This place does not pass the smog test or any other test. I have taken my Honda there every 2 years since 2016. No issues, always passed. Today, I am selling the car and needed a smog check. The person in there seemed nice enough but he came back to tell me there was no Serial Number posted on the Catalytic convertor as required by Law. He said he can test but would have to fail it. I had no idea what he was talking about as I have had it tested there every 2 years since 2016 and never an issue. I noticed that he never looked under the car for the catalytic convertor where it is but was inspecting the Muffler!! .Somehow this guy couldn't tell the muffler from the CAT. I took it to another place and they got under the car, got the serial number and passed the test. No matter how much I tried to be logical with the tech at UniSmog he just interrupted me and insisted I do something else or go somewhere else/ and adamantly REFUSED to PASS my car without the serial number on the CAT. I went somewhere else..no problem. I suggest you take your car to a place where the tech/secretary/ or whatever he was, KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN a MUFFLER and a CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. read more

For those of you who have been going to this place for a long time (I have been going for 16 years) - this is NO LONGER the place you came to appreciate. The Manager we knew has retired and has been replaced with one of the most unhelpful people ever. I brought my car in for its smog check and was instead treated to a patronizing and nonsensical string of words. Unismog was treated to my $52 and I was given 10 days to bring it back in for another retest at just $10 - with again no reason/explanation as to why it didn't pass to begin with - I like to vote with my dollar and if I can save you some $ by choosing NOT to go there - well, my good deed. I will eat the $ before ever going back or recommending them as I did in the past. read more

I've used them for both smog checks and for registrations, and if you're willing to pay a small premium they're WAY better than the DMV. I am new to area. I put the address in my GPS. And off I go. (I had a coupon to go "elsewhere".) My GPS tells me "You have arrived". I see the SMOG CHECK sign. I turn in. Friday afternoon 1pm not busy. He tells me to fill out paperwork and I tell him Oh and I have a coupon. I ask him what all he needs I'm new here. This is new registration to CA. A few minutes later he comes back and says "I usually don't accept coupons for new out of state registration AND this coupon is NOT even mine...it's for across the street.
