I don't think I've ever written a negative review, but the owner here was over-the-top rude. I called to ask about a smog check and I showed up within 10 minutes. The guy said it was $80 and before I could even react, he said "well let me close up because I'd rather go home than wait for you to decide." And then he proceeded to close up the shop and drove away. Worst customer service. I would have done it, but have never gotten a smog check for more than $50, so I hesitated for a split second and apparently that was too much for him to handle. Would not recommend. read more

This man, Ali, is supposed to be a professional. He ran the smog test when the "engine light" was showing on the dash. He did not tell me to first take it to the mechanic. I did not understand but he knew it would fail and that would make me come back a second time, at more expense to me, to have the car pass the smog test. This is trickery and shows a greedy and manipulative attitude. Ali then tried to convince me with "tech speak" as to how he was obliged to do this. I had called BAR and they said it was NOT obligatory to run it the first time. I saw through his explanation immediately and know a con when I experience one. He tried to baffle me with science. Wow, i have been to this place for all my smog checks over the last 18 yrs i lived in this area. Never had a problem. The man is a bit of a pig with food hanging from his mouth as he spoke to me but i looked away and dealt with it. He was incredibly rude and after i told him so continued trying to man 'splain a form that i could read. I wanted nothing more than to get out of there. I will get smog checks near work from now on. Unable to give a good review as despite numerous searches indicating that K & K Smog opened at 9 am on Saturday, I found they did not. I planned my day to start by getting my smog check done here but arrived at 9:05 am to find it all closed up. I tried calling the number as well and was directed to a voicemail box. I called at 5pm on a Wednesday and he said he could do the smog check for both of our two cars without an appointment. Great news for us and since only down the street got there within 10 min. (50 minutes before he closed for evening). He saw both of our vehicles promptly and got us the form we needed for the DMV. We were both in & out and home within 30 minutes. He accepted the coupon online that saved us $30! We showed him the coupon before he started servicing our cars. This meant we did our smog check for $80 total - a savings we appreciated. Oh and great customer service too - my husband made the left turn into his shop in rush hour no problem. I however, needed to go down to Washington to turn around and make it a right turn into his shop. A guy ended up pulling in behind my husbands' car and in front of me during my turn around time - the owner asked him to back up and wait since our cars were together. That was very nice of him and for that type of service, this place is 5 stars. Definitely would recommend coming here if you need your smog check for the State of California. read more

I spent 3 hours at a DMV appointment this morning trying to register my car from Illinois to California only to be told that I needed a smog testing (even though I swear to you I called the DMV and was told by some degenerate that I didn't need it since my car was a 2018 model). guy failed my car car because he didn't decide to look through the aftermarket parts list all the way... I come back and this other guy gives me the run around and essentially gives me no service because he doesn't really work there or something. Came here again at 830, which is when they open, and no one is here. Had to wait for another 45 minutes which is beyond me as to why they even advertise being open at 830. All in all, very disappointed and I will never be coming back here again. Smog experiences are never great but man this place is the epitome of terrible service. read more
