We are selling our 38-year-old home in Bothell, and as part of the sale, Snohomish County requires a septic system inspection. Our system had always functioned well, and we'd had AWESCO pump the tank every 2-3 years. This time, a few updates were needed to bring it up to current code: a new pump, new seals and lids for the risers, and a replacement distribution box. Two technicians spent over four hours completing the work, and they were outstanding--thorough, professional, and patient in answering all my questions as well as those of the prospective buyer who also observed the process. When I needed documentation for the sale, Colton in the office was equally helpful. He quickly provided the digital paperwork needed to finalize the septic contingency, which kept the closing process on track. I've used AWESCO for years and have always been impressed with their service. This experience reinforced my confidence in them. I wouldn't do business with a company that adds fuel charges to the bill without telling you in advance. Most people, like me, wouldn't know if the price A Wesco charged was appropriate or not. I signed the work order for nearly $6,000.00. When the two guys showed up to do the work, it took less than 3 hours, with one guy sitting in the truck for a half hour, to complete the whole job. There was no way the materials cost more than $500.00. I called to get a reduction in the price because I was certainly taken for a ride. I was told; you signed the contract. Yep, I did. I don't want the next guy to get taken like I did. There are reputable septic companies out there, but this is NOT one of them. No wonder they get crappy reviews, they earned them. And did I mention that they left the mess for me to clean, and the job looks like Helen Keller did the work? No offense to blind people. Sorry. read more

Watch out for this company. They sent a post card offering $50 off so I called to schedule service. Turns out in tiny (literally unreadable) print it said the coupon was only good for uncovered lids. Ok, no problem. The guy was a jerk about it but I booked anyway. When they showed up there were additional fees for digging, filter cleaning, and paying with a credit card. I got pretty upset so the foreman waived some (not all) of the secret fees. The crew that showed up was courteous and did the job but it was not enough to get the bad taste out of my mouth. read more

Not trustworthy! I had to replace a UV lamp in my septic system 3 times over the last couple of years, and they've charged me over $700 each time for the lamp (not including labor)! When I asked about the price of the lamp, they tell me it's a very specialized part and gave me some story about how there's only one guy that makes them since COVID, etc. etc. It turns out you can buy these lamps for $35 online. The guys who came out to pump the septic, were nice. Before they even looked at my septic, they told me it was bad. (They got that information from another septic company. That company told me 6 years before that my septic will last me another 20 years...septic companies lie). Anyways, the guys that came out, said that they might be able to repair it. The office will call me on Monday. Today is Wednesday, I check my email and there are three emails from this company. One was the bill (that I already paid). The next two were telling me that they were not sure if my drainfield is not taking water efficiently. Evaluation needed to determine possible repairs. I call the office to really understand if I paid this $650.00 if that will be the fix that the guys were talking about. The lady at the office said No. I asked her if I could get a price of the "fix" because I did not want to pay $650 to be told it can cost over $20,000. I would have just wasted $650. So, then she transferred me to someone else. That new lady said no they could not give me a ballpark figure because..... she talked and I did not understand her. She quoted me what the last company said about my septic (which I read before). After we talked a little more, I said that I will book the appt for this evaluation. She came back and told me that she is not going to book this appt because she knows my drainfield is failing (remember, they wanted to charge me $650 to tell me that and she did it without looking at it. Sigh.... Not sure how a lady in the office can tell me my drainfield is failing by looking at a paper. Not sure why they even wanted to charge me $650 to tell me when the lady in the office, who must know everything about septic's, can tell me for free. This company charged me full price. I had a coupon and I took the dirt off the top. They way the guy who set up my appt made it sound is that he would charge me full price. Then $50 if I removed the dirt. And then the coupon would have given me $50 off again. So, I should have been not charged the full price. Don't waste your money on this company. The lady at the office knows more than the guys who are doing the work....If only you could hear my tone about this lady. She was a tool. read more

Scheduling was easy, and within the timeframe I needed. Wesco staff were professional and pleasant. Their rates are comparable to other companies I called. However, it took me 2 phone calls to find out where the invoice and inspection report were. Called a few days after the service and got one answer. Called back a week after the service and was told they were waiting on me (and would have waited up to 30 days) before they could file their report since the inspection revealed a deficiency. Really sucks getting different information from different staff. read more

Jeff and Blake came to pump our septic tank. The cover was grown over by shrubs, berry bushes and the like in a dense forest area. They cleared the area, pumped our tank and rinsed the filter. I had Jesse #1 come out and pump our septic. I had several quotes and A Westco was the most reasonable. I have used them 2x before. Reviewed his professional findings with me. Gave me an estimate for additional services necessary to make the system run smoother. I called the office and they were friendly and receptive. I asked if I could schedule the repairs and I was booked for the NEXT DAY! Jesse #2 and Rick showed up on time. Communicated upon arrival. Confirmed what Jesse #1 suggested and went to work. It was pouring rain and they were working with a smile! Their repiar took the time quoted. The clean up done and even though it was a muddy day, the septic area looked the best it could under its conditions. 100% top notch dudes . I've used them for a couple years now . We have a septic processing system and only select companies have the certs to work on them . A Wesco is one . After their initial inspection we were told about many deficiencies, our system was not installed correctly. Our alarm wasn't even wired in . Update: A Wesco reached out to me right away to apologize for their employee's action regarding the $379 service call fee, and they refunded that fee to us. Last week our septic pump stopped working. We were surprised by this since A Wesco had replaced our septic pump and the wiring just 3.5 years ago. They were able to get a tech out the day after we called them to come investigate and at that time they said if any work had to be done, they would waive the $379 service call fee. The septic pump was dead, which was caused by a rock clogging the pipe to our D-box. Our pump tank had 8 inches of sludge and rocks which surely led to the rock getting stuck in the pipe. The septic inspection report before we had the pump replaced originally said there was only 1 inch of sludge in the pump tank, so the 7 additional inches of sludge and rocks must have entered when they replaced the pump 3.5 years ago. They did not advise that we get the pump tank pumped at that time (actually this is the first time anyone from the company has recommended having that done - I guess you are supposed to have the pump tank pumped every other pump). Also, the tech who replaced our pump originally was very unprofessional - we could hear him arguing with what sounded like his girlfriend/wife on the phone throughout the day and he kept complaining about how much work it was and that the estimate we received was way too low. He was cranky and it seems like that followed through to the work that was done which has now led to more issues and more money on our end. Additionally, they had trouble finding our D-box and then discovered our pipe from the 1st chamber to the pump tank was crushed and not letting liquid through. Due to the additional time/work, they said they were not going to waive the $379 service call fee after all. We were very upset by this - we ended up paying them $5K in addition to the $3K we paid them 3.5 years ago and they couldn't waive $379 as promised. Not happy with their service. Way, way too expensive. 2 years ago they sent a guy out who was amazing. He popped a couple boards off of my back deck, found the septic tank, pumped it and replaced the boards before I knew he'd started working, literally done in like 15 minutes. He then charged me about $300. Fast forward 2 years. These guys just left my house after charging me $600. They couldn't find the septic tank, had to go show them where it was even though I had described it's location correctly. I had requested the service with a $50 coupon that they had sent me. The guy told me that he would not have given me the discount because they had to pop the boards off and put them back on, but because I was a repeat customer they would waive it, as if that made any difference after them raking us over the coals. Compared to 2 years ago this was just worse service for double the cost. I mentioned the cost discrepancy compared to the previous visit to the lead guy and he just said, "Yeah, it's bad." I won't use these guys again. I feel completely screwed over. read more

It was Monday morning and I needed my septic pumped asap. I said yes to the first person that could pump my tank, which was A Wesco. They charged me 1200 dollars for 2000 gallons which was very expensive. I checked around later that day, after I had already paid them and found out I was taken to the cleaners. They also offered to provide a quote on a d box replacement and never responded. They probably figured after i checked around I would not be using them again as they are not honest. I would highly recommend you avoid using A Wesco Septic. Their prices were significantly higher than two other vendors I use (Hills Septic. & SOS Septic). They added all sorts of fees like digging (even though the lid has been removed 6 months ago) and fuel charges. And then they charge a credit card/debit card fee (even though for debit cards there is almost no fee for them, so they are really just trying to stick it to you.) Then when they give me the bill they say I need to pay it on the day i get it or I get a $50 late fee, even though it has the wrong name on it, and when asked to get a new bill, my name is misspelled. And then they said they fixed it, but never actually send it to me. So instead of $500 from other vendor it was $873 plus a headache. Their estimate for fixing the pump was also over $2100 vs. others that were less than $1500 (all of the above was just for pumping). They also never got authorization to do any work from me before they did it. Then when they give me the bill they say I need to pay it on the day i get it or I get a $50 late fee, even though it has the wrong name on it, and when asked to get a new bill, my name is misspelled. Not a big deal, but just a lot of hassle. Would absolutely not recommend to others. You can get better cheaper more friendly service from other vendors. read more

After having used Awesco in the past for septic needs, I'm utterly shocked at what happened this time around. I called asking for a septic pump quote for my home that they had serviced before. I was quoted $540, with a $20 charge, equaling out to $560. They scheduled me a few days out. Boy was I surprised when my card was charged $677.71. Idk about you, but if you quote someone, you don't add on additional charges to snake the customer out of money. You be upfront about your pricing so that your company isn't looked at it a negative way. After calling Bob at the office and asking what happened, he became hostile and tried justifying his fees that they never mentioned in the quote, such as a $15 fuel surcharge fee, a 2% credit card fee that was never mentioned, a filter cleaning fee of $35. Had I know of these fees, I would have easily of picked another provider. After explaining that I called for a quote and that they have serviced my home in the past without having a bunch of added fees, and then Bob replying with "I'm the cheapest in the valley"( NEWSBREAK! HE'S NOT! Try SKY VALLEY PUMPER FOR $580 and not a bunch of extra fees.) he finally relented and said he would credit back the fees. NARRATOR: HE DIDNT! So not only do they lie about quotes and then overcharge me after the service is done, Bob then lies about crediting me back. REAL CLASSY BOB! After having these guys service my home for years, I'll warn everyone now they are absolutely going to scam you the moment they get a chance. A bunch of lying, greed and deception. Do not use these people. They are dishonest. I would give them a negative star if I could. They quoted me $379 plus tax = $408. for an intake and center baffle replacement. So, I make an appointment for them to come out the following week. Then the morning of the appointment they called from house the septic tank is at and ask for a credit card payment. They then tell me it is $379 for a service call and $379. for the work. Twice as much as quoted. I should have told them to leave at that point. But I later emailed Wesco to give them a chance to make this right but never heard anything back except for a charge of $820. to my CC Twice the amount I was Quoted. I was also supposed to get a receipt E-mailed after the work was done. I received nothing. At this point I am not even sure that they did the work. Do not use this company. They are overpriced and incompetent. We had an alarm, they charged us $1074 to change 2 floats. A week later, back in alarm, and they managed to render the hand pump function inoperable as well. Now trying to get them back out to fix our system for real, have no idea if we actually need floats replaced. My own diag was showing that the control box dose timer was not working (I set to 1 min off, 1 min on as a test, pump did not come on as it should). So yesterday we had a plumber come out and look at a clogged toilet. He told us it wasn't a clogged toilet, and that SURPRISE, we were on septic and not the city's sewer line. When I called Joe at A Wesco, he was confused because he could see our property history and that we didn't have septic, and were definitely on sewer. He told me he'd call a few people and get back to me. Meanwhile, I called 6 different companies trying to get answers with what on earth was happening in our back yard After 20 minutes, Joe called me back, right away saying that they could fit me in the next day. He told me he was pretty sure we had a grinder pump, and asked me to text pictures of what our setup is so they could assess. He gave me a price estimate, and told me 'it'll all be over by 2 tomorrow!' Honestly, we didn't necessarily believe Joe, but hey, Luke came, pumped our tank, replaced our grinder pump to sewer, and by 1:58 was driving away. I'm so relieved to have it all taken care of! Luke was super friendly and helpful, and gave recommendations without being rude or pushy, which is a rare art in sales these days! Hired Wesco to drain our septic tank. They completed the work and charged us $675. A week later our septic alarm started sounding daily. We called Wesco, and they offered a service call at the cost of $379. In 3 years, we have never had the septic alarm go off, but they refuse to admit that they could have potentially done something to trigger the alarm during their work just one week previous. We were leaving town, so felt like we absolutely had to get it inspected. Wesco inspected and said that the "sensor bands" had come off and were triggering the alarm, but would not admit that it had anything to do with the previous week's appointment. Used A Wesco for a Pump & OSS to complete a real estate sale. First off, they were an hour late to the scheduled appointment that they set. Secondly, business must of been slow for them because they documented a deficiency and repair for the tune of $6K. The Seller would of been required to make the repair in order to sell their home. Never will we use AWesco again. They told us we were in prefailure and would need to spend around $50k for a new mound system. They also said rain water would never affect mound systems (red flag, it does!)They pumped our tanks in (Feb) and we had an inspection by another company for a 2nd opinion (april) Not only were we NOT in prefailure, it showed that in February, they only put their hoses at the surface and pumped out only water, leaving all sludge and effluent so our tanks and mounds would keep flooding. We had another inspection just now (june) and confirmed we we NOT in failure and the February pumping was useless. And EXPENSIVE. FYI if you have a mound system, make sure whoever works on it is trained for it. They are VERY different than standard systems read more
