A local recommended this place to me originally a few years ago. Since then, they've removed the crystals and mystical merch and added more cat merchandise products! As a cat owner of 3, I have loved returning to the store and seeing more new cat items each time! The owner and staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it is so convenient since it is right across the street from King Soopers and has a large free parking lot!, Besides having all the nice high-end cat food brands, they have these feather wands that my cats LOVE and go bonkers for. So I have been purchasing these wands annually for a few years now and now that I have become full-time cat-sitter, I regularly shop here for the feather wands and the super fresh From the Fields catnip that the cats go crazy for! Pet Paradise at the corner of 9th & Corona (913 N Corona) is one of the nicest little pet supply stores I've ever been inside. The ladies who work there truly know their business and love all the animals who come through the door. Every time we walk in they are ready with a treat, a smile, and are immensely helpful. If your pup is in need of a harness or collar, you can try it on before purchasing. My favorite "go to" treats are the freeze dried lamb lung which they sell in bulk and the "Pet Popcorn" that is made in Evergreen, CO and comes in multiple flavors such as Tilapia, Salmon, Beef Liver, and Bison Liver. Pet Paradise has been a fixture of the community for nearly 20 years. If you have a fur-baby, or care about someone who does, please pay them a visit. read more

I've been shopping here for 4 years since I got my pup. Everyone here is always extremely friendly and helpful. I went in today and mentioned that my Finn has not been eating his food for the past few weeks and they suggested some CBD treats to calm his nerves and also gave me a few samples of some different food brands. Hands down the best service, selection, and advice I have received since I brought my wild animal (puppy) home You can legit go in here for any/all pet supplies, get a tarot reading (probably reminding you that the fur baby you brought home requires a LOT of patience (and Neosporin), and purchase incense/candles to cover up the pee smell your new baby leaves all over during potty training. In all seriousness, I was referred to this place to get CBD treats for my new puppy to help calm her down. They were out of the treats because they are so popular, but put me on the list to call me once they arrive. Even though those particular treats were sold out, I was given a recommendation for another one that would help temporarily. Let me say... my puppy is knocked out and I'm finally feeling like I might get a good nights sleep so THANK YOU for knowing what would help! I love this place and so do my dogs. It's a quick walk from home, and they like to go to get maybe a little toy or a bone. Maybe a duck foot. It has a pretty small selection but they have specialty boutique items. Usually the owners are the cashiers so you really get a feeling that they care about their business. I will say sometimes I go in and go out without really saying anything to the cashier other than "receipt?" But honestly I'm not the type that that bothers me. Usually I have my head phones in anyway. There's also a cute little pegan store attached- I wanna say they're the same owners- but sometimes you can get your palm read and they have some cute jewelry, and essential oils, tarot cards, etc. Like I said it's a small boutique store but the prices are good, it's affordable, they're friendly, and my dogs love it. She's helped me find alternatives for products that were out of stock, and in turn helped me find more things my cats enjoy. (Try the dried chicken/duck feet if you have a cat that chews on things!) This place is really cute, especially the ladies and pups who live here. There's a metaphysical gift store located in the front, and all sorts of great natural foods, pricey toys and outfits for the doggie spoiler in the main pet store. I used to buy my frozen raw pet food here until they sold my special order to someone else when I didn't pick it up the same day I was called. I had to look elsewhere so my dog could have dinner, and wound up finding a place that happened to be closer to me and carried the same food, only cheaper (Zen Dog). And I would be remiss if I left out one more detail - the folks at this store offer a frequent buyer card where you buy a certain number of bags of food and you get one for free. That's pretty awesome considering the foods here are really high quality. Also, if you have any questions at all about dietary restrictions and foods that meet those requirements all the ladies that work here are incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly when helping you figure out what will work best for your furry friend. read more

I have been buying my natural & raw dog food, treats, etc. (for 3 dogs) monthly since this place opened so I have made many, many trips here over several years. They have a decent selection of natural foods and used to be one of the only centrally located places to get natural pet supplies and metaphysical goods too if you're interested. Sometimes their raw frozen dog food is freezer burned and sometimes not. Sometimes the women inside are nice but most of the time they say nothing, hardly a word. Ok, no problem...I don't go there to socialize. When I have needed help if I get the owner she has been nice, but lately I haven't seen her. (I hope she is on a beach somewhere) On a side note--they do offer a no-anesthesia dog/cat teeth cleaning every few months which has nothing to do with their store but is excellent. It was around $135/each and my dogs teeth were sparkling minutes later and no whimpering-the mobile vet/guy is amazing! The set up was a little back room-ish at first but all turned out well. However... The thing that bothers me about this store and why I am giving it a poor review is not the weird smell or knowing that some of the food is not very fresh or that after all my visits most of the women act like they have never seen me before, no, none of that...here is the kicker...they supposedly have a "buy a LOT of bags get ONE free" program but every time I have tried to redeem my points and get a free bag they say "oh not on THAT food anymore" or "I don't see your card anywhere, guess it's gone...sorry"...this has happened 5 times. Hmmm...I am losing interest quickly. Then last week I bought some $8.00 treats which my dogs reacted poorly to so I went in to exchange the box for a different flavor(which I have purchased before and dogs loved) and the woman snapped "we do not guarantee treats", wha? meaning they would not switch them for the exact same thing but different flavor and they were not nice or friendly about it. Really? No thank you, there is no reason for shop clerks to be rude. Ever. They are in a convenient location but I am done. Plus, even Vitamin Cottage now has some of the same natural pet foods at cheaper prices. read more

First of all I try to support local business more than the corporate chains. I have jogged past A Pets Paradise for years. They have been there for about 10 years and there are many reasons why. The owner is very helpful and hands on with her customers/employees. The staff is VERY VERY helpful and seem to enjoy their jobs. The have the best selection of A+++++ rated dog food. I have been searching for a runners leash for several mouths. They informed me that they had some on order and promised to call me personally when the shipment arrived. A Pets Paradise kept their promise!!! I had to call them a week later. The runners leash broke before my first run:( Yesterday I went in (during a jog) to return the item. They promptly gave me a new one (that works perfectly). The staff member was told to call the manufacture right away!!! That is customer service people! A Pets Paradise will always get my business. And of course-my dog Diesel will get the best of the best of dog products! read more

They have great customer service and the prices are about the same as other pet places in Denver. Also in the house is Quantum Alchemy, a metaphysical store that has tons of great products and a very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Rude and misleading staff! Called to see if they had an inflatable donut collar for my dog, never used the word cone. They informed me they did, I held the item for my husband to pick up. Turns out, it's was a hard cone and my husband purchased it, since I told him they were holding the item we needed. They will not allow any returns, only store credit, and we will not be giving them any future business. I made sure to describe the item clearly and call ahead, yet they still didn't understand. When I called back to see if maybe the wrong item was held and they do in fact have the donut collar, the lady was rude and snippy telling me I asked for a cone and it was my fault. So frustrating! Horrible customer service. We'll be selling this item online elsewhere as to not support this business. read more

I used to live three blocks away from A Pets Paradise and I've visited a few times. The first time was to actually go inside and see what they carried. I was very impressed with their selection of dog and cat toys, food and accessories. I was searching for a calming collar for my new cat and my roommates existing cat. A Pets Paradise was the only pet shop in the area that actually carried the collar I was looking for. They didn't have the three pack, but they did have one single collar left which I purchased. The collar worked great in helping the existing cat get used to the stress associated with introducing a new pet into the home. The only gripe I have about A Pets Paradise is the prices, they're a wee bit on the expensive side. I get it, the location says everything but that would be the only thing that keeps me from making this pet store my one and only. I have been coming here for over a decade. My pets nutrition and wellbeing are of utmost importance. Pet food has increasingly improved over the years and quality products are tough to find. A Pet's Paradise carries the highest quality products, complete with a knowledgeable staff to help navigate the ever changing landscape of pet nutrition. My pups have all had different needs over the years -- food that's easier on their stomach as they get older, food that's better for the coat of a coon hound versus a springer spaniel, supplements or treats for allergies. I've purchased two slow feeders for my voracious hound dogs, they love it! The high quality and affordable marrow bones are their favorite though. They carry locally made harnesses and toys, too. The staff is exceptional, and I have worked in restaurant customer service for over 20 years, so believe me I expect the best. When one dog food company began changing their formula to be "cheaper" for production and lower quality than I expected, the staff informed me and helped me find an alternative. The indepth knowledge they have and keep up on is invaluable. There have been times when I am out of food and they don't have the size or product I want, but happen to have some samples, to hold me over -- who does that? I trust them with my fur companions lives and with my dollars. If that's not an awesome relationship, I don't know what is! Stop in, wander around, ask questions, look at the fun stuff and remember, they are a locally owned shop that supports small business, which means better service and higher quality products for the community. read more

I always love to meet someone else who I can geek out with over pet food, and the owner of this shop is tops! She knows a lot about pet nutrition and is happy to give advice. The shop stocks all the brands a good pet store should plus toys and fun leashes to boot. But my rare 5 star rating comes from a shop owner who looks for ways to save me money. Not only did she suggest a similar brand of food that was cheaper, she told me how to get a buy-one-get-one coupon online for the pricey frozen raw food. Extra mega bonus points for how they keep your frequent buyer punch card there in a file, because I always lose mine. read more

Went in to buy goat's milk for my dog who seems to be having allergy and digestion issues. Inquired about how to best feed the milk and the cashier was very helpful. Shop is clean and cozy though parking (as always in Cap Hill) was a little tricky. Will definitely be back. Rude staff. I walked in today to grab dog food. I nicely mentioned that last time I was here I also bought some bully bits, and they made our dog throw up twice immediately after chewing on them. I asked if others had problems with this brand, since this is not the usual for our dog. The girl at the counter just shrugged and wrung up the dog food. The other girl there at the time was trying to get more information and was nicer, but the girl at the counter was rude and short. I also mentioned I was part of the reward program, and she just said "yup I know". She wouldn't even make eye contact, had a pissed off look on her face, and was very unprofessional. I expect more from a local mom and pop shop such as this. They did not offer to let the company know or replace the item with a different brand. I can easily order my $70 dog food online and avoid rude people such as this. I always try to support local business, but the way this staff acts is rude and not acceptable for a small local company. I can see from other reviews on here I am not the only one experiencing this type of service. I will take my business to another local dog food store. read more

Pros: great location in Cap Hill with adjacent parking lot large selection of food, toys, treats, etc. Cons: $5 minimum on credit or debit cards unfriendly staff (I've only been here one time and they just seemed disinterested, etc.).
