This guy was very kind and very accommodating. I had a broken cable on my garage door, so I couldn't open it manually and the car was trapped. He returned my call fairly quickly, and squeezed in a trip to fix my door at the end of the day on a Friday. He got things fixed up quickly and charged a fair price. I was thinking about replacing the door soon, but he actually told me that with these fixes, it's still got plenty of life in it. Tom is responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, and he does good work at the right price. Hard to beat that! read more

This small business lives up to its name! I've used Tom to install a new garage door opener, change rollers, redo seal. Most recently, my garage spring broke, and he came within an hour on a holiday weekend to fix it! Ironically, my sister had the same issue come up the following weekend, and he drove outside of his normal service area to help her. He is prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, professional. Really takes pride in his work and gives service with a smile. Pricing is very reasonable, and he's even given me discounts for being a repeat customer. So glad I found him! read more

I called Tom. He responded right away. He stopped by my house, gave me a fair price. He replaced my broken spring and did some maintenance work on the garage. I asked him if he could look at my son's garage close by and he agreed. He got my son's garage door working again and gave some honest professional advice on just getting it going and not doing wasteful work on the opener. Again he did some maintenance work and was on his way. Tom was knowledgeable, honest and very professional. I highly recommend Tom and 5 Star Garage Door. read more

Based on positive reviews I decided to give Tom a try. Despite being late in the day, he answered the phone right away and was willing to come over that evening, but it wasn't an emergency so he came over early the next morning. He quickly diagnosed the issue and made the necessary repairs on the spot. Tom didn't oversell and his pricing was very reasonable. Tomer just installed my new garage door and opener, and the results were fantastic. I couldn't be happier with the end result. He originally came out for measuring, design consultation, and an estimate. Tomer was not only the least costly out of the 3 companies I had bid on the project, but he's also the owner/operator. I will always support small businesses when I can. In addition to the garage door, he also suggested the appropriate opener and installed. On installation day, Tomer was prompt and efficient. He had the door and opener installed and working beautifully in about 4 hours. He also removed the old, wood garage door and opener. Job site was clean when he left. In addition he hooked up my internal car bluetooth system with the new opener. All in all I could not have asked for a better outcome. I would 100% recommend Tomer for your next garage door install. read more

My garage door broke and I found 5 star on yelp and saw the amazing reviews. When I called, they happened to be 2 blocks from my house and came to rescue me and fix our garage door within 5 minutes of me calling! 5 star is extremely professional, quick, and reliable/.trustworthy. I was also charged a very fair price. There is no reason to ever use anyone else for garage door repairs. Thank you so much for coming and fixing my garage door so quickly! You really saved us (and the garage door is working perfectly again!) read more

Tom was great. Easy appointment setup and came the next morning. Replaced seal on my garage door and filled ends with steel wool to help prevent rodents from chewing all the way through new seal. Offered suggestions on him to remedy the issue we were having. It was nice to get this done and was a great value to give us piece of mind. I would recommend 5 Star for the fast response, ease of booking appointment and quality work. Thank you Tom! read more

Tomer did it again! I'm glad I saved his number from several years ago. Some guests damaged my garage door and Tomer was able to come by within a couple of hours to fix the issue. My double garage door got stuck in semi open position at the "perfect time"- the coldest day we had this year- negative 5 this Tuesday. I posted request for service on Yelp and had several companies responding quickly. 5 Star Garage Door was one of them. Surprisingly I had used their service 4 years ago and had forgotten about it. Tom did a great job, the steel cable was all mingled and partially cut. Did very nice job and the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend their service for quality and price. Thank you. read more

Came out the next day and installed our garage door opener. Did an awesome job. I highly recommend using this business.

My garage door equipment was about 20 yrs old and finally stopped working. I had Tom replace just about everything but the door itself. He installed a new garage door operator, the wall switch, keypad, some door brackets and the track wheels. Overall he exceeded my expectations. He was affordable and professional. He explained what he was doing and delivered more than he charged me for. This is exactly the experience I hope for when hiring professionals. I highly recommend Tom and 5 Star Garage Door. He is the only one I will call for future garage work. read more

I've used Tomer twice now and can't recommend enough! Two different issues and he's been great both times.

Tom was very friendly and prompt! I contacted him and he came by the very next day to tune up our garage door. Great service!

Answered my call after hours, set and appointment for first thing the following morning. Tom arrived on time and addressed a concern about my double garage doors and the way they were mounted (was worried about safety). Tom immediately dispelled my concerns. Told me that everything was in good order and that any work would be unnecessary... didn't try to up-sell me either! Gave me advice on a few other questions and even supplied me with a new remote and connected it (old one wasn't working). I am a customer for life!!! read more

It's been a while since my garage door was serviced. One of the cables that pulls up the door jumped the track. I called Tom on Saturday and he came out Monday. Punctual and professional, he explained what happened and considering the amount of work he did, gave me a more than fair price. A great business I'd work with again in a New York minute. Highly recommended! read more

Superb quality garage door company. I highly recommend Tom and his garage service. He is prompt, does high quality job and is very nice on top of it all. I used his service at multiple locations that I manage and every time he provided excellent service. read more

The very best! I called Tom after the very local (literally seven blocks away), garage door company that popped up on a search as being around the corner -- blew me off. There is nothing worse than waiting around for someone to show and nada...no call, no text. Rude! Searched again and 5 Star popped up and had excellent reviews, so I called them. Tom is the nicest guy and so knowledgeable. He wasn't able to come out the day I called. However, he was there bright and early the next day and was in and out in about an hour or so. My new garage door opener works like a charm and I would not hesitate to recommend Tom to anyone. I now have a new go-to for anything garage door-related. It's not a service you need all the time, but when you do, you want someone experienced. I can say for certain that you will not be disappointed with Tom. Thanks Tom. read more

Tomer is the best he fixed all our issues right away and gave us great advice, fixed a few small things he did not have too we recommend very highly. read more

Had to repair the garage door bracket that holds the door opener to the wall, after a problem stemming fromanother company putting in an under-sized spring. The resulti of that was a sheared metal bracket and a big hole in my garage wall above the door. Tom came out very quickly and figured it all out, and did a great job at making everything solid and stable in very little time. I'll definitely hire him again when the need arises. read more

Fantastic customer service - answered the phone on Memorial Day and came out the next day. It was implied he would come out if it was an emergency on the holiday, but I made it clear that it was not. Good to know I have a place to call if we ever do have a garage emergency. Showed up right on time, and returned within the window given. Great communication throughout. Anyway, he came out and saw we had a large, heavy custom 9-ft door. The busted spring was not standard/stocked size. He measured and came back 3 hours later with a custom cut spring and got it installed quickly. I was given pricing ahead of the spring being ordered and given the all-in price. I'm new-ish to the burbs and still getting used to zip code sticker shock, but I felt like the value was good. Was worried I'd be hit with an estimate that would hurt summer plans but that was not the case at all. Very good experience overall. read more
