Towering Chocolate Cake

Stopped by for dinner. The waitress was nice, I ordered the country fried chicken, which I hadn't had in years. I was disappointed. The chicken/gravy & fries were piping hot. I'd asked for mashed potatoes, not corn, so the waitress had to go back for it. The mashed wasn't very good & wasn't very hot. The menu described the cake as "towering" & that it would be served warm. It was neither.

This is the poor excuse for the wings and skins platter What a joke! The place has gone to hell

This is a skins and tender platter I honestly thought it was a joke! Disgraceful First time back there in a few years Never again

Never had a bad experience at the 99 to date. Always good food and service. For a chain it is to be expected. Definitely worth the visit.

Reliable chain food. Nice atmosphere. Service seemed disorganized and kind of confused.

Our Mother's Day late lunch at Tandy's Pub & Grille was unforgettable and I am so grateful we wandered in. The chicken & lemongrass dumplings were genuinely one of the best appetizers I have ever had in my life - perfectly balanced, deeply flavorful, comforting and bright all at once. Every bite felt intentional. The rest of the meal was equally flawless. My Chicken Caprese sandwich and my husband's Club sandwich were excellent, but the dumpling appetizer just stole the show for me. My mouth waters writing this and remembering! We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful spring Sunday, listening to the nearby fountain and the happy sounds of families celebrating together. It was the kind of atmosphere that reminds you how special simple moments can be when everything comes together just right. What truly elevated the experience from excellent to exceptional was the service. Greg (and another gentleman whose name I did not catch) made us feel genuinely cared for and welcomed from start to finish - warm, attentive, welcoming, and effortlessly professional without ever feeling intrusive. Hospitality like that is rare. Perfect food. Perfect atmosphere. Perfect service. I'm already looking forward to our next visit where I will immediately order those incredible dumplings again!

There weren't a lot of people there when we arrived around 8 - We thought at one point we would stay for the DJ and some dancing - We had a very nice server, Sabbian - friendly, funny, and had good customer service skills! Made the time even more enjoyable. She had the BLT and I had a Steak Bomb sandwich - they were both really good. Tried the Sam Adams Blonde Ale and we both liked that - As it got closer to 9, we realized, not that we are OLD, but we aren't stay up till 10 for dancing people, evidently....and decided to call it a night. Would go back again for lunch or maybe dinner ....but think the 10 o'clock dancing ship...might have sailed for us lol

If you Google define a neighborhood dive bar, you will see a picture of the Thirsty Whale…read more This is the kind of place where locals and visitors mingle freely. On a dank spring (typical) early New England spring afternoon, we wandered in for a pre-dinner cocktail. The drinks are solid and reasonably priced. They do have a few high-end spirits and a few surprise special cocktails. There is also a good selection of local beers. We stopped by for a nightcap and were surprised that on a Wednesday night, they were packed and rocking to a live band. If you appreciate a good dive bar with personality, strong drinks, and a local crowd, this place is worth checking out.

We arrived on a cold damp afternoon and quickly joined a few regulars at the bar. Conversations were started and the cocktails flowed. They do have some great local craft beers and a full bar with a few high end liquors like Eagle Rare and Grey Goose. My desert dry Goose martini with a twist was perfect. Plus 1 said her Paloma was perfect as well. We could have spent the entire afternoon here hangin with the regulars and getting toasty but alas we had dinner reservations. We did stop by after dinner for a nightcap and the Whale was rocking to a live band and they were packed on a Wednesday night no less. Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar" song could have easily been written for the Whale!
