Quick service, straight-forward, decently priced. I would recommend this place to anyone if you want to get your car smog tested (and pass), without all the hassle of crooked mechanics trying to ply your money from your unemployed, recession-depressed hands. read more

This place is the best! Fast, nice and clean. You guys are the bomb... keep up the great job.

I researched a bit on the Interweb and discovered that this was the cheapest smog check in town. There was a bit of a wait when I came, but the process was quick when it was my car's turn. There's a couple of seats and a TV in the waiting area. My car passed and I have no complaints. It seems the negative reviews occur when your car doesn't pass. I'll probably come again the next time I need a smog check, but if I have any doubts it will pass I'll probably consider another place! read more

People are nice. But will fail u if u show that u have a coupon. Then tell u to come back in 24 hours & then they will pass u. They do this do u pay regular price for the smog check. Soooo sad. read more

I took my car in, they did the smog check, everything went fast and well. I totally and highly recommend AA Smogs, and I will go there again in two years! read more

Smog check only took minutes and it was the best price in the area. Recommend coming - did the job and updated my paperwork. read more

They were extremely quick and efficient. Good customer service and a good deal with the Yelp coupon.

easy to access, very nice people and fast service at a fair price. am very happy with the experience. read more

Printed out the coupon, rolled in at 9 am. There was a car ahead and so you have to wait to keep your place. Then in for a check. The staff are friendly and the price was great. read more

My car failed because the OBDII was not ready. They told me it must be because I changed my battery, but that isn't true. They then charged me an extra $8.75for a certificate even though I didn't receive one, as I didn't pass the smog test. I didn't notice till afterwards. Also, If you use an online coupon, they will NOT retest for free, even though it says they will on the paperwork. read more

Manuel was Fast, Friendly and Terrific ... I would recommend him to everyone in our neighborhood .... Great Guy !!!

Chris at AA Smog was great....even though there were two cars ahead of me for a smog check, I got in and out in less time then quoted. Very helpful and friendly...would definately recommend them to others. read more

The posting on 3/3/2011 demonstrates a real lack of reasonable customer service at this business. At the very least, the proprietor owes an offended customer an apology and explanation for why they made they acted the way that they did. No matter what, if they treat customers in a way that is disrespectful, they hurt both that individual and themselves through propagating a negative impression of their business. read more

I had a great experience at AA Smogs. They were very friendly. Very quick and easy and gave me all the proper paperwork. They also helped reattach a hose that was detached. They honored the yelp coupon with no issues, $40 flat rate. read more

These guys were very rude and after my car failed they told me that they would pass it if I pay 180 dollars. I could not believe it. I will never go back there. I think they failed my car on purpose. read more

Their appearance was sketchy when I pulled up, but I let them check my car anyway. Turns out smog laws automatically fail the smog check, so they performed the smog check, charged the full price and then told me about the check engine light rule. They did offer a $10 re-test, another rip-off. If they were reputable, they would have told me about the engine light before testing and not charged me until that was fixed and offered a free re-test. Needless to say, I am not going back. read more

Although I didn't get service done here, I changed my rating from 1 to 3 because Alex cared enough to check the reviews and made comments. That's a good start of running an honest business. 2 stars for Alex. read more

Customer service needs a lot more attention. I showed up at 10 and he was a little busy. Understandable as I had no appt. He told me to come back in 45 min there were 3 cars ahead of me. I noted that I had an appointment at 12. He said no problem he would squeeze me in if needed. Good start...,I return 45 min later to find what looked to be the last car in the parking lot before I left and thought good timing... That was until he took his friend in the Ferrari that showed up at the same time...not the big a deal I still had time to get to my appointment. He finishes with the Ferrari and then as I think I am next he decides to take his other friends car. I only note they may be friends as they have all been talking/joking around in the parking lot for the last half. He says your next and I state I have my app. at 12 and I can't wait. "Sorry about that" rather pay the extra 10.00 for the better service 1 block away. read more

THIS IS A SCAM! Do not fall victim to these people. I went in a while back and my car failed the smog. As I was walking back to my car, a man who worked there stopped me and whispered that he could "pass" my car for another $200. I declined and he walked away irritated. These people should be shut down for poor business practices. Or someone should call the cops. read more

They have smog tested my cars for the past 10 years.....always very professional each time until today....fraud...their website specifically states they will smog any vehicle for $40 up to 10k gross weight. As I pulled into the parking area, to the left of the shop rollup door, as I saw there was another vehicle partially parked on the dyno, the "tech" immediately before my vehicle was stopped, briskly approached my drivers door as if to block my ability to exit the vehicle. The tech asked if he could help me, I advised I was there for a smog test.......now the parking lot itself was absent of any other vehicles, no one else was standing nearby....he somewhat nervously looked towards the shop area, then looked back at me as I handed him my DMV info, coupon, etc. ...the Tech pointed to the coupon that said up to 5k lbs...and it would be more for this and this and this.......he attempted to and without permission open my locked door...I told him to remove his hand from my vehicle......he stated it was to show me my vehicles gross weight....I replied "I know my vehicles gross weight"......I advised I was a long term customer with past receipts on me to show previous billing rates...he interrupted and forcefully directed that he was following his bosses orders and "don't get made at him", I explained I am not mad at him & perhaps he should call his boss....he stated, "I don't have time to do that type of shit- I am not calling anybody" and in a rushed pace, went back into the shop area.....I backed my vehicle out to the boulevard and drove away as this was not what I would consider a "safe" or "comfortable" environment....especially since the vehicle that was partially parked on the dyno, was unattended, the engine was not running nor were there any test devices connected to the vehicle. This all occurred with 2 minute duration in the parking lot......this really makes myself think that there was something going on in the shop that the "tech" did not want an outsider to see/witness. This is an individual with IMHO potential anti-social skills and potential anger management issues which as a former (retired) professionally trained and certified public safety officer recognized and recommend not engaging in any business with this establishment.. read more

I had my smog check down at this location today for $40 OTD. In and out in just a few minutes. Most places charge $60 or more for the same inspection. read more

Alex was really helpful and big Lakers fan, plus $20 bucks off makes this place a no brainer to check out. Passed!

Best deal in town for a smog check. $40 with coupon, fast and quick and efficient and clean! Nice guys there. Thank you! Would come back again for a smog check. read more

Spoke with Urban on the phone and he was very professional, and scheduled a time to come in the best part is there usually is little to no wait and within 20 minutes you are in and out. My car failed the first time and he referred me to Pacific Coast Tire and Service in Santa Monica who was able to fix my car and gave me the best price in town to fix it. All around great service and no gimics with this place HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I checked 3 test only smog inspection locations, and it seemed like the norm was to charge as much as they could get while promising their price was absolutely the lowest. I got the lowest quote from AA smogs Test Only Center and went expecting them to boost their price after I paid and got hooked up to their machine. Instead I passed and it was indeed the absolute best price and courteous service. They even gave me a free pen! read more

Irvin acknowledged me as soon as I got there and advised me how long it would be. He was informative, quick to assist and friendly. The best deal with the coupon. Thanks for making the process painless. read more

Fastest and cheapest smog ever! Dealt with Irvin. He was very nice and friendly. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes! Thanks for everything! read more

in and out in 5 minutes with no appointment. fantastic. used online coupon. very friendly.

I got a smog check here and was very satisfied with the service I received. there were a few cars ahead of me, but they were still quick and got the job done in a timely manner. I felt safe and the staff was friendly and their prices are very reasonable with the online coupon. I would definitely go back to AA Smogs and would recommend it to others. read more

This place is great. I recently moved to Cali from NYC and had to get two of my cars smogged to register them in LA. One car is 14 years old and the other is 1 year old. Both in good shape with no check engine lights so I didn't expect any issues with Smog test. Both passed with no issues. Chris was nice and curtious and I was in and out in 10 minutes with each car at different times (one car I did on Friday afternoon and another on Saturday morning about a week later). Paid the regular price so can't comment on coupons and such. Would use or recommend them without hesitation. read more

HELL NO ! ! ! ! They rejected my car because they said the catalytic converter was not factor original. Hell No is an understatement. I got the car smogged 24 Hrs later at a different shop. It passed right away and the new mechanic said the catalytic converter is a factory made part, which is contrary to what the Bums at AA Smog said. The bastards tried to run a scam on me and the Bureau of Automotive Repair will be hearing from me in a formal complaint to shut them down for fraud. These bastards need to be shut down. They will try to run a scam on you if they think they can get away with it. Save yourself the headache and the money they charge for the cheap thrill they get from ripping people off. read more

Best service. Irvin nice and informative. I will recommend to all my friends. I will return when needed.

Highly recommended. Very reasonable with coupon. Polite, friendly and fast.

A friend had told me to download a coupon from the AA Smog website and that it was the best deal in town. I did as instructed and took my car in for a smog check today, first thing in the morning. There was no wait; my car passed the smog check and I was done in less than 15 minutes. Irvin was the one whom I spoke with in the office. He was really nice and the whole process was entirely painless, as it should be!! read more

I had a great experience with AA Smog! I went in early this morning, and they had everything completed within 20 minutes. In and out in 15 minutes, totally painless. Came on a Sat morning at 9:00, with no wait. Nice guys, reasonable price, pleasant experience. I just showed them the coupon I found on the web on my iphone when I got there. They said it didnt actually apply to my large SUV because of the weight, but agreed to honor price without any hassle or begging. At $40 flat, it was the cheapest price I found for a smog test. Not sure what others experienced, but I will be back for sure. No complaints, give them a try. read more
