Beware! This shop was all fine and dandy until the third time I brought my vehicle for the same problem. Now it came in on a tow truck because my engine overheated and damaged the engine. Third time here, $1000 spent on coolant/temp system. Was told upon arrival that I overheated my car and damaged the head gasket." When I wanted to know how I overheated it, when that's what I've been paying them to repair, Miguel has since retracted that statement and created a false description of what I came for (forgetting I have the original paperwork). I'm told the problem is completely unrelated and that they can't help me. I took my car in for a brake job. The rotors and brake pads I had were brand new, but was making a noise. They told me that the new brake pads were not installed right and causing screech on the new rotors. I was told I needed new brake pads, which what was causing the noise. They went ahead and installed the new brake pads I had with me. They even said they clean/ surface the rotors. Ever since then, I've came back four different times regarding the same issue. All Miguel keeps saying is that they took care of it. I've had to leave my car there for days and even then the problem still continues. This placed will take your money, but won't take care of the problem. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

I never give reviews but I just left this shop and I want to share my experience. I found this shop 7years ago, when I was having major mechanical issues. As a girl it's hard for me to find a good quality mechanic shop that is trustworthy and won't take advantage or make my cars worse than what it was. I've gone through it all. I was recommended by a friend to take my cars to Smogs Plus. I'm so glad I listened and found this place. They did an exceptional job on both my cars and now I an a loyal customer for my regular oil changes and smog's and will only take my cars their. Their prices are more than fair for the quality work given. I haven't had any major issues like I did with other shops. Now it's only maintenance for upkeep. THIS PLACE TAKES ADVANTAGE ELDERLY CUSTOMERS. My Uncle (85yrs old) went there 10/18/24 and checked in with the girl at the desk and handed her his renewal notice and everything. On his notice it DIDN'T indicate that there was a smog due for his truck and they saw that on his notice. He was under the impression he needed one every other year and was a bit confused. The technician did it anyway knowing he did not need it and they took his money. Working for a business and having integrity and counseling people on what they need is good business practice and this establishment doesn't have that at all. MIGUEL tried to over explain how it works and blah blah blah....I get it but how would you like for someone to do that to you Mom, Dad, Uncle etc...... DO BETTER! Make sure you give information before you take money from people knowing they did not need the service you provided....To top it all off his truck FAILED anyway and they still charged him. This company is full of bs, and have a poor quality sense of customer service. I took my car in a couple months ago so they can diagnose an issue that I had. They continued the whole process until come to find out once everything was paid for they said they weren't able to find the leak. I was forced to pay another smog shop to be able to find the leak and smog for registration. Not only was a waste of money but a waste of time since considering they kept my car for almost two weeks only to tell me they did find any issues and the guy at front disk seemed rude when I tried to confront them about finding the leak which I specifically went in for. I had a skeptical feeling about this place since my pop has warned me they steal parts off your vehicles but i still ended up going and sure enough they stole a piece of jewelry and looked like they messed with my door panels, that was kinda a weird, since they had asked if I had any surround sound in my vehicle. I let time go by and I eventually forget about it. My mom recently went not to long ago to do a transmission fluid change, and she's telling me they stole some of her panels from the engine bay and some panels from inside the vehicle which not sure why they were even in the vehicle going through her stuff. When she went back to complain a couple days later because she hadn't noticed till then. They tried to say that it was her fault and they're not responsible. The guy in front of disk acts likes he knows what he's doing or talking about but it's straight bs. These guys are PARTS CHANGERS they're are not actual mechanics don't be deceived just because they have a shop. They CANNOT AND WILL NOT be able to diagnose your vehicle properly. One of the mechanics in the back whose a chub looks like he'd setting up agreements with the guy in front disk or not sure how this getting past anyone. They're just lucky they haven't messed with the wrong person. Please don't go here they will scam you this place is only good to smog your vehicle. read more

Got my breaks and rotors fixed here paid $800 for a not so pretty good job. My breaks continue to squeak even days, weeks, now we're months after and they're still squeaking . I called and told them about the noise and they said they would be able to fix it but i'm not taking any chances so they can fix the problem they knowingly caused then be able to turn around and charge me for it on top of a lousy $35 service fee? you're better off learning and fixing your car on your own . read more

After a lifetime of self repairing and shade tree mechanics, my dad started coming here (I dont remember why or who recommended this place). Its a hassle to get to there shop from the area of LA we live in, but the service is worth it. Im 31 years old now and every car Ive owned since I started driving has come through here for major and minor repairs, regular maintenance, smog tests, diagnostics after purchase just to be safe. They stand by their work, and Ive never felt cheated. The staff is professional and attentive, but my go to guy is Miguel. He thorough and professional, and even though he's always busy, he takes time to answer questions and make sure you understand whats going on. When Ive considered buying a particular car that i dont have experience with, I've given him calls for his professional opinion and he tells me whats what without hesitation. If he left Smogs Plus to go to another shop, I'd probably follow him lol... but again, the whole shop and staff is great. 2001 vehicle w brand new catalytic converter: tech jacked up car, noted CARB EO# stamped on new cat, went to internet and cross referenced EO# to year/make/model then failed vehicle for tampering due to my 2001 vehicle not listed on EO. I expected tech to simply verify new cat was CA legal. Check engine light was off. Zero MIL codes. While shop was technically correct, they took 30 minutes and extra effort to fail the vehicle. Shop is licensed to both smog test and repair. Conflict of interest. Went to another local smog shop that took 15 minutes + passed!
