Gary is great. I've dealt with my fair share of locksmiths over the years having management multiple rental properties. In this instance I needed deadbolts swapped out and upgraded from the old school manual to newer digital version. The newer version had a larger deadbolt Than the one currently installed on my doors, this the hole had to be re-drilled larger. I was not comfortable doing that. Gary had straight forward pricing and was very easy to schedule. Other places tend to have hidden fees and end up charging you more than originally quoted- so their prices seem cheaper upfront to get your business but ends up being more expensive. After Gary updated two deadbolts to the digital versions the price came out exactly as quoted. He also rekeyed everything on the same key in the event the key is ever needed. I'm always hesitant when people say there's a service charge to give you a estimate. They "can't give you even a rough estimate without coming out to see what needs to be done." No matter how much you tell them, or how many pictures you send, they won't even give you a ball park of how much it will cost. "I've had my fair share of paying service fees and then receiving a ridiculous quote for a job. Gary charges $65 service fee and gave me a rough estimate of $270 for everything I needed to have done. I felt that was more than fair so I made a appointment. After he finished a perfect job and cleaned up, He then tells me my total was only going to be $200?!? Also, since I'm a yelp customer i would receive a additional 10% off!! First impression: extremely easy to schedule. I called around 5pm on Tuesday to ask for a re-key appointment for Friday. Gary told me that I could do it Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, or even the same day. I had already planned for Friday but appreciated the flexibility. Gary to the rescue! After a failed attempt with another locksmith I sent a quote request via Yelp and Gary called me just a few minutes later. I locked my keys in my garage so that was problem number one. On top of that I had multiple doors where I was frustrated with the locks because they were hard to get the key in and turn and I had way too many keys for just three doors. I figured since I had to have a locksmith come open the garage that I'd just replace all the locks too so I could have just one key. I was ready for a major bill but when Gary arrived we talked about what I wanted and he ended up rekeying or resetting my existing locks and giving me multiple copies of a new key that works in all the locks AND turned smoothly and effortlessly in the locks. ONE OF THE FEW LOCKSMITHS WILLING TO WORK ON MOTORCYCLES ON LOCATION! I contacted 4 other locksmiths, and all of them said that they will not work on re-keying a motorcycle, much less meet me at the garage where my bike was being stored. A little background info, I have an older motorcycle that was purchased from a private buyer years ago. I recently moved and lost my motorcycle keys somewhere during the transition. I called a few dealerships, but none of them were able to help. So my only other option was to call a locksmith. I messaged Gary through yelp and he responded immediately. I told him my situation and he was able to quote me a VERY fair price. Right then and there I made an appointment. He showed up exactly ON TIME! Being late for appointments are a pet peeve of mine, so this was greatly appreciated! He was incredibly FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL! For whatever reason, my elderly father decided to start up the lawnmower and proceed to mow the lawn, which was incredibly loud and distracting, while Gary was working on my bike. He didn't seem to mind the distraction, and even cracked a few jokes after I kept embarrassingly apologizing for my dad. He is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. He was able to take apart the gas cap lock on my bike and make new copies of my keys from that, all the while explaining each step of the process. After reassembling the gas cap lock, he would have me test each copied key in the ignition, as well as the seat and helmet locks (all use the same key) to verify that each of the copies work.
