Another spot that the wifey insisted on going to, and I'm glad she did. She knows I'm a sucker for carbs and this spot isn't going to help. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon and as we entered you can tell this spot is popular amongst many. As busy as the line and crowd is though it moves quickly. Everything is so nicely displayed and packaged. My wife loves the lemon mini cakes. A very soft and light little cupcake with a subtle lemon flavor. I tried the Hokkaido Custard bun and it's a new favorite. Very soft and fluffy with a whipped cream filling, so good! I also tried a Mango Custard Bun that was amazing! It didn't taste like Mango at all to me (not sure of the filling) but had a pumpkin or sweet potato like filling, like an empenada, loved it. I also tried the grapefruit tea but it was just too sweet for me. While it did have bits of grapefruit, it also had an "artificial grapefruit" flavor to it that I didn't like. As for the bread and buns everything is incredibly soft and fluffy and I look forward to trying other items again soon.
Dropped in to check out the bakery and picked up some pastries. The location was very clean and spacious. I got the matcha strawberry and chocolate guns and both were light and fluffy and very subtle sweet. Enjoyed both pastries and can't wait to come back to try more items.
We love this place. All the bread is tasty, all the coffee I've had is delicious and the vibes here are unmatched. Look forward to our next visit!
Came on a Tuesday morning and got a pastry and Vietnamese coffees. Line was short but also the shelves still seemed low stock so not sure what was going on, the first time I figured a big rush but a second time in the morning it seemed strange to me they didn't have more items out. We asked for low ice and regular ice for our drinks, but they were both the same amount of ice. Sat at one of the inside tables, there is just a few, I think they could use more. Dang that Vietnamese coffee though is so strong! Didn't love the taste, drank half then saved the second half for the afternoon i regret that! Couldn't sleep that night lol
It is such a refreshing change from traditional American bakeries. Since they specialize in Taiwanese baked goods, everything is incredibly soft, airy, and best of all, not overly sweet. They have a great selection of both sweet and savory treats, so there is truly something for everyone. I tried the coconut cream sponge roll, the maple danish and the chocolate sponge roll. All very delicious! I also ordered the sea salt iced coffee. It had great flavor without being overly sweet as well. The service was quick and the workers were very friendly and helpful. It is a very busy place with a consistent flow of customers.
When it comes to bakeries, I'm used to traditional American baked goods or French bakeries. I saw this place and wanted to try it- a Taiwanese rooted bakery with many international dessert- a little from all over! And the coffee bar is superb and drinks made to order. You can purchase individual items, whole cakes, loaves of bread, savory items, there are over 50 unique foods to buy. The prices are the lowest I've seen for a bakery and coffee shop. It's a cute modern spot with tables to dine or sip on your drink. I loved how they put a Bakersfield landmark as part of the decor! So not useto a menu being more affordable in these times. I can't wait to bring my friends and family to try it out. Next time I'm getting a loaf of milk bread to make French toast at home.
I used to drive far to get their coffee and pastries so I was very delighted to have 85 Degree Bakery in town. I think that their coffee is always amazing - hot or cold, I don't think you can ever go wrong. And their baked goods are always delicious, nothing too sweet and always aesthetically pleasing. Price-wise, they are very reasonable too. The only thing with this location I have noticed is that there are less choices than their other counterparts, let's say their Vegas location. I wish there was as much variety as them. But, you can only as much, I guess. Yes, they are still worth trying!
So happy they've finally opened up a location here in Bakersfield. Freshly baked breads and pastries as well as delicious drinks that's perfect for breakfast, snacks, etc. Generally speaking, I love how tasty, soft and delicious their breads/pastries are and how amazing and refreshing their drinks are. Their service can be slow but other than that, this place is clean and organized and their staff are usually welcoming and friendly. I recommend this place!
Parking is at marketplace. I tried the brown shaken iced coffee (ordered a medium) and it was delicious! I tried the jalapeño cheese bread which was toasted on the outside but super soft inside. all the baked goods are individually wrapped and surprisingly were super soft. Ordering: you order your drinks on the tablet then you go around choosing your baked goods then pay at the counter. Service was speedy as I went around 9:30am and there was no line outside. They have indoor seating and perfect for a coffee date with a friend. It does get busy depending on what time you stop by. They even have cheesecakes available so much to choose from.
My favorite place, 8(c, and missing these now that I live in Florida... Large, newish place with friendly cashiers and the best selection of cakes and drinks. Got a few of my healthier choices for the road ( garlic cheese, coconut twist ) and sea salt jasmine iced green tea....heaven!!
It's a serve yourself kind a place. It's fast pace. Serve is quick since you're the doing it. Employees are super nice. Explain to me in the ends on outs of app. To me gave the honest opinion on drinks. The noise level is average for coffee shop busy bakery. Stop by and enjoy
Modern and trendy ,this bakery cafe has something for everyone. With a variety of drinks and pastries you're sure to find something that'll keep you coming back . For me, it's the variety. I love that I always get to try something different. The pastries are incredibly affordable, so stocking up when you visit isn't uncommon.Grab a tray and add your favs before waiting in line to check out . The drinks are affordable too, I'm obsessed with the salted caramel line . I've been loving the sea salt caramel iced latte and the savory bread options. Everything is fresh and packed to go , there's a seating area inside as well. Service is fast and the staff kind . I can only imagine how many times a day they get asked the same questions. This is such an experience, I highly recommend a visit.
Love 85 cafe. Always go here for some milk tea or matcha. Super happy to finally have an 85 in town. The space looks amazing and I think the location being one of the shops at the marketplace was a good idea. I was thinking either there or at Riverwalk. But anyways, very busy and lots of pastries sold out asap. I love seeing the empty shelves and love that everyone loves their baked goods! I like that you can skip the line and order through their kiosks instead. Ive ordered from there twice and got my drink in like 5 ish minutes. Cant wait to come back and have more of their sea salt matcha more often now that this bakery is finally in town and of closer distance.

I have been here twice in the last few days. I purposely waited for that "new spot shine" to wear off before I even attempted to go and I must have picked a good day because there was no line. My daughter and grabbed a tray and perused the pastry section extensively. There first day we went there was an abundance of pastries for us to chose from. The second day however was picked over and the shelves were scare. The first day we were able to get the jalapeño and cheese pastries, the bacon, egg and cheese roll, the matcha rolls, a coffee croffin, cheese breads, strawberry danishes and even an egg tart for the hubby. We also got a Vietnamese coffee and a matcha with boba. Everything was delicious! The second time around I was on a mission for the Vietnamese coffee since I'd been craving one since the day prior, and we were only able to grab a few of the cheese breads and a couple of the berry muffins. Those berry muffins were absolutely amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect with those muffins but sheesh was I pleasantly surprised! This place is a must try! Gather the whole family and get yourselves to the 85 Bakery for some of the softest, best pastries and strongest, tastiest Vietnamese coffee I've ever had! Also, each time I didn't spend near as much as I would've expected, so it's reasonably priced as well! read more
85 Degree Cafe is a part of So Cal Asian life. Did they pull it off correctly in Bakersfield? I think they did. It is bright, clean, modern, and inviting. Nice local touch with a neon Bakersfield neon signs for you influencer types. Plenty of seating to sit with a cool drink and eat some delicious pastries. The staff has strict 85 Degrees corporate training, the service is top notch. The pastries are high quality and consistent. For those who are not familiar, the first part is a dizzying choice of pastries you can take and put it on a tray. Just eat with your eyes. If it looks good, grab one. Everything there is good, you cannot go wrong. Around the register is another massive glass case with cold pastries. Asian pastries tends to use more fruit, and lighter on the cream and sweetness. There is a full service drink bar you can order drinks when you check out. My wife and I a both obsessed with their tarot buns and sea salt coffee. We are so happy this place is here, in a safe, convenient neighborhood. read more

I'm so excited that Bakersfield finally has an 85° Bakery! The lines aren't as long as they were during the soft and grand opening, so I've finally made my way in. This location is pretty big. There's lots of seating and kiosks available to order drinks. I'm a fan of all of their pastries, but this time I came for a larger order. I got one of their 8in cakes for my brother's birthday. It was convenient that I could just pick one up instead of having to preorder cuz I didn't have a designated time that I'd be able to stop by. As always, it was very delicious! I like that their pastries aren't too sweet and they have a light texture. read more
Where to begin.!? I gave this place 4 starts simply for how STRONG the coffee was. I ordered a caramel macchiato to be safe and to my surprise it didn't taste sweet at all , instead it tastes like coffee ! In a good way... it woke me up like nothing else I've had. For that I will return ... now customer service is very mid. Workers don't smile , they don't look happy overall. Not a good look. They were out of most of their pastries so I didn't get any. Also the crowd can be very aggressive and rude. Not sure why ... but they act like it's hunger games . Anyways I'll return for coffee and try something new ! read more

This is a well known bakery in LA, I'm so glad it came to Bakersfield. There is a lot of bread options and cakes as well and coffees to enjoy. The boba here is fantastic but yes ...... it's true ... you will have to wait about 1-2 hours depending on when you arrive to make line . This establishment is new and a huge hype for this small town . Be prepared and it's worth it read more
First time trying this place out. I waited a bit after their opening because the line was crazy long. The bakery is self.serve on most baked items but they also have a huge selection of drinks you can order at the register. Today we went early and mostly everything was in stock. There was so many different breads, cakes or cookies to choose from. I brought my friend along who had already tried some items so she pointed out some must haves. I liked that there was a variety of savory and sweet items but bummed I didnt see any gluten free items available. I tried all the breads when I got home and have to say of the 5 bought today the ones that were amazing was the Coffee Cruffin amd the Chocolate Croissant. Dont get me.wtong everything was wonderful but those were the flavor surprises. There is seating inside for those wishing to enjoy their yummy There. All and all I will be back to try some more of their baked goods and drinks. read more
I was super excited for 85 Degrees to finally have a location here in Bakersfield. Currently, the wait times are long due to the hype surrounding the soft opening, but whenever someone gets the opportunity they should definitely give this place a try! All the breads and pastries are amazing and are so soft and filled with flavor. I have yet to try a drink but the inside is new, clean and once it settles down a bit, I'm sure 85° will be a nice, cozy spot for conversations or work/study. read more

I had to come as soon as possible with this new cafe in Bakersfield. A hour long wait to get inside , but it was worth it. Walking inside , you pick a tray and choose as much pastries as you want. Then getting in line , I managed to also order an 85C coffee which I highly recommend. Ordering drinks are on their tablet by the line, so it's super easy to order. Everything came out to 25 bucks which is pretty great pricing. The service is top tier, they're all working fast and still keeping a smile on. Our favorite pastries are the Premium Milk, Coconut Twist, and the Blueberry tart! We will definitely be coming again! read more

I absolutely love this place! They have some of the best bakery items around, and everything is so affordable. The staff is incredibly kind, and for being a newer business, they've been handling everything so well. Every visit has been smooth, and it's become one of those places I keep coming back to. Plus, it's right next to the Edwards Theater, making it the perfect stop before or after a movie. Highly recommend! read more

This was was a nice chill vibe to sit and talk. But i would say the drinks were okay nothing crazy. I did like how you can order on a stand up device and even go the counter to order as well. The desserts that my friends and i got were good nothing special. I would say over all it was a Midd Place but vibes are still chill! All other dessert looked very good though! As well the prices of everything wasn't too expensive. read more

Went there on grand opening but at 7pm and there was a line out the door limiting people to go in but it goes fast we probably only waited 5 minutes and was in. They have a lot of variety but out of the ones I wanted. I've gone twice and wanted the coconut bun. I love Asian pastry it's not too sweet and so soft. Their prices are not bad. I'm gonna go try once they open in the morning hoping they have more variety as I don't know if they ran out or don't carry everything. Since Porto's is only in the LA area, this is my go to. read more

I had heard about this place and had been wanting to try it since it opened last month. My wife and I visited on a Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m. There was already a line out the door, and they were only allowing a limited number of customers inside at a time. The main reason we came was to try the coffee. I was a little disappointed to learn that the only milk alternatives available were soy and oat milk. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk since almond milk was not offered. I also wanted to add cinnamon and honey, but neither was available. Although they did not have my preferred options, the coffee itself tasted good. However, it was served extremely hot, and I had to wait quite a while before I could drink it. My wife ordered a hot matcha latte, also with oat milk because almond milk was unavailable. Unfortunately, it seemed that the milk had not been steamed properly, as she described the drink as lukewarm and nearly cold. This highlighted a noticeable inconsistency in the temperature of their hot beverages. It also would have been nice to have a separate line for customers who were only purchasing coffee, as opposed to those ordering food. Overall, our experience was a bit disappointing, to say the least. read more

I usually go to this bakery in LA. So happy we have one here in Bakersfield. Their sea salt coffee is something I always get, and their Bakersfield location has kept the same yummy caffeinated quality. Their staff was kind and service was quick. Although, you can expect a bit of a wait to get inside because there's always a line for getting inside the bakery. The inside was slightly different than what I'm used to cause they actually have a dedicated dine in area. I liked the indoor seated section cause you can sit inside during the Bakersfield heat and enjoy your beverage and pastries. Also, right now they're doing a soft opening so their hours are limited 9am to 3pm. read more

I am so happy this bakery has made its arrival in Bakersfield. They have figured out a system that allows 10 people in at a time that way the bakers & employees have time to restock before the next batch of customers. This is only their soft opening for the next few weeks so items are limited but still plenty to choose from! The pastries are beautiful & warm no matter the time of day you go. That said, they open at 9 and it's in the best interest of the shopper to arrive before doors open. The wait is well worth the experience. read more
