I had a very frustrating experience with Moti Roma. I brought them a chair to be re-strapped and refinished. Then, after telling me it would take two weeks to get done, they ghosted me for three months. I was told there was an emergency at the shop, which I totally understand. I was also having them make new cushions for the chair. I sent very specific references, but when I picked it up, the shape of the cushions were not the right, and the bottom cushion was kind of floating off the seat itself. I mentioned it, but was told that it would settle in to the correct shape. I was dubious, but brought the chair home. The cushion, as I expected, did not settle. I brought the chair back in to have them reshaped to better match my references, which was done free of charge. While they still aren't exactly what I asked for, I appreciate them doing that. However. Today I attempted to take the cushion cover off to clean it. It is nearly impossible to remove, and would have been unbelievably difficult to put back on. It's almost like the cover was sewn around the cushion. I didn't want to write a negative review, but this has pushed me over the edge. Ultimately I am happy with the re-strapping and refinish, but the upholstery/cushion situation was simply too much. read more

The one I had seen online had been sold already but they offered a great price for a custom one they could do in the same style. I would say about half of all my furniture comes from Moti Roma. I own an Airbnb and the pieces from Bryam helped me win a design commendation. The style and vibe of the furniture are perfect for the neighborhood. I would describe it as bohemian modern but it's definitely inspired by mid-century. Bryam is a nice guy and he is always willing to negotiate within reason. That said the prices are definitely reasonable and I own a few custom pieces that were barely over what he charges for retail. Brian and his father we're extremely helpful. My girlfriend and I recently moved in together, and bought 4 pieces of furniture from them including a refurbished mid-century record player credenza that would retail at most stores for ~$1200, for $300. They not only exceeded our expectations in quality and cost, but went above and beyond by dropping off all four items for $10, then helped us move a few of our own pieces to make room. They even serviced the credenza for free when we accidentally damaged it. AND... they're open to trade if you're looking to replace a few of your items like we were while consolidating our apartments. I can't say enough for they're customer service. Their store may be small, but they're a hidden, family run Silverlake gem with a long history that deserves a look. You'll never know what you'll find. If you don't find something be sure to inquire about their custom end tables, and refurbished pieces. Believe me you won't find mid-century furniture anywhere else at competitive prices and certainly with the level of customer service you'll find at Moti Roma. Not sure why they have that one bad review -- especially since the reviewer focuses 95% of they're review on a "UPS access point". Seems a bit strange. If you're looking for unique, budget conscious, refurbished furniture with great customer service and understand this is a small store run by locals who won't rip you off then you've found the right place. They won't solve all of your furniture needs but you're sure to find a couple pieces that will certainly impress even the most burnt out mid-century pickers with their uniqueness. read more
