One star is being way too generous. System installed 1/23/25, began having issues immediately. System was basically inoperable by day 3. Told them that I wanted out, they responded that I was past the point of returning the system. They sent a technician out to repair the system on 1/28, camera went offline on 2/4 and is once again inoperable. Returned from being out of town and spoke by phone with a "technician" on 2/10. After nearly an hour on the phone, she was unable to fix the issue and informed me that they would have to send someone out. I asked to speak with a supervisor. After nearly 5 minutes on hold I was told that there was no supervisor available and that they would get me on a call back list, which would be in 24 to 48 hours. At this point, I just want them to come get their system and I will repair any damages they've done to my walls during the system installation. read more

Back in 2022 I made a huge mistake installing AAA home security system at a property I have. WHAT A MISTAKE....So I am writing this review, so YOU don't make it. This low rating AAA company NOT accredited by BBB has the lowest quality possible of service installed 4 cameras at my place which one of them never worked for 3 years of service. Upon me leaving a review for their quality of service provided. They immediately call me asking me to delete review and We will send tech support again, well they did and again not working...So I've decided to cancel service and asked them to please get last payment from same account you have always withdraw payments and they say that they will which they never did. Rather than do that they sent me to collections for 127.00 dollars.. Now I will cancel my AAA Membership, Auto and home insurance due to a low rated AAA Smart Home Security system way of doing business. PLEASE DON'T GET THEIR SERVICE ALL NIGHTMARES WITH AAA SMART HOME AS YOU WILL REGRET IT. read more

although everything seemed to be satisfactory after having the system installed in my 80-year-old parent's new home, it was not until sometime it passed, and we became acquainted with the home security system the problems started to become apparent. The first issue that I noticed, and I had been told could be remedied with a simple phone call if we were not happy with the placement of the security camera monitoring the front of the house in the driveway you would expect that the people installing a security system would have more insight into the best angle and placement of a camera for security purposes. basically the camera was just slapped up onto the side of the house and pointed in the direction of the driveway without any thought or concern to what the camera could actually capture in way of security footage and also what was not considered was the weather and how that would affect the cameras ability to not be obstructed because of moisture and fogging of the lens from doing its job. rather than installing the camera set an angle that for example, points in the direction of the street that is the only exit and entrance into the neighborhood , the camera was mounted pointed towards the cul-de-sac so essentially somebody can pull up to our house, stopping just before our driveway hop out of the car, walk up through the rocks on the side of our property and easily enter the side gate without ever being even caught on the camera, but is supposed to be providing surveillance and safety. It only makes sense to me now of course that I have been using the app and I am very aware of the shortcomings of the location of the camera and the angle that it's pointed in that I noticed it would've been a lot smarter if the camera were pointed in the direction pointing down the street, so if someone were to do something and they were to exit our neighborhood you would have much more footage and opportunity of capturing information like a license plate, etc. where the camera is currently placed. You pretty much will get a super fast clip of the side of a car driving by right in front of our house and really no opportunity for a license plate or any usable information and that's only if the vehicle passes into the cameras vision because they very easily could just avoid that and pull a U-turn right before our driveway and never even be picked up at all. but like I said, the guy who installed the system said that this could be changed if we weren't happy with its location simply by making a phone call to customer service. welcome to find out that is not the case at all. In fact, we have our Internet service provider switched to a better connection with fiber optics, and when we contacted customer service at AAA smart home security to inform them of the change and to get everything back online for the security system we were told that the camera placement if we wanted to change would cost over $150. this is aggravating to me, and I feel as if they've taken advantage of my elderly parents, which is why I'm leaving this review let's also not forget to mention the fact that the doorbell camera which has never worked correctly has now decided all on its own to ring the doorbell anytime it senses something moving and its vision line. This is getting old very quickly. It rings every time somebody is entering the house with the code and nobody even touches it. It rings when a car drives by it when somebody walks by it over incessantly when somebody actually walks up to the door and never actually touches the button to ring the bell. at this point, I told my father we should just stop paying for the service because I'm ready to rip the doorbell thing off of the wall because if it keeps doing this ringing thing, I'm going to go nuts and apparently customer service really doesn't care because apparently why should they? They don't have to deal with it and now I'm of course, reading from others reviews that this is a common problem that happened sometimes. at this point, I would rather be surprised by a burglar and mugged, raped and robbed and murdered. I think that to continue with the insanity of having a security system that really isn't secure at all. I realize that some people may not have the issues I've had or my family has had with having this home security system put into place and monitored through this company, but that has not been our experience so a buyer beware and I guess since we are living in Reno, it's a gamble and on this one we lost big time! read more

The package I ordered for my home security system was not what was received. First they mailed it to the wrong location, then they sent the wrong thing. I have spoken to six different people. I have been rerouted to three different departments. Every time I call I am told I will get my quote for the missing items. THEY ARE CHARGING ME!!! Each time I wait and no quote is received, no follow up, nothing. Then they tell me that they charged me for the technician visit. BUT NO TECHNICIAN HAS EVER NEEN TO MY HOME. IN FACT, they have no technicians in Michigan. I have now had this system for three months and I cannot install it because I'm missing components. When I call again, I have to go through the entire process because they have no records of my last five calls despite the fact that I can name each one of the people that I've spoken to. On my last call, they wouldn't help me because they said my address wasn't correct despite me providing the name, date and person who sent me the contract. They are disorganized. They have poor record keeping. They do not follow through. I do not trust them to monitor my home if we can't even get past the install!!!! read more

When I discovered that payments were being accepted and services not provided, I requested a refund and was open to negotiating compensation. Bad customer service. I am in contract with A3 Smart Home Security. My batteries went dead on my door lock. The technician Vu did not provide the tool to open the lock to replace the batteries. I called A3 Smart Home Security today and the technician on the phone stated that I have to pay $125.00 for the technician to come home. All I want is to open the lock so that I can change the batteries or send the proper tool to open the lock. I am locked in the house and if I leave the house I will not be able to enter. I will be locked out. This is so inhuman. I sent a message to Vu at the Sacramento office and I never received any response. Seems like this company do not practice human kindness. A3 Smart Home is an excellent place to work if you are just starting your career. There are many processes in place to help someone advance their career, They are tooled and setup to train team members to be leaders If you have established experience in technical support or customer service, regardless of length of that experience, it will not matter and will not be counted when being considered for promotions or even applying for jobs outside of the technical support team. Although one's experience gets you in the door, it will not be considered. During the interview process you will be told that opportunities are bountiful, also not true. What you will be told, you lack the correct type of experience. AKA not A3 experience. You will be judged on your A3 experience alone. The issue, Tech Support is basically an s entry level job further most of the jobs are near entry level jobs. Thus, not allowing you to garner the skills necessary to advance. This is a warning to all! I entered A3 with a promise that if I worked hard and learned quickly, I would be considered for such opportunities. I have 20 years of call center and tech support experience and most of my experience it at the managerial level. I can tell you my experience has not gotten me nowhere. After four months at A3 Smart Home, I was awarded the MWG trophy. The first team member to receive the award with under 2 years service. There were 2 other team members who completed training with me, among the three of us, we applied for 6 jobs combined. None of us landed the promotion. I sought employment elsewhere. Ezra Holmes arrived at our home at 8 a.m. to install a home security system, and worked steadily until five o'clock. He was masked the entire time, very personable, and patient with the challenges of our new-to-us home. He was also patient with my husband who insisted on helping ;-) Ezra obviously knows what he is doing - his placement of cameras and motion sensors was spot on. He made sure we knew how to use the system before he left and I have no doubt that if we have issues he will be responsive. Alex, arrived at our home to install our system around 11:00. He was courteous, kind and very professional. He worked very conscientously, making sure to clean his surroundings as he went through the installation process. He was very respectful of the fact that we are seniors, and might have some tech challenges. He was extremely patient and made sure we understood what we needed to know. He was kind enough to repeat anything we weren't sure of. My husband wanted some extra items added to the install and he was very accommodating. Our house is an old Tudor and required some special treatment. Alex took that into consideration. He spent 5 hours making sure everything was installed well and that we were Satisfied. Justin arrived at our home at 9:15 am. to install a new security system. He explained everything that was going to occur that day. He was very professional and courteous which I appreciated. A 2nd technician, Sam arrived about an hour later to assist Justin. They were both very personable and answered all of our questions. I really appreciated that Justin went over the placement of the cameras and the motion sensors, he even recommended the placement of one sensors we hadn't thought about. When the job was completed, Justin went over how to use the system from the control panel as well as our cell phones. Horrible unprofessional installers,,,they do not listen to what you want. I returned all equipment but they are charging me for damaged equipment, damage that their installers did...I had pictures to prove it. They backed down but now are charging me for DIFFERENT damage that they have no proof nor did they return the damaged equipment to me. They have sent me to collections for equipment I don't have. Their installers ran wire all through my house on the outside of the walls and SPLIT AND TAPED wire that was too short. A3 Alarm said that I did it. WHAT??!! I've had several alarm systems and this was by far the most unprofessional company that I have ever dealt with. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL!!! read more

First of all, I had been a customer for 15 years when they notified me that my equipment no longer would work with their system.  They were supposed to put in the new compatible board at no charge.   Instead, they charged me $500 on my auto pay.  I spoke with their customer service team on at least 7 occasions - always promised a follow up after they looked into it.  I NEVER was refunded and I NEVER got a follow up call.  I finally just gave up because my time was more valuable.   Now, I just called to cancel my service. I was informed that even though I am NOT under contract with them, it will take up to 30 days for their customer service team to cancel my service and I will continue to be charged for service that I am not using for those 30 days. What company takes 30 days to cancel a service and doesn't at least prorate from the time you cancel? It's a shady excuse to keep even more of my money.   If there were negative stars, I would give them. read more

I was getting hundreds of system tampering notifications on a faulty sensor. I called A3 and a tech was scheduled for the following day. Brian came and provided the most amazing service... not only did he quickly replace the faulty sensor, he also ran an update and checked all of the other sensors, motion detectors and cameras around my home. He was respectful of Covid protocols, and he never made me feel that he was rushed or had another appointment that was more important. Bottom line... I have had 'issues' with A3 in the past, however the service that Brian gave is testament to A3 wanting to improve. They hit a home run with this guy! Kudos... read more

These individuals not only showed me sincere care and appreciate as a customer but listened to my concerns. They walked me through every step of my security system and made the corrections that were missed in the beginning. It was this high level of customer service that led me to A3 Smart Home Security initially and it is so refreshing to know there are still great caring hard-working people still out there who appreciate the customer.
