This business is very unprofessional! The movers did not arrive on the days they were scheduled to arrive, nor did the owner contact me to let me know they would arrive. When the did arrive, as others stated, they were late. On the initial move date, a couple of hours had passed but I DIDN'T hear anything from the owner. I reach out to him to find out what was going on, he then told me that the movers were still moving another client and would not be able to move me that day. When the mover finally loaded my furniture on the truck, drove to my new location, they refused to unload the truck UNTIL I paid the fee in full; alrhough the job wasn't completed. I reminded the movers that I was working remotely and found the request quite an inconvenience. I had to STOP working, address something that should have been mentioned prior to moving day. Yes, they do hold your property hostage for full payment of a job that has not been completed. One of the movers called the owner to tell him about my response and I hear him say, "she's just a female who wants to complain I told the owner that his unprofessionalism, and nasty disposition towards his customers, created the situation. His snarky comment was, "I did you a favor by agreeing to move your property". I told him that he "DIDN'T" do any favors for me because I am paying for the poor quality service. The movers DIDN'T load up all of my furniture as promised by the owner, during his initial visit to provide an estimate for the move. Since they received payment, before unloading, they didn't return to move the rest of my furniture. . I paid 5K and did NOT receive professional or timely service. They tried charging and extra 1k and tried to hold my belongings hostage. They will lose your items and lie about it. They wrapped and taped things excessively like why wrap a can of ginger beer??? It was totally wasteful! Now days later, his workers did return some of my items, and put boxes in the right space, but they never delivered the custom made vanity they packed. Jay said they never saw the vanity and never packed it, but his workers remembered the vanity and even carefully packed the bulbs. This was the worse move ever, by far!! and I have completed multiple full service and cross country moves. I needed more than a man with a van but didn't want to spend a ton on full white glove movers. Called Jay, (found on Craigslist so no personal recommendation) told him I had a 10x10x10 storage locker filled with household worth of stuff to move into my newly renovated home. He quoted me $105/ hr for 17' truck & 2 guys. tie downs & hand-truck included of course. $50 optional insurance covered $7500 of goods James & Joe arrived promptly at the agreed time with a clean truck and got straight to work. They didn't pause for a minute even though it took 4 hours to load and when I brought them some drinks & food they still didn't stop. Both James & Joe were excellent communicators, between each other organizing the truck, and with my son, bf & me as we were 'helping'. There are myriad other positives about the move, like how my pristine freshly painted walls and still wet door frames were kept in perfect condition and how James was still smiling in 88° sun after 5 hours. I'd like to acknowledge how chill and flexible Jay was during my last minute booking. I committed by phone, he sent a deposit invoice by email, but I got cold feet after reading some unfavorable reviews here on yelp. I normally hang out on google, not here, so I hadn't seen them earlier. I called Jay back to express my hesitation and give him a chance to address and he was a total pro. Put my fears to rest & made good on all promises. For the record, I paid AFTER everything was unloaded. Dunno what those folks are talking about stuff being held hostage. Dealing with the owner John was one of the worse experiences in my life. Missed an appt and canceled at last minute than on rescheduled date his team was 3 hours late. His team refused to unload without payment but John was unreachable causing my team to wait for 2 hours. He didn't answer phone but had a random woman call me demanding payment. John was unreachable, rude and discourteous using his truck on holding inventory hostage but never sent a quote or invoice with payment options. Do Not Use This Company--- I hired them to move 9 pieces of furniture 5 miles from one home to another. Was quoted a price of $400.00. Sent $100.00 to confirm move. They showed up at 10 am, was supposed to come at 2 pm. When arrived at destination, they wanted $600.00 before they would unload truck. I called Jay, the owner, he agreed to accept $500.00 to unload truck. Wanted $500.00 cash or $530.00 via PayPal. In process of move, one of his men broke a marble top for an antique cabinet. Do not waste your time- Typical bait and switch- quote one price then it's suddenly hundreds of dollars more. The "CEO" Jay tried to tell me that the reason for the increase was that the distance between the two points was actually an hour longer than it is. When I pointed out to him that he was incorrect he continued to gaslight me - He then called me a devil, said he was filing a police report against me (for?) and threatened that he has all my information and would sue me if I left any negative reviews. I paid the $100 down payment but my item never was scheduled for a delivery AND I was never refunded the down payment. I first spoke with Jay on July 31. I told him what needed to be moved over the phone I explained I was moving from a 3bed room house to an apartment and he game me a quote of $150 down for the truck and $105 an hour with a 4 hour minimum. He never told me what needed to be done to prepare for the movers. He gave me a time between 10am -11am. I called him at 11am and he said he was gonna contact the drive and call me back, he never did I called him back a half hour later and he said within the hour. I called him back at 12pm and 1pm he texted my phone and said that they'll be there please be patient with praying hands emoji. So unprofessional I tried to be patient, I called him after 2pm and he ignored my call and then sent me another text saying he was on the phone with another customer and the movers will be here and that they are going to move me today. So 4 hours later at 3pm they said that their truck had run out of gas and the boss had to come to the gas station to help them out, they showed up, with a small moving truck, my husband said that all of our stuff wasn't going to fit. The Driver said he's a professional at packing and he'll make it fit. My husband told him he drives trucks and it was not gonna fit They took a few breaks while packing up the truck, this pissed us off even more. Mind you we had already took everything apart and had everything ready for them. So it would save time . They wouldn't take our TV because we needed to put them in a box. Understable but Jay could have given me a run down what they would not be able to take. So the drive tells us it's gonna be 2 trips and that they would be charging us $150 extra, and that Jay would give us a deal if we pay with cash or by cashapp, they wont pay taxes fraud to the irs,What company uses cashapp that was a redflag for us. At this time I was fuming I called Jay myself and i was very angry and snappy with him at this time I was over all the bull crap, I asked why did he send a small truck so he could charge more i didn't even more more than 2 miles down the road he was yelling back at me and said I was calling his place of business hostile, so I said you want to speak with my husband and he said yeah put him on like Jay runs the show we'll my son spoke to him instead because my husband was loosing his patienwith the driver. They bring my stuff to the new place and told me that I had to pay now asap before they would unpack my stuff. But they still had another load to do. So Jay wouldn't speak to me nor did he call me back as he said he would. He charged me the $150 and additional time. I ended up giving them a total $759.00 They never put anything together they just placed everything in the rooms. They should have given me a discount for being 4 hours late and having a small truck. I'm definitely reporting this company they tore my new sofas and didn't even acknowledge it. Jay ignored my calls so I could report it. I saved my quote and texts from him. This is the most horrible moving service I have ever used - 1 star is too much for them. 1. They showed up late for 7 hours 2. they increased the fee by lying about the fee schedule before you hiring them, and refusing to unload the truck and give your staff back unless you agree to their sharply increased fee. 3. they damage your staff and house - destroy my nightstand and badly scratched my door trim, and realwood stair railings. 4. They lie about their fault - the typical fraud moving company would do. What happened: I choose them among a handful of movers because they can accommodate my moving time 13:00-15:00 on Sunday and their quotation is reasonably good. ($150 for the 1st hour, and $80 for the rest) I have called several mover, describe the job, and all give me an estimation of 2 hours. One day before moving, I was asked to pay $50 deposit by a lady who has the number 203-507-6447, and I asked the lady over the phone whether the deposit would be applied to the total amount and I would only need to pay the rest of the total amount after the job is finished, and the lady said 'yes of course'. At 13:00 on the moving day, I called them and asked when they would be here - no one took the call. At 14:00, I called again, the lady took the call and said she doesn't know where the truck is, and asked me to call the truck driver directly, which I did. The truck driver said they hit the traffic and they would be 1.5 hour late. I used the google map and find no traffic congestion is shows up on any routes in the middle and north CT. However, I tried to be nice and said OK, be here asap. At 15:30, I called again, and they said they are 20 min away from me. At 16:00, I called again, they still said they are 20 min away. I called 16:30, 17:00, 18:00, and 18:30, each time they replied they will be here soon but never showed up. On 19:30, they finally showed up and start working. By that time, I have sat on a pile of box and luggage for 7 hours! They took a look of the room and said it is an easy job, and then start to move things. By that time, my dad has waited 7 hours with me too. We got so hungry as the kitchen is emptied and no cooking can be performed. So I rushed to the grocery downstairs to grab some bagel and ham. After I come back, I found they were disassembling my twin size bed and claimed it must be disassembled to be fitted into the elevator. - which is definitely not true - I bought the bed 5 years ago and it was carried up by the elevator in a whole piece. It was 8 and going to be dark , so I gave up on any argument and just let them finish the job - took them 20 minutes to do it. (and it took them 30 minutes to assemble it in the new house - that cost me an extra hour) When they arrived at the new house, they called the lady whom I talk to the day before. The lady talked to me over the phone and claimed it is 3-hour job and asked me to pay for the third hour. I told her that is because your guys spend most of the time doing needless disassembling, and they showed up late for 7 hours! 7 hours!. However, she insisted that it must be paid otherwise they would not unload the truck. It was 9:00 and I had to agree - otherwise I won't have a bed to sleep that night. So I said OK, you can put 3rd hour in, and remember to deduct the $50 dollars I paid as deposit yesterday. The lady, however, said that $50 is not counted in the total amount because it is a "service fee", and has nothing to do with the total cost for today's moving. I spent 20 minutes arguing with her, and she was very rude and insisted that she had never said the $50 deposit would be applied to the total amount. Finally, after 7 hours wait and so many painted jobs delayed by the waiting, I gave up and agreed to a pretty high price. (Also, the lady tried to make me pay $5 more by pretending doing the wrong math... ) Moreover, when they were moving things into the house, they were so careless that the door trim of my family room and the real wood stair rails were badly scratched. After they moved to all staff, I found one of my favorite nightstands was badly destroyed - the top was damaged and a big hole was formed on the top. I asked them why it was damaged - they claimed they already showed the problem to my dad and claimed my dad said OK to the damage (My dad does not speak English at all...)). However, my dad was still in the old apt and was not in the new house, so I cannot confirm with them. However, when later I showed my dad the damage and asked him if he has OKed the damage with the moving guy - he told me confidently he was never showed with the damage on the nightstand(though not speaking English, my dad was a very careful physicist doing optics research for his entire life, I definitely trust his memory and mind).. If there is 0 star, it would be more appropriate for their service than 1 star. read more

I contracted with ABE 3/2022 for a move date of 7/2/22 a $200 deposit down to secure my date Which was supposed to be taken off the bottom line figure at the end of the move. This was a a horrible horrible move for me! On 7/2/2022 I relocated to another state the movers showed up two hours late they pulled up in a 26 footer to move a two bedroom unit fully furnished I said to the head move-in guy everything is not going to fit oh he says yes it will, I looked at his help two young boys in their early 20s very unprofessional no strenth, they broke the leg on my glass table and of course at the end could not fit everything in after 4 1/2 hours past and said we will come back to tomorrow and pick up the rest I'm saying you can't do that I have a flight to catch in the morning Well just leave your keys he says we will just come in the am-and put everything in I didn't do that I'm like OK now the shenanigans begin. I called Jay the CEO of the company he becomes very rude and abrupt talking out of turn calling me Ghetto etc. The next morning comes i canceled my flight lost $100 rescheduled my flight for the next day another $120 I watched these same movers take shoe boxes out of my recycle bin to cover my glassware and mirrors and things of that nature & finish loading the 60 footer which he should've sent the first time. Two hours later they complete it loading the truck now mind you this is the next day they were also supposed to port my car to the new state after Jay made me wait all day not answering my calls he drops the porting of my car to the new state and said I would have to find someone to port my car myself and then I would have to pay him $2595.00 before his truck left Connecticut and I would not get my belongings until 7/5, mind u it was supposed to cost me $3200 for everything which included the porting of my car Jay charged me a xtra $800 for this move than originally quoted. I have 12 broken items tore completely up I'm missing a 30 gallon bin of purses very expensiv ones Louis Vuitton, coach, Prada, Michael Kors, dress pocketbooks you name it they were in there and totally lost four of my laundry baskets and I am very very upset about that When they finally arrived in the new state the movers sat boxes all over the place not where they were supposed to be after me placing labels on everything. I had a horrible experience with this company. I was told one price over the phone and charged additional fees that were not mentioned. The company charges $150 per trip which was told to me after making the first trip to drop off my stuff. Then when it was time to pay they would not unload my belongings until I paid them. I told them that the manager took my credit card information over the phone to just charge it to my card. Because the manager was in a meeting they could not take a credit card payment and demanded that I pay them through cash app. The only cash app option I had was Zelle which they didn't want to use. I had to call my relatives and see if anyone used cash app. The whole time they refused to unpack my belongings which caused additional fees. They were so unprofessional!!! Worst experience. Asked for a $106 deposit for a move from Hartford to New Haven. Kept bumping my move time from 8am to 11am then 2pm and then all in all cancelling at the last minute saying that they will move at 7am the next day with a refund. When explained that it cannot be delayed a while Jay hung up the phone and refused to answer any of my calls. Refused to admit his unprofessional mannerisms and said "business doesn't stop" I had to cancel with them and it has been more than a week and my refund has still not arrived. If I could give no stars, I would. I hired them on 11/26/2018 and paid a deposit of $40 via PayPal. They never appeared as promised for the move, so I had to get substitute movers and they never contacted to me to explain why they didn't appear until I filed a complaint with PayPal. Within a very short time, we had to cancel the move altogether. They refused to refund the money. I called numerous times over the 18 months and never got even a serious discussion. Now I am really moving so I contacted them to do some packing, thinking I could at least get credit for the $150. When I reminded the owner of the credit, all of a sudden I can't get a call back. AVOID THIS COMPANY! Too bad yelp doesn't offer zero stars. We scheduled a move weeks in advance. They did not show on the scheduled date, ignored calls and then called us later the afternoon to tell us they couldn't make it and we could cancel or take a new date. WHAT?! On the new date (next day - we were trapped at that point) they showed 2 hours late. When they arrived at the destination the owner ("Jay") demanded a price almost double what originally quoted, otherwise they would "padlock the truck and drive away with our things." Eventually managed to get the price close to what was originally quoted (watch out - the deposit is a 'truck reservation fee' that is not credited to the estimate/bill) but not until he verbally berated us and threatened to "come down" to our location to deal with us because we had the temerity to question the new inflated bill (yes, he really threatened that). We paid because he had our stuff, but the behavior was borderline criminal. My recommendation - do not hire this company. read more

I moved from Hartford to Philadelphia and needed it done in a single day and the owner, Jay, assured me he could handle the job. He sent two of his best laborers and I was very pleased with how they handled everything. I booked the movers about 2 weeks in advance and got quick confirmation. Jay called me the day before to make sure everything was in place and they even showed up early on the day of the move. They worked efficiently and expertly until everything was packed and ready to go. Once we arrived in Philadelphia they started moving in directly. They even helped me install an air conditioner. This company recently moved a man to an adult living facility in new york State. The company proceeded to hit and run my mother's vehicle they parked about a foot away from her car while they were offloading the man's belongings. The vehicle was completely totalled on the drivers side. The local police talked with the owner of this company and the owner never got back to the police with the proper paperwork. This company is clearly not responsible and are not trust worthy. If your driver couldn't have herd his truck completely totalling the driver side of someone's vehicle I think it's time to look for new drivers. With all this being said I do have proof of the damage I took many pictures. If the owner would have owned up to his employees mistake I wouldn't be writing this review.
