When you're moving an RV all over the western United States, things are bound to happen. After an already arduous start to our trip, we had to pull into a rest stop near Gorman to get a few hours rest. When we woke up, our truck had a flat tire. Our RV insurance company, Good Sam, sent out A-1 towing. It took them about an hour to get to us because they are based in Lancaster. The driver was professional, friendly and quick. On top of that, as he was pulling the truck onto the flat bed, we found the obvious puncture that the tire had been resting on making it impossible to see and know why the seemingly perfectly good tire had gone flat. When we showed him the puncture, he offered to plug it, blow up the tire which would allow us to drive it to the tire place without having to pay for a tow to save us money. We opted for the tow 1) because the insurance was paying for it and 2) just in case there was something else (we still had 8 hours of driving left on the trip). This is our second time having to call tow trucks when we were hauling the RV and we have been blessed to find companies like A1. read more

The night after thanksgiving we had truck issues going up the grape vine while pulling our travel trailer, so we had needed to tow our travel trailer and truck. They sent out two tow trucks that towed us to the nearest rv spot. They took an hour to get to us and quickly got everything situated and they even helped us park in the rv spot for the night. I was on the side of the freeway but completely on the shoulder. I had a blown tire on the right side which was on the opposite side of traffic. I have a spare tire to put on. I have it jacked up and ready. I just didn't have the right size wrench. Driver said he didn't want to do it on the side of the road. Asked if I would drive to the next exit which of course would ruin the wheel. I said no so they left. I would not recommend this company and would search for a company with more experience, more knowledge, and better abilities. The 1st company that was assigned canceled b/c it was too far for them more than 150 miles. The 2nd company A-1 dispatched someone with an ETA of less than 30 minutes. They showed up on time. Found me no problem (as I had driven past - further the address of the poppy fields). He was well prepared and equipped. Fixed my flat by installing my spare in a very short time. On Monday 10/28/24 They picked up my car to take to the Kia dealership in Palmdalr and they delivered it to the wrong dealership. My car had a service appointment the next day and I couldn't find it. I had to search for it myself. Then when I finally got through to them they said that the driver will fix it and the car will be brought to Kia in 60 minutes.(at 12noon) The car was not brought to Kia until almost 4pm. Because of this my car was not looked at until Friday 11/1/24. The tow truck driver said it totally wasn't his fault but it was. We gave the correct address for kia palmdale and it was delivered to the wrong address. They are cocompletely at fault. read more

My car left me stranded coming up the grapevine near castaic on a rainy day . Used roadside assistance through my insurance company and they dispatched out A1 towing . Despite the rainy night and traffic moving slow , the driver LEO got to my location at at a decent time . Leo escorted me from my car to inside the tow truck and continued to do his thing . We were an hour away from my house and the ride back into Bakersfield was smooth . Leo has such great character , we talked and he's a real cool dude . This company was hired on by Good Sam insurance to tow my parents RV that broke down on our way home from camping, the initial wait time told us just over 4 hours so we waited and apparently the front desk woman didn't get along with whoever she spoke to and failed to reach out to me or let good Sam know that they weren't going to be helping us after all. So after an hour of being on hold or the call going straight to voicemail I found all this out. So my parents ended up sleeping on the side of the road because after waiting all that time it was not possible to find someone that could tow. Thanks a lot. I was involved in an accident and A-1 Heavy Duty Towing was dispatched. The driver that picked up my car on Saturday assured me that my car would be delivered first thing in the Morning on Monday then it was promised for 1:30 PM but was not dropped off until 4:00 PM. It seemed to me that this company was more concerned with adding another day of storage fees than living up to their promise. This took at least 23 phone calls to the insurance company, body shop and the tow company to finally get it delivered. If you have a choice do not use A-1 Heavy Duty Towing. read more

I was left waiting for 4 hours And then forced to pay up front $934.00 before my vehicle was even loaded on the truck. Then the driver took a different route which was was less miles than what I was charged for. On top of that, the driver was all over the road crossing the double yellow line at least 100 times, driving off the road into the dirt a few dozen times and even ran a red light. It was a 2.5hr back from Alabama hills and my Subarus left wheel passengers side stopped moving, and we were stuck in a precarious hot place with a quarter tank of gas, my wife and my two dogs, needless to say they made it quickly and in the specified timeframe they initially quoted me. Chris saved the day on the worst traffic day of the year. I left the keys in my car and he was able to safely get my Tesla to the service center 30 miles away on Labor Day around midnight . Got to these folks thru AARP / Allstate roadside assistance My ev with range extender had decided to stop extending range in Tehachapi. My son and I waited two hours for a tow truck AARP said would be there in 40 minutes. It was worth the wait when Chris Pennington showed up and knew more about my car than I did. He hooked us up and got us to U-Haul so I could haul it home. On the way, he explained it would be a pain to get this on a tow dolly, which was all U-Haul had to offer when I first called. Got to the U-Haul at Elisa's Variety and they had reserved an auto trailer at ASAP Towing nearby. They told me, "Don't worry, Chris will take care of you!,". Now that's good to hear 300 miles from home! Chris then proceeded to work with ASAP Towing to get my car from his truck to their truck to my auto trailer. Drivers obviously cant drive. Don't care about anyone else's safety on the road. Weirdo driver with a red ford truck on the back turns the corner in front of moving traffic. If I wasnt watching paying attention to him me and my family would be dead. Low budget company and the drivers prove it. I wouldnt trust someone who cant follow the simple traffic laws of the road. Yesterday while driving to Lancaster from Los Angeles, my transmission started to over heat. I was in the city of Action on the shoulder of the 14 N freeway when I pulled over. I contacted On Star to tow to my destination which was 20 miles away. When I finally got a towing company dispatched it was A-1 Heavy Duty Towing. I was towed to my destination without any more worry other than how I was going to get towed home back to LA. A few hours later I called AAA so that I could get towed home. After about 45 minutes I get a towing company dispatched to me but they called to ask me if they could hold my vehicle until the morning and they would tow it then. To that I replied HELL NAW!!! Why would I want you to hold my vehicle when I'm trying to get us home...I called AAA back immediately and asked for another company because they were out of they're mind. Another 20 minutes go by and guess who I get again?!?! (Insert Kool-Aid smile here) Yup, you guessed it, A-1 HD!!! Not only did they respond in a timely manner, but the dispatchers were so kind and kept in contact with me to insure I was in the loop as far as my waiting time.
