I am saddened to give this review. I have never given this low of a rating, but I have also never…read morebeen so disappointed. I had heard wonderful things about this little bistro, but I left severely disappointed. We ordered the Wagyu steak, the chicken dish and a Margarita Pizza. The Wagyu was on the spendy side at $52.00 for this type of establishment, but not outrageous. Sometimes I am hesitant to order a steak of it is too inexpensive. However, a good Wagyu ordered medium rare should not be served sauced and sliced and should not be cold to the touch. It was very rare and not cooked properly. I don't believe they have the correct equipment to cook a steak like this as it appeared to be cooked properly on the edges. Whoever sliced it should have known that Wagyu will be tough and chewy if not cooked properly. The pizza had the same issue. It was bland and served cold. We decided to bring it home and try and cook it later. If I had to guess, it was a frozen pizza just cooked and not fresh. Finally, the chicken never came. It turned out that they were out of chicken. With a limited menu, this was disappointing, so we switched to the $28 cheese tray. The cheese tray was ok. Clearly just three random cheeses without a lot of thought into how the flavors could be expanded and mixed with the sides. The service was very polite and professional, which was the only redeeming factor. The food was not cooked well. It was not expensive, but it was not cheap and the food felt cheap and poorly done. If you are going to charge higher end prices, you need to deliver a higher end experience. My thoughts when I left were that if I lived close, I might wait a couple months and try again, but I will not bee driving out of my way again to eat there. Again, this kills me as I really had looked forward to trying this small bistro.

The two stars isn't really fair, but the execution is so poor the food is overshadowed. We had the…read moreshrimp appetizer and it was good, not great. The ossobuco - figs from the freezer tossed on the polenta. The veal shank fell hard to lazy cooking. The mushroom pasta was a masterpiece. The desert really brought it all down to a crash. We ordered "sticky toffee pudding" and it was a cold, stale muffin with whip cream on top. It was such a lazy effort it was offensive. For $240 we had a dismal dinner that could have been excellent if they tried, gave a damn and stopped phoning it in. Until they give a damn you shouldn't either.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.

I genuinely don't know what parallel universe one of the last reviewers is coming from, but my…read moreexperience here has been the exact opposite. First of all, slow service? Every time I've been in, the staff has been warm, attentive, and somehow manages to make you feel like you matter without hovering. This place gives "the place you go where everybody knows your name," not "exclusive secret society," but okay. As for the food allegedly being "frozen junk"... I would LOVE to know what freezer is producing meals this fresh and this good because I'd like one installed in my kitchen immediately. I just found out they make their own cheese. Everything I've had has been thoughtful, flavorful, and clearly made by people who actually care. I have quite literally planned my day around my dinner tonight. Zero regrets. Also, moldy fruit? Stale buns? Be serious. If anything, I've had the opposite problem of trying to pace myself because everything tastes like it came out five minutes ago. What actually stands out about Remedy is the atmosphere. It feels like somewhere you want to linger. It's one of those rare spots that still feels human, not corporate, and that's probably why people keep coming back. Anyway, if this place is secretly a "private social club," then I guess I'm honored to have accidentally earned membership through the radical act of enjoying good food and kind service. 10/10. Will continue to return, bask, and eat my weight in food. Sorry to be snarky, but I have a real problem with people that nitpick and leave exaggerated reviews just to be that person. Your idea of a hangout must be dental office. This place is an absolute gem.

There was only one server upstairs, he was nice but a bit overwhelmed because he had to be running up and down, so he was managing 4-5 tables alone, so everything took a bit longer, but he was pleasent and we weren't missing anything. I was mostly underwhelmed by the food. I think, I just thought it would be better. The chili verde is one of the most expensive things on the menu and was kinda mid. Just really not much flavor, and the rice was overcooked by about a million. I really wished I had picked something else. We also had the wings and they were also kinda just ok. I guess I just expected it to be a bit better when you look at the menu. I had higher hopes for a nice place on Southhill, but the food and cocktails kind of let it down. Excellent location and nice servers and staff though doing the best they can.

Wiley's Bistro 421 W Main Ave, Ste 104 Spokane What We Ordered: * Love Bun must order every single time. Spicy heat, crunchy bread, cheesy goodness... my favorite. * Prawns are exactly what you'd expect. * Smoked Mozzarella Baguette savory, garlicky, dip-happy bread vibes. * Beet Salad is a full 10/10. Fresh, balanced, and memorable. * Wedge Salad is classic and satisfying. * Ravioli Entrée no portobello; subbed with cheese ravioli, and it worked beautifully. Creamy, peppery, parmesan goodness. * Braised Short Ribs fork-tender, rich, drenched in a delicious wine gravy. * Mud Pie coffee ice cream vibes with Aztec fudge, cookie crumble, chocolate, and whipped cream. Kid-friendly note: No official kids menu, but they're happy to whip up a grilled cheese, hamburger, or quesadilla if needed.

Service was fantastic! - Wiley's Old fashioned served in a bowl of ice makes this a drink to remember. I typically prefer Woodford, but this is made with Makers. I loved how cold this drink was and it was delicious! - Their dirty martini was equally delicious and ice cold. It was very dirty and blue cheese stuffed olives were a plus. - the love bun was to die for- definitely a treat l, filled with ooey gooey cheese and a solid spice from the jalapeño. - the ravioli was delicious- hearty, filling and flavorful, served with a generous portion of chicken on top. - prawn phad thai was a gamble and not your typical fast order noodle dish. This flavorful dish was beautifully presented with ample prawns. It was extra saucy and a on the sweet side, which I didn't expect for phad thai but was glad I tried . I'm not sure I'd call it phad thai and that's probably the disconnect. It's more of a veggie and prawn noodle dish with a small Asian flair, definitely not a glamorous name , haha! Dessert The crème brûlée is the dessert winner - the citrus flair was light and refreshing. The mud pie was just ok. Lots of ice cream on a cookie crust but not sure I'd call it mud pie.

Popular Brunch Spot offering Seasonal Mimosas and Flavorful fare. We went on a Friday around noon…read moreand didn't have to wait for a table. Started off with a Perfect Peach & Huckleberry Lemonade Mimosas that were divine! Everything on the menu sounded amazing so we ultimately decided on the chicken and biscuit with country gravy, the Honey Gochujang chicken sandwich with fries and the verde Hash with eggs on the side. The chicken and biscuit was a winner but be prepared for the food coma afterwards- worth every bite! Their fried chicken is perfectly seasoned and moist. I'm glad we shared the chicken sandwich because it would have been too much , too sweet, on its own. I was Expecting to get more heat but it was mostly sweet- could have used more of a tangy slaw and house dill pickles for texture and acidity. The title with Honey in it should have tipped me off. The Verde Hash was the best hash I've ever had and a generous portion. The use of roasted poblano peppers, red peppers, carnitas and potatoes was taken to next level with the feta cheese on top! Great flavor profile and big enough portion to share. I can't forget to mention the delightful server who patiently gave suggestions and went out of her way to make our first Bruncheonette Experience memorable. Tip- put extra time on your parking meter because you're going to need to take a walk after your meal.

Shared the Verde Hash and Vegetarian Breakfast Burrito (which we had as a bowl to make it gluten free). The hash was amazing, had such good flavors, and a generous portion of meat and the potato medley. The burrito flavors were pretty good, but wish it came with more tots since we didn't have the tortilla to go with it. It was definitely enough (maybe a little too much) for two people to share. Would absolutely have wanted to try more items! The host and waitress were both super friendly and our waitress was the perfect amount of checking in (at the right times), asking correct questions, and noticing our needs. She was so excellent!!
