The crew was professional, paid attention to the details, and did a very good job with the cleanup afterward. The pricing was also a major plus. We received a quote from Black Diamond that was more than 50% higher. Black Diamond certainly does a lot more marketing, but we didn't see any difference in the proposed work to justify paying that much more. The pavers and borders came out great, and the finished work has made a noticeable difference to the front of our house. If you're getting quotes for a paver project, I'd definitely recommend getting a quote from them. Good quality work, reasonable pricing, finished ahead of schedule, and no mess left behind.

Of course stoneware being their speciality, they brought sample stoneware to let me see different shade tones color to pick. Moreover, as added benefit, they also installed my backyard plant watering system. All individual plants has plastic tubing, watering each plant of whole backyard landscape! And enhanced with auto watering. Plants divided into 3 groups get watered same day time but at different times. They set up timer. Mine is twice a week watering 3 to 4 days spaced out. No more self watering them. All work done is gonna save me time! So value wise I'm saving time more inside house than outside. Summer exception I always plant vegetables in summer. Again, Step Up did that. By introducing better ways to manage one landscape, I have more time inside than outside work. Steve

Trex, however, does have specific foundation requirements that support the boards and we needed our foundation updated. We met with 3 companies all of whom had good reviews/referrals. We chose California Fence primarily because of Bill. This may sound silly but part of the reason is because when he come over to meet with us and provide a quote, he was covered with dirt and sawdust, which reinforced what he was telling us - He is on the job working with his crew all day unless running out to do a quote. He listened to our needs and gave us experienced feedback. We had a medium sized tree which needed removing and killing, which he also did, and he needed to work around a gas line to our fire pit. We liked his attention to detail and his straight to the point matter. After answering our questions he immediately brought out his tape measure, little book and pencil and worked out a quote. His crew is composed of his family and a couple of family friends that have been working with Bill for years. They were all very friendly and respectful and seemed to share Bill's attention to detail. Bill and crew were always available to us and responsive to any questions we may have had. We were impressed with the quality of their work. When they were done we had a beautiful new Trex deck and the area was nicely cleaned up. We are very pleased and are happy to recommend California Fence.
