A GREAT place to bring your car for a smog check! The guy working here is super cool! I think this is a one man shop, but there wasn't anyone when I got there so I was seen right away! I was in and out pretty fast. This place is in a strip mall shared with a bunch of other auto shops.. so there's tons of cars in here waiting for different services. I like this place and have been recommending it to my friends who work in the area. read more

I've been going to Kenny for several years now, probably about 6 times now. Out of those times I don't believe I ever had to wait. He starts right away and does his job thoroughly. My cars have always passed. Kenny is quick and complete. His shop is located among a line of other garages. It's a little crowded and you just need to know that the driveway is one way. Turn in off the side street and arrive at Smog Express down toward the end. I'm writing this review because I really like the service. Can you believe I actually look forward to getting my car smogged! It's true!!! read more

Great shop I was in and out in 25 minutes. The only hard part was the shop is in a strip mall that has a 1 way drive way. You have to get lucky since there isn't a lot of parking. Luckily there was no wait for me. I logged into the dmv an hour later and my results had already shown up. read more

I called before coming in to make sure I didn't need an appointment. The owner was super friendly and told me to come on over. I waited a few minutes while another car was finishing up. The total time there was less than 30 minutes. The owner has a positive, calm and sweet demeanor. He seems to love what he does! I highly recommend this place!!! You will not regret it. read more

I was looking for a smog check place close to work, so Smog Express Test Only popped up on Google. I called to see if they had an opening as I did not have a lot of time. Kenny said he was open with nobody waiting. He took my vehicle description and gave me directions. Upon my arrival, I saw a car waiting to get tested, but Kenny was holding the spot for me. He waved me in, drove my car into the bay and tested my car. Test was $45, which was very reasonable. Jumping ahead two weeks, my trucked needed to get smogged. I called Kenny in the morning to find out his hours, Kenny remembered me. Told him i'd be in around 5:15PM. On my way over (around 5:10PM), Kenny called to tell me there was no wait. A couple minutes later, I arrived and pulled right in for the test. I believe in customer service, Kenny has that down. I found the only smog station I will need. I'm not going anywhere else. Kenny is a hard working guy trying to support his family, very honorable in today's world. I will send all my family and friends to Kenny, I'm certain they will not be disappointed. Amazing! Received the dreaded smog letter in the mail from the dmv so what's the first thing you do? Yelp a place near your work and win! Didn't have an appointment so had to wait for he car in front of me. When it actually came to my turn it was faster than the waiting itself ... I mean when do you ever get faster and better service just by waiting a few minutes??? $50 bucks later out the door and happy. Nice Korean guy that obviously takes pride in what he does and is a master at it. No questions asked the best and only place to get a smog done in the South Bay or even in Southern California. Make sure you go to the smog test stall at the end of the row of car repair places in my picture. Yah the place isn't pretty with nice furniture but again it's the opposite of dealing with the dmv in that it's quick and effective and stress free! 6 stars!!! read more

I saw the reviews, I messaged through Yelp for a quote. Kenny replied in like 5 minutes (maybe less). Quoted me $45 to smog my car. Showed up, pulled straight in, and was out in less than 20 minutes. The results were sent in electronically and the DMV (and AAA) already had the results before I could drive over to renew my registration. Super fast, great service, reasonably priced. Like others have said, the parking is kinda tricky, you need to enter off 131st I believe. The Inglewood side is Exit only. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone in need of a smog test. read more

This place is fast and reasonably priced. I called Kenny answered and told me to come in. All was taken care of in less than 15 min. Def would go again. Of note, there are 2 smog centers when Smog Test Express is. Make sure you go to the right one. Just ask for Kenny! read more

Kenny was super nice and crazy fast. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. He even complimented my old truck, which was unnecessary but I'm grateful for it. One note: he absolutely prefers cash, which I'm fine w/. If you find yourself w/o paper money there is a Chevron on the corner of El Segundo/Inglewood that you can take a stroll to that has an atm inside. He'll be done w/ your vehicle when you get back. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. read more

Kenny was great and provides excellent service. Called to make sure he wasn't busy and pulled in when I showed up. He worked on my car and another in parallel and out of nowhere he handed me my paperwork. Fast and inexpensive smog that passed! Only con I could come up with is it can be difficult to find parking, the lot is small. read more

I made an appointment through their website, very user friendly, and received a confirmation text shortly after. I decided I needed to modify my appointment, there didn't seem to be an option to do it on the website, so I texted the number back and asked to change my appointment, this was done quickly without issues. I arrived to my appointment 10 mins early. Dru was very helpful, friendly and professional. He entered my car's info into the system, and once my car passed the smog check, everything was updated and entered into the system already so that when I pay my registration, the DMV (or in my case, AAA) will see that my car passed the smog test. In case the system isn't updated, I was provided with a hard copy certificate to prove that it passed. My entire appointment took 10mins altogether, can't beat that! Pricing was fair and affordable, depends on the year of your car. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a quick smog check station.

Herbert was a big help for me with getting my 2016 Honda accord touring fixed. I had taken it to…read moremultiple mechanics AND the dealer, and no one could tell me exactly what my issue was and just be straight with me. I had an emissions system issue that gave me the code 'P0139'. The first mechanic I took it to last year told me that it was a simple o2 sensor issue (rightfully so considering the code I was getting), yet when he replaced the sensor, the light continually came on. So he replaced it again, and replaced another o2 sensor on the vehicle (according to him). When none of that worked, he told me that my catalytic converter was faulty, and that I was going to have to pay roughly 8k for a new one. Safe to say I didn't believe him, nor did I stick around and simply take his word for it. I started making calls and, at first, genuinely believed that I was going to have to come up with the 8k by summer 2026 (when my smog inspection was due). I thought at one point I was sold a faulty vehicle too and even tried to receive compensation for the error. Turns out that wasn't the case, and even if it was, there wasn't much I could about it anymore. I took it to others who quoted me ridiculous prices for a simple diagnostic, I took it to others that just simply couldn't tell me what was wrong, and then to make things more confusing, the light would go on and off and would even go off long enough for me to pass smog!!! (Even though the first guy I went to said my catalytic converter was bad). Then, I looked online and found Master Tech. Great reviews, great location in the South Bay (Torrance), and fair pricing. Diagnostic was about 160, which would go toward repairs if needed, and if they couldn't find the issue I'd pay zero dollars! When I first got there, already Herbert pointed out things no mechanic pointed out before. I was told and under the impression that all my sensors were new and changed... they weren't. He also informed me that my vehicle was an American built one (not Japanese or Canadian, which I heard can make all the difference in quality). That's information that, although wasn't a huge concern, let me know that this guy paid attention to detail and really cared about what he was doing. He then told me to leave it with him later on in the week so he could give the vehicle TLC (tender love and care), and to be comfortable with not having my vehicle for a couple days (wasn't a problem at all). Eventually he gets back to me after a day and lets me know that the sensor had to be changed out with an oem one, as the previous mechanic put in an aftermarket one. On the day that I picked the car up and paid for the install, we both hopped in and took it for a ride, and the engine was running smooth like butter now. No more rich running (causing my gas to burn faster), and no more harsh shifting. He then hands me over the old sensor and informs me that I should go get my money back from the other mechanic. It turns out, the other guy was trying to screw me over (surprise, surprise!), whereas Herbert was honest and righteous. The piece the other mechanic put in was a Bosch sensor, made specifically for German made vehicles. Smh. It was for VOLKSWAGENS and the like ONLY. He was just trying to get me to pay him thousands, and perhaps allow me to further damage my engine and transmission from the issues he was forcing my vehicle to go thru for the time that it wasn't working properly due to a lazy, incompatible o2 sensor. I was relieved that I found Herbert who was able to help me and install the correct piece for a fair price (443 roughly, as opposed to the almost 700 dollars the dealer would've tried to charge me). I like his style, and he is definitely a righteous mechanic. Thank you bro!

So this was a great experience getting an oil change for a Land Rover. Even with all that, Cyrus stuck to his original quote and never tried to charge us more, which we really appreciated. Jaime and Jesus handled the installation of the air handler, ductwork, and heat pump. They worked hard, were very respectful of our home, kept things clean, and honestly were much quieter doing the work than I expected considering all the cutting and installation involved. They also worked hard to finish ahead of the timeline they originally gave us. Inspection passed with no issues, and now we've been using the AC for months with zero problems. My wifes car needed to be smoged (the dreded somg test) so I typed in SMOG TEST and a bunch of places came up one of which was just around the corner at 131st and Inglewood ave. a lot closer than the place I had been going to, which gave me a bad experience the last time I was their. Read the comments and decided to give Kenny a call. made an appointment for the next morning (today), got their at 7:45 he opens at 8:00 He got their at 7:55 and wanted to know if I had been waiting long. Told him that i've been waiting about an hour and that I was pissed. We laughed, he opened up and I was done 15 minutes. Paid him, he gave me the certificate and I was out of their. I thought that it was nice of him to ask if I had been waiting long even though he was early. He knows what he is doing, didn't make me wait while he got a cup of coffee and treated my wifes car as if it were his own. More importantly, he didn't mind answering questions. being a car guy and a retired electronics engineer I am interested in these things. read more
