Gold foil, black printing on custom size

From service to follow through, just excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure that my cards turned out just perfect! Family owned business who believe in quality and service. Love them! I'll definitely be back here for all my printing needs.

Little known, this is the oldest original letterpress in LA. I've had invites, thank you notes, and personalized stationary done here, all of which I've been thrilled with, but even if you're not in the market for custom printing, it's a cool place to check out just to see and watch them using the press. It's still a family business and everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful. Letterpress is the oldest and most expensive method of printing around, but the look and feel of the finished product is unmistakable and second to none. There's no better way to create something unique and personal. Sure, there are other presses in town (for example, Soolip, which I also love), but they'll cost you a mint compared to Aardvark's. Another bonus is the awesome paper shop next door where you can source, and even custom order, everything you need to have printed at a very reasonable price. If you're checking out printers or looking for letterpress, Aardvark's is an invaluable resource.

I found this business when I was looking to make new and unique business cards. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by their authentic and original machinery. I could tell by their samples that they printed on thick high quality cotton paper which was just the style that I was looking for. Founded in 1968, the original owner and his son still run the place and Brooks, the son was kind enough to give me a rundown on how the print pressing worked. As I waited for my samples to be made I observed Bill, the print master even hand trims some of the work to tweek it into perfection. Just by seeing what goes on during my wait, I could tell that much craftsmanship goes into making the product. This sets this letterpress apart from other typical printing companies. It's quality over quantity here and I think its worth it if you want something unique and special. Brooks was very professional and detail orientated and made sure all the i's were dotted and the t's were crossed and showed me the in between process before confirming on the final design. It's worth the wait to know that you won't have overlooked mistakes and typos. Not to much surprise, I was very happy with the final product and will definately come back for future printing^^

Aardvark Letterpress is a one-of-a-kind printing shop in the heart of LA. We had our wedding invitations and wedding card / parting gift made here and we are so happy with that decision. The detail and craftsmanship of their work is unparalleled. They worked with us on the design of each element of the wedding invitation package-- the invitation, RSVP cards, envelopes, etc. They went through all the different types of paper, inks, and gold foils. Their attention to each invite was evident in the final result. I also just love the vibe of the place, local family business that has been operating for decades.

I was initially quoted $3500 for a handful of laser jet wedding invitations. Frustrated and feeling strapped budget wise, I decided to create my own invitations. I started searching for a letterpress studio to help bring my designs to life and luckily I found Aardvark Letterpress! They've been around since the 60s and are a family run business, so I was excited to support a local small business. I met with Brooks who took such care into helping us find the right paper, ink colors and provided helpful design feedback so that our wedding invitations could fit into our budget. He worked within our timeline and even offered for us to come in and watch them print the first few proofs before they printed everything else. We came in to watch our proofs get printed and were in awe watching Bill mix together the paint in order to find the perfect grey for us. A week later, I brought my Dad in so I could pick up our invitations and we ended up staying for an extra 40 minutes to just see their amazing collection of metal fonts, previous printed work and got a mini history lesson into the craftsmanship that is letterpress! My Dad later told me later it was the highlight of his entire weekend. I agreed! Everyone at Aardvark operates like a family and that's exactly how they treat their customers. Their passion is unmatched to any print vendor I have ever met. I am so in love with how our invitations turned out that I am just looking for more excuses to print with Aardvark now. I highly recommend their work to anyone looking to get some letterpress done. I promise you won't regret it!

Aardvark Letterpress is the only place I will have my stationary printed. I've had my business cards and also my wedding invitations printed with Aardvark and they did a stellar job both times! Brothers Brooks & Cary were great at taking care of my orders during the production process and helped keep me under budget and early on the deadline! They are proud Angelenos and I'm happy to be giving them my business.

Wow This place is beyond believable. The craftsmanship of this place is something that cannot be replicated. I came in expecting mediocre cards (like most places) especially since I was in a hurry! Nothing could've prepared me for the care and detail they put in to each and every card. I saw an array of options and could not decide so one of the owners helped me out in picking the perfect card for my business. He hit the nail right on the head. Could not be happier with the service, quality and price! This is your place if you are looking for uniqueness and quality. Thank you!

I just need 2 copies made from an original photo. Thats all. Color Images replies saying it was $5 and can be done while I wait. I replied to confirm and they said it was easy and to come on down. So I send my husband in the following day to drop off the picture. After dropping it off he calls me back and tells me how rude the guy at the counter was to him and just how complicated he made a simple task seem. He said the guy acted like it was just a huge inconvenience, asking several questions for what should be simple and self explanatory and complaining that they normally do larger jobs , blah blah blah. At the end of the day I hadn't heard back from them as promised to let me know it was ready. I was already on a time crunch, because I intended this picture as a gift to someone who was visiting so I stopped by to see if it was finished (4pm, drop off was 9am) and the guy said "Oh, I forgot, let me warm up the machine". About 10 min later I have the copies. Now remember, I specifically asked for a color print of a glossy photo and they specifically responded that they can provide this. What I got was AWFUL. It was a morphed, discolored, paper copy. Common sense dictates that if someone asks for a copy of a glossy photo then theyd get a glossy photo in return. Its was so terrible. I think he even tried to balance the color, which made it worse...... The original photo was taken is soft lighting but it came out like it was red..... I dont even know how to explain it other than it was absolute garbage. Like I said, maybe they do good work on large print jobs but this place had no business reaching out to me when I was specific about what I was looking for AND the guy who is at the service desk is rude and unprofessional. I dont care about the measly $5. I care that my time was wasted and that both my husband and I were treated poorly. Oh, and I had to ask for my card back because he didnt return it at the end of the task and yes, he forgot because he sent me on my way before giving it back. I drove straight to CVS and printed out a perfect glossy duplicate for under $1.00, self service, took 3 minutes, the picture wasnt damaged or bent like I had feared which is why I did not go in the first place and no drama.

I visited the store in a happy and positive mood because I wanted to order Mother's Day balloons for my family. Yesterday, while returning an Amazon package, I noticed rose-shaped balloons and decided to come back this morning to purchase them. At the front desk, I approached an employee named Ken -- a heavy-set man with curly permed hair -- because I believed he worked in the balloon section and could assist me. When I politely asked about ordering the rose balloons, his response was shockingly dismissive: "What? You look for it yourself. If it's not there, then we don't have it. Just look at the balloon pictures over there and pick one." I then pointed to a silver Mother's Day heart balloon on display and asked where it was located. His response again was: "I don't know. Just buy whatever is there." The tone was irritated, careless, and openly disrespectful. At that moment, I put all the balloons down and asked for his name. He simply replied, "Ken." What upset me most was not just the lack of assistance, but the complete absence of basic courtesy and professionalism. I truly do not understand why someone who appears so irritated by customer questions would choose to work in customer service -- especially in a department specifically selling celebration balloons for occasions like Mother's Day. If customers asking questions is such a burden, then why sell balloons at all? Why not clearly label the products and information instead of treating customers as an inconvenience? This experience completely ruined my morning and destroyed the joyful mood I had walking into your store to prepare something meaningful for Mother's Day. Honestly, experiences like this are what make people feel that AI and self-service machines are becoming preferable to human employees. At least machines do not make customers feel unwelcome for simply asking a question. I strongly urge management and corporate leadership to address this employee's behavior seriously and improve customer service standards at this location. No customer should be spoken to this way for simply asking for help. I would appreciate a response regarding how this issue will be addressed.
