I was referred here by Uniforms, Tuxedos, and More for men's suit alterations. I'm pretty disappointed and will follow up with them to let them know they might want to stop referring people to this place. I was extremely clear with these people that I needed this suit for an interview on February 25. They said they would have it done by the 22nd (a friday) by the latest. I waited for their call - nothing. I went in on Saturday to see what was going on - turns out they're closed on Saturday and Sunday and didn't open again until 9:30 on Monday the 25th. Thank god men's wearhouse was able to sell me another suit on Saturday and have it altered well by Sunday. After I finally picked my suit up and expressed my dissatisfaction, the woman was suprisingly unapologetic and rude. She literally just stares at you, just like the other 1-star reviewer wrote! Oh and to top it all off, they don't take credit cards. My suit doesn't fit nearly as well as the other one I bought and had tailored at men's wearhouse does. Granted the one I had done here was pretty cheap, I still expect it to fit well after paying $60 for alterations. If you seek good work and professionalism for men's alterations, go somewhere else. read more

I always go to dances and my dresses never fit. So I went to this place. She is so nice and caring. She will help you with anything you need. I always get my dresses fitted for me by her and she makes them fit so nicely. All the threading she takes out and fixes is so clean looking. She's the best and she knows what's best for her customers. She also has reasonable prices for what you need to have done. Go to this place and it will be worth it. read more

My go to place. Been there a couple times. Great quality work. Good prices. I'll only go to this place in Chico.

Needed a suit tailored in a short time frame and the good people at AA Alterations were able to meet the deadline. Not only that the work was fantastic. They will always be my go to tailor in Chico! read more

This Lady Maritza was an Angel. My Daughter was getting married and our Grand Daughter's dress came in 3 sizes too large. There was no time to order another size.No one else in town would touch it because it was complex and very costly. It was like building a new dress. Her price was more than reasonable. She was kind and patient with us and we will forever be grateful for her wonderful attitude and beautiful handiwork . read more

Highly recommend I am a while a wildland fire fighter and needed my pants to be tailored and the nice ladies there took great care of me. I told them I needed the pants done in about two days and they were able to get them done in one day and exactly how I wanted them read more

I didn't know an alteration experience could be so enjoyable! She is such a genuinely nice and hardworking person. I brought in my wedding dress to get it altered (length and around the waist) and a bustle added and she went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with its fit and she gave me great suggestions. I highly recommend!! :) read more

Altered two dresses for my sons wedding! Very nice, prompt, quality work and will definitely use them again!

These women are amazing! They are the only people I take my clothes too! Besides being excellent at their job, they are always super nice.

apparently booked for 3 months. i think it was just an excuse not to help with a simple alteration.

I have never written a review before, that should tell you something that I have never had a business be such a joke in 40 years that made me so mad, this was by far the worst customer service and business I have seen in Chico of any kind. The waiting room wasn't big enough for 3 people to stand. I could barely understand the English of the worker, I asked for 3 shirts to be altered slightly shortened, something a professional should be able to do in 20 minutes, and she asked for $30. I said "seriously?" and was thinking about it. She then rudely said (from what I could understand) "You know what, we're busy, you need to leave", I said I wasn't done, she couldn't talk for 1 minute and work on them in a week? I wasn't in a rush. I had a 4th shirt I wanted a letter sewn into, and she said they don't do that. Excuse me! A professional Alteration shop of 20 years cant sew a letter into a shirt??? I asked who does? I could barely understand when she gave me the wrong name of the business AND the wrong directions. My phone corrected her, and when I got there it was closed haha. So if you want to be treated rudely, overcharged, and not understand the workers as you cram into their shop, this is your place!! read more

I've been coming to AA Alterations for years now, and although I usually only visit them 3-4 times a year, they always remember me and do a fantastic job. Their prices are very reasonable, and my items are always altered correctly and ready quickly. The owner actually listens to what you want to be done, which isn't always the case at other places. I highly recommend this business! read more

The ladies here are amazing! I've gotten 5 pairs of pants hemmed and Maritza has done an outstanding job! She's gotten them done exactly when she said she'd have them done. I dropped one pair off and then went to pick them up and there card machine was down and i had no cash. She let me take my pants anyway since I needed them for work and said bring the money in when I drop the rest off! So I did, went back and dropped off the other 4 pairs, brought cash and paid for all of them and she literally got the 4 pairs of pants done within in 3 hours!! So impressed by her work, presence, and kindness! She most definitely made me feel welcomed and already like family, I will be bringing all my future alterations here, wish i found them sooner! read more

Very unprofessional business. I showed up to pick up my boyfriends pants. I went to pay for the $10 hem job and they said it would cost an extra $2 to use my card. They told me I could walk across to S&S and buy a drink and get cash back or go to my bank. I wasn't going to walk across the street to spend $2 to get the cash and my bank isn't near by. After extinguishing these options I decided they could just charge the extra $2 on my card, she refused to run my debit card and said I could only pay cash. This place is ridiculous and I will not be going back, no you can't profit off of me using my debit card. read more

The ladies at AA Alterations we're SO wonderful to work with! I took three dresses in to be altered for my wedding and I was more than thrilled about how they turned out. One of my gowns, they helped me totally redo the back to make it a low drop back. It was so beautiful and turned out better than my expectations. My other gown for my wedding was a huge ball gown with 10 layers. They shortened it and put a bustle on it and did it all without losing any of the beauty of the dress. I HIGHLY recommend them!!! I promise you won't get anything short of great service! I didn't and I worked with them for months in prep for my wedding. read more

I was gopeful to have my apparel cut down. She did it by selflessly squeezing me in. AND WE EVEN HAD A NICE, WONDERFUL conversation. I really wanted to do it last minute not by choice but so I could enjoy it better and on New What's eve she helped me and I will return here forever if I need anything creatively adjusted or designed on material or for special occasions!! read more

These ladies are soooo good at alterations. My husband needed his waterproof golf pants hemmed. The tricky part was there is Velcro at the bottom that needed to be replaced after being hemmed. No problem at all for these ladies! What a great job! read more

I have been going to AA Alterations ever since I moved to Chico. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I have gotten many things altered and hemmed here over the years, including bridesmaids dresses. They are reliable and I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

This place is horrible, I would give them 0 stars if I could! I needed a few pieces tailored for my anniversary on Dec 15th (two small seam tears on 2 shirts and a tiny hole in a pair of leggings - smaller than a pencil eraser): A) I dropped my pieces off Dec 7th. The lady inspected my garments, told me they could be fixed, and told me to pick them up on the 14th. I even gave her my information and cell # just in case. B) I showed up on the 14th and they informed me that they weren't finished (gee thanks, so much for my anniversary outfit). They told me to come back on the 20th. C) I showed up on the 29th, thinking that would be plenty of time to finish. They told me that didn't know how to fix the shirts and my leggings STILL WEREN'T finished. The lady told me the leggings would be done by the next day. I found this unlikely: If they can't finish 3 pieces in 3 WEEKS, I doubt they'll be able to finish them by the next day. I complained to the lady and she just stared at me like she didn't even care. She was rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER go here again. Save your time and $ and go somewhere else! read more

Exceptional customer service and great work! The staff here will truly go the extra mile for you.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best in town. I'm a shorter, slim guy, suits just never looked good on me. Even when other places altered them for me, they still ended up making me look like someone wearing a baggy, ill-fitting suit. It was a Friday morning, I ended up having an interview on a Monday morning in which I absolutely needed to be wearing a suit, and though I thought it was a long-shot, I just thought I'd ask and see if they could have it done for me. Not only did I need it on Monday morning, I wanted to be wearing something that actually looked good for a change. They basically transformed this suit into something brand new and brilliant. The sleeves were thinned, the pant leggings reflected a newer, more slim style, the chest was form fitted, there were no more cuffs in the pants, in essence, I no longer looked like a 1920's gangster wannabe on Halloween. This suit is smooth, dapper and fits like something you'd see straight out of a magazine ad. It looks fashionable, expensive, classy. Not only did they do an amazing job, they had my suit ready by 8:15 am Monday morning, altered, cleaned AND pressed. Who else would've gone out of their way on a weekend to do this for anyone and completely blow your expectations away? They earned my respect and my business. read more

Disappointed, I would go somewhere else. The seam came undone on both ends after washing once and I received poor service when asking if they could fix this, I was told she wasn't sure if I would be charged also I was going to have to leave it there for another week, good service would have apologized and fixed it same day. read more

What a wonderful place! I needed to get my wedding dress altered around my waist and back a week before the wedding after David's bridal refused to... They had it done and looking perfect in 4 days! Great service and prices! They won't stop until te product is perfect. Best in chico!!! read more

They had my dress ready with 24 hours. Incredible work and great service for a great price. I will be going back!

My husband and I got so tired of being gouged by the prices of Sewing Chico that we tried this place and were so happy with the work done. He has a lot of work uniforms that need to be altered while I have the occasional item here or there that needs alterations. Their prices were very fair (so much less expensive as Sewing Chico and just as good of quality)!!! read more

Maritza does excellent alterations! I don't even live in Chico anymore but I can't find anyone as good as her, so every time I come to town I bring her my stuff. She is reasonably priced and always completes my alterations really fast. read more

Had two pairs of pants altered. Maritza was very nice and got the job done when she said she would. She even re-adjusted the seam again to make sure I was happy with the job, before I paid. She did good work on the pants and was reasonably priced. read more

Maritza is a gem! She fully tailored a suit for me that i needed on a tight deadline and it came out looking great. I could not be happier with the results. She was very personable and professional and went the extra mile to make sure that everything fit, and looked great. For the amount of work she did in the time frame that was allowed, the price was nothing to complain about. Extremely happy to have found a new tailor for all of my future alterations. read more

I've had 8 pairs of pants hemmed and I'm bringing 6 more to them today. Great price. Great service. Need I say more? AA Alterations are the only ones I trust with my jeans & slacks. I highly recommend! read more

Beware of this place! The quoted price for the job was not honored. When I went to pick my item up, they charged me almost double of what they said it would cost. These ladies did not say the work would start at a certain price and go up if they encountered problems. They said it would cost $ xx period--a fixed price for the job. Two of the workers quoted that price to me and the person with me. That was four people who heard the price multiple times during this conversation. When I went to pick up the item, they said they would not have told me that for the item I had. They also told me that what they did was hard. I was an idiot for paying them. I should have let them keep the item and walked out. Then I could have went to the store and bought a whole new item for the price they charged me. I returned to their establishment later that day with the person who was with me for the initial price quote. Neither of us felt it was right for them to quote one price and then charge another or you don't get your item back. The ladies disagreed and refused to give me back the difference between what I was told it would cost and what I was charged. She also told me that she felt sorry for me that I was so upset about this situation. Be careful! These ladies do not uphold honest business practices! Will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well. read more

Maritza at AA Alterations saved my wedding, for sure. I was a week away from my wedding when I picked my wedding dress from David's Bridal. The fit was horrible, and heard from them that there was nothing they could do for the fixes I needed. I took my dress to AA Alterations on the recommendation of a friend, with only a hope and a prayer. The employees there were so sweet and comforting. Maritza seriously worked her magic and saved my dress. It looks and fits wonderful, and she got it to me before I was leaving for my wedding that week. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you, Thank you! read more
