A Nails does a wonderful job and provides manis and pedis that last! I have to pass many nail salons to get to this one and it takes me 15-20 min, but it's worth it! Pedicure - stellar - done by Suki. She's a gem and efficient. H O W E V E R, my manicure is a different story. I went in with acrylic extensions and asked to have them removed and to receive a gel manicure. This is what I end up with. First off, my extensions were peeled off, rather than shaved off with the electric file. This left part of my extensions of my nails to which the manicurist simply painted over. There was no shaping and hardly any nail care done. I am most disappointed in the fact that this manicure was done by the owner, Bill. Kevin whom I imagine owns the salon, told me that he was the BEST, THE BEST, must of told me 20 times, high fiving me? This was the fourth place I've tried, nails weren't even fully dipped, they started lifting right away. And he charged me $55 telling me he gave me a manicure as well and he didn't charge me for it, really he didn't do crap, then he tried to take an extra 5 for tip and I am a great tipper, he didn't even put lotion on my hands. I have had acrylics done here twice both times were horrible experiences. They do a horrible job shaping the nails every time I've had it done there they make all my nails uneven and crooked and thick and they apply the acrylic unevenly, there is missing color on the sides of the nail too, it is the worst acrylic manicures I've ever had. Very lazy filers they do not even know how to do any sort of nail design they don't do ombré or marble nails and they don't keep up with any current nail trends. I wanted coffin shaped nails I went home with short stubby squares. It looked like a small child did my nails. The nail tech that did my manicure told me how much she hated her job and how excited she was to be retiring. They shape their nails poorly and design their nails like it's 1999. If you want some thing beyond just a plain color or a French manicure look elsewhere. Every time I've had an acrylic set done here my nails look tacky and horrible. The first time I came I went to a guy he made me wait an hour and a half to get my nails done, The only reason I put up with that was because I was going to Las Vegas the next day and had to get them done. I didn't even end up leaving the salon till over an hour after closing because he was so late for our pre-booked appointment. every time I come here they're at least half an hour or more late for me. They also charge $10-$15 more for their fills than most of the salons in the area. The salon is clean it's newly renovated but they don't do a good job on acrylics if you just want to manicure and something super basic I guess it's OK but if you're someone who wants acrylics done do not even bother coming here. They also have very limited neon color selections their color selections pretty limited compared to the nail salons I've gone to in Milwaukee or California. A nails needs to up their game and get some nails techs that put detail into their craft, very sloppy work. read more

Tried this place twice now and was disappointed each time. First time I paid $20 for a normal paint manicure and didn't even get a hand massage. Second time last night decided to give it another try. The woman doing my manicure was extremely rude. Everything she said sounded rushed and angry. She didn't ask what shape I wanted my nails (and before she filed them down to the finger tip, they were actually at a point where they could be made into a nice shape). She was removing my cuticles with such haste that she made my fingers BLEED twice! I've never felt in so much pain after a manicure. The manicure itself was also pretty sloppy with some large globs on some of my fingers that totally ruin the shape. Will not be going back ***update- I got a nice message from the manager apologizing and asking more details so they can work with the nail tech who did the manicure. This is hands-down the best nail salon I have ever been to! Most nail salons seem unclean and full of germs. A Nails is just the opposite. It was extremely clean and well-sanitized. The staff was friendly and willing to help me when choosing a nail color. They were also detail oriented with the quality of my nails. I've been having my nails done for over 30 years and A Nails is one of the most disappointing nail salons I've ever been to. I had a nail fill and polish change on my toes there. Nail tech was too busy taking calls and appointments to work on my nails right. The shapes were different and had to be repaired three days later when I went back to have my toe polish repaired because it was chipping off. Two days later it was chipping off again. To start off, I was looking forward to this appointment for weeks. I asked for a full set of gel acrylic nails. As I got the nails done I didn't love them but I didn't know what to say to fix them. This was my wrong doing because I didn't speak up enough. They turned out nothing like I wanted, with the wrong shape and length. The length is short and looks basically like my normal nails. Even the nails are a bit jagged and the almond shape looks more like a circular shape. As soon as I payed I walked out and was extremely disappointed and cried. It seems dumb to cry for nails but I spent my money from working this summer on these nails and they just weren't what I had in mind. I was very frustrated and had no idea what to do. I felt bad I didn't say anything so I called an hour or so after. My mom, friend, and grandma called later and could not get a hold of them all day until around 6:20. I hoped they would be able to fix them, however they said there was nothing they could do. Overall the environment in the place was good, however the nails I had were far from good. I have gotten my nails done many times and these are by far my least favorite . I'm disappointed there is nothing they could do and that the only option is to reshape the already short nails. I just thought I would share my review because i'm very upset. The people there are nice and my friend had a very good nails. So I might have just had a bad experience. I really wanted to love this place after getting a pedicure here with a friend a couple weeks ago. I'm willing to pay a little bit extra for a nice atmosphere and this place certainly has it, however, the quality is severely lacking. I paid $55 for a full acrylic set with gel polish, but I feel like I could have done just as good of a job myself at home with my store bought LED lamp. I asked for shorter nails, and even provided a picture of the shape and length I wanted, however one of my nails was broken off and shorter than the rest. Instead of adding a tip to that one nail after I mentioned it, the technician just ignored it, so I now have nails of different lengths. He hardly said a word to me throughout the entire manicure. He also seemed very rushed and did the bare minimum (I did have an appointment, I was not a walk in). He pulled my cuticles up without any oil or moisture (which made them look worse than when I came in), didn't use any base coat, and gooped the gel polish onto my nails resulting in an uneven and lumpy texture. I also feel like usually there's some hand lotion or something similar involved in a manicure, but there was none of that here. In addition, there are small spots of polish cured onto my skin that I didn't notice until I left, dust particles under the polish of one of the nails, and the cuticle of my thumb is flooded with polish that is already peeling up. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back here. I can get much better quality for less money at most other nail salons in the area. read more

I've been here many times, the first several times were fine. The last three times I've been there the customer services and actual nail service has been poor. I spoke to the owner during my last visit about my issues with the last two appointments. He did my nails and did a poor job. My nails are streaky, look chunky (got a gel manicure) and the nail polish application at the cuticle is uneven. He constantly looked at his watch and did not speak to me. I was pretty disappointed with my second trip to A Nails. My first trip went well and I left a 30% tip for a mani and pedi service - I was feeling generous even though the service was good but not exceptional. The second time, I had the same manicurist but she barely filed my nails (I had to file them after coming home, as the edges were sharp and totally crooked), she rushed through painting them (the polish is uneven - thick on some nails and barely visible on others), and wouldn't let me finish holding under the light (said to take them out before the machine finished beeping). It was the quickest manicure I ever received with a 5 second "massage" and barely any cuticle work. In today's market, service of this kind should be $15 not $40. Deeply disappointed and will not be back. read more

I have been getting my nails done with shellac and dip powder for the past 5 years, and despite living in multiple states and attending many nail salons, I have never found one as good as A Nails. I have very long natural nails that need time and attention to detail at each appointment. Billy has done my dip services since I began going to A Nails, and I could not be happier with the service he provides. Billy and the other members of the staff at A Nails are client-centered and take time to make sure that they are doing an excellent job. This salon is so good that I drive from Chicago once a month to get my dip changed. While many salons do dip powder, not many will take their time and do an excellent job. The salon is clean, but that does not make up for one of the worst powder dip manicures that I have ever had. The nail technician did not cut/push down my cuticles at all. It had been a few months since my last manicure, so this badly needed to be done, but it was towards the end of the night and he was in a rush (although I'm not sure if this would have been done regardless, as it was my first and last time there and I'm not sure what normal procedure is for them). So now, only a week out from getting my nails done (and $50 + tip later), it looks like my nails are extremely grown out and have been on for 3+ weeks. Also, after he was "done" with the manicure, the final coat over the powder made the surface of the nail very bumpy and uneven - definitely not the powder dip quality I am used to. When I called this to his attention (and returned the next day to try to remedy the situation), he was perplexed by the results and the best he could do was to put a gel layer over the powder dip. Obviously there is a problem with the product. With all of these issues, I will definitely not return. read more
