After returning home from working out of state the past month, I came home to a non working garage door opener. I attempted to troubleshoot the problem myself without success. I contacted MF Solutions from Yelp to see if they could help. I knew that my 16 year old garage door opener likely needed replacement. Max arrived same day as I contacted him (on a Saturday), and after making sure it wasn't related to home electrical issues, we decided to go with a new garage door opener that has WiFi capability to connect to my connected home device and be able to operate the garage door from wherever I am (helps for amazon deliveries when I'm not at home). He came early Monday with his team and had it installed and operating in under an hour. Max and his team replaced my opener, rail, wall control and outside opener as well as replacing the wheels and lubricating all the garage door components. He also set up both my remotes. He even helped me set up my opener to the WiFi and had me test it on my phone that it was functional before he left. I was worried who I hired initially since my door is 10ft tall but he was very knowledgeable and friendly and even recommended the right opener for the weight of my door. I was going to cut the grass in the morning before the rain, well the garage door would not open, no access to lawnmower. Took a while to find door keys, and then looked and no lights or clicking when trying to use the remote or switch inside garage. After a few hours of youtube videos and troubleshooting, I called MF Solutions, asked to see if they can send someone out and what the service call would cost to troubleshoot the issue, and I agreed, they would send some one out soon. Stan showed up in less than 1/2 hour, he went through the same troubleshooting I had done, and he said it was the (Craftsman) unit/power supply. He could reorder one, or just replace the opener unit with a chain or belt drive (Chamberlin) unit, I wanted to keep it the same a chain drive unit, he had one in the truck, I agreed to the quote and in 1 hour garage door was opening and closing fine, before he left he also lubed the door, Super silent door operation, super fast work, and super customer service. They do raise the bar on customer service and go beyond, like some reviews mentioned. The only thing I wish I would have kept from the new unit would have been the sensors as spares, in case I need them in the future, since the original ones I have are working fine and I had just cleaned and tested them as part of my youtube troubleshooting. Needed a new bottom rubber seal on my door. Called another garage door company in Schaumburg. The tech told told me it was a non-standard door and he did not know whether he could fix it. He took some pictures and measurements and said he'd see what he could do and call me back. He called the next day and said he could not do anything. Although he did not try to sell me a new door, I thought that's what I would need to do. Then I called MF Solutions.
