I used Midas for one recent move, and their larger competitor Bellhop for another. Midas is better than Bellhop. Bellhop damaged my stuff. Midas didn't. Midas took extreme care with my stuff. For my monitors and TVs, they packaged them and didn't scratch them. As a customer, I don't know what precautions I have to take to transport my monitors. Midas just showed up and took care of it. Bellhop showed up and scratched my monitors, because they just put them on the truck un-packaged. Midas's superiority to Bellhop was even more evident when it came to the furniture. Oh, my God. Midas wrapped everything in plastic. Bellhop didn't. Now basically all my wooden furniture has little scratches all over it, because Bellhop didn't wrap my furniture in plastic. I don't think this outcome was a coincidence. From talking to the movers, it sounds like employee satisfaction is higher at Midas. I went with Bellhop for the second move because they had the time slot I wanted. I wish I'd been more flexible and gone with Midas. If you're looking at Bellhop's flashy website and are tempted to do with them, don't. You're going to need that flashy website and smooth IT infrastructure to file a claim after your stuff gets damaged. Go with Midas. read more

I liked how accessible Midas Movers were when it came to providing me with a quote and booking an appointment. They have a 2 hour minimum (plus a $50 truck fee) and I was only moving 4 mins away so I was hoping it wouldn't take too long. The movers were able to get everything done within 2.5 hours time which was great. They also offered advice on how to get my box spring up the stairs since it wasn't a foldable one and it wouldn't fit up the stairs as is. They were really nice guys and worked efficiently. Just a heads up - they do not accept checks. They only accept cash or Paypal, but with PayPal they add on an additional 3% charge. read more

Our move required dropping off furniture at two locations, which required loading the truck twice. This is probably one the best move experiences I've had in my years of moving. Justin and his 2-man team of movers were: On-Time; Efficient and Customer Service Oriented. Lastly, priced competitively well. Based on all we had to move, we probably been charged twice as much. But Justin kept time and charges all throughout the move. So, here is my amazing Midas movers experience from beginning to end: First, I sent out email and requested a quote, Justin called me back and gave the most reasonable quote I got among all other Philadelphia moving companies. Since I have never worked with a moving company before, I wanted to make sure, they will know what is expected from them. (I have Always been asking a helping hand from friends) Justin totally understood my concern, since my apartment was in center City, he offered doing a walkthrough. We scheduled the walkthrough, and he explained what they will exactly be doing on moving day, and how my wife and İ need to prepare for moving( like reserving parking spot, elevator, figuring out which furnitures we need Midas movers to disassemble etc) Few days close to moving day, I reached out midas movers, and asked them if we can change the time for our moving, due to elevator issues No problem! Justin and Russel worked their schedule out, and accommodated the adjusted hours. Moving day! So, we packed most of our stuff, wrapped as many furnitures as we could, and after having rough 1-2nights, it came down to moving day. Russell, Emanuel and Zack showed up at exactly 9 am, not even 1min late. Really good headstart after barely sleeping last two nights! After greeting them and providing the parking permit, they just started their work. Disassembling bed,etc; put all the stuff into truck. They didn't even complain about narrow hallway at my apartment, and small space that wasn't giving much room to work at. They worked super efficient, and placed bigger bulky furnitures first, to truck. And then all other moving boxes etc. They easily fit all my moving boxes and furniture into 23" truck, yet there was some space left with their efficient placing. They took extra attention on fragile items and tv. Covered them, and placed to truck at the end. So, moving out was done by 2-2.5hours Moving into my new place was little bit better for them (I hope :) ) Unlike the old apartment, I moved out, new one had Loading deck, and freight elevator. While Zack was building the bed, Emanuel and Russell placed the items. They placed the stuff appropriate rooms matching with the labels we put on, and if they had any questions, they asked us on where exactly we want them. All our moving boxes and furnitures were placed exactly where we wanted. After 3.5 hours(total) of hardwork, Russell asked if we need anything. We shook hands, and that's it. Moving completed. Appreciated all the work they put in! Thanks to Midas movers, I had much less stress considering my previous moves. Bonus: some PPA agent, managed the give parking ticket to their truck despite of all the signs and permits we put everywhere on the block. Since PPA agent was in wrong, Russell was so nice about the situation by telling us not to worry about it. And at the end they didn't charge us for the parking ticket since we had proof for the permit. Guess they will do all the appealing, and fight for cancelling out the fine. How nice of them! All in all! Midas Movers moved all my belongings with great care, and they were efficient. The price was reasonable with a great result. I did light research on local movers and my first choice had some worrisome reviews so I reached out to a friend who recommended Midas Movers. Their website had all the information I needed as well as helpful tips on saving out spots for the truck. Unfortunately, I was told that they only had a 30' truck which I felt was too large for our needs at $100 additional. We simply pre-ordered a smaller U-Haul truck that we picked up the morning of the move. Midas Movers is a team of 3 men. This was my first experience with a moving company and it was amazing. STRESS FREE and affordable since we were moving within the area. The guys were very, very helpful and nice guys. Great communication before and during the move. We were moved from a 2 bedroom 2nd floor apartment to a small South Philly house in about 2.25 hours. I am grateful that everything went smoothly. Definitely worth the money (2 hours minimum). My move was initially scheduled for that ridiculous foureaster we got at the end of March, so Justin called me a few days before to let me know he was tracking the weather and to come up with a contingency plan. We ended up rescheduling to the Friday afterward. He and his crew arrived promptly at 10:30 AM and I was moved into my new apartment before 2 PM. They handled all my boxes and furniture super well. The only thing I wish they'd done differently was wrap my mattress but it was my first time using movers and that was on me for not clarifying whether they or I would do that. I had a pretty good experience with Midas. They were on time which was great since the last time I moved, my movers were at least two hours behind schedule. The move went very quickly with no waiting around. At my new place, my couch wouldn't fit, which wasn't the movers fault. They tried multiple times to make it work. However, my one qualm was they clearly banged up the walls of my new place a bit in trying to make the new couch fit. I asked if they had done it and they said it was like that when they got there.
