The technician came out to look into my slow drain issues. He clearly stated verbally and in writing, that my existing pipe and P-trap connected to my tub were corroded and needing to be replaced. I said OK since I'm working with my home warranty company all I pay is a service fee and they cover the cost. I soon get notification from my home warranty company that that technician is telling them that a modification to my plumbing is required. And that they do not cover modification. Of course, I'm upset because the plumber at A1 Phoenix plumbing never mentioned verbally or in the right up , any sort of modification. Nor can I imagine why there would need to be a modification to replace piping and the P-trap that currently exists. It's all basic plumbing on a single-story home with ample crawlspace. So I had my home warranty company, contact A1 Phoenix, plumbing on the three-way to clarify the meaning of this. We speak to a dispatcher who indicated that there was a modification required to replace the piping, but that's all he could say because he was only the dispatcher and we would have to speak with a technician. I ask the dispatcher are you reading the notes from the write up on the work required and he said yes. I asked do those notes indicate a modification at all and he said no but that he's not a technician so we would have to talk to the technician. So I ask him why are you stating a modification is required if you don't even know that. He agreed to have the technician and a supervisor called me back to discuss it and I'm waiting for that call. In the meantime, I need to say, for anybody looking into this company to have them do work for them. Be careful... My home warranty company agreed to have a different company come out and give me a new assessment of what's needed to correct my problem. I have five properties. I'm happy I had this experience because I know out of the hundreds of plumbing companies in my area I will never ever use this one again. The seal around the drain in my bath tub was corroded and leaking into my garage so I called my home warranty company, who dispatched A1 Phoenix Plumbing. They came and made the repair; we waited two weeks to be sure it held, and then got the area in the garage that the pipe had leaked into re-sheetrocked. Two months later we took a deep bath, the water came out the overflow, and immediately started flooding the garage.  Apparently the gasket behind the overflow had not been properly sealed. Because it was outside their 30 day guarantee, my home warranty company refused to reopen the original case.  A1 ignored my calls and texts, and the home warranty company's calls and messages as well. I had to open a new case with the home warranty company and pay the case fee over again to have a different company come out and re-do the repair.   When I told the tech from the new company the story I began: "So, two months ago we had a leak and A1 Phoenix Plumbing..." and he just rolled his eyes like he'd seen it all before. Looks like A1 might do good work if you contract with them directly, but don't have them do your work through a warranty company. read more

A1 Phoenix Plumbing was amazing! We used their service under our home warranty, Fidelity, to fix our kitchen sink clog. They were able to come the next day after filing our claim in the window of time promised. Their scheduling staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Mario Gonzales and his crew came to fix the clog and it was done in under an hour. They replaced a gasket that was broken and performed multiple trials to ensure the clog was gone and the leaks were fixed. Mario took his time to explain to me the process and what exactly they were doing. Im sure it can be annoying to have homeowners ask questions during a job, but I was genuinely curious and wanted to know more. I appreciate their kindness and time! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE. They overbook appointments and cancelled last minute stating the plumber had an accident and had to go to the hospital. I rescheduled the appointment. The next time, he didn't show up after until 2 hours from the appointment time. I called the number and they said the plumber had a meeting with the manager in the morning and it's taking longer at his prior appointment so everything is running slow. This made me realize no accident happened on the prior occasion. They overbook themselves and then have to cancel someone in the day since they can't cover everything. BE AWARE. Finally, the person shows up 2 hours late and just fiddled around in the toilet tank and wasn't willing to repair anything. After some arguing, he said I will replace a flapper and that's it. He did that but that didn't fix the leak in the toilet. He submitted a false report to the insurance company stating that everything was working. read more

The first technician gave us a report stating that everything was covered under warranty. Later, a second plumber came and said the first one didn't diagnose the issue properly -- and then changed the conclusion to say it was not covered. For two weeks, they kept going back and forth trying to figure out what the actual issue was. There was no proper diagnosis, no clear communication, and no accountability. Truly terrible experience. Had to work with them bc they were assigned by the home warranty. If this is your situation, do what I should have done and pester your home warranty until they give you a new contractor. Took 4 weeks to get a water heater replaced because they took 10 days to respond to the initial request, then ordered the wrong part twice. They blamed the home warranty and took no accountability and were defensive. I know I sound like a meanie now, but I do lead with respect and kindness. They requested prepayment through Zelle, but also required a credit card to schedule the appointment. I told the technician I'd prepaid, he charged me again anyway. I'm now having to call and email and generally rage to get them to refund me. I have to wait for the second, fraudulent charge to clear on my card before I can dispute it. They DID replace the water heater tonight, after a month of no hot water. I'm not hopeful it will hold, but I'm bitter and cynical. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. read more

They had to change our appt and then when the plumber arrived told us our kitchen faucet was not torn due to normal wear & tear and looks like a clean cut. Wtf?? Why would we cut the hose and create a flood in the kitchen, living room, and hallways? The faucet/hose are clearly super old and worn out. So because of the report, AHS will not cover this and would have to pay out of pocket over $400!! Scammers!! They just want you to have to pay the cost so they don't have to go through the home warranty. Don't trust this company at all!! Absolutely DO NOT recommend!! Horrible service! read more

After reading the reviews, I was worried. Very worried but since the home warranty company assigned it, I had no choice. I was pleasantly surprised by how efficiently Gerardo fixed the leak. He quickly identified the source of the leak without needing to cut into the drywall. I was pleasantly surprised given the reviews on here, so I thought I'd add my experience as I was worried it was gonna be terrible after perusing Yelp. Service was pretty smooth from start to finish. My realtor gifted me a home warranty so this was just the contracted provider. I was having issues with my garbage disposal and the person who set up the appointment was super friendly and helpful. They weren't able to get me in for about a week, but that was fine with me. If I had more flexibility with my own schedule it probably could've been sooner. Eduard was my technician and he was very professional, friendly and fast. My new garbage disposal seems to be working well and hopefully there won't be any issues!
