I had a good experience with A-1 Self Storage on Monterey Rd. The process was straightforward, and everything went smoothly. When it was time to check out and close out my storage unit, the lady at the front desk was especially helpful, friendly, and nice to work with. She made the checkout process quick and easy, which I really appreciated. Overall, a positive experience and I would recommend this location if you're looking for storage in the San Jose area. read more

Maria A. Thank you very cheap and affordable. Highly recommended Good customer service.

Beware of A-1 Self Storage! Customer service is poor as they will promise you a reasonable rate for a storage unit which will quickly increase nearly 50%. When I questioned A-1 regarding the huge increase in a matter of weeks of moving in, I was told that A-1 has the right to increase rates as they are "month-to-month." There are plenty of other storage places nearby for far cheaper and with much better customer service. read more

The customer service was terrible. Very rude lady at the front desk said customers me down we have space. Then didn't have the right space.

Esmeralda is very patient. She took me to see the storage room, and I plan to rent this place.

Excellent customer service! Esmeralda was great helped us get the best deal, easy & fast service!

Storage needs can be difficult, this is why I choose a safe and secure location. Sebastian showed me the grounds and explained the hours of operation and made me feel at home. Corina the manager Alvin and Esmeralda were friendly and courteous each time I was in the premises. This location features carts, tidy premises, and a clean restroom. read more

Just wanted to give a big thank you to Joanna for the great customer service I received! I was in the process of looking for a storage unit after moving and she was super friendly, patient and helpful with all of the questions that I had as a first time renter. This place is 90 degree inside ( 3rd floor) during summer and it smells like a rat home. Suggest pay a bit more for climate control storage.

A-1 Self Storage - Yes fist storage!! - Self Storage Near Me - San Jose, California

First I will say the service was top notch. That is good but it does not come close to making up for the price increases. My RENT got regularly jacked up each year due to simple greed it appears, because their explanation does not hold water. EG My rent went from $160 to $173 in the first 6 months: That's an annual increase of 16%! And over several years it averaged to 6%!, or say roughly $10 every month. Here is why greed (ie now you're moved in so they can jack up your price and your only choice is to move out, so you have no practical recourse) appears to be the only explanation. Say a COST (eg insurance or maintenance) got legitimately increased by 5%. And say that their maintenance cost for example on your unit is $8/month. That amounts to a justifiable increase of $8 X 5% = 40cents/month. Instead the increase is $10, or 25 times! the justifiable increase. Is that not abusive? read more

Joanna and Joselin greeted me upon arrival. Having been with a competitor for so long I was shocked to see such positive attitude! Both were very helpful and I highly recommend A1 for your self storage needs! read more

A-1 Self Storage - Front office, facility is well kept and maintained! - Self Storage Near Me - San Jose, California

I was going through a really difficult move, reflecting back I gotta say that my experience at A1 Storage was the only thing that was an easy positive experience. Shot out to Patricia who assisted me, keeping it professional and swift while displaying compassion for me and my situation. She knew the business and helped me effectively. Ty for being so pleasant and kind. I will also add the pricing is cheap here. Competitors are charging twice as much. Thanks Al Storage and staff read more

It turned out that I only needed their services for a mere few weeks, but the folks here are really nice! Adam and Maggie are awesome. :) Their location is a slightly older one, but is kept very clean. Getting a unit was an easy process along with a good promo. Discontinuing was just as easy (my new place had room for my things in storage). I highly recommend A-1 Storage regardless of how long you'll be needing them. read more

Big thank you Ximena for her great customer service skills! You had a great attitude and a great sense of humor! I appreciate you taking the time to show us the units available to fit our needs. Joanne you've trained your staff well! I'll be recommending your facilities! Thank you!! read more

I walked in needing a unit, the manager there was very nice and the assistant manager was very helpful. They not only made me feel welcome but encouraged me to check out different sizes based on my needs. I was expecting a common interaction but the 2 associates who helped me made my experience very pleasant. Ive rented storage units multiple times at the public storages near by and haven't always had the best experiences, I decided to try a-1 and it was a great decision! I highly recommend this store. read more

My daughter was making a move to San Jose from Southern California. She gave me the names of 3 storage facilities to check out. I went to the first one and the door was locked with no one in sight. I went to the second and the woman tried to sell me any number of units, all different sizes with all different locations within the general area. Her mantra seemed to be "Better sign up because you don't know if it will be taken soon." Both stops were for other than A-1 owned facilities. The 3rd stop was a charm with the absolute best guy in the world (Adam) behind the desk. He is professional and thorough and didn't display any neediness for my immediate reservation. He deserves a BIG raise for his perfect ways of explaining things and getting things done. What GREAT employee you have in Adam. read more

So I moved plenty of times these past few years. and Moving isn't the greatest thing to do. So when I had to find a storage unit to pack all of my belongings I was kinda fearful because of past bad experiences with Public Storage. But I am Super Happy with A1 Storage. The people there are great and very helpful. The units are Nice and Easy to get to. I would recommend this location to any one who needs a good sport to store their belongings. What impresses me the most is that the management actually remember who I am and say hi every time I am there. And if I happen to forget to pay my bill on time they take the time to give me a friendly call and remind me. Totally not like a bill connector. Love this place and the people that work there. So My stuff will still be there for a very Longggggggg time. read more

I came here in a huff looking for a small box to ship a tablet and wouldn't you know they only had big ones. Well, lucky for me Adam and Giovanna were there and they didnt let me leave empty handed. I was walking out the door and low and behold they found a box PERFECT for what I needed to ship. I don't have a storage here, but if I ever need one I'd definitely entrust my belongings here. I would also recommend A-1 storage to friends and family. More companies could benefit from employees like Adam and Giovanna. Kudos A-1 storage on such helpful, friendly, customer oriented employees. read more

We were in desperation with a truck load of furniture. We went to a recommended facility and it was the worst ever. I had my movers[Speedee Movers] there waiting and the owner of Speedee Movers made a call to A-1 Storage and set up a unit for us. Three trucks going thru San Jose to A-1. We were welcomed by the great people at A-1 and they had a nice unit all set. You want to talk about relief of tensions. The movers packed our furniture nicely in the unit ,put the lock on the door. We had sold our house and was in Reno Nv. picking up our new RV Coach and I forgot to pay the 1st months rent. I got a call from A-1 reminding me so I took care of it. They are very helpful. Wonderful experience, after a bad story starting out. Thank you A-1 and staff. read more
