I set my expectations pretty low when it comes to any restaurant around the Garden. Why? Because they have a built-in customer base due to shows, events, and games at the Garden. So they don't have to try and actually put out decent food in a reasonable timeframe. A&B looks nice, with glass garage doors that can be opened in nice weather. When we arrived, it was 92 degrees outside and the A/C was on high. Unfortunately, someone decided to open one of the garage doors halfway, overwhelming the poor A/C, and making it very, very warm in the restaurant. I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to do this, but it demonstrates an amazing lack of understanding of the restaurant industry and the importance of maintaining climate control when it's really, really hot (or cold!) outside. You know you're going to get subpar service when even the waters take 10 minutes to get to your table after your seated. That would've been a great time, given that we've already been waiting 10 minutes, to take our drinks order. Nope, the waiter ran off and said he'd be "right back." That "right back" was about 20 minutes later! By that time, the table next to us, seated *after* us, had already put their orders in with the same waiter. Not keeping track of your tables is just poor service all around. Finally put our drinks and food order in at the same time and thought we'd get our drinks within 5-10 minutes. Nope. Not even close. It was about another 20 minutes later when he came back with our drinks order. No apology or acknowledgment at all about the slow service bordering on criminal. A man in the desert would find a drink at an oasis before you will get yours at this place. Maybe the food will make up for the atrocious service? Dream on. My salmon burger was dry and tasteless. The way they try and make up for lack of seasoning (or even a rudimentary understanding of cooking) is to throw red onions on everything. And a lot of them. Overuse of a red onions is always a red flag to me, because the taste obliterates every other flavor. So of course they also use red onions for their fried onion rings. Because the batter itself has zero flavor. All around our table of 6, the comments and feedback were the same. The food was serviceable (e.g., we'll eat it because we have no choice), but it was definitely nothing to come back for. The mac and cheese was bland and flavorless. The two grilled chicken sandwiches -- which were supposed to be exactly the same! -- came out as two different dishes. One was fried(!) and had no mayo/sauce on it, and the other was grilled with mayo/sauce (they both ordered them dry). About the only thing not horrible were the fries (but again, they weren't very well salted). Oddly, I had to ask for ketchup, which the waiter served to me in an old-fashioned glass ketchup bottle. There's a reason nobody uses these anymore at restaurants, because they don't work very well to actually get ketchup on the plate. I would avoid this place at all costs. There is nothing redeeming here. Like a street food vendor would've been a quicker, better-tasting meal. read more

Good service, food was so-so. Went on a busy Friday night before college hockey tournament at TD Garden. Had the egg rolls for an app. Two egg rolls cut in half. Stuffed with ground beef. Not much flavor. Also had the steak tips and burgers. Burgers were ok. Steak tips were supposed to be medium rare but came well done. Very small amount of mashed potatoes and they were a bit soupy. A&B Burgers, Boston, is located on the intersection of Beverly Street and Causeway. My co-workers and I went to A&B Burgers on a weekday for lunch and the restaurant was packed. This could have contributed to why the wait for everything was slow from being seated, to putting in our orders to getting our food, check, and to-gos. However, if you have time on your band and you're not in a rush, the food and atmosphere is phenomenal. It should be a surprise that the restaurant is known for their burgers. One of my coworker boasted that A&B Burgers has the second best burgers in Boston. I was skeptical unit I bit into my Hangover Burger. And of course you don't need a hangover to try their Hangover Burger though you may need a place to have a nap after. The Hangover burger is loaded with breakfasty kind of goodness. Beef patty, fried egg, bacon and cheese. Did I leave out any ingredients? As if that's not enough to knock one out during lunchtime. The beef patty was juicy and the egg yolk will ooze out of the soft brioche buns. Then there was the truffle fries. Some of the best I have had. I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. The freakin God awful NASTY : besides waiting 15 minutes for a waitress to greet us at our table after getting sat (2 hours before tip off) , the below conversation happened : Our party at our table speaking to each other while the waitress is overhearing - "should we do onion rings? Okay, lets do onion rings!" Us - "oh, okay, because the menu said "Haystack Onion Rings" Snarky manager - "YES BECAUSE THE ONION STRINGS MAKE A HAYSTACK!" Us - "oh , okay, yes , we definitely misread the menu" ----checked menu - ended up saying HAYSTACK ONION RINGS -------- My two year old baby cousin's left pinky toe has more professionalism in it than the manager does in his entire body. Still tipped waitress 20% because it wasnt really her fault. Instead of getting in your customers face and going on the defensive like a 16 year old in a playground - maybe try listening to your customers and going back and reading the menu before doubling down like you did which made you look like a booger. Restaurant industry is in a tough spot so hate writing these ones but you hate to see it when your treated like that as a customer, it starts your night off in a shitty manner. read more

Food and service is always fabulous! I have had the fried chicken sandwich as well as the sweet and salty burger both are amazing. The pretzel Rolls the fried chicken sandwich is soft goodness, the chicken is perfectly fried not dry. The sweet and salty burger is just that! And go for the sweet potato fries for a side! The staff is always personable, friendly n the ball and make great recommendations. Recently, my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab a casual dinner before the Celtics game during our trip to Boston. We aren't familiar with the area at all, so we decided to take the leap and eat at whatever place we could find on foot. There are several great restaurants around the entrance to the stadium and A&B looked like the vibe we were looking for. We didn't have to wait at all for a table despite the restaurant being busy. We started off with a couple of local beers that were on tap and enjoyed them in the cozy atmosphere. As our appetizer, we had the house-made potato chips with French onion dip. We were pretty hungry, so we ate the whole thing. I ordered the A Burger and subbed a turkey patty. My meal was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed his classic burger. My husband and I went In before a concert at the Garden . We made a reservation on Open Table. Was in , sat and had our drinks and app's ordered almost immediately. Sam , our server was excellent! The place is run very smoothly. I had the court side cocktail and my husband bravely ordered the boozy Oreo milkshake. Both were delicious! We started out with the homemade potato chips and onion dip appetizer. It was great! I ordered the blackened salmon BLT with sweet potato fries and my husband got the A burger with sea salt fries. We both enjoyed our meals . Place is really nice and decently priced for the area. Cocktails are a little pricey, but that's everywhere in Boston. The staff is great! My friend also ordered the same. my order came out and its on a roll, barely any lettuce or lobster at $25 for that matter. A&B has a prime location for sunset views of the bridge from the patio, great servers (Danny is so much fun), friendly management (thanks, Austin), and some of the best wagyu beef burgers, fries, and accompaniments around. Tonight we took advantage of the summer special and enjoyed a bottle of Artemis for half-price (this made it less expensive than from the grocer) w/ our burgers. What a treat! We finished off the bottle with a brownie sundae- delicious. Great beer selection, too, if that's your thing. Love this location for before a game. You need to make a reservation, but it works out well. Booked about a week ahead of time. Quick in and out. Ordered food and drinks right away. Server was friendly, made recommendations for us and also helped us navigate a gluten allergy. Food was served quickly and was your average pub food. We loved paying with Apple Pay because it allowed us to take care of the bill quickly without back and forth with the server.
