I went in to do a smog check for my 2016 Prius and the owner was so accommodating and fast. I paid $60 for the smog check. I'm definitely going to go back to him every time I need a smog check. read more

Standard smog check. Tech opinion, He said that I will remove cats once smogged. That sir is an accusation of an illegal activity which I told him so. I am 58 and disabled. I had to make some repairs to my exhaust, including replacing leaking exhaust connection and flange seal. I was treated as if I'm guilty of a crime when all I wanted was to be all good to pass my smog check. I left the facility disheartened and I will probably never go again because a young man said that I would do something illegal with my vehicle once I got smogged. I have used this shop a few times since my local shops cannot smog my 1999 Chevy. Never once did I have an issue but seems like younger generation DGAD. Price wise always a good fast choice. Sad to see so much corruption in California. read more

I always come here for my smog checks. Owner is nice, friendly, and quick. Shop is located in a narrow strip, but I've never had a problem getting in and out read more

The owner of this shop was really helpful and friendly. I had a replaced battery which reset my drive cycle. I had to comeback several times due to not knowing when the I/M readiness signals would be ready. He didn't mind and helped me out on 3 separate occasions which was really kind of him. read more

**PLEASE READ BEFORE COMING HERE** Horrible service. Olasumbo Oladipupo (his name), stalled my manual transmission car 5 times. He also managed to reverse my car into a parked car!!! I saw him hit the other car and when he got out the car he just laughed about it?! He still had the audacity to charge me for a failed test?!?! Yes my car failed and that's fine but dude literally damaged my transmission and damaged my rear bumper and just laughed and still charged me. Also when I first got there 5 mins later, another couple drives up and he assisted them and didn't get to my car till after he was done with them he took over an hour to check my car. I should've just left and took that as a red flag before he did all that damage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE AT ALL. read more

$15 off coupon is expired, but I was given $10 off a $60 smog check. The price quoted is for cash since there's a percent charge for VISA/Mastercard. The employees are very responsive, including when I called on the phone. I was in and out in about 15 minutes after the mechanic started on my car. I recommend for those who need a STAR smog. read more

Hi everyone, I decided to yelp A1 smog because of my terrifying experience with the an African guy (the owner). First I began with a phone call, asking how much for a smog , he told me 50 dollars. So I came in to get a smog and everything went fine until it was time to pay. The owner told me my total was 60 dollars read more

This review is long overdue. I had a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid that needed a smog test so I searched online and found this one. It's a black owned business too. I went on a Saturday afternoon and luckily no other customers were there. I was in and out in approx 15 minutes, great customer service, used the yelp discount and left as one happy guy read more

I found A-1 Smog Check on Yelp and with them being very close to where I work went and let them check my smog. Much to my relief they didn't find any! I passed and with my Yelp discount I saved money too. The service was friendly and in spite of having 2 people ahead of me, I was still in and out in about 40 minutes. The only challenges are that the parking lot is pretty tight and the waiting room is a little sketchy. I would suggest not sitting on the couch, it looks like it's been thru more than it's fair share of frat parties. read more

I will never come back to this place! The wait was about 30 minutes, which is understandable for a Saturday morning. I went with my mom and we were told to sit in the waiting room. The guy didn't ask any questions or give us an estimated time, he kind of just pushed us to the side. When it was finally our turn and I told him what kind of car I drove, he said his machine for older models was broken. He said he would try anyway and told me it would be $60. I filled out the paperwork and when I tried to use the yelp $15 off coupon, he told me it was for model 2000 & newer cars only. Nowhere did it say this on the coupon and when we complained about it, he said his machine was down and walked away. REALLY? The machine was working fine, I'm sure the guy just didn't want to deal with us anymore. The guy was very dismissive and rude. We definitely won't be back here. read more

Clean, no messy nonsense. Straight forward and nice to have an entrance way off Spruce versus dealing with Manchester.

DISHONEST! Owner wouldn't accept the Yelp coupon that clearly states "$15 off ANY smog check". Maybe it was because when I showed up he was sleeping, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, I don't like dealing with people when I first wake up either. But don't lie to me and say you don't control your own Yelp page and that "you have no clue who put that coupon up". Come on Sumbo...don't lie man. read more

Great service. I only had to wait about 5 minutes to get my smog. It was very quick. I highly recommend this place for anyone.

Fast and friendly. First time I have had to smog my car and in a while. Everything for the newer cars uses wifi they didn't have to put it on the machine. Thank you we will be back. read more

I was greeted immediately and offered a seat while another car was being checked. A few minutes later I was allowed to bring my car in to get it inspected. I have been here 3 times for smog checks and they've all been positive experiences. I would recommend coming here for a smog.

I've been going to A-1 Smog Check for years. I really like Ola and his staff. They are very professional, nice, and fast! I always recommend this shop to my family and friends. I highly recommend this shop and will continue going here. read more

I really waited until the last minute to get my smog check and renew my registration. I originally planned to go to another smog test center on La Brea across from the DMV (so I could go there afterward) but when they told me it would be an hour wait to get the smog test, I checked google maps on my phone to see if there were any other smog test places nearby with no wait. I called A-1 Smog Check and they were nice enough to match the other company's coupon and see me right away. The best part was the tip they gave me to renew my registration at a AAA to save time. I've been a member with AAA for years and didn't know they provided DMV registration services. I drove to the AAA not more than a mile away and had my registration sticker and paperwork 10 minutes later. Between my trip to A-1 and AAA, I figure I saved myself two hours of wait time. read more

Quick, easy and professional!! Very nice and attentive customer service. I did not have to wait a long time. I will definitely come back.

I went on a weekday with no appointment and they worked on my car. Quick and efficient service. I was in & out in less than 25 minutes. They have a coupon on their website and on yelp when you check in. You can pay cash or credit. They notify the DMV for you as well. read more
