They said I was responsible for supplying all the materials. I had no idea what materials were needed for replacement of all the plumbing to be replaced. I had purchased the new sink, disposal & faucet. 3. They charge to drive to a hardware store whereas plumbers have supplies on their truck or purchase them beforehand to complete the job. 4. I needed recommendations before ordering replacement items, which I received when the plumbers gave me estimates at no cost. 5. They aren't plumbers to know best practices & city codes. 6. I have no idea of the skill set or necessary experience as to who they assign to my project. 7. The last handyman I used for a small fix used the thinnest cheapest copper to change a shut off. Lesson learned. A plumber wouldn't have used such material. Enough said.

I inquired on how long the job would take based on pictures I sent over, and he replied "an hour max, and it will probably be a couple screws and glue" Communication was OK overall. Lee contacted me on a Monday and asked for the address, email and phone number and asked about my availability for the remainder of the week. I didn't receive a response to my reply, so I had to follow up the next day. We were able to get the job scheduled for the same Friday and his team came to complete the project utilizing a lockbox we provided. I didn't receive any updates during the job, which probably would have helped the surprise of the invoice I later received that was $232.35 when I was expecting something closer to $100 based on our first conversation. Lee did promptly reply and let me know that they thought they would hit a stud but since there was nothing, the job was more complicated as they had to create the support. Overall, still a solid experience and I would still consider using Lee and Finest Fix in the future.

The new light fixtures I asked to have installed were sticking out of the wall because the prior fixture box was not in all the way, and cement had been put around the box to cover it up. Instead of completing the installation of the new fixtures on the old poorly done box and having them stick out, we discussed it, and he suggested that he could chip out the cement, which was not a simple task, and replace the boxes with "half boxes" that I would need to purchase. In the end, he was able to put the original boxes back in properly and install the new lanterns flush with the wall. Looks really good!

I was mentally over everything to do with moving at that point and was going to say we could put it back on the truck and donate it. But what did the Old City guys do? They tried to take it through the window, which was also slightly too small! They had to disassemble the window, bring my couch in, then put the window back together! I'm honestly still impressed at the dedication. Other stuff: They responded to my quote request through their website in less than 1.5 hours. Their email communications were very thorough about guidelines and policies, which I appreciated a lot during a hectic move.

When questioned (because they were cheaper) he highlighted his business as better due to a number of factors. None of these ended up coming to fruition. - the Rando he got to transport my car was horrible. Lack of communication or updates. Ended up delivering the car two or three days later than promised (meaning I missed being able to inspect the car). And throughout the process was full of lies regarding arrival time and why he wasn't delivering on time. - car was damaged during transport but because I was out of town for 2 months after the fact and wasn't able to confirm and share this with Eric (because it was delivered late) I had no recourse for costs to fix the damage. - finally, In reviewing his end of year books, Eric got confused about a voided transaction (I had been charged twice initially and there was a void in his books). He assumed that it was me doing it due to my dissatisfaction and charged my credit card again without confirming the issue with me. He left messages while I was in a meeting and then charged my card without confirming. When I called, he apologized for his angry action but for someone who highlights professionalism amongst his traits, I feel this was way out of line. I was going to just leave things as is and not write a review and leave things as they were in August but given the action he took today I felt compelled to warn others.

He came back to us that same day with a fair quote and was very responsive and friendly with the several follow-up questions we asked in the next days. His brother Dominic and other employee, Blake, were the ones that actually did the work in our home over the course of 9 days. They started by removing some wall paper and then spent numerous hours filling countless holes and cracks in our walls and ceilings. They tried to seal off the areas they were working in in order to minimize the dust as much as possible. They were very diligent at filling all the cracks and holes and smoothing them out so that they were no longer visible. They did several ceilings, a few bedrooms, trim, a living room, kitchen, and hallways, including two staircases. We actually added to the scope of work a couple of times and they were very accommodating. As we were working from home the entire time they were doing the job, we saw first hand how hard they worked throughout the day. They even came back for an extra couple of hours one day to make sure a blemish was fixed. They really went the extra mile, giving it their all and the results showed. We are very happy with how everything turned out! On top of a great outcome, it was a pleasure having them in our home. They were very respectful and friendly, and did a better job of cleaning up at the end of each day than any other contractors we have had in our home. From the estimate to the prep day and then the move itself, everyone on the team was careful with our things, very efficient, and polite. On the day of our move, the team showed up as expected, took a walk through the home to get our instructions and worked quickly and efficiently from there and worked with care. They brought extra supplies for us to pack up last minute items, wrapped all our furniture, fragile items were bubble wrapped and then packed in the box, so they stay protected. They worked fast and efficiently. It was like having friends help, except they knew what they were doing. They are a very good company and I won't hesitate to call them again. Blanket wrapped and shrink wrapped all of my items and took extra care with the most fragile. I packed boxes and marked them so that they were placed in the right rooms for me to u pack. Ned frame was taken apart and mattresses shrink wrapped and then reassembled at my new location. The whole move took about 3 hrs from start to finish. The job was supposed to include four workers, a 20-foot truck, and completion within 4-5 hours. These conditions were not met. At one point, they were unable to secure a truck at all, and I had to step in to try to resolve the situation myself. As a result of these failures, I experienced over $2,000 in financial loss and significant disruption over two days. Additionally, their handling of the truck situation caused a $1,608 issue to be connected to my U-Haul account. While I resolved the matter myself, it required immediate attention and time to correct a problem that should never have occurred. After the move, I was informed by the storage facility manager that an item fell during the move and a breaking sound was heard. This was never disclosed to me at any time. During our interaction, Adolphus Pinckney stated, "I wouldn't blame you if you don't pay us anything--I'm quite sure you're not going to pay us anything." Despite that statement acknowledging the situation, I still paid the full contract amount in good faith. There was no acknowledgment, no apology, and no effort made to provide compensation or resolve the situation. I made multiple attempts to address this directly before posting this review, but received no meaningful response. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

I was told a 3 day window for pickup but of course last day ended up to be the pickup day . Ok fine. Time scheduled was 12 noon - They showed up @ 10 pm on the Friday night.- 10 hours later- multiple excuses. The coordinator guy told me cancel if you like... and he would consider not charging me th 450 bucks! Really ?? Thats so nice of him _ Not!! He told me moving is stressful and this is par for the course. Hmm.... I needed the furniture at my new place and we were flying out the next morning. They know they have you once you pay the non refundable deposit. They did show up on time to the destination- which was a positive , but then the moving guys refused to the take the furniture inside as they picked it up from the garage. I moved the stuff to the garage to make it easier for them and I still stood in the shivering cold while they packed my stuff, Now they said the company rule was to they leave things where they found the stuff. No good deed goes unpunished.!! Really sad as I like to support small businesses - but not a pleasant experience and stressful. Not to mention I had to take off a whole day of work to wait around for the movers to show up. Not sure I can recommend them.

They worked hard, packaged breakable items with care, and we're on time (Something that I have discovered is not true with every moving company. )! They patiently waited for the "go sign" to unload at the new house. When they pulled away it was as if we were saying goodbye to friends. The missing star is due to what I understand is a common reality ... the final price exceeded the original estimate, which was an "ouch" moment but understandable. Definitely would call them for any future moves!
