The new friendly toast in Concord is a wonderful new location on a tried and true restaurant experience. The atmosphere is eclectic, with fun and unexpected decor. The servers are bright and happy and helpful, the food is delicious. The jumbo cheddar tots are so incredibly crave worthy. We both ordered extra spicy bloody Mary's, Hubby had the sklarmageddon omelette and I had the Monte Madame, which is a croque madame on a French toasted croissant. Oh my gosh, everything was so good, and we had serious leftovers. Unlike other locations, we didn't have much of a wait on this particular day, but I would imagine it fills up pretty quickly, so add yourself to the waitlist if you can.

It's a pretty busy spot. Our wait was 30 minutes for breakfast. The chicken and waffles was my favorite especially since it came with a tiny bottle of syrup. Their breakfast eggrolls are really good and the churro bites are so sugary. Great place for brunch and there's options for everyone

We had a great experience at the new location for Friendly Toast. The fall flight drink selection was such a cool presentation. The decor is a lot like the other locations, fun and whimsical. While tempting to sit on the outdoor patio, we picked a booth inside as it was warm out. Food was excellent, tater kegs were not what I had pictured but tasted delicious. The pancakes and French toast were great While not inexpensive we felt the food was worth the prices charged.

It's right in town so parking is a little tricky. We went during late breakfast, but they serve brunch all day long. The place was packed on a Monday, but we didn't have that long of a wait. It has nostalgia from the 70's. Our waitress was very cordial and accommodating. They have a full assortment of breakfast items with a twist. They also have mixed drinks (and sampler platters) that we indulged in. Really enjoyed it.

    Hash cups! No changes. Perfection.

Wow!! Service was beyond accommodating ( Michaela C) and the brunch was crazy! Adult coffee flights and hash brown cups a must! Can't wait to go back!

I've gone here twice now - once at lunch on a business day with no wait and once for a late breakfast on a holiday Monday where the restaurant was busy and there was a short wait. Both experiences were excellent. We had prompt service from the waitstaff on both occasions - just as prompt when it was busy as when it was less so. Drinks and food came out quickly both times and was delicious. My daughter had Churro Bites as a meal and her eyes rolled back in her head with the first bite. The decor is fun and you'd probably be able to find something you didn't notice before no matter how many times you go. Also really appreciate the easy online waitlist option. Bonus: my daughter left a book in the booth and they texted us to let us know we left it behind. So happy to have a location in Concord now!

Decor 10/10. Lots of choices on the menu, very nice. Service was great for the amount of people in the restaurant. Server (Amaya) was awesome. Would recommend

Typical breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, etc) are very well done here - beyond that it is hit or miss

If you don't leave with some leftovers, you obviously have a bigger stomach than most! With the addition of alcohol to the menu, it makes, at least my experience, more enjoyable. The only downfall, at least in this trip, is that an 8 piece Buffalo Wing App is $14. That's nearly $2/wing. While cooked well, not something I'd do again. The music is always good, and they keep the tables moving. This is by far the better of the numerous locations!

After a long day of driving, my fiancée and I stopped at Red Arrow Diner in Concord hoping to…read morerefuel with some classic diner food. I walked in hungry enough that I probably would have considered eating the table if it had been seasoned properly. The first impression was great. The staff was friendly, and Victoria, our waitress, was fantastic. She was attentive, checked on us regularly, and somehow managed to be helpful without doing the aggressive "HEY, IT'S THEIR FIRST TIME HERE, EVERYBODY CLAP!" routine that happened with another customer. A+ on the service side. Unfortunately, my meal and my fiancée's meal appeared to have attended two completely different restaurants. She ordered the steak tips and fries and absolutely loved them. No complaints. She was happy, I was happy for her, and the steak tips apparently understood the assignment. I ordered the big breakfast platter: eggs, toast, pan fries, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. After seeing the sign proudly advertising Red Arrow as one of the "Top 10 Diners in the Country," my expectations were set somewhere between "pretty good diner breakfast" and "life-changing plate of breakfast greatness." Instead, my breakfast arrived looking like it had already experienced a rough day before I did. The bacon and sausage were cold. The pancakes were somehow both wet and defeated before I even touched them with syrup or butter. The toast managed to achieve the impossible combination of being soggy and dry at the same time. The pan fries were the one thing that showed up ready to work, and the eggs were acceptable enough to join the team. For a $16.99 breakfast platter, I managed to eat maybe 30% of it. The rest was left behind as a tribute to the breakfast gods. I also tried the brownie frappe, which was basically a fancy milkshake wearing a diner disguise. It was actually really good, but unfortunately a good milkshake cannot single-handedly rescue a breakfast that missed the mark. The frustrating part is that I actually wanted to love this place. The staff clearly cared, and I hate leaving a negative review when the person taking care of us did everything right. The problem wasn't the service--it was the food. My final verdict: the steak tips seem to be where it's at. Maybe Red Arrow is secretly a lunch/dinner champion wearing a breakfast marketing hat. The atmosphere and staff were great, but my breakfast experience was nowhere near what I expected from a place advertising itself as one of the best diners in the country. Would I try it again? Maybe. Would I order that breakfast platter again? My stomach has already filed a formal complaint.

Wonderful little lunch stop!…read more It was full of locals and regulars and on a wait for lunch. At that moment I knew I had picked a good spot! We chilled with the folks up front for a good bit before getting a table. It seemed we were the only people that had not been here 30-40 times before. Most people didn't even want menus and the sweet server ladies just brought them food without conversation at all. It's kind of old school feeling inside. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. Inside is all wooden and rustic. It reminds me of my grandmas house in Camden TN. Not sure why. It's just really comfortable in here to me. The tile and fireplaces make super cozy. This place has some of the best chili that I have had in a long time. I dig the fact they give tortilla shops automatically with the chili. Win!! Thick and meaty and oh so filled with spice and love!! Cheese on top was a nice touch too. Really liked it! My French dip was fucking killer!! So damn big too! I could only eat half of it because of the the fire ass chili I had already eaten. French fries were battered type. Nothing wrong with that!! I drove around with this sandwich for two days of travel and ate it on the road later. Stupendous French dip!! C had an open faced roast beef sandwich. FIRE!! The green beans were so pretty and fresh too. She could barely get 1/3 down, lol. It was a ton of food. Economical! Hometown feel! Good people working and eating here! I love it!! I'm not even sure I could find the place again. I sure am glad I did the first time! '26 -39

The two others had the scallops and were very impressed. One of our party has a tomato allergy and they were careful not to have it on the dish. Then came dessert time. I called ahead to make sure they had carrot cake because i had read great reviews on it. It certainly lived up to those reviews. One of our guests was too full for dessert, but managed to get a spoonful of both of ours. My friend had the Boston Crean tart, and we all declared this a winner also. They were very accommodating as I had booked for four and had to call them before we came in person's plane was delayed. When I asked, because of the reviews I had read, if they would have carrot cake that evening, and the gentleman said as long as I'm here we will always have carrot cake. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious, well prepared and well presented meal that is as fresh as can be. The service is wonderful and we will be back.
