I love that there is ample parking and a chocolatier/ice cream shop right next door! I have 3 cats and I get all of the Fussie Cat brand needs met here! They have a great 15 for 15% off thing going which I love and I always purchase cans and pouches of the Fussie Cat brand.c It's convenient and easy. I love that they have the community bulletin board in the back and they posted my cat-sitting flyer there! Very cool! I actually found out about them from a client of mine who had Da Bee and Da Bird toys for her cat and she said she had purchased them from Chuck + Don's! I also see their ads all the time on guest YouTube accounts when I am playing cat-loft and cat tv channels for my cats! They also have a loyalty program that I am a part of as well! I've been to so many pet retail stores in Denver and one differentiator is that the cat stuff is in the front of the store!!! Was happy to see the store open in my neighborhood, recently adopted a rescue we named Olive. First dog that wasn't a short coat. At end of May went in to check out dog wash, was told of a great package special. Didn't purchase that day as there was a line. Went back June 2nd with to purchase package and was informed special had ended. Went ahead and purchased self wash 5 pack and left with a clean dog. Called on 8/24 a little after 7 to inquire if the wash area was clear as asked to do before just showing up. Was informed the wash area closes at 7 though store closes at 8. Went back on the 25th around 6:30 with and was informed that wash area was again closed as the tubs hadn't been sterilized. Asked what time store opens in the morning and was told 8:00. Show up this morning a little after 8 and find store isn't open and after going to C & D site I find that store opens at 9. The staff has been very friendly but I'm thinking I don't need to return. Just 3 months ago I purchased a retractable leash from this location. The Power Walker brand. My dog is a 16 lb dachshund, not am 80 lb rottweiler. I would think a $26 leash would last more than 3 months. When I called the store to inquire on my options all they said was I have 45 days for returns or exchanges, not taking into consideration this is a defective product I purchased there. No additional help was offered. Other than to go to petsmart. I find this unacceptable, and poor customer service on their behalf. It's a prime example when thinking outside the box is required or just common sense. read more

What a horribly run organization--if their customer support is any indication. Ordered two months ago and then set-up regular deliveries of dog treats. Received an email on 7/24/24 (today is 7/30/24) that the order has SHIPPED. Never arrived. I called yesterday 7/29/24 at 3:58pm and spoke to someone in customer service (shouldn't be called that actually). She indicated the best she could do was ask the warehouse and she would send them an EMAIL and get back to me. I called today--24 hours later. Got the same person. She, pejoratively, informed me that "I said I would let you know once I heard back" She then went on to say she received word three hours ago from her warehouse that it's being shipped from Minnesota and they have no way of knowing what the problem is (Again--this is customer service) and no idea when it will actually ship. She went on to tell me that they are a small company that went through bankruptcy and their smallness is what separates them from Amazon and others. I asked "Explain how this separates you?" She realized the foolishness of this comment and dodged it for about 7 minutes. Finally, she indicated that they CANNOT ship quickly, they CANNOT use overnight services, and most importantly--they charge $17 for a ground delivery of something that weighs maybe a pound? This is what separates them. You need to find another company--run from these knuckleheads. read more

It's a nice friendly fancy. Very overpriced pet shop. But as with the guy with the $65 dog leash that broke, make sure you read the fine print on returns. I started going there regularly a couple months ago. It was overpriced, but convenient. I hate signing up for Memberships just to get spam and no benefits and that's what Chuck and Don sounded like. What they didn't tell me was that unless I signed up, I would need a receipt for every transaction and I tried to return some week ago, fish chunks, and basically caused my dogs gums to bleed, and they refused to take it back or even offered to exchange it for a different bag. Granted I didn't have my receipt, but the same very nice guy has seen me in there several times in the last two or three weeks and he said "my hands are tied. ". Come on! Other: It has a very hoity-toity feel and I've seen people pull their dogs away from a toy because they're so neatly stacked in alphabetical and size order lol. And the treater up on top of the table so the dogs can't go by and sniff them. It's a dog and cat store people. read more

I love Chuck & Don's! I found out about this place when I was apartment hunting believe it or not. The staff was telling us about it and so we stopped by. Oh man! They had all the food we could ever want and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The shirts that everyone is wearing now saying they work so their dogs can live the life is no joke. My dog is so high maintenance. She can't have grains, chicken, potatoes... pretty much anything that goes into dog food! I told the staff that and they didn't even hesitate! Showed us like 5 different options for food to get! And the best part, if she doesn't like it or do well with it, you get a refund!!!! Needless to say we went to town. They also have a friends program where you can get a bag of food free after you buy so many. You also get a sweet coupon boom that's so worth it with your own rebate inside! The first time I actually used the coupons, I walked out with $95 of treats and foods for about $60. This last time I went, $95 for $150 worth of food and treats! And it's all quality stuff! We cannot say enough good things about Chuck and Don's. We brought Wally home almost two months ago now and have been in the store quite a few times since then getting different foods, treats, chew toys and most recently, a new harness. Every time we go in, we are happily greeted by the staff and Wally is instantly showered with pets. I love that the people working at the store show a true passion for the animals that come in with their owners. The first time we came in, we purchased an EasyWalk harness for him that worked well for a bit. Recently, we noticed he doesn't like putting it on, he's stopping on walks and outings to scratch at it all the time and seemed to be causing general discomfort. We came into Chuck & Don's to see what other options there were. We tried on a Front Range harness by Ruffwear that didn't rub his arms the way his EasyWalk harness did. We pulled it out, sat down and someone decided he did not want it on. The staff generously spent a great amount of time with us using positive reinforcement to get him near the harness, then on, then walking around in it and fitted well. We are so excited to have a harness that doesn't bother his arms anymore and he's getting more used to it every minutes it's on. We have also been in because he's a picky eater so have tried lots of different foods, treats, wet foods, etc. and we appreciate all the help we've received at Chuck & Don's. Visited the store based on great reviews on yelp and I was pleased. Big store, huge selection of dog food. Customer service was helpful with pet food selection/ differentiation between different brands. They're not pushy at all with what you decide to purchase. And if your pup can't tolerate the new food, bring it back for exchange and they'll donate your old bag to animal shelters. Loved that! Will definitely shop here again. Who reading this went to an adoption event with no plans to actually take home a pet, and now you are feverishly searching the internet for what to do next... (raises hand slowly). That was me. And somehow, amongst all the reviews, I found Chuck & Don's and they were a life saver. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted and then my nerves were quickly lessoned when the amazing associate (who's name I don't recall), basically took my hand and walked me throughout the store. Their new pet coupon book is amazing! I'm not even sure I paid that first trip, as it seemed like everything was free. Since then, I have checked the cost of my pet food online, and their location is more affordable than ordering from the large retailers, plus I get my 10th bag free. If you become a "Friend of Chuck and Don" in the store, you receive a coupon every three months, I think, that is a percentage of what you spent during that time period. The service, for one, is by far the most amazing staff in any place I've ever been to--counting restaurants and hotels. The people are always kind, hold open the door for you, chat, recommend things, carry your bags of dog food out to your car, etc. Just stunning. There's always lots of homemade cookies lined up near the checkout, and they have almost every brand of pet products needed. Loads of toys, treats, food, beds, cages and lots more. My dog is a border collie, and I got 6 different types of toys for her here, a cage, plush bed, treats and food here, all of which have been mind-blowingly impressive, working very well for nearly 2 years of a hyper puppy. I really like this shop. They sell quality pet food, offer a rewards program, and carry the 50 lb bags out to your car with a smile. This is not a pet store with all sorts of accessories like PetSmart. They do have some toys, treats, poop bags, etc., but they are primarily a high quality food store. We visited Chuck & Dons to get some new grain-free dog food for our Bichon. The store is very clean and well-kept, a nice change from the dirty feeling of our local Petco. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about various kinds of dog food. They were able to make some recommendations on food for our dog, and reminding us how to transition her to the new food properly. The selection of food here is wonderful, much larger than the local "pet store" chains. I want to preface this by saying I have worked in a small, independent pet store before. It's hard work (lots of heavy lifting, dealing with messes from owners and animals, etc). So I understand if someone isn't feeling great at a job like this two hours before closing. However, from the second I walked in, the employees actively avoided helping me. As I approached an employee for help, she scuttled into the bathroom, ostensibly to stare hopelessly into the mirror and remain far away. Selection is also absolutely poor, and I cannot believe the prices. They're through the roof, and I know the prices on these brands. If I hadn't been desperate coming back from work in Cherry Creek, I wouldn't have ever purchased. Cashier was decently friendly, but it didn't make up for the fact that I was the only customer in the store and received no help. read more

Always been pretty satisfied with Chuck and Don's. Their employees are usually friendly, and very helpful. I normally only go there for my dogs' food, but sometimes like to shop at their bone/rawhide area. I'd say some of their toys and other treats are a bit pricey, but it's mainly a place for high quality pet food, so the expensive stuff isn't surprising either. Being in the middle of Cherry Creek shopping area is probably a good reason for that! Will keep going there, for sure! read more
