WORST STORAGE UNIT EVER!!!! Managers are rude, even worse, the Owner (Ben) is selfish, and argues with you instead of empathizing and willing to remedy a situation at hand. They have terrible customer service skills, and should be out of business. In this type of economy, you would think they would like to keep their customers, instead the owner (Ben) thinks he is better than everyone. Look elsewhere for your storage needs! I rented out their truck once before and it was clean and in good working order. The facility in air conditioned and clean. Also, it has short hours, so you need to plan your trips accordingly - but I like this because it means there is less opportunity for your unit to get broken into. I currently use AAA self storage and the employees are very friendly and helpful. The prices are affordable and signing up is quick. The only two things that I could complain about are that I cannot access my storage unit after 6pm weekdays/5pm on weekends which I guess could be considered a good thing for security purposes. The other thing is when you borrow dolly carts you have to go thru a door to the main elevator and to return the cart the same door is locked which forces you to go back outside around to the main lobby to open the door. Some minor inconveniences but I would still recommend them. read more

Last week I traveled to California for the first time to close out my late husband's storage unit. I had no idea what was in the unit, I hadn't the slightest clue if I had the key or what it would look like if I did but I live in Michigan. Traveling 2000 miles with only 4 days for my sentimental self to sort out my late husbands belongings added to my emotional strain. For the past 3 years, although occasionally late....very late, I have called every month to make a payment. There were months i struggled to make payments but I was paranoid that the unit might end up on storage wars. The first month after my husband passed away, I was distraught trying to explain what had happened and scrambling to get the information I needed to take over making the payments. Thank God for people like Edith. She answered my call that first month and handled my concerns and distress with genuine care, empathy and professionalism. When I arrived in California I became a bit emotional and lost my composure driving to the unit. I'm not sure if anyone could tell by the time I walked into the office but I was relieved to hear Edith's familiar voice. She greeted me as if I was a local frequent customer that she had met before. I was so impressed with her personability and immediate recognition of who I was. It amazed me how instantly she acknowledged that she knew my circumstances and made me feel more at ease. I introduced myself officially and expressed my sincere gratitude for all of her help over the years. Especially with the reassurance that the unit wouldn't end up on storage wars on the months I needed to make a late payment. It was great being able to put a face to the voice. Another staff member, Tony, was also incredibly helpful and kind through out the entire process. Top notch customer service, which for me is key. Aside from the wonderful staff, the units are well managed. It is a large temperature controlled facility with indoor units. (I've moved 14 times throughout 4 different states, these storage units are great!) The unit hadn't been opened in 6 + years but with it being indoors and temperature controlled, items are spared from effects like humidity or extreme heat. Both of which can easily take their toll on wood items or vinyl records. Another bonus, the storage facility has all of the items you could need at your convenience: packing boxes, packing tape, sharpie markers, furniture covers, zip ties, dollies, freight elevator for 2nd floor units...AND a moving truck (with great rates) Plus, if you get caught up in life and miss a payment, a text reminder will be sent. All around this really is a great facility. I would recommend them to anyone looking in the area. Edith if you happen to see this, thank you again for your kindness and compassion. No other complaints except that I am going to have to find another place. The hours are too limited. The only way I can visit my unit is to take off work, They are only open bankers hours and closed ALL holidays sometimes for 2 days. They aren't willing to hire 1 person to sit at the front desk to at least to 10pm or early at 6 am to be a better more convenient service escapes me, it's just cheap in my opinion. I went to atleast 5 different places here in Long Beach, and I was not satisfied at all. Everywhere else is dirty and you would never trust them with your belongings. Then finally if found AAA storage, and when I 1st walked into their office I already knew that I would be renting here. They're office was clean and very pleasing. They're staff is amazing. From manager, employees and even the guy that helps clean around the building, they give exceptional service! Totally would trust them with my stuff. And to tell you the truth, at 1st I thought maybe I they would be pricey, but definitely not! Totally affordable! Paying maybe $5 to $10 more than the other dirty places is worth renting here. I've been here for more than 3 months now, and every single time I come, they are always nice and accommodating!
