Paul was amazing. I put out an SOS on Yelp, and got serve all responses at once. I was considering a different provider, and in an effort to be transparent told him that when he reached out to me in response to my quote request. Not only was he understanding, but was still willing to give me an estimate, that ended up saving me nearly $100! (Without knowing what the other quote was, by the way) He scheduled me into his day and within 3 hours, the work I needed was done! He even fixed something I thought was broken! I'm super happy I chose his company, and highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of quick, honest, reliable work!!! read more

I was so upset when my son locked his brothers door and we couldnt get in (not to mention how upset he was with his brother) his room. I called from place to place to locksmiths in murrieta. They all wanted a ton of money (between $60- $100) to unlock my sons door and/or would be a long time before getting here. I finally got Paul on the line from a"A Better Locksmith" He said he was running a special right now for those of us who are right here in Murrieta. He was fast (very fast) and only charged me $45!!! He was done in less that 15 minutes total and even made me 2 extra keys to boot!! I would highly recommend him and I will call him again if I ever need help with a lockout again. Thanks paul! read more

Easy to schedule. Paul was on time and took him less than 30 minutes to rekey 5 locks and one mail box. The price was exactly what he quoted over the phone, no hidden fees. The price included additional keys. He went the extra mile and showed me how to reset the door code. Highly recommend Paul!!! read more

On time, professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. Came to my home and rekeyed several locks, only took about 30 min.

Did a great job ordering my parts needed and installing replacement parts for our back patio door. It was a special order but he kept me up to speed on delivery times and came back out to install as soon as parts came in. read more

I needed all the locks on my new house rekeyed and then was informed that it is a homeowner responsibility to change the locks on the mailbox. I'm so thankful to The technician who gave me great advice of which I had no idea about changing locks on mailbox. He did seven locks in about thirty minutes...wow!!! Paul really knows his trade. From the initial contact and scheduling to the completion of the job, Paul was an absolute pleasure to do business with and we will definitely use his services again and happily refer him to anyone in need of a top notch locksmith. We've used Paul and A Better Locksmith for years. He's the best in the valley. Very accommodating, competitive pricing, shows up on time, and gets the work done in a timely. We most recently had them re-key all our new door hardware so It work off of the same key. Also had him install fancy digital locks at my office. Due to the nature of my work I've had to call on a few different locksmith in my time and Paul is by far the best. read more

Great response time. They deliver what they promise; no gimmicks, no fine print. The quality of work is excellent, and you can always depend on Paul. I'm also a locksmith, and when I first moved out here, Paul was so friendly and offered me so much priceless advice, and over the years he would answer any questions, and even though he's always busy working, if he couldn't answer, he'd make time to call me back. It's just his personality, he's one of those rare people who genuinely care. read more

Unfortunately, in my line of work evictions happen and I'm in need of a locksmith ever now and again. Luckily for me, one of our properties are in Riverside County and I have Paul to handle the situation in a professional and legal matter. Pauls responds time was within minutes of my request and he was efficient and quoted me according to a number of locks and mailbox needing to be rekeyed. His price was the going rate for any locksmith in the area and I loved the fact he uses QuickBooks for invoicing. I had an invoice sent to me via email within minutes for services which makes my life that much easier for accounting reasons. He was knowledgeable regarding the eviction process for the Riverside County Sheriffs which is always helpful since every County is different. Thank you, Paul read more

In general, Yelp doesn't lead me astray; unfortunately, it did this time. Looking for someone to complete a VERY simple job - rekey 3 Schlage cylinders to match a 4th Schlage cylinder. Called Paul, left a voicemail. Yelp quotes 1-hour response time in nearly every case. I guess I wasn't part of that percentage. 6 hours later, I get a call back, and am quoted $95 to rekey (including $50 service charge). Paul also, graciously, offers to waive the service charge if I meet him somewhere nearby his home, down to $45 for 3 cylinders; he says it would work better for him anyways. Not too bad. I ask him whether we can meet the next day before 9:00 AM, he tells me sure, to meet near his home location (about a 20-minute drive from my home). I tell him I'll call him when I get there, and we're off the phone. Mind you, he was also somewhere loud at the time, and seemed distracted, wanting to get off the phone as quickly as possible. Figured he was busy, chalked it up to that. Next AM, drove the 20 minutes, arrived about 30 minutes early to the general vicinity of where he requested, and sent him a text message (as he had also stated that he can be texted in his voicemail message) letting him know I had arrived. 20 minutes later (around 8:50 AM), he texts me and asks me if I can meet him around 9:30 AM. I tell him that I was already at the location that he requested to meet, and he tells me that the best he can do is 9:20 AM, because he just left for a job scheduled for 9:00 AM. Completely unprofessional. Look, I get it; if someone's being paid on a per-job basis, you don't want to deal with no-shows. But if someone drives to you (at your offer), and has such a quick job as rekeying a few cylinders, arrives early, and texts you upon arrival, don't make them wait for over an hour to get the job done. Customer service is important, and not only did it cost Paul a quick $45, it's blemished an otherwise spotless Yelp account. Ended up taking my business elsewhere (on my way out-of-town), and paid $18 for the same service, with excellent results. read more

Paul changed the locks and gave us additional keys same day we closed escrow. He was flexible as we didn't know what time we were going to have possession of the home. We gave him the time the day before and he was there for us. His work was thorough and thoughtful. Couldn't have asked for anything more! read more

Responsive, on time, great price, and great service. Don't think I need to say anymore

I called to have door hardware replaced and re-keyed and the service could not have been better. Paul arrived at the promised time and was finished within 30 minutes. Our sliding glass door lock was in need of replacement, sent a yelp quote request to which I received a response quickly. The locksmith requested a photo of the locking mechanism and from those photos the repair need was diagnosed and a complete quote was provided immediately. We scheduled the repair for the following day and the locksmith was communicative and texted me to advise he was 20 minutes away and even arrived early for the appointment! He completed the repair quickly and for the exact quoted price. Great price, great service, quality repair. Couldn't ask for much better! read more

Today was my first experience with A Better Locksmith and it is clear to me that Paul has earned every single five-star review on Yelp! Having lived in this area for 12+ years and having serious issues with numerous locks and keys for our home, Paul was able to get us organized in no time and for a very reasonable fee. First, Paul promptly replied to my inquiry for a quote about the job we needed done and included his availability. I booked him right away and he gave me a date/time he'd arrive. While on the way to our home, he sent a text to let me know approximately how much longer he would be and arrived TWO MINUTES EARLIER than the appointed time; so far so good. Second, Paul was polite and cordial on arrival. I explained what we wanted to accomplish by pointing to the various locks in question and he explained the most efficient and affordable plan of action. Third, Paul lubricated all of the locks in question with the proper dry lubricant after he saw that I was using a wet lubricant which only made our locks stick as that type of lubricant attracts dirt, dust, and grime. Now I know if I come across that issue in the future! Fourth, he efficiently completed the job, noted my Yelp coupon code and did a paperless invoice and payment for the services rendered. It was so cut-and-dry and I don't have to shove a stupid paper invoice in a bottom drawer, as a digital copy will always be available in my saved email. What many naysayers said online about rekeying locks was incorrect and Paul was kind enough to put many of those rumours to rest for me, which I really appreciated. I am happy to say that Paul is a true professional that I can trust. Definitely recommending him to others in our community and have no hesitation using him again in the future; thanks! read more

Paul was perfect. His service was phenomenal and solved my lock problem. In addition, he coordinated directly with my tenants, saving me a lot of time. He was great at communicating me with updates on the situation. He was by far the best locksmith that I've worked with as a landlord. Highly recommend! (This is Li Zhang - thanks again!) read more

Paul deserves more than five stars. He arrived very quickly after my call, and proceeded to try to pick the locks on an old piano. Unsuccessful, Paul had to drill out the locks and replace them. He had all the necessary parts in his truck, and successfully replaced locks for an unfamiliar application (a piano). He was careful and cleaned up after the job. I was impressed with his perseverance and skill. I would use Paul again, and recommend him highly. I used his Yelp deal coupon. If you need a locksmith, call Paul at A Better Locksmith. read more

Paul is great. I've used A Better Locksmith 4 or 5 times now. Every time is quick and professional. I've never compared his prices to anyone else because his fees seem very reasonable. Great service!! When we bought our home 2 years ago it did not include a key for the mailbox. Paul met me at the group of neighborhood mailboxes and set us up with a new lock and 3 keys for a very reasonable price. More recently I had the front door knob literally fall off. After trying unsucessfully to put it back together I called Paul and set up an appointment for the next day. After seeing the door hardware he told me that the hardware I had bought for him to put on wouldn't work for our door. He then did a wonderful of job of putting our broken entry door hardware back together and made it work better then it ever had. Since I loved the look of our original hardware I was very happy that he was able to repair it. What t I really appreciated about his service is that he called to let me know he was running about 20mins behind, and he was very clear and upfront about pricing, which is very reasonable. He actually saved me $$ as I can now return the entry door hardware that wasn't needed. Highly recommended! read more

While Paul is driving home to his family he deserves this review without delay!!!!! On a Sunday I locked my keys in my house as I went through the garage. An idiot mistake to be sure. After calling two dozen lock smiths I finally got a hold of Paul. He came to rescue my family and I as we were locked out. Paul came right after church and was so professional and courteous. He said it would be $79 to open my lock even on a Sunday. I gave him a $100 Bill for his fast response time and incredible service. Paul a sincere thank you from my family and I.
