Great communication, excellent diagnostics, shows up when they say they will, the job is always done right. What more could you want?

Chappell's website claims "FREE ESTIMATES on all well services". Don't believe it for a minute. I called them for an estimate to look at and repair my under- performing well pump. They sent a guy out, then mailed me a "service call" invoice for $178.20. After I sent them a letter concerning this issue, they stubbornly insist I owe them the billed amount. Be sure to double-check their math on any estimate from them. Discovered several "errors". One guess in who's favor... No resolution after 2 months, and still receiving billing invoices. Unfortunately, they are currently "the only game in town", and take advantage of that. Given a choice, I would NEVER call them again. Don't make the same mistake I did. Negative 10 stars if possible... read more

I have worked with Chappell before and it has been fine, I have been living on houses with wells for years. In this case, we moved into a 1999 house that had no above-ground water tank or booster pumps. I needed all that installed, plus a separate electrical panel for the boosters and also, a manual transfer switch in case of a blackout. Randy was my rep this time and handled it very well. I have never done a project this big with Chappell. I had given another local well-down pump and well company a shot at this job as well, but the rep seemed disinterested, for the first scheduled visit he simply was a no-show to work that week and work had no idea where he was. Since no one was calling me to reschedule, I did follow up and got that rep out, but he seemed disinterested and--after giving me an on-the-spot guesstimate of the job... yes, you guessed it, never followed up with a real quote. Considering that behavior, I put my confidence in Randy from Chappell. The follow up was great, considering it was before, during and after the Xmas holiday, and now we have exactly what we need. See pictures and video: https://youtu.be/EHutDNjMi-c I had the concrete pad poured by my own sub. For Chappell's work: the pictures show the blue pumps, the nice shiny new piping, the green electrical panel and the tank, and some bonuses Randy suggested that I did not even ask for: the cool sight-level disk one can see from quite a ways a way, and a third feed valve on the main piping, in case I need to add something in the future. Very nice touch! read more

For a service call, Chappell charges $168/hour plus travel time to and from the location. Their rate is higher than at least some of their competitors, but I thought it would be worth it. It was not. When the technician arrived, I was surprised to learn that he brought an apprentice with him who would be doing the work. The office should have asked me if this was ok (in advance) and they should have lowered the hourly rate to reflect the difference in experience between an apprentice and a full fledged technician. Obviously, an apprentice is in training and is not as knowledgeable or efficient as a seasoned technician. They are learning on the job at my expense. Nonetheless, I was charged the full hourly rate. In addition, I was charged for a part, which I did not authorize and which did not fix the problem. Finally, the office manager bullied me for immediate payment, before even providing an invoice or any written record of the troubleshooting that they did. That's not right. I felt they took advantage of me and overcharged me. I do not recommend this business and will hire another company to repair my well. read more

Great response time. Great service. Always gets the job done on our well and very helpful. Reasonable prices.

Received a quick response for replacement of the control box relay on my well. The service tech, Jonathan, was great to work with and he answered several of my questions reflecting his knowledge. I definitely would recommend this company for any well service needs. read more

Awesome job. Great owners, workers are friendly and knowledgable and work very hard!!

We called them out to help us repair our well pump. John came and replaced a couple parts for $400 and broke our pump in the process. There is a crack in the pump that wasn't there before. He must have overtightened. $400 for a broken system and no water. Do NOT trust these folks. read more

Randy was extremely helpful in assisting me to install my own water system. They have all the parts, pipe etc. that you would need if you would like to do your own work. For any work that you don't want to do they can also provide you an estimate and do the work for you. This is a unique business. It is a full-service company that also has an in-house store for people to purchase hard to fine parts. read more

I used Chappell for the first time to replace 2 5000 gallon water tanks. They were very prompt, very professional and did great work. read more

I have on older place in Gilroy with a large water tank and funky old irrigation and plumbing. Chappell did some good detective work and solved several problems at my place at a good price. They must be busy, as they wont send a technician without a minimum charge, so make sure you have a real problem or job before you call. this may be negotiable, but not sure. read more

I called this company 2 months ago to enquire about fixing my well. The guy on other end was nice and courteous and took all my info and stated he was busy that week and will call and come next week to look at my pump and this was almost 2 months ago. He never called never came or never said he cant do the job so basically it just slipped through the cracks. So i dont know what to make out of it but on to next one. read more

Lost all well water to the house. Called Chappell and they responded promptly and determined that a two inch pipe had failed. Within four hours the repair was made, tanks pressurized, and back operational. Very happy and highly recommend Chappell!!! read more

Chappell Pump is relatively responsive and will complete your work. However, beware of their billing practices. I was charged full labor to repair work that they had completed previously and was currently under warranty. I have never had any company charge me twice for the same labor within a year and while under warranty. In addition, I was told that a minimum service fee of $119 will be charged every time a technician arrives at my location regardless of the situation or how much time it takes the technician to complete work. In my case, the actual time spent on my premises lasted about 20 minutes each visit. Also, understand that billing starts from the point of departure from the shop and runs all the way to return to the shop. You are expected to pay for travel time. Despite this, the office was not the least sympathetic. My concerns were met with adversarial attitude. It's a shame because I think they do good work. read more

I needed to get an appraisal for installing some above-ground water storage tanks and a hydrant to support a new building that I am putting up almost next door to the business. After 4 days of trying to contact them for information, I have yet to be successful despite daily attempts. It appears that they are too busy to return calls, so I am going elsewhere. read more

This Company is more concerned about being paid then servicing there clientele. I will not be using them again, calls went unanswered and the Office is generally indifferent to the point that I felt like I was interrupting them from doing something more important. Anybody but them. read more
