When you're moving an RV all over the western United States, things are bound to happen. After an already arduous start to our trip, we had to pull into a rest stop near Gorman to get a few hours rest. When we woke up, our truck had a flat tire. Our RV insurance company, Good Sam, sent out A-1 towing. It took them about an hour to get to us because they are based in Lancaster. The driver was professional, friendly and quick. On top of that, as he was pulling the truck onto the flat bed, we found the obvious puncture that the tire had been resting on making it impossible to see and know why the seemingly perfectly good tire had gone flat. When we showed him the puncture, he offered to plug it, blow up the tire which would allow us to drive it to the tire place without having to pay for a tow to save us money. We opted for the tow 1) because the insurance was paying for it and 2) just in case there was something else (we still had 8 hours of driving left on the trip). This is our second time having to call tow trucks when we were hauling the RV and we have been blessed to find companies like A1. read more

The night after thanksgiving we had truck issues going up the grape vine while pulling our travel trailer, so we had needed to tow our travel trailer and truck. They sent out two tow trucks that towed us to the nearest rv spot. They took an hour to get to us and quickly got everything situated and they even helped us park in the rv spot for the night. They were professional and very helpful! read more

I was on the side of the freeway but completely on the shoulder. I had a blown tire on the right side which was on the opposite side of traffic. I have a spare tire to put on. I have it jacked up and ready. I just didn't have the right size wrench. Driver said he didn't want to do it on the side of the road. Asked if I would drive to the next exit which of course would ruin the wheel. I said no so they left. I would not recommend this company and would search for a company with more experience, more knowledge, and better abilities. I wouldn't consider this company capable of changing a paper towel. read more

During a day trip to the Antelope Poppy Fields I ran over a huge nail. Thank God my Mazda comes with free roadside assistance. The 1st company that was assigned canceled b/c it was too far for them more than 150 miles. The 2nd company A-1 dispatched someone with an ETA of less than 30 minutes. They showed up on time. Found me no problem (as I had driven past - further the address of the poppy fields). He was well prepared and equipped. Fixed my flat by installing my spare in a very short time. He was professional, fast and very kind. Thank goodness he was working during this pandemic and esp on a Wed afternoon. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! read more

On Monday 10/28/24 They picked up my car to take to the Kia dealership in Palmdalr and they delivered it to the wrong dealership. My car had a service appointment the next day and I couldn't find it. I had to search for it myself. Then when I finally got through to them they said that the driver will fix it and the car will be brought to Kia in 60 minutes.(at 12noon) The car was not brought to Kia until almost 4pm. Because of this my car was not looked at until Friday 11/1/24. The tow truck driver said it totally wasn't his fault but it was. We gave the correct address for kia palmdale and it was delivered to the wrong address. They are cocompletely at fault. read more

I was involved in an accident and A-1 Heavy Duty Towing was dispatched. The driver that picked up my car on Saturday assured me that my car would be delivered first thing in the Morning on Monday then it was promised for 1:30 PM but was not dropped off until 4:00 PM. It seemed to me that this company was more concerned with adding another day of storage fees than living up to their promise. This took at least 23 phone calls to the insurance company, body shop and the tow company to finally get it delivered. If you have a choice do not use A-1 Heavy Duty Towing. read more

This company was hired on by Good Sam insurance to tow my parents RV that broke down on our way home from camping, the initial wait time told us just over 4 hours so we waited and apparently the front desk woman didn't get along with whoever she spoke to and failed to reach out to me or let good Sam know that they weren't going to be helping us after all. So after an hour of being on hold or the call going straight to voicemail I found all this out. So my parents ended up sleeping on the side of the road because after waiting all that time it was not possible to find someone that could tow. Thanks a lot. Not to mention the woman at the front desk called me back to back 4 times to ask information about the RV's size and where it needed to be towed to, talk about incompetent. read more

At approximately 7pm I was notified by A1 Heavy Duty Towing that it will be 1 1/2 hours for a tire exchange. It is now 9pm and I received again another update for another 54. Which I'm able to see that the driver still hasn't left Lancaster. This company is unreliable and does not know how to manage their services and operate correctly. read more

I was left waiting for 4 hours And then forced to pay up front $934.00 before my vehicle was even loaded on the truck. Then the driver took a different route which was was less miles than what I was charged for. On top of that, the driver was all over the road crossing the double yellow line at least 100 times, driving off the road into the dirt a few dozen times and even ran a red light. If I hadn't been in such a bad location, I would have had him just stop and drop me off. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! read more

My new Mercedes broke down on I-5. My insurance company dispatched A-1 towing. Insurance company quoted me 2 hours. Mauricio the tow driver showed up in 20 min. My car was being towed 10 minutes later. He was fast, efficient, and super helpful! Thanks so much Mauricio!!! read more

Overall great experience, Matt was very helpful and courteous. It was pleasant talking to him especially since he's a veteran so we had an amusing conversation about our military experiences as he was loading and prepping up my car. Thank you A-1 read more

Great service by Mauricio. Communication by staff and eta was on point. As long as you provide reliable coordinates you'll be fine. It was a 2.5hr back from Alabama hills and my Subarus left wheel passengers side stopped moving, and we were stuck in a precarious hot place with a quarter tank of gas, my wife and my two dogs, needless to say they made it quickly and in the specified timeframe they initially quoted me. Both of my malinois fit into the back of the truck along with my wife comfortably. Safe driver and knowledgeable. Thank you. read more

Lied about response time, multiple times, then after 3rd time calling them for a status over 3 hours, and being told their driver was "finishing up a previous call"...gave an "unknown eta". Sat in the freezing cold for over 4hrs. If they are the company assigned via USAA or any other roadside, request someone else. read more

My car's battery decided to stop working in a scorching mid-afternoon here in SCV. Contacted my car insurance and they immediately sent A 1 towing company to come to the rescue. Their guy, Marvin was personable and gave great service despite short notice. Communication, reliability, and efficiency were what stood out to me. The minute to minute tracking sent to my cellphone was very useful. Highly recommend this co. Thank you once again. read more

Chris saved the day on the worst traffic day of the year. I left the keys in my car and he was able to safely get my Tesla to the service center 30 miles away on Labor Day around midnight . He even went out of his way to make sure he found someone to receive my car without me being there. Chris and a-1 towing are the best and we need more people like Chris I can't tell you how grateful I am to him. And he was supposed to be off and picked up and extra job. Got to these folks thru AARP / Allstate roadside assistance My ev with range extender had decided to stop extending range in Tehachapi. My son and I waited two hours for a tow truck AARP said would be there in 40 minutes. It was worth the wait when Chris Pennington showed up and knew more about my car than I did. He hooked us up and got us to U-Haul so I could haul it home. On the way, he explained it would be a pain to get this on a tow dolly, which was all U-Haul had to offer when I first called. Got to the U-Haul at Elisa's Variety and they had reserved an auto trailer at ASAP Towing nearby. They told me, "Don't worry, Chris will take care of you!,". Now that's good to hear 300 miles from home! Chris then proceeded to work with ASAP Towing to get my car from his truck to their truck to my auto trailer. It was amazing attention to detail and customer service with some ingenuity added in. Words cannot express how grateful I am he showed up. Thanks, Chris! read more

Tow truck operator Thomas G did an awesome job! He showed up at 3:45 AM, loaded the car, and safely delivered me home to Ridgecrest (108 miles) about 6:30 AM. The tow was contracted through AGERO. They took the long-distant job when other tow operators wouldn't. I'd recommend them any day...and any time! read more

Drivers obviously cant drive. Don't care about anyone else's safety on the road. Weirdo driver with a red ford truck on the back turns the corner in front of moving traffic. If I wasnt watching paying attention to him me and my family would be dead. Low budget company and the drivers prove it. I wouldnt trust someone who cant follow the simple traffic laws of the road. Obviously you should be more careful when you have a heavy slow vehicle. But the driver looked like he didnt even care. He had a kid in the car his self ..smh . Kill yourself and your own family, not mine. read more

These guys went above and beyond helping me out and I wanted to make sure I gave them a review. Another towing company THROUGH MY AAA service was trying to gouge me on recovering my vehicle. They made sure I was safe and I really do appreciate the service they provided. read more

Got them using Hondacare roadside assist. Nice dispatcher, quick to arrive and Leo the driver was great. Thank you.

Shoutout to Marvin and A1 towing! I had a nasty tire blowout on the grapevine alone on a Friday evening. The phone receptionist Norelle (I believe that's her name) would always answer my calls and questions since the app for my insurance wasn't clear on arrival time. Marvin and the rest of the a1 team were prompt, supportive and took amazing care of towing my car back to Los Angeles. He did a fantastic job getting my car back inside the garage, and pleasant conversation on the drive back! I would highly recommend Marvin and A1 Towing again. read more

Our car broke down in the middle of the Grapevine and we were desperate to get home as the weather was over 100 degrees and we were not sure that an uber or Lyft would be able to make it. I had to wait a little longer than usual due to snow and bad weather. But when tow truck driver, Chris, showed up on the scene I could tell I was in good hands. Chris was professional, super friendly, and very helpful. This was my first car accident, so I was a little panicked. But he was very reassuring and patient with me. If you are in need of an excellent "Get-it-done" tow truck driver, Chris is the one you should call. Thank you, Chris for your wonderful service! :) read more

Our trailer had a blow out on Sunday afternoon driving home. I called a few places as we only needed a jack. The wait for anyone was 2+ hours. A1 was available but wanted to charge me $595 to come and LET US USE their jack. Nothing else was needed. I said no thank you, and a kind person stopped and helped us for nothing. As we drove off, we saw the A1 tow truck about 1 mi up the road ...sitting & waiting. What scum to try and take advantage of a family traveling thru with kids trying to get home. The other kind tow yards I spoke to even called me back to ensure we were safe and ok. I was sure to share that A1 wanted $595 for the same service they were willing to offer my for $50-$75. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! My insurance sent a tow for my vehicle and this crooked company showed up and refused to tow my vehicle where the insurance had sent them to tow it being that it was late in the evening. They took my vehicle to their tow yard and held it hostage for 5 days before calling me saying I need to pay over $700 in storage fees why tf do I need to pay storage fees when y'all decided upon yourselves to not take my vehicle where you were instructed to go?! Stay away from this company by any means they will just end up stealing your car and forcing money out of you!! read more

Yesterday while driving to Lancaster from Los Angeles, my transmission started to over heat. I was in the city of Action on the shoulder of the 14 N freeway when I pulled over. I contacted On Star to tow to my destination which was 20 miles away. When I finally got a towing company dispatched it was A-1 Heavy Duty Towing. I was towed to my destination without any more worry other than how I was going to get towed home back to LA. A few hours later I called AAA so that I could get towed home. After about 45 minutes I get a towing company dispatched to me but they called to ask me if they could hold my vehicle until the morning and they would tow it then. To that I replied HELL NAW!!! Why would I want you to hold my vehicle when I'm trying to get us home...I called AAA back immediately and asked for another company because they were out of they're mind. Another 20 minutes go by and guess who I get again?!?! (Insert Kool-Aid smile here) Yup, you guessed it, A-1 HD!!! Not only did they respond in a timely manner, but the dispatchers were so kind and kept in contact with me to insure I was in the loop as far as my waiting time. I am forever grateful and beyond pleased with this company. Whenever possible I will ABSOLUTELY ask for your company by name because you guys handled me with care. I can't say thank you enough but I hope this review helps with your future endeavors. I can't remember everyone's name but who ever dispatcherd Jose on 10-30 at about 1:45pm thank you.
