The people at this salon are fantastic. They are very accommodating and welcoming. I brought my granddaughter for a manicure and pedicure for her 16th birthday. They give ten percent off for high school students and their prices are very reasonable. The man who greets the clients at the front desk is the sweetest man. Natalie and Ben have a really great nail salon here in Orion. The team here is very consistent, makes great recommendations and does an excellent job on my shellac pedicures. I am always able to get in quickly and rarely have to wait. They take pride in their salon too as they've done two great makeovers in the years I've been coming. The latest design is so fresh and pretty! They usually have the tv on the travel channel or have some peaceful music playing. The massage chairs are all so nice too. Disappointing. Went in for pedicures with my two girls (11/13). Total was $113 . They barely scrubbed my feet. 30 second leg massage, if that. And asked for patriotic nails, showed several pics and ended up with this. My daughter could have done a better job at painting! I will not return. BUT it depends on which staff member you happen to get. My experience has been that two of the males here are fantastic. However, I've had less than stellar experiences too. The pros are that it is clean and well-organized. Usually if you have an appointment it doesn't take a long time either. Today's pedi earned a solid four. My 10 year daughter went in for a polish change, but they said they had to charge her for a $14 manicure because they were no longer doing polish changes (even though i was told on the phone that they do) Further, most places charge less for a kids manicure. We would have walked right out, but this place was our only option for the day and her birthday treat. The woman was rude and rough- with a kid!! My experience at this salon was not good. I went in for a pedi and fill-in. I was greeted warmly by a gentleman. That was positive as I always like to be greeted when entering a business. However, the the pedicure was disappointing. First I had to say hello 3 times before she returned the greeting and after asking her what her name was a couple of times and getting no response, I gave up. She didn't shave the dead skin off my heels and when I asked her why she said I didn't need it. I definitely did. The rest of the pedicure was hurried and the polish chipped the following day. The fill looked pretty the day of but my fingernails also chipped two days later because the polish was so thin. The techs are not chatty and I've been treated rudely on a couple occasions but out of the years I've been going here (under past ownership and new ownership) I've liked it. I've been going there for about 3 years now. Hannah is the only one who is kind to me. I am a 21 year old women and I don't like confrontation. Today I went in and got my nails done. Hannah did a very great job. I have no issues with her. It was the other women who has short hair and is very tiny. When I was paying she started yelling at me in front of other customers because she didn't know how to work her new card machine. I was patient and asked if I could pay half with a gift card and the rest with debit. She charged the gift card 45.00 and the new balance I had to pay was 21.58 so I gave her my debit. She then asked me to pay again 45.00 I said no I already paid abs showed her my bank statement. She said this is a new machine I don't know if I took the money out. I said it's right here and showed her again. I asked for the receipt and she wouldn't show me and said I have to pay the 45.00 and call the gift card company to make sure it took it out. I said it did because the total came out and I owed 21.58 and I paid. She started yelling at me and I started to cry because I didn't do anything wrong and I was overwhelmed by her yelling at me and I didn't want to pay twice. I will never go back here. No talking, the staff speaks among themselves in their language. Rude if you ask me. Ignore customers and speak in a language customers dont understand. Are they talking about me? They dont take tips on credit card!! You must have cash. Today I forgot cash cuz I dont go often, I asked if I could write a check for tip, annoyed the lady said. We have ATM next door. Ok. Bub bye never again. I am the customer your salon should cater to me. Not me to you! - also while the person was finishing up my nails. The manager was urging him to hurry up, more than once. Stopped in for a polish manicure yesterday after work. From color pick out to dry it took about 25min, and the best part is that it looks amazing! The new owners are very professional, courteous and meticulous - who could ask for more in a nail salon! The ambiance and lighting in the salon are far better than I've seen from other salons in the area. The soft colors and warm lighting are comforting, relaxing and cozy which is great because getting my nails done gives me time to relax. So happy to have a great new nail salon near my house. (Schlack, stiletto and 2 or 3 different colors) not very hard or complicated. Tell me why she was shaping my nails without even putting the actual gel stuff on it. My experience here was pretty nice. The atmosphere here is beautiful for a nail salon! It was very clean and nicely decorated. My manicurist was Snow (spelling?)!and she was nice and did a pretty good job on my hand painted French, acrylic, shellac manicure. I was pleased that when I called, they said they would make time for me to walk in. Horrible customer service, rude, and obviously does not stand by their work. I had a dip manicure on Wednesday and one of my nails chipped by Saturday morning. I went back right away to have that one nail that was chipped repaired and was told by the rude female worker that since it was a Saturday they would not fix my one nail because "other people were coming in". When I asked when they would have a time available they said they weren't sure and to come later. I asked if I could make an appointment for later and they said they don't take appointments. How do they not take appointments but know "other people are coming"? I called later that day to see if it was a good time to come in and they, again, rudely told me no. I asked when it would be a good time that day and the same rude female said "how am I supposed to know, it is a Saturday". I reminded her that they are the ones that originally did my nails three days before and it had already chipped. She still was rude and told me since it was a Saturday they could not accommodate me because "others were coming". I decided to try another salon in Lake Orion and they happily welcomed me and took care of my nail in less than 10 minutes. They were shocked the salon that originally did my nails would have been so dismissive and rude. This place is clean-ish (they did bleach pedicure tubs but stations aren't very clean) and staff is quick and friendly. My only real compliant is with my shellac manicure. I've had countless shellac applications with no issues. They always last 2 weeks until I get it taken off. The shellac manicure I got here started peeling after 1 day! One week later most of my nails are peeling, very disappointed. I feel as if the right base coat wasn't used or something. I will not be going back for this particular service. read more

I went to LA and had my nails done over there and I absolutely loved them and I was looking to for a place here, where I could find the same quality. I had glitter (actual glitter not just glitter nail polish) on my nails and I know that trend isn't out here yet but I was hoping that maybe I could find a place that did it the same. So I tried this nail salon because of all the great reviews. This place is great, I would give it 5 stars but I they didn't have what I was looking for but other than that I had a great experience. This nail salon is really nice. It's clean and it feel homey. I was great as soon as I walked in and I didn't have to wait at all since I went early. I believe my nail tech was Tina. She was kinda quite but that really doesn't bother me. She was quick to help me and tried to her to do the best she could to give me what I was looking for. She did a great job on my nails. She was quick and the cost is what you would pay on average. I would recommend this nail salon. The only bad thing was they only take cash tip and I only had my debit card I felt awful. I've been to 9 Inch Nails on many occasions, but the last time I got my nails done was a disaster. I made an appointment and was seated right away. I wanted some color on my nails, so I just got them painted with the normal polish. No acrylic or gel-- nothing that would have damaged my nail beds. The polish lasted the normal amount of time, but my nails started to hurt really bad a few days after getting them done at 9 Inch Nails. I felt a lot of pressure starting at the bed of my nails. Then, the unthinkable happened. My nail beds started dying and it was very painful--as seen in the photos. I went to urgent care and they asked if I had gotten my nails done recently. When I told them I had, they said that it was a nail-fungal infection, most likely from their tools/workspace not being cleaned properly. I was prescribed an antibiotic to stop the infection. But sadly, there was no hope for my dying nails. Those took a few months to begin looking normal again. I wrote this review to warn others about going to 9 Inch Nails. I've read other reviews on Google about how dirty it was in the salon. I will never be going to 9 Inch Nails again. read more

This was quite possibly the fastest shellac manicure I've ever had. I was out of there in 35 minutes, and I don't mean this in a good way. The guy who did my nails was clearly disinterested, barely spoke to me, seemed more interested in his phone and flew through the process.
