I called to schedule a pumping and inspection for my septic for my house that was being sold. The lady I spoke to scheduled us for both services for the second week of January. She even sent a text confirming the type of appointment and date. Fast forward, I called the day prior to our appointment to find out the time they would arrive and she somehow said she was under the impression we didn't need a pumping. I told her that is not the case and that I told her what was needed when we scheduled the appointment. Instead of her apologizing for her error, she proceeded to tell me what the buyers of my house want. Stating they don't need to be there for the pumping just the inspection. This is not the case. Working in real estate, I don't need real estate advice from a scheduling lady at a septic company. She tried to say they will schedule the inspection and pumping on different days. I told her that doesn't work as we are closing on the house very soon. We chose to go with a different company mostly because of her response and no apology for her scheduling error. Even when I called back to cancel the appointment, she continued to try to be combative about her error. Everyone makes mistakes and a simple apology and possibly moving appointments around to accommodate us would have gone a long way. Attached is the confirmation text she sent.

After they got it to a point that I was able to use water they diagnosed the pump failure and pulled the pump. They then verified it out to double check it was not a control or float issue, pumps are expensive and they ensured it was indeed the issue before replacing it. Once that was completed they isolated the failed float and replaced it to ensure if there is an issue in the future it will alarm and prevent the backup. 100% will use them again and refer them to anyone looking. They are an honest and fair family-owned buisness, exactly who i would want tobsupport!

Because of the way that this other company acted I just had him pump the tank and not inspect. They failed my system. I called Always Excavating they came out very professional on time looked at my system found a plug that have been unplugged... No idea how it got unplugged... He was easy to talk to, gave us a very reasonable price (second cheapest out of all the companies we called), and right away pointed out that our lids weren't the standard 24-inch -- they were 30-inch, which not everyone works with. Stan referred us to Above Grade Septic to help find the right lids, and when I spoke with Candace there, she had nothing but great things to say about him. That kind of praise from someone in the same industry really sealed the deal for us. We ordered the lids online, and as soon as they arrived, Stan came out the very next morning. He pumped the tank (which hadn't been serviced in over 10 years), cut down both risers so they sat flush with the ground, and installed the new lids. My aunt was really happy with how everything turned out -- and she's not someone who's easily impressed. Stan showed up when he said he would, did exactly what he promised, and got it done efficiently and cleanly. If you're looking for someone who's fair, reliable, and knows what they're doing, I'd definitely recommend Stan at A1 Septic.

This was the first time we've pumped the septic since moving to this home. What we expected to be a normal septic pump turned out to be much more involved because of the distance to the tank and the fact that the tank was at a much lower elevation than the road/truck. Mike determined for safety reasons that a second technician would be needed so we rescheduled. Mike remained in constant contact with me as well as his office. Dustan seems to be the only local septic professional who thoroughly knows what systems are needed where and how each of them functions, especially the new, sensitive, bio-barrier system on my property. On his first visit, he caught and fixed at least three mistakes (that caused problems) made by the installer and were missed by the County Inspector and other septic specialists. When additional professionals are needed to fix problems (i.e., hauling soil, pumping tanks) he provides references to companies that are just as trustworthy as his. When he has questions, he contacts the manufacturer directly and gets the information he needs, immediately. He sits on regulatory boards that create the septic rules and there he advocates on behalf of homeowners, as well as the environment. His wife, Candace, is also knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend their company for any septic system you use!!!

Now I am at the same place as before they arrived with needing more work done. The main purpose of the work was to locate the service ports. If this wasn't able to be completed, then no other work should have been done until this could be finished. No call to verify next steps, nothing. This is not how to run a business. The owner mentions that the quote was for a set amount of time. This is not true. It specifically states $600 for 3 hours of work, then has an hourly rate after that. It makes no sense to do the inspection without finding the service ports. Now I am in the same position as I was before they came out, but down $1200
