WARNING !!!! Our move was canceled with 2 hours notice with a request to reschedule to the next day! I remained stunned by this experience! I received a phone call at 11am, ( the move was scheduled for 1pm), I was told that they had a problem with their truck and that they could offer us service for the following day (Sunday) which was not an option for us. The house lease ended Saturday and we had to vacate the property or incur an additional weeks rent. In addition to that we were flying out on the red eye at 11:59pm PLEASE Do not be impressed with the quick response you may get from contacting Dwayne, and DO NOT seek to give this small business your support. I was not offered an option that they could arrange a replacement truck, even if it had been a UHAUL and asked if a later arrival would be acceptable. My daughter and I had to pack up her car and make 8 trips to her new home, leave furniture outside (with the help of the cleaning crew that we had hired) and eventually borrow a friends truck to move a couch a bed and a recliner chair, very vicariously through the city. the small "simple move" became an exhausting, scary and very stressful 7 hour ordeal. Had we not been organized and helped with the furniture we would have had to incur additional cost to change our flight. I am grateful that my daughter and I are fit and were capable of working so hard for the whole day, if you are not prepared to move yourself , I recommend you go to a different company! read more

I hired A Simple Move to move from Denver to Boulder county. I signed up for 3 guys for a reasonable hourly rate. The 3rd guy was an hour late with no explanation. The other 2 guys worked very hard to get my items out of my 3rd story apartment. Since I was moving out of the metro area, they said they would waive the extra fee for longer distance moves since the 3rd guy was so late. When they were all done, they said they would actually have to charge me half of the flat rate for longer moves instead. After settling in, I found out 2 items were broken and un-repairable (a tv stand and an office chair). When I tried to file a claim, I was told I only had 48 hours to file it, so sorry. Even an apology would've been nice. There was also one spot on my newly painted walls that was chipped after the move. One of the guys kept joking about how much tip I was going to give them, which made me uncomfortable. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because the first 2 guys worked very hard from start to finish. Another good tip for other customers is they give you a window for when they'll arrive, so if you need a specific start time, don't got with this company. read more

Please do yourself a favor and NEVER use this moving company. Not only did the movers show up 2 hours later than the timeframe provided, but the cost of the damage they caused to the floors, walls, and furniture exceeded the overall cost of the move. When we addressed the damage with the movers at the end of the move, they told us to call the company and leave a message in order to make a formal claim (a process which we were later told was incorrect). Despite numerous calls and messages to the company, we received no response. It took disputing the charge with the credit card company in order to get A Simple Move on the phone. The owner denied receiving the previous calls and had been told by the movers that there had been no issues with the move. With the credit card company on the phone, the owner agreed to a nominal refund, with the understanding that we would discuss a more meaningful refund after sending pictures of the damage. It has been 5 months since the move and we have yet to see another penny despite clear evidence of the damage within the photos and repair quotes from contractors. This is only the second review I've ever written, but feel compelled to warn others about this company. Please believe me when I say, it's not worth the money, time or energy!! read more

Here is a follow up to my review from several years ago. After a complaint to the Better Business Bureau the company told the BBB they would refund my money. Guess what! I am still waiting for a refund. Shady business practices. read more

I used the movers on April 11, 2014. I never received a confirmation call despite my calling the day before. The movers were two hours late and the owner was not really caring about my time. What should've been "a simple move" was a total disaster! I had all of my boxes loaded in the garage and all furniture was ready to go. Thus should've been a few hour move at best. It lasted six hours which was ridiculous! I had damage to multiple platters and plates, my headboard according to the owner "D" just fell over and the legs fell off, there is a large rip in my sectional sofa as well as the leg was broken on the lounge chair part. When I called the owner told me to submit an email. Which I did that very second along with pictures of the damaged sectional. A couple days later I called to ask if the email had been received and the owners response was yes and I'm considering my reply. Well, today I received an email and he states he will repair nothing. He says: I've read your claim and have examined your photos several times. With the headboard, we do not cover particle board, it collapsed, with no fault of our own, as I explained immediately when it happened. With the dishes, the contract clearly states that we do not cover items packed by owner. The reason for this, is that we did not see the condition or technique used to pack these items. It was also my observation that the boxes were over packed and rattled a lot as if there was a shortage of packing paper inside them. Finally on the couch, that was loaded by me and unloaded by me; they were covered by multiple blankets and flipped one on top another with no other items on them. Despite the obvious pre-existing wear and tear on the couches, my crew and I handled them very carefully and professionally. At no time did the crew cause the damage to any parts of the couch. It was also noted that the damage isn't consistent with typical moving damage; this was noted by the type of tear as well as the location of the tear. Thank you Dwayne I would never use this company again! I have moved several times and never incurred damage or the lack of caring I did with this company! read more

We hired these guys about a month in advance and the day of our move was almost a disaster. My pregnant girlfriend showed up at our storage unit and called the company at 10, they said that they needed to call back. There was some story about a break in and that they were on their way. At 11 they called back and said they would be an hour and a half. Duane the guy in charge kept pushing the time back and 4 hours and 15 minutes later they showed up. The movers that came were very professional and did an awesome job. Their names were Gabriel and Alex and we couldn't have gotten better people to do the job. This place has good employees but shitty management. If you dont mind waiting around all day while being dicked around by Duane then call this place. read more

Two men and 1 truck moved me out from a 2nd floor studio into an 8th floor 1br in 2:15. I have no complaints about these guys. They are leagues above the other movers I have encountered. They were prompt, careful and seem to care about the job. When you consider all of this for $200 it's a great value! Many thanks! read more

Just an update, they were completely up front with their charges when I got my quote over the phone. Best movers I've ever hired.

The guys who did my move were super friendly and helpful and quick. They were able to navigate some pretty tough stairs with some pretty heavy boxes without damaging anything in the slightest. The price was great, they were on time and were very pleasant on a stressful day. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is that the scheduling process is very informal. I wasn't sure they would show. There were no issues but I was a little worried in the days leading up to it. But I'm a worrier. I'll be using them again. read more

Good price, really nice guys. They were friendly, careful with our stuff, and fast. They had us out of our old apartment and up three floors to our new apartment in two hours exactly. Completely worth it. read more

How can such a sad story equal such a good review? They picked up the phone when i called, came over when they said they would, were fun and nice. What's the sad part? I bought a chair that is waayy to big, heavy and awkward to get up my crazy artsy stairs. It was going to be soo cool too. Apparently just because the chair was narrow enough to fit up the stairs, it doesn't mean it will be safe and not destroy my walls. They were professional enough to turn down the job, and I appreciate the thought and high level of professionalism that required. I'll call them if I ever buy anything on Craigslist again. (which i probably wont after this!) PS anyone need a new tattoo or facial chair? you move it! read more

I've moved a lot over the last thirty-two years. The 3 man crew with 'A Simple Move' were true professionals; the best I've ever used. If possible you should request their team specifically: Qwan, Stan, and J.J. They arrived on time and got straight to work. They worked faster than any other moving company I've experienced in the past. They took no breaks, they didn't stop for lunch -- they just worked their butts off and moved, loaded, hauled, and unloaded for over 8 hours straight. I moved a 2,200 square foot 3 bedroom house into storage using a standard 1 car garage. How did they accomplish this? Stan is an artist when it comes to packing the truck (which was full to the rafters front to back) and then unpacking and fitting everything into that garage like a Jenga puzzle. I've never seen anything like it. I thought I was going to have to donate half my stuff to ARC if it didn't get into that garage. I was not going to pay for a storage area. Don't do any more research. I looked at them all. Just hire these guys. Their rates are competitive, they are professional and friendly, and they just work. They take their jobs very seriously; they made what could have been a very stressful day go off like clockwork. read more

My fiance and I just moved from Chicago and had Simple Move unload our 24 foot truck in which they did an amazing job. Dwayne arrived on time and with 4 guys instead of 3 for the same price. They were fast, professional and very polite. I highly recommend Dwayne and his crew for any moves. read more

I would not recommend these movers despite other positive reviews on Yelp. They scraped almost every single piece of wood furniture I have and were not very professional. The lead mover made suggestive comments to me during the move, they blared rap music in the parking lot of my new apartment (at 11am in the morning in a residential community) and a 3rd mover randomly showed up when they arrived at my new building, that didn't end up doing anything and instead just stood by the truck and smoked so my furniture ended up smelling like smoke. I had moved all the boxes myself and it was a relatively easy move, only the large furniture from a 6th floor unit with a loading elevator to a unit up a half flight of stairs. I feel like I could have 'hired' my friends and my furniture would be in better shape, which is exactly the reason I hired movers in the first place. read more

I strongly do not recommend this company. I moved last weekend from one apartment building to another one three blocks away. A Simple Move demanded 3 guys despite my urging for only 2. Problems: 1) They never called to say when they were coming despite asserting that they would. 2) One of the guys barely moved anything. 3) They wrapped nothing in blankets. 4) They did not think at all about how to move objects. No problem solving. 5) They dawdled. 6) They couldn't even manage to get one of the bookcases out of the apartment building. My friend and I managed to get it out the next day in less than 30 minutes. I paid $340 plus tip and am appalled that I even gave them any money. I suggest doing the move yourself rather than higher these guys. read more

Hands down the worst movers I've ever used. And I have moved every year for the past 5 years... I am newer to the area and chose this company based on their positive yelp reviews. In previous states I've lived I have always used Two Men and a Truck and will be doing so next time. Problems I experienced with 'A Simple Move': 1. Showed up late. 2. I paid for 3 guys, at one point one of them was literally sitting on my floor when I walked into one of the bedrooms and complaining to another mover about how much he hated his job. This same one was a terrible worker throughout the entire move, standing around at many points when the other two would give him directions. At one point he was doing nothing so one of the other movers told him to grab some pieces a bed and when he tried to he responded that they were "too heavy". I was in shock, I could have lifted them myself with no problem. At several times throughout the move the other two movers apologized for the one who was hardly working. Ridiculous. 3. One of them set a large glass vase in front of the ramp to the truck and tripped right over it when they were carrying the couch up... Why was a large glass vase set right in front of the ramp??? 4. When we were leaving my apartment to head to the new one, about 10 minutes up the road the truck pulled alongside me and the driver told me that they left the contract at my last place and that they needed me to turn around and go back to get it. I asked if they could just fill out a new form with my address when we arrived at the new apartment. No. More time lost on the clock that I paid for. 5. When I was pulling back into my old apartment to grab the contract they left I noticed a couple of empty bottles of water that were thrown into the middle of the parking lot. Pretty sure they threw the water bottles out the window that I had given them when they were done drinking. Rude, leave them in the truck or find a trash can. 6. At one point during the move-in at the new apartment they were provoked by a man in the alley (who couldn't get through because the truck was in the way) and preceded to get into a fight with him, even throwing coins at him and telling him they weren't going to move the truck. They finally did when he threatened to call the police. Wasting time on my clock, again. I stood by and watched, stunned. I felt that my furniture was manhandled and ended up with scratches or dings on every piece of large, expensive furniture. I would NEVER recommend these movers to anyone. They are unprofessional, rude and I paid for 3 movers and only 2 of them worked. I was shocked at the amount of time this move took, they moved SLOWLY. UPDATE: While unpacking yesterday I noticed the large armoire in my room was wobbling. When I looked down I saw that one of the feet was turned inside and not positioned how it was when I bought the armoire a year ago. When I lifted it up a little, I saw that the entire leg had been cracked off. The movers cracked the leg off at some point and then set the armoire up in my room and shoved the leg back underneath it and did not tell me that it broke. I was not going to call ASM to report any of the other BS I went through when moving until I saw that my $1500 armoire was broken and they tried to cover it up. All that ASM is doing for me is paying out the .60 cents per pound -- reimbursing me $120. They told me that was the best they could do since I'm over my "10 days to report damages." Here's my question... How would I have known the item was damaged? The movers didn't TELL ME. The repair is costing $200. At first I thought ASM would pay for the whole repair considering how terrible my experience was. They are not, and I can't even say that I'm surprised. Never ever ever ever use this company!!! read more

Dwayne and the crew at A Simple Move were amazing. I recommend them for all friends that are moving!

This is the second time I've used ASM. Now that it's been about 2 weeks since my move, I have come to the conclusion that they broke every single piece of furniture I own. I will state it is mostly IKEA furniture but the crew from ASM that I used previously did not even scratch a piece of furniture and I have acquired no new furniture since the first move with ASM. Additionally, they "strong armed" me into hiring a third mover even though I scheduled only two. While I cannot speak to whether or not it would have been better or different or worse with a two man crew, all I know is if I could still stop payment on my check at this point, I would. read more

A Simple Move did a wonderful job moving my family from Boulder to Louisville. The guys were very respectful to our belongings and to us. Everything went great and with no problems what so ever. We have 3 kids under the age of five and to my surprise the stress wasn't there at all, thanks to the guys who really worked hard to make this as smooth as possible. Thank you A Simple Move! read more

I have to be honest, I did not use them for my move, BUT I would like to take a moment to tell you how impressed I am with them. On a random Saturday at around noon, I found out that there was a very good possibility that the other movers I had hired were not going to show up. As you know, moving is stressful enough, and then to have movers fall through made me want to stab myself. I called A Simple Move and without hesitation he revived my hope in humanity. He guaranteed that they would rescue me, but it would be late in the day. Being a bit skiddish, I was hopeful, and can I say that this group of guys had amazing communication with me and from the very first interaction. My original movers did finally show, and I have to say, I was disappointed because I wanted to give my dollars to the amazing team of A Simple Move. My next move will be with them, without a doubt!!!! read more

This was my first time using a moving company. After reading other reviews on here I went with these guys and it worked out great. They showed up on time, took as long as they expected, moved my stuff with barely a ding, and charged what they quoted. Can't beat that really. The only downside was that their truck wasn't big enough for all my stuff but just barely. I moved the last tiny bit myself later since I didn't want to pay for extra time to drive back again. read more

I used A Simple Move with my move this weekend. Dwayne, Chris and James were awesome. They took great care with our furniture. It wasn't an easy move with a flight of stairs and over 90 degree heat but they got it done professionally. It did take a little longer than I had planned but that was only because I had more stuff than I thought. If I had tried to do this with friends, it would have taken us three times as long. They were great and I would use them again. read more

Can't say enough good things about Dwayne and his crew. Total pro!! Was charged what Dwayne estimated the job at. No hidden charges!!! Highly recommend A simple move!! read more

Today was a not so simple move for a friend and it was as perfect as my two previous simple moves. I am keeping my rating at 5 stars.

All in all, A Simple Move did what I paid them to do. They arrived in a timely fashion, had a great attitude and generally took care not to break things. Unfortunately, the two movers' desire to get the move done quickly resulted in a few casualties. I packed 95% of my belongings myself. I should have packed 100% and everything would have been fine. It was almost as if the move was a weightlifting competition. Although it helped speed the process along, a filing cabinet was broken because they neglected to remove the files and instead moved all 60 pounds ith drawers and files in place. Same thing with my dresser. The entire bottom portion of a drawer was pushed up through the drawer because of a one-man lift. That one I fixed myself. Another casualty was a lamp shade. Not sure how that one got destroyed but it did. In the initial paperwork process I was offered full coverage insurance for 150.00, roughly the same price as two hours of two men working. I declined and went with the included coverage of .60 per pound. At .60 per pound, it really doesn't make much sense to even go through the process of filing a claim. If I could do it again, I would probably go the same route but would definately have packed 100% of my load. All in all, I had a good experience with these guys. The damage could have been avoided had I taken the time to pack everything properly. If I was paying this company to pack all of my belongings, I would buy the full coverage insurance. If, like me, you are looking for value, efficiency and friendly service, just make sure to take the time to properly pack your things properly. read more

Simply the best in Denver. If you call anyone else for your move, you're making a mistake. We've used A Simple Move several times since coming to Denver, and each time the crew has been on-time, courteous, and most importantly - flawless movers. We have a couple very large and heavy specialty pieces, and the Simple Move crew has navigated them up and down tight staircases multiple times without a single bump on the wall. They took the time to make a plan for moving these large items into and through the house, they communicated well with each other, and really went the extra mile to pad them and secure them extremely well in the truck. If you're tired of movers whose sole focus seems to be how fast they can get everything into the house (regardless of damage to furniture and walls) then call A Simple Move for the best service you'll find. They are the only company I trust. read more

We hired Dwayne and his crew to move from our apartment in Capital Hill to a home in the Highlands and our experience was nothing short of incredible. We had been burned in the past with moving companies so we were hesitant to hire another company but, after reviewing A Simple Move's reviews on Yelp and Dwayne's low estimate, we went ahead and booked it. Not only did they show up on time but, they completed the job in just under 2 hours with only 2 crew members, as we hoped. They were efficient, kind, friendly, personable, extremely skilled at what they do, and very reasonably priced! I can not express how satisfied we were with this company. They deserve a much higher rating than a 5. read more

We recently used A Simple Move to move some stuff out of storage into our house. The team showed up on time and worked pretty hard. They did damage a number of items (mostly from trying to move too bulky of items with only one person and trying to cram stuff into their truck). Most of our furniture was brand new and now it is scraped up, torn and dinged and dented. The price is pretty low, but make sure you check every item as they bring it in because we didn't notice the damage until after they had left. Damage included torn leather on couch, dings in wash/dryer, chips out of new footboard, etc. Also, as numerous other posters have noted, don't try to resolve this with the company. I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB regarding the damaged items and they lied in their response and refused to do anything to rectify the situation. It makes me wonder whether all the good reviews are from family and friends of the owners. I guess you get what you pay for and I would strongly recommend going with someone else if you want to keep your stuff in one piece! Just an additional follow up - here we are almost in March and still no resolution from the owners. The BBB was unable to get them to resolve the dispute and sent it to arbitration. The owners have yet to even respond to the BBB request for information on the complaint for the arbitrator. It appears to be a pattern that they just ignore you hoping you go away! read more

Easily the best moving company I've worked with. Everything was smooth from start to finish, and the prices are reasonable. Their team moved my furniture from a first floor one-bedroom to a larger third floor apartment. My entire apartment was loaded and in the truck within 30 minutes of their arrival. These guys don't waste time! My new place has difficult stairs and the movers did everything they good to get my furniture up there quickly and safely. This meant disassembling my couch then reassembling it, all in record time. Definitely the least stressful move I've ever had. The whole thing was done in two and a half hours. Highly recommended. read more

I used these guys for a local move in the Denver area last weekend. It's easy to be skeptical when they show up in an old u-haul that hasn't given the aesthetic make-over that most moving companies do on such trucks, but these guys are absolutely top notch. I was given a 7-9 arrival window but the team called ahead and showed up on 7am on the dot. While my original quote was for 4-5 hours, these guys cranked out my full move in just 3 hours - it was pretty awesome to see such work ethic from a crew that gets paid by the hour. The staff was incredibly polite, and very careful with some of my more fragile items (like a 60" plasma, which always scares me to death when I move with it). Couldn't recommend them more, though I hope I can stick in my new place for a while, these guys will absolutely be the first people I call in the even that I ever have to move again. read more

We used A Simple Move this past Monday to move 2 one bedroom apartments into a two bedroom on the 3rd floor. They showed up on time, totally early into the time frame I was given, and I was amazed at how fast and efficient they got my apartment cleared! For the second apartment, they were able to clear out my boy friends boxes and furniture faster than it took for them to drive there (Me: Denver/City Park, Him: Highlands Ranch). We knew the bulk of the time/work would be moving us into the new place, 3rd floor no elevator with 1 large bed, 2 large dressers and 2 couches, not to mention my entire LARGE book collection. They were amazing- and nothing broke, or was lost. I did get a tear in an Ikea bookcase I've had for over 5 years, so I can't complain that the particle board is finally breaking down- its moved with me from LA to Denver. All in all, Aaron and his crew of 3 men total were completely worth the time and money we spent and we couldn't be happier. Thank you for your hard work and friendliness! You made the hard the part the unpacking :) read more

What I can say???? Dwayne is DA MAN! :) I have utilized their services THREE times so far....once to move from Aurora to off of Colfax near City Park, and twice out in Centennial. The rates are reasonable, and they show up on time and do what they say they're gonna do! Last time did take a little longer for them to get done, but perhaps I should've asked for 3 guys, instead of 2.....anyhow, these guys have been pretty good, and all I ask is for people to keep their word and do what you say you're gonna do! And Dwayne has been good about getting back to me! read more
