The service here is just top notch for a laid back place. They write you birthday cards, care about what they recommend, and generally just make you feel loved. The burrata is out of this world, and the fusilli e scallops is just comfort food from the heavens. The chicken park is also fantastic. Honestly there isn't a bad thing in the menu. I challenge you to find out. They have awesome wine bottle specials during the week too. If you haven't been you're simply missing out. A Mano has been in my weekly rotation for several years now. Went for a birthday dinner to A Mano. It was a great experience! The service was perfect and very attentive. The food all came out at the perfect time. Started it all off with focaccia which was a special. While everything was wonderful, if I was going to be picky, I'd say the focaccia was missing the typical olive oily base which makes it tasty and crunchy. It was good, but didn't really make me think of it as focaccia. Moved on to the carbonara and it was amazing. The peas were sweet, the cheese was substantial, and the pasta had a great texture. Next up was the steak. It wasn't anything over the top but it was very tasty. The mushrooms on top were also delicious. I will say, I used the butter from the focaccia on top of the steak and it took it to the next level. Finally, for the birthday, they provided ice cream with a spiced orange marmalade on top. It was very unique but very creamy and tasty. One last note, pricing here was exceptional. I feel like you really get the value you're paying for which is something I've found hard to find lately. "Welcome to Atlanta" in my Ludacris & Jermaine Dupri voice/song. Yelpers, I was in Atlanta for a week and have to report about the hidden restaurant gem I was invited to for a birthday dinner. A MANO is absolutely a place to experience! A mano is small and intimate. Imagine a treehouse with lighted lights wrapped all round the premises. As I was walking up the stairs to approach the party of four, I instantly felt the escape of a successful ending of a long work trip. I knew what orders I was placing as I throughly stalked their Instagram page and menu. But the most tugging part was choosing which wines to pair with each dish. The waitress that was assigned to our table was very informative on which palate went best with my antipasti, primi and dolci! She even let me taste test the wines I was indecisive about to narrow down the perfect option. For that cheers () to customer service as I strongly dislike wasting money on something I may not like. For my antipasti, I had the Fig salad with a 2022 Vermentino wine. The Fig salad had every bursting flavor possible such as the sliced fig, squared fontina cheese and spiced pecans with light red wine, honey vinaigrette. I have no clue how a mano measured the exact amount of dressing I would need to finish the salad, but they did! The dressing wasn't too much, too little just right for that particular portion. Each sip of the 2022 Vermentino white wine with my fig salad was a complete indication that I got it right as it had notes of fresh peach. For my primi, I had the Sweet Potato Rigatoni with either the 2021 Orange wine or the 2020 Prosecco Rosé. I know for sure those where the two I was trying to choose from during the taste test. I never envisioned sweet potato in a rigatoni but it was a game charger especially with fried sage! Drum roll please.... The Lemon Ricotta Poundcake for my dolci almost made me shed a tear. It was so DAMN good (excuse my language)! I kid you not, before one of the ladies from the party got up to use the ladies room, I asked if anybody wanted to try my dessert. As they were sharing the birthday girl's complementary dessert with four spoons. She said "I might when I come back" and I said it might not be here when you do! And I wasn't joking! It was that flavorsome with a side of vanilla gelato. That ice cream took it up from a 10/10 to a 15/15. Arrived to the restaurant with a reservation for 845 but didn't get our entree until 10 pm. While sitting I noticed the three tables that came after us received their entrees well before us as our waitress did. She apologized and promised it was on its way. Still waiting finally it arrived at 10 pm. It was evident that the waitress didn't have the authority to compensate us for anything so we asked for the manager. The manager, wow. As I noticed from where I was sitting that a conversation was being had regarding the situation, he had already formed a body motion that was not in the best interest of the customer. As he approached the table he decided to pour a glass of water, why? He showed no compassion to our experience at all. Its not like we couldn't afford the meals or drinks we had it was just the principle. After he was being so unprofessional and non caring we just asked for the bill so we can leave. Union our departure we notice him chatting up the situation with other members of the wait staff. So disappointing. Our waitress was a gem though. But as for that manager, awful. Just had one of the best meal experiences in a long time. My husband and I were in town for a concert and discovered this place via YELP, so we booked a reservation to see what the hype was about. This place did not disappoint. We ended up ordered 3 entrees to share just so we could try different dishes. Between the carbonara, shrimp spaghetti pesto, and blue cheese steak we were in heaven. The flavors were fresh and of quality, our service was on point. We left this restaurant wanting more. I LOVE a mano and it never fails to satisfy when I'm looking for a nice restaurant with good food on the fly. This place is charming inside and out. I love the greenery interwoven with lights on the outside, and the cozy mood lighting indoors. Definitely more of a place for a small group of friends or a date night! My favorite dish is the Fusili with scallops. I've tried enough of the other dishes that I've settled that I'll be getting this one each time. The flavor is hard to describe, but very rich and deep. We had the special soup of the day, roman sandwich, Italian hoagie, and sampled all the desserts: affogato, panna cotta, and the special dessert of the day, lemon posset. Can't go wrong with any of the options here. Saturday lunch was busy but not too busy, a few open tables, and a very comfortable and cozy ambience. The staff was amazing, friendly, and provided great service throughout. We are definitely coming back. Note that lunch and dinner menus are different. A mano is located in Old Fourth Ward. For parking, there's about a handful spots so you would need to find street parking if you're not so lucky. Opposite to parking, we loved that A mano had plentiful of outdoor seating set up for the pandemic and dogs are allowed. Some of their high points were the friendly service, burrata, and cacio e pepe. Burrata is a must try with the delicately delicious cheese, paired perfectly with divine oil and balsamic vinegar. Definitely wanted to get more than one. For the cacio e pepe, it's a simple signature Italian pasta composed of cheese and pepper and yet not all are great. But A mano has perfected their dish here as I had the least expectation for this out of the 3 pastas that we ordered, and yet this was my favorite. While not my drink, the old fashion was super zesty and delicious that I would recommend as well. What I had been looking forward to was the fusicilli but felt that it was little fishy for me and the pasta a bit undercooked. My husband did enjoy it however. For the cabornara, the raw egg overpowered the flavor for me that I wish I had tasted it before I mixed it all up. House made soda had a very unusual tanginess but was good at the same time. Bread pudding was a tad lacking the ooey gooey effect but did hear that they have been cooking it differently during the pandemic so I will give it another chance later. We didn't get the Voga gelato as dessert as we have been buying it in pints from their store in Inman Park and indulging at home, but would definitely recommend this to ice cream lovers. Overall, the good outweighed the bad and would come back to enjoy new dishes. Oh and the pasta dish portions were a bit on the small side. read more

I finally went to this place and it was so great! I can't stop thinking about that little mixed green salad. It was so fresh and the dressing was the perfect combination of sweet and citrusy. My friends and I all ordered pasta dishes and they were all delicious. My favorites were the Bolognese and the penne with sweet potatoes and candied nuts (I don't remember the name). The staff was absolutely flawless! They were all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our server, Matt, was excellent!! Went here to celebrate an anniversary dinner. Loved the cozy neighborhood atmosphere, and food was delicious! Carrots with pesto was delicious. Not overcooked and full flavor. Loved our salads- the apple salad and fig salad. Good balance of sweet, savory and crisp. For my entree I went with the eggplant Parmesan. This is where my personal preference is to have a bit more sauce and flavor, but I am amazed with how crispy the breading on the eggplant was! And then to top it off, the staff had signed a personalized anniversary card for us at the end! Especially at a time when service has been mediocre at most other restaurants, this was a great touch! This is a small, charming, neighborhood restaurant that works just as well for a nice, casual night out as it does for a special, romantic date. I recommend it. In this sense, it reminds me of BoccaLupo in nearby Inman Park, though it's not as big nor as popular. a mano opened July 7, 2017 in a small, freestanding building at the corner of Ralph McGrill and Glen Iris, about a mile south of Ponce City Market. Free street parking is available on nearby residential streets such as Wabash and E Ave NE. We beat the Friday dinner rush, arrived before 6:30pm, and snagged a spot in their tiny on-site parking lot (also free). Inside, the restaurant has a cozy dining room and bar. Outside, they have quaint and whimsical patio seating, covered and decorated with string lights and planters. All in all, it's a pleasant, inviting, and intimate atmosphere. During our visit, the menu featured 16 different starters, pastas, entrees, and sides. Examples included burrata, cacio e pepe, veggie lasagna, and pork chop. There were about a half-dozen desserts including panna cotta, tiramisu, and gelato. Prices ranged from $10-25 each for most pastas and entrees and $7-9 each for most sides and desserts. In addition, they have a full bar with beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits. One of their popular drinks is the granita to-go ($9) -- shaved frozen wine (rotating flavors) with citrus and simple syrup served in individual to-go pouches with straws. Here's what we had: Antipasti * Charred octopus ($17) - potato, caramelized fennel, citrus salad Primi * Scallop fusilli ($18) - diver scallops, mushrooms, farm greens, cream * Carbonara ($17) - tagliatelle, house pancetta, Grana, spring peas, farm egg Contorni * Cauliflower ($7) - black pepper, creme fraiche, pecorino, herbs Everything was wonderful. In general, the food was top-notch. Very rich and heavy. Also, fresh and flavorful. We could tell the pastas - the fusilli (corkscrew) and tagliatelle (ribbon) - were fresh and homemade. They had excellent texture. Soft, delicate, and quite appetizing. The charred octopus was great. We got a thick, meaty tentacle that was nicely charred. It was cooked well; tender and not rubbery. Seasoned and tasty. I liked the caramelized fennel, which was golden brown, crispy, and brought a unique flavor and subtle aroma to the dish. The citrus salad was a good accompaniment too. Ripe, sharp, sweet, juicy, and refreshing. Both the scallop fusilli and the carbonara were terrific. These pastas were packed with outstanding flavor and mouthfeel. Just downright comforting. In the scallop fusilli, the diver scallops were small, but delectable. Smooth and succulent. I especially liked the long, firm mushrooms. Generally, I'm a fan of creamy pastas and this was definitely that. On the carbonara, broken egg yolk was served on the side (we got a takeout order). We poured the yolk on top of the pasta and mixed it in ourselves. Everything about the carbonara was fantastic, from the chopped bits of high-quality house pancetta to the yummy Grana cheese. The cauliflower was incredibly rich and oily. I'm sure the creme fraiche had a lot to do with it. Any health benefits from the vegetable were negated and then some by all the salt and oil. However, the cauliflower tasted spectacular. It was full of flavor. Although I have to admit, I think it was a little too heavy overall. Our order was served in a small puddle of oil and cream. I mean, it tasted great, but it was probably a bit much. On the downside, I thought the portions were somewhat lacking given the price paid. I did appreciate the quality and taste though. Fine presentation too. Service was okay/good. Despite placing our order ahead of the evening rush, we still had to wait about 30 minutes. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly including owner George DeMeglio who was polite and made sure every customer was taken care of. This was our second time at a mano, we made reservations on the porch to celebrate our anniversary. Absolutely wonderful experience! Last time we were sitting inside at the bar, but it was great sitting on the porch too-- it's heated and they provide blankets if needed. We started out with the insalata mista and an order of the fried potatoes. The salad had a great dressing that wasn't overwhelming, and the greens were fresh! The potatoes were delicious and well seasoned, and they came out crispy. I ordered the whispered serenade, which was a spiced gin drink with sherry and egg foam-- it had some really unique flavors. For the main dishes, we got the salmon and the chicken parm with the side of fusilli. The salmon dish was a bit small for the price, but it was cooked perfectly. The real star of dinner was the chicken parm-- definitely recommend! The pasta sauce was a bit sweeter than I would've liked, but not bad. For dessert we ordered the affogato, which was a perfect end to dinner! They also surprised us with a dessert and a cute card for our anniversary, which is such a thoughtful touch!! It's been more than a couple of years since my last review, but my feelings about a mano have not changed. We were recently back for my fiance's birthday, and had the best time. Their drinks still hit the spot, with a great house vermouth and delicious cocktails. The burrata starter is one of the better burratas I've had around Atlanta. We had their carbonara which was so glossy and porky, and their cacio e pepe which was similarly delicious. The eggplant parm has an amazing ratio of crispy outside surface area. We were feeling especially indulgent that night and had two desserts--the bananas foster bread pudding and a panna cotta. I'm physically incapable of seeing bread pudding on a menu and not ordering it. Both were incredible. Because we were celebrating a birthday, the staff even wrote a little birthday note for my dinner buddy, and we felt so well taken care of in every way. A mano is such a treasure! read more

A friend and I visited a mano for the first time after a joyful bike ride on the beltline. The pasta primavera was delightfully fresh, so delicious and perfectly seasoned, though I was physically sated, I left with a gentle yearning for more. The vegetables so verdant! The gluten free fettuccine so fresh and tender! Our server said all their vegetables are locally sourced. One of the best hidden gems of Atlanta. My favorite thing about a Mano was the classy, mello vibes. Great spot for casual night out or a date night. It's cool how they incorporated the outdoor style seating that cities like NYC have. The menu is simple but sufficient. I ordered the cacio el Pepe with cauliflower, both of which were great. The cauliflower was a bit on the oily side but other than that, the meal was perfect. My absolute favorite part was the bread pudding that we ordered for desert- that has to be one of the best deserts I've ever had in my life The service was fast and efficient and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. House red slaps. Parking is very limited -- plan to park on the street nearby (if you can) or find other transit here. We booked a reservation weeks in advance and although there were plenty of empty outdoor tables when we arrived, they were unavailable to us as they were awaiting other parties who evidently had thought to make this request. Bolognese was terribly salty, almost inedibly so. Nobody finished theirs and did not take home the leftovers. Staff did not seem to notice this, perhaps bc they were preoccupied with the other issue, which was that there was a shard of glass in one of the pasta orders. Fwiw, staff responded appropriately and apologetically -- comped the dish and replaced it with another entree. But as my first experience of this restaurant, to have one dish so far off the mark plus the presence of foreign material in another just seemed like a lot. Still, I'd give it another shot purely on the basis of the service and the carbonara, and because the prices were less gougey than at many peer restaurants. read more

We found the restaurant a mono on Yelp and the reviews did not dissapoint. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with twinkly lights and dimmed lighting. The service was impeccable and our waiter Hunter went above and beyond with their service to ensure we and everyone around us was having an amazing experience. We enjoyed the Burrata, the pasta special, the ribeye, Cesar brussel sprouts and the olive oil cake. I would recommend everything we had as no crumb was left behind. Been here twice now. The first time I ordered the cacio e Pepe which was okay. I forgot which dessert I had but it was phenomenal. Second time I had the carbonara - I rarely order carbonara because my first time having it was in Italy, the authentic way and most places sell it as a creamy white sauce as opposed to the egg based lighter "sauce". But a Mano definitely stays true to the authentic recipe. It was pretty good. Slightly bland to be honest but I enjoyed it. We were accidentally served the fried eggplant Parmesan and that was PHENOMENAL. 10/10 recommend. To drink, we shared the $36 bottle of wine, pretty tasty! Tuesdays they have half off bottle of wines! For dessert, we had the pound cake with ice cream, that was PHENOMENAL! And to top it off, we ordered off the menu limoncello that is apparently homemade by one of the employees and omg it was such like "home" (lived in Italy for one year playing and now I'm pretentiously calling it home haha).
