The pricing was fair, clear, and honestly exactly what we were looking for--no additional costs or surprises here (comparatively, I had other quotes which had added costs which didn't make sense). When it came to moving day, his team was quick, efficient, and extremely careful with my boxes and furniture, securing them in all the right rooms. Honestly, they even finished early, they were that efficient. Highly recommend, I'll definitely be reaching back out to Midas Movers for all my moving needs.

Our experience with Midas Movers was simply amazing! Since I was arranging the move from Texas,…read moreeverything had to be coordinated via email or phone. I got estimates from at least seven companies, but Justin at Midas Movers stood out immediately. He responded quickly to my calls and patiently answered all my questions without pressuring me to commit. We ultimately chose Midas Movers, though we were understandably nervous as the move was arranged mostly via phone. Justin kept in touch 24 hours before the move and even helped address last-minute concerns, which gave us peace of mind. On the moving day, the crew--Justin, Abe, and McHenry--arrived exactly on time. Despite pouring rain and the challenges of parking in downtown Philadelphia, Justin handled everything calmly and efficiently. The team was incredibly thorough and careful with our belongings, ensuring not a single item was scratched or broken--even with some loose furniture pieces. Unloading and reassembling furniture was done quickly yet meticulously, and they finished the entire process on time. What could have been a stressful day turned into a breeze thanks to their calm demeanor, organization, and professionalism. I whole heartedly recommend Midas Movers! If you're looking for reliable, efficient, and thoughtful movers, this is the team to choose. Did I mention they were also affordable!!!

I contacted four different moving companies to move us from our large two bedroom sixth floor…read moreapartment (elevator building) to our small two bedroom home. Meetunghouse's form for the request was by FAR the easiest to fill out. On the day of the move, they brought everything we needed (moving blankets etc.) We boxed everything else ourselves before they arrived. The three movers assigned were cheerful and helpful and did their job very, very well. We've moved a lot over the years and this was one of the best experiences we had. They even helped us pick up a Facebook marketplace patio set on our way! Remember to tip your movers - it's hard work!!

I hired Meetinghouse to pack for me and move all the stuff. Mostly everything moved from one place…read moreto another, but the packers forgot to pack some things and the movers were stressed! The packers and movers were two different crews - one worked Thursday afternoon and the other Friday afternoon - which may have contributed to the problem, because the movers were definitely not pleased with the packers. It got to the point towards the end of day 2 where I just told folx to put stuff down because I felt guilty about how hard the move was on them. Based on the other reviews, I'm thinking I might have caught some of the folx on off-days? I will say they were prompt and polite, and Sway really tried to make up for what he could tell was not the smoothest move. It was not an inexpensive move, but the price matched with other companies I got quotes from. *I'd recommend not asking them to move plants because almost all of the plants they handled lost limbs. Not sure how to get around this if you're a person without a car or just want everything moved in one trip, but I'm glad I moved most of the plants myself. Art was handled delicately though!

Moving sucks, Mambo makes it easy…read more You have countless options of movers to choose from in Philadelphia, Mambo Movers is the clear winner. I've moved with them twice now, both within the city. Their team is friendly, careful, and fairly priced. They moved me out of my 1 bedroom apartment within a couple hours with no issues. They are cash only and price is dependent on how much stuff you have, oversized items, distance and what floor you are moving from and to. Next time I move, I'll be using Mambo again.

In my opinion, THE go-to option when it comes to getting a move done painlessly. It was my first…read moretime ever hiring movers and I did a good bit of research and calling around prior to deciding to go with Mambo. The process could not be easier. Call, agree on the date, go over some basic need to knows, and await their call the day of your move. That's it. I moved on a Wednesday morning. They arrived before 9am and I was SET UP in my apartment prior to 11:30am. It was honestly amazing. I was only moving a block away and I could tell they did everything they possibly could to ensure I stayed within the two hour minimum. The entire crew of three was so kind and helpful, and the entire experience cost me LESS than $400 without tip. In my opinion, a no brainer. I move again at the end of March (shudder) and will absolutely be using them again for my local move. Next time, I'll use boxes instead of moving totes, and ensure any larger pieces of furniture are already disassembled prior to them arriving (though they made short work of disassembling and reassembling my IKEA couch). Thank you to the entire team at Mambo for making everything easy!

The TL;DR version: SMP is simply AMAZING! I never imagined my long-distance move could be this…read morequick, smooth, and stress-free!! The detailed version: I was super stressed out about the move before booking: I had a lot on my plate, and reading about scary moving experiences online didn't help at all. So I did my homework carefully: (a) Check Yelp: get a shortlist of movers with good reviews (I read the negative reviews on purpose and see whether what was mentioned was really a problem with the movers, or just things beyond anyone's control, or sheer ranting...). (b) Check each and every candidate mover in the FMCSA database (https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/select-mover): see if they are legit and have zero customer complaints (NOT all of those on my shortlist was authorized to do the job - scary!) (c) Getting a quote: I submitted quote requests for three finalists. One of them took almost a week to get back to me. The other asked so many questions online that I almost gave up filling out the form. SMP's online form was very brief - that's just another benefit of flat-rate prices. For my move from Philly to Chapel Hill, SMP also has the best listing price (the flat-rate one listed on their website), AND the peace of mind knowing there's not going to be any hidden fees is invaluable, too! So that's how I decided to try to work with SMP. (***I "try" because I am well aware of the fact that (a) this is peak moving season and (b) my intended move date was only TWO WEEKS away!) I communicated with Nate via email throughout the entire process - the responses were always nice and clear, and definitely as prompt as one could expect from an owner of a busy moving company at this time of the year (and often really swift by any other standards)! Then comes the loading day! We scheduled for 12:30 pm, and Nate and his crew showed up 20 minutes early with a magnificent truck. The guys were super professional, and I was left with an empty studio within 25 minutes!!! (Tip: having everything packed up and ready to go beforehand really helps. Yes, packing is painful and chaotic, but that gives one all the more reason NOT to do that with people waiting...) The original plan was to load on the afternoon of Day 1, the unload on the morning of Day 3. But Nate told me after loading whether they might be able to unload early on Day 2 because the preceding moving project seems nice and small. Of course I happily accepted - and they did arrive at 7pm on Day 2!! This time it's just Nate and Tony, but they still had the job done in UNDER AN HOUR!!! (And they accept Venmo as a form of payment - so convenient!) I'm 90% done with unpacking and everything (including my guitar, my two giant and heavy boxes of electronics, and that cheap little shoe shelf that I carelessly half-wrapped in a padded plastic bag) is in perfect condition! Nate and Tony were also extra careful when placing boxes on the floor at my brand new apartment. If someone told me I could be this happy and thrilled after a long-distance move on a hot and humid summer day, I would never believed him/her. But Nate and his team at SMP truly lived up to their name and offered a SMOOTH and PROFESSIONAL moving experience! I would highly recommend them to everyone I know!

They sure aren't smooth at scheduling. I reached out to them with full pick-up drop-off locations…read moreand full inventory list on May 13. They quoted me the next day. I then asked how to move forward - no answer for three days. On the third day I asked again if someone could please reach out and tell me the next steps and the reply, the next day was that they wanted to know my destination and inventory (ummmm you were given that originally). I again gave the destination pickup/drop off and full inventory list. That was three days ago, no response. Honestly, how can you be a reputable company when you don't respond to client requests? If the job was something they didn't/couldn't do, the least they could do is tell you instead of ignoring you. If this is how they respond in the beginning then how are they going to be with managing your move? Danger, danger Will Robinson.
