The lady who answered the phone informed me that yes they could be rekeyed and potentially could be made to match my original standard deadbolt key, depending on the brand. At no point did she indicate that if the electric lock was an off-brand it would be impossible to rekey them at all. She gave me a quote for the rekey service and indicated there would be a service charge for the trip. But again did not mention that if for some reason the technician was unable to perform the service we would be responsible for the service charge. When the technician arrived he looked at the keys and said it may not work because of the brand of electric lock. He was able to insert my standard key into the lock but said he would have to call his boss to ask if he could attempt to rekey the locks . The boss told him He could not rekey the locks because they were an off brand and then they informed me I would still be required to pay the service charge. I let them know that this possibility had not been communicated and asked if the fee could be waived. They said it could not, so I called the office after the tech left and they gave me the number of the boss. When I spoke with Ben (owner) he was condescending and rude, spoke over me and interrupted me and when I informed him that I would have to leave a negative review about their poor customer service, he accused me of extortion! It was quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my 23 years of home ownership.

Contacted the business and explained the problem. I went to the store to show the key. Their explanation was I was "abusing" the use of my keys. Abusing as in punching the either lock or unlock my car. ABUSE?!?!?! How about rectifying the situation by either fixing the problem or replacing the defective service?! At first they offered to replace the key by offering me a $50 discount. Or waiting until whenever they need to order whatever it takes for them to "fix" a defective item from them. I work nights and rely on my door to be unlocked by the time I get in the car. To accuse me, a customer, of "abusing" a remote key is totally passing off the problem on the customer! I just want to have this problem resolved and the owner rectify and take pride in their business to the community by resolving this defective key because I "abuse" the use of it. I called to get a quote on car key replacements but the call quality was poor so I had to ask the representative to repeat what he said once or twice. The receptionist was very impatient and questioned my ability to speak English as a language. For example, when I asked for clarification on a quote, he said "if you listened to me and could understand English, I wouldn't need to repeat what I just said." As a native English speaker, this was quite jarring... I was shocked by how rude the service was and will definitely not be giving them my business.
