Rosa. The SAME DAY I paid a deposit of $1005. Within a few hours I learned they were broker and not movers. I called to cancel. I was told to send the request in an email. Which I did on the SAME DAY. They didn't refund my deposit. I escalated to the bank and they lied to BoA that I did not contact them despite having a copy of the email with their address and date. They are liars and thieves. They don't tell you or explain they are brokers. Then they kept my deposit despite the request being made, in writing, well within the 5 business days. Beware and stay away from this company. read more

The ABSOLUTE WORST experience with a company. My original sales man did his job well. He was quick moving through my furniture on original quote, didn't break down pieces of furniture like my bed having more than a frame and mattress (because most beds don't?), gave me an amazing quote, then warned me of other companies who tend to give low quotes and then up the price on you when you add more before moving day. EXACTLY what was done here. Read every one of these one star reviews, and it is exactly what happened to us. We apparently went from needing not much space at all (with most of our boxes, plastic crates, and large furniture figured into the quote) and when I went room to room 2 days before pick up, I needed triple the space and 5k more in cost. I did need to add some additional furniture, but it was a few small pieces, a bed and dresser, and some outdoor furniture. Nothing compared to what had been quoted. We said forget the extra cost, rented a u-haul and moved the extra furniture ourselves. Had we not lost our nearly $900 deposit, I would have said forget it from the get go. READ YOUR CONTRACT (if you can because the minute I signed mine the link to review it disappeared and never was able to get it emailed to my personal email for some reason)!! The pick up drivers showed up 3 hours late outside the 4 hour timeframe. I had to call twice to get an answer of when they would be there. My stuff was picked up, and put into storage for nearly 2 weeks without word or update on when our things would be delivered. (Just FYI, your need your furniture date is only the first day they can deliver and will NOT be guaranteed to be there in any sort of timely fashion. And guess what, you just have to deal with it because they have your things!) I called multiple times for a date of delivery and was told time after time it wasn't ready, they were working on it, call back in 2 days. Then the drop off drivers finally showed up, and I don't have my mattress for our one bed they were transporting. Who doesn't need their things timely? Basically i've been told it is what it is...no real help, nothing can be done. Absolute TERRIBLE customer service over the phone. Call from a manager, forget it! I've asked, no return call was ever given for any of my calls even to nail down a delivery date. This was a stressful move going nearly 800 miles away, and this company only ADDED to that stress. I also have several items that were damaged in the process. So, if you want headache, to be out of a ton of money unexpectedly, and want to add to your stress, then go ahead and hire these people. NEVER again will I use a moving company. I don't even want to give one star here. NEGATIVE and beyond NOT GOOD is all I have to say. read more

DO NOT USE this company!! They are a complete scam!! They quoted me $1900 for a move for a full 10 by 15 storage unit from NY to Fla. we confirmed several times that uniit was full and are they sure it's only what they quoted us. We gave a $700 deposit which they claim was non refundable. On the day before the move they said they made a mistake and it was now $7800. This is clear breach of contract. they have audio of phone conversations. They refused to give us our deposit back Even though owner said we did ask their employee several times if he was absolutely sure $1900 was the quote for a packed unit. I'm disputing credit card charges and will be taking them to small claims court!! They Refuse to give deposit back. Completely incompetent and total scammers read more

I hired AB Moving for an interstate move, and the experience was a nightmare. * They forced me to pay $500 for a "shuttle fee" that was not in my contract. The truck (a standard 26-ft box truck) could easily park in my neighborhood. They later claimed the fee was for "Los Angeles to Santa Clara transfer," which is just their internal logistics -- not something a customer should be charged for. I had no choice but to pay under protest before they would release my belongings. * The service was supposed to be door-to-door, including unloading, furniture placement, and reassembly. Instead, they just dropped everything off and refused to finish the job. * The driver showed up without enough crew and even hired a random day laborer from a Home Depot parking lot, paying him cash to help unload. This was unsafe and unprofessional, leaving me exposed to liability if that person got injured on my property. * They failed to provide or have me sign a Bill of Lading, which is required by law. Delivery was also delayed several days. * On top of everything, some of my furniture was damaged. This company engaged in misleading practices, unauthorized charges, and unsafe operations. I strongly advise anyone considering AB Moving to stay away -- they do not honor their own contract, and they put customers in unfair and unsafe situations. read more

AB Moving Services - Damaged Furniture - Movers Near Me - Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey

We had a terrible experience moving from Louisiana to Wisconsin in February. AB Moving Services hired Best Move Vanline to move our possessions. They arrived mid-afternoon with two 26 foot Penske trucks. At 8 PM they realized they needed a third truck. They finished loading at 11:30 PM and demanded full payment in cash and said they do not accept credit cards. We gave them a check and they left. The estimate from AB was $5,948 and Best Move charged $24,572 for a total of $30,520. In my opinion this was extortion. I expected to pay $10K because we have a lot of items, but NOT $30K. We moved to Louisiana in 2020 and the total then was approx. $7K. My check cleared the following day but Best Move refused to deliver for 7 days following. Many of our items were damaged and a table was missing. We filed a claim for this weeks ago and no response. We also filed complaints with several agencies, state and federal also with no response. read more

NEVER AGAIN! DO NOT USE!! The Customer Service people were polite until you paid the deposit. After that, they were intolerant, rude, interrupted you while you spoke, or put you on hold indefinitely. We were told we went over our reserved space, and had to pay more BEFORE our belongings were loaded. We had no mattresses, no couch, no dining set. Only 2 small black shelves, an entertainment stand, hope chest, and a dresser. The rest of our load was boxes and bins. The movers charged a $200 packing fee, which was not previously disclosed. They left our home without providing an inventory list. The movers had inflated our price by 300cu.ft.. We felt as if our belongings were being held ransom. The unprofessional and angry manner in which moving men communicated, made us feel as if this was our "only option if we want our stuff moved". If we attempted to take pictures or videos, the driver became confrontational and uncomfortably aggressive. We feared retaliation towards our belongings if we didn't "go along with his claims" regarding cubic feet and pay him. When our items and furnishings arrived at our new home, many of the boxes and bins were crushed or crumpled in some way. Some boxes were torn partially open. One shelf was completely destroyed and my dresser was broken and received cosmetic damage. The movers had no markers to differentiate between our items and someone else's; at one point they moved a box and an air purifier into our home that wasn't ours, and were asked to remove them. read more
