This company is A+ and we have used them for our Glenview homes often in the past. For our newest residence, we needed a new garage door lock to replace one that locked itself frequently. Geoff arrived and was able to fix our present lock so that we did not have to buy a new one. He also took a look at our Pella sliding door to the patio which we could not open. He showed us the special locking features of this door and we are so happy knowing that it does not have to be replaced. Also, he looked at a garage window that would not lock. We were able to inform our handyman, who fixed the window based on Geoff's experienced knowledge. In an emergency, AAA also succeeds in helping customers. One of us was locked in a room and the door would not open to the hallway in the house, When I called the office, AAA was able to help us work through what to do with the door knob so that the door opened. My husband drop off an old lock that was not working. He asked if it could be fixed and if so he would need keys. He picked it up they told him was fixed. We installed it it didn't work. We called them and they wanted $75 to come out and couldn't guarantee it would work . They would not credit anything. A locksmith at a different place looked at my broken/twisted key earlier and said that it was absolutely impossible to make a copy of it and offered to have my lock re-keyed or replaced. The locksmith at this place was able to make a copy of my broken key and got me out of a real bind. I think this guy has a little bit of magic power. He was polite, helpful and very quick. I recently moved to Glenview and called at the recommendation of my realtor. There was some initial confusion with when the locksmith would arrive, but once he did, he told me that I did not have all the correct keys for the three doors I needed to be rekeyed. I then put each key in each lock and showed him that I did (careless?). Hours later he says he's done and charges over $200 (pricey?). I go to leave, and the garage handle comes off in my hand (lousy work?). It took two more visits to get it corrected, and the man became rude and abusive and said I was lucky that he returned and my handle was at fault (offensive?). Rented a Uhaul from this place and it went smoothly enough until I got in the truck and noticed there was no gas in it. I asked if they could put a little gas in there because the needle was clearly on E and I didn't know how far I could drive the truck. Horrible service - direct from the owners. How will any AAA employee treat a customer properly when the owners treat their customers so poorly? Never been so abandoned by an organization - especially when dealing directly with the owners. Owners provided no resolution other than that I should "try down the street". Not sure if lazy or indifferent but there was a clear problem - their fault - but the entire sum of their initial resolution was to leave me a voice mail saying - I needed to solve the problem. I asked if we could just put in for a service call to have someone come out to our place of business and the woman I was talking to said a tech would have to call us to determine exactly what we needed before coming out (why? Called this outfit down the street from my house June,2016 out of convenience. They claim they have been in business for 46 years hard to believe ! Guy took the entrance door lock apart and fixed a broken spring he said. $120 chge ok for the time spent. Problem solved ... NOT really .Tried entering the other day and key didn't turn the lock to engage it. Called Fri and left a call back number.No call Mon so called again and the lady said she would look up the service number and call me back. She did and told me that the original tech would call me back but said he at the time said we would need. New mortise lock if rest doesn't work ($650)... no such luck never felled back . I called around got Chgo locksmiths,and called Ashland lock decided on Chgo locksmiths that simply installed a new cylinder in 20 minutes($45) so why didn't the AAA guy do that 1st.Frankly I didn't want the 1st tech to call me back I wanted someone else.. read more

Awful. The woman who answered the phone must have graduated from the "Soup Nazi School of Customer Service." The tech must still be a student, be cause he wasn't nearly as bad, but repeatedly told me how busy he was and that he didn't have a lot of time. It was a straight forward rekeying of three locks on a house we just moved into. Now I understand a rekeying does not include repair, but within two days one of the locks was inoperable. I'm pretty sure the condition was pre existing, but he should have at least told me and let me decide if I was willing to pay more to have it fixed. Another lock was so full of gunk, I could not use the latch from the outside. Again, he did not cause the gunk, but how can a locksmith rekey a lock without lubricating it? Seriously, even my 5 year old daughter knows how to use WD-40 on a lock. To top it off, when he called me for payment he said I could either give him my credit card number over the phone or call the office. I asked which was easier for him and he said it didn't matter. Of course when I told him I would simply give him the info he sighed more dramatically than my aforementioned 5 year old. I don't understand how this place is still in business. read more

This is the first time I have yelped, as I have not had service bad enough until now. Absolutely agree with previous reviews that the woman who answered the phone was rude and completely uninviting. It was certainly noticeable. A locksmith was sent out within hours today, which was nice, but he was ridiculously bad. I believe his name was Luis. He looked at the lock for two minutes, took a picture of it with his phone, and told me it would be about $650 for a new lock. I purchased the current one at Lowes for $125. It would not lock and I thought he would actually mess with it to see what was wrong. He really only touched it briefly once and said I needed a whole new lock. It was completely awkward, and at one point I thought I was being punkd. He literally left 5 minutes later. After he left, I messed with it a bit more myself and got it unstuck myself.
