A&M Rentals - The small one person I requested for my tour around the island. - Bike Rentals Near Me - Key West, Florida

This company is our go to place to rent bikes. My family and I frequent Key West and this was our usual go to place for rentals. This last visit in January of 2023, we rented two bikes for myself and my daughter for 2 days. On the day to be returned 01/27/2023, we return the bikes, chain them to the post and put the keys in the drop box as we have done in the past. We returned our bikes approximately 9:30pm, at the South street location. There was an older man sitting in a small hut in the store front driveway. He came over to assist. He was chaining my daughters bike up and my daughter said, should i put the key in the drop box? I said yes, but then the older man said no give me the key. My daughter stated, oh sorry I already put it in the drop box. He proceeded to throw the bike lock down and stated "do it yourself bitch." We finished locking up our bikes as he continued to yell profanity at us in english and spanish. I called the location the following day to inform them of the employee that is representing their company in a very distasteful, disrespectful way to customers. I was informed the manager would call to get a report of what occurred but no one has ever returned my call. My next visit to Key West will not be with this rental company. read more

I don't know how this place is legally able to run a business their mopeds are garbage. They don't work they break down. Please, whoever is reading this demand a helmet. My husband died from brain death due to an accident with one of their mopeds. At no point during the rental process, were we offered helmets. This is not something that other places we rented from before does. If you visit this place and they do not offer you a helmet simply go to another place. There are better places to rent mopeds from. This place is a joke. I hope they are reading this review and that they know that they destroyed my life. Fix your mopeds. You are killing people and it is not fair because you're destroying lives. I wish there was a zero star option to give. My husband turned 32 and did not get to enjoy his birthday instead he was flown to Miami due to a severe traumatic brain injury. Anyone reading this is going on vacation to enjoy and have a great time. If you don't wear a helmet, you might as well be signing your death certificate. If you need an electric golf cart to putter around town in, come here. Prices are less expensive than other joints around town and they come and pick you up in a shuttle bus. We booked a one day rental of a four-person electric golf cart and it was fun. Our first golf cart had mechanical issues and we were swapped out wIth a brand new electric golf cart which was a really smooth ride. Because we didn't have a accessible charging spot at our hotel, we stopped by before they closed at 7pm to pickup a freshly charged golf cart so we could ride all night. read more

This is a second location of theirs at the south end of Duval St. They were remodeling the building when we came to rent an electric golf cart. The prices are clearly posted, they are competitive with all the other rental companies, and the guy there was very helpful. Definitely rent one of these carts while you're here, it's the full Key West experience. We rode ours everywhere: up and down Duval St, out to the airport (for a seaplane trip), and even to the Publix for groceries (there is a huge storage container in the back). The cart was in good condition, easy to parallel park, cars were very respectful, and it was fun. read more

Dont trust this rental. multiple reasons. 1) Rentals are all way out of maintenance. had to swap twice to get a functional rental. 2) Will photocopy your license even though you don't need one to drive a bike, then after they said you get it returned when rental is returned, they will not give it back! wonder where my info is headed now. The owner was even disrespectful with me and said "if you give me your license again I'll make a copy and give that to you" quoted. I demanded it back and they refused to cooperate. Stay away! My husband rented us a golf cart for 2 days. At the end of the first day, my husband wanted to return it. We drove the cart back to the shop at the south end of the island, but they were already closed. So we left the goof cart parked in their lot, and put the keys inside the drop box. I called upon returning home, and was informed that they do not give any refunds under any circumstances. So we paid for a 2 day rental, and only used it for 8 hours. We had a great experience with A&M and would rent again while in town. We decided to rent on our last day to ride around Key West, while most places were sold out, they had many scooters to choose from. We rented a two person and it was only $52 for the day. When we returned we mentioned that we had to get the airport and they drove us our hotel to get our bags and took us to the airport free of charge (we tipped). They also mentioned that they do pick ups as well (just tip), renting is not required, this is an additional service that they offer. I would use them again just for this perk. read more

Please be mindful when renting from A&M. Check over every inch of your equipment and make sure they write it down. After using A&M for the the last 4 trips to Key West, they will no longer get my business. We are good honest people and if we break something we will pay for it. A&M took advantage of us and I just can't not say something. If I get through to even just one person I feel I have saved them from making a mistake. Again, make sure you look over whatever you rent from them and make notes of even the littlest scratch or they will charge you for something you did not do. Beware! They charged a family member $800 for a few scratches, and what they said was a bent front fender. They tried to charge me and we had been renting from them for 10 plus years. There was absolutely no damage to ours. Their attitude is awful! read more
