The guys who showed up (half an hour late) were perfectly nice, but obviously had very little moving experience and also moved incredibly slowly. After it took TWO AND A HALF HOURS for them to load the first half of our stuff (and we just have a small one bedroom apartment), I finally gave up and started moving stuff too, because I was afraid we wouldn't get out of our building in time. I'm a pretty small female and I was able to move more stuff than they did, and that was in between me having to explain to them basic things about how to move (e.g. helping them figure out how to fit stuff through doors and into the elevators). My two favorite moments had to be: 1. Halfway through all three guys took a load of stuff down in the elevator (don't ask me why that required three people), and in the time it took them to come back I moved the entire rest of the contents of the apartment to the area in front of the elevator. When they finally got back, they seemed impressed and said, "wow, you're fast!" Thanks, but isn't that THEIR job? 2. At one point I saw one of them carrying a small table that has casters on it. I said, "You know you can push that, it has wheels," to which he replied "not anymore!" and showed me that he had somehow managed to snap off one of the casters. It ended up taking six hours to move about 30 blocks with these guys (compared to the seven hours it took when I moved to Philly from NYC with actual professionals). Again, they were perfectly nice, but you could get the same level of help by showing up at a college campus and offering free pizza to the first couple of kids you saw. If you want to pay for professional movers, use a company with actual professionals.

In response to the company's response: I am confused as to what it is you're talking about. 1) we specifically said NOT to worry about items not packaged. We were going to move those unpacked items ourselves as it was literally next door. Even if we asked you to do it, it still should not have taken 11 hours. 2) what on earth are you talking about regarding suggesting a climate controlled storage unit? Please get your facts straight. We did not ask for anyone to clean items nor was that done. The couch issue had nothing to do with rodents or feces-- in fact it was covered in plastic. The issue was, that it was too large for our new space. But who knows. It may have actually fit into our apartment had it not been for your incompetent movers. They couldn't even figure out how to get our queen size box spring in the apt. Allllllll ya had to do was simply rotate it, which again, my husband had to show them that common sense technique. 3) $500 credit? Please process immediately as you've never mentioned this before nor do we see it on our account. 4) I called you about missing items. One of which I luckily questioned the day of the move and your driver found it in his car. They figured it was trash yet it was an important piece to my grill. Don't just assume items are trash. I hope as the professional you repeatedly claim to be, you'll process a credit for the items that are gone. This is on top of the $500 credit that is not pending or posted on our account. I confirmed a few days before move-in the details but that's when they added the $95 additional fee for heavy equipment since they "overlooked" intake initially. I let it go because I mostly just wanted moving to go well. On the day of, they were about 15 min late and I didn't hear anything so I contacted Belle. She let me know that because of unexpected complications with their prior move they would be 2.5 hours late. I've been told this is to be expected. 2.5 hours later, I still didn't hear anything so I contacted Belle again. June is a big moving month and I had only reserved the freight elevators from 11-3 pm which I was told would be enough time. The mover called me and told me to be patient because of city traffic and he was "5 min away." 30 min later, he showed up, was extremely rude and told me that's how business is. Then he scoffed and said "these items will definitely be done by 3 pm." They were not done with using the elevators until 3:30 pm but luckily, my front desk people were so amazing and informed the next tenants that my movers were running late so I needed extra time. Since they showed up late and were rushed and arrogant, none of my furniture was wrapped and the mattress cover they provided ripped, dirtying our mattress. Then, on the move there, they lost 2 screws to our couch, scuffed our wall, and got dirt stains on our dresser. I filed a damage report and got back $100 so I guess their damage claims process is efficient? We spent all weekend looking for the right screws to attach to the couch so that's time well never get back. They offered dry wall repair for our wall, which has yet to arrive. All in all, would not recommend this company unless you plan on wrapping the furniture yourself and providing your mattress cover to anticipate the damages you accrue. It honestly defeats the purpose of a moving company.

His quote was a few thousand lower than it ended up costing me; I paid the highest amount that I heard from friends in my previous neighborhood who moved to the same development but their movers were not available. He later offered to help bring in some of the boxes but we were so frustrated by how much work we had ahead of us we just couldn't comprehend having him come over but as we were getting to the end we had some heavy items that needed help to move and I tried recently to call him and he doesn't answer the phone. That is why I wouldn't trust anything he says! BEWARE! No matter what is said get exact price written down, what is exactly is included, watch how they wrap everything and fragile items you should take yourself and be wary if they say boxes are included! I originally thought it went well till I started to unpack. Now first off I had an estimate including them to unpack but they misjudged the amount of work that was required. So it ended costing me triple the price and they didn't have the time to unpack. They also only marked half the boxes with what was in them making it very frustrating for me to know what was worth to unpack immediately. Upon moving the boxes that they piled up triple high and very heavy caused the move to be extremely difficult since we are in our 70's. Upon opening the boxes the items were wrapped and re-wrapped with so much clear plastic that we spent hours cutting through to get to the items. They did this to many things that were non breakable pieces like boxes of cereal but a vase from Greece was wrapped in paper and was broken in pieces. A cup from Russia also broken was thrown in with the vase and a piece of paper place between them no wrap on the cup. My small 2 drawer file desk was emptied in a box mixing paper clips, rubber bands, pens, markers, and everything else that was in jars. All our items with cords instead of keeping them together they were all thrown in different boxes and still have not found them. We have a very heavy sewing table with machine needed taken up to the walk up attic(our second floor) it is still sitting in the garage and now we have to hire someone else to take care of it otherwise we can not park in the garage. DO NOT HIRE THEM! THEY Will PROMISE TO DO THINGS; BUT BEWARE!! ALSO I WAS CHARGED FOR EXTRA MATERIAL; THEY USED SO MUCH MORE THAN NEEDED!!
