This was my first time having kimbap and it was really good! They were out of most options, so we got their Beef Bulgolgi Kimbap. It looked and tasted delicious! While I don't have anything to compare it to, I still really enjoyed it and would definitely get it again. I think the type of kimbap you get is going to determine whether it's a 4 or 5 star because I can see some options not being as flavorful as others. Service was great as well. And I couldn't get over the cute kimbap themed decor they had everywhere.

Stopped by this spot inside Sterling Food Hall around 11:30 for a quick lunch. The line was short and I got my food immediately. I ordered the spicy pork kimbap and added the fish cake with soup. You can add the fish cakes to any kimbap purchase for $3, which is a small discount from the usual $4. The total still came out to about $17 to $18, which felt a bit pricey for kimbap, however, it was filling and I left full. The spicy pork was flavorful with a nice kick, and I liked that the kimbap included a variety of ingredients that added a satisfying crunch and texture throughout. It kept each bite interesting. The fish cakes were just okay, nothing particularly memorable, but the soup itself was nice to have alongside the kimbap.

This Korean kimbap spot is exactly the kind of place you want when you need something fast, convenient, and actually healthy. Service was quick and friendly, and the food came out almost immediately, making it a great option for a casual lunch or quick dinner. What stood out most was how little rice they use compared to traditional kimbap. The purple rice layer was almost as thin as the seaweed itself, so the rolls felt packed with protein, vegetables, and fiber instead of just carbs. It honestly felt more like a healthy protein wrap than typical fast food, which I appreciated. We tried both the bulgogi and spicy pork versions. The bulgogi was definitely the winner for me -- flavorful, savory, and balanced really well with the fresh ingredients. The spicy pork was not bad at all, but noticeably spicier. If you love heat, then you'll probably enjoy that one more than I did. Overall, this is a great place if you want Korean comfort food that feels lighter, healthier, and still satisfying without sacrificing convenience.

Kimbap always hits! When you wanna do a quick fulfilling lunch and reasonable price and also wanna eat your skin care. Come here , carrots are good for retinol and the daikon kimchi is good for your gut health lol. Love this place please carry more Korean food or side banchans.

After I enjoyed their kimbap in person, I saw on their instagram that they used to have korean fried chicken (not currently offered at the food hall at this time). I inquired about it and found out that they do catering and was willing to cater 10 orders of korean fried chicken on a Saturday for my Friendsmas with friends! This must've been the best korean fried chicken I've had in Chicago as well. The marinade was so delicious; not too spicy, not too heavy, and a good balance of sweetness, saltiness, and spiciness. I don't know how they managed to keep the chicken crunchy even after it cools down, as the chicken didn't get devoured by my friends and I until about an hour after I received it freshly made. Everyone in my party had high praises for the chicken as well! DM them on Instagram if you're interested in catering! They were super responsive and the ordering and pickup process were seamless.

Visiting Chicago for a few hours, just got off the train and needed food. On our walk to the Bean we spotted The Food Hall. My friends and I split to look for items we would like to eat. I came across 82 Kimbap. I was curious because I love Koren food, especially Kimbap, but I can't handle spicy and eggs don't do it for me all the time. So I was so pleased that they were able to do the bulgogi roll without egg. I asked what they would recommend with sauces since again can't do spicy, I got the Preilla Vinaigrette and it was so so so good with the roll. And their Kimchi!! I struggle to find a kimchi that isn't spicy and just tasty. Their radish kimchi was everything I wanted and more with the sauce and roll. 20/10 thank you so much! Oh wait! Their Korean Apple-Pear drink! Very refreshing especially if you're not from the area and used to the humidity.

One time, I was in a restaurant that touts itself as Japanese-Mexican fusion. If you had asked me my favorite kinds of food, Japanese and Mexican would be up there. So I was dying to stop in. I thought they'd have Japanese-inspired tacos and Mexican-inspired sushi. Guess what? No dice. The sushi was regular. The tacos were regular. Food wasn't bad, but there was nothing fusion about it, just a matter of having both under one roof. Now, you know how on Chopped dishes are judged not only by their taste but also on their creativity? This is what makes 82 Kimbap really shine. If I am to be 100% honest, the food didn't blow my mind. It was good, don't get me wrong, but on its own, nothing worth writing home about. It was the creativity that truly set it apart. The dish was like a sushi roll, but it was filled with Korean ingredients. Having ordered a pork bulgogi, it had the aforementioned protein, some sweet egg, some purple rice, and some veggies. The recommended sauce was also tasty, and while I don't remember the name, I can tell you it was green and nothing like soy sauce, not even close. With that said, I did find the fillings flavorful and well-balanced. Everything played together nicely. They also offered a free cup of their soup, which had just the right amount of funk to be unusual, but still be pleasant. I can especially see myself getting this on a cold Chicago winter's day. Finally, I felt that their prices were reasonable for a respectable-sized portion, and the service here was immensely friendly and very fast. Final verdict: 82 Kimbap shines in the fact that they do fusion right - something very few places can accomplish. If you are a fan of Japanese or Korean food, or ideally both, or maybe you just love interesting and unusual dishes that aren't way out there, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't stop by. Edit to add: Someone let me know that Kimbap is a Korean dish, and therefore this place is not Korean/Japanese fusion. I apologize for my ignorance.

Very good for a quick meal at the office. I tried the Spicy Pork Kimbap with their Yuzu Aioli. It was fresh and served almost immediately. No complaints and I will be back!

Wanted to try out this place after seeing a bunch of TikTok's of 82 Kimbap. I do like the concept and it's a good meal to grab if I'm not feeling something too heavy. The rice is so thin and they really pack it. If I'm in the office, this is the perfect meal to eat. However, I was shocked that my kimbap was almost $17. Maybe it's because I grew up eating a lot of kimbap near me that was less than $10. The concept is good but at least you get a sauce (which I wouldn't typically eat with kimbap) and some broth to wash down the kimbap.

Rating: 3.7/5. The bulgogi kimbap was much better than I expected. Big portion size with a good gochujang sauce. 82 Kimbap is my new go-to restaurant in Revival food hall.

I'm so excited that there is Korean food at the Sterling Food Hall. 82 Kimbap has quick service and the staff is very friendly. I enjoyed eating the beef and spam kimbap. Between the different sauces I prefer the yuzu sauce. Next time I'll have to try their drinks. They sell out quick so make sure you get there early to try their kimbap.

4.7/5 Food: We tried beef bulgogi, spam, and cheese. All great, go with bulgogi if it's your first time. Good amount of meat and egg. The odeng is soo good too. Sauce did not taste like yuzu. Overall such a great price, and as a Korean i am so glad we have Kimbap in the loop now. 5/5 Service: The girl working was friendly and everyone working there looked like they actually wanted to be there. They instantly gave us our food. 5/5 Ambiance: I love ambiance at sterling hall. Their branding is cute too.

Then I saw the KBBQ menu and all bets were off. I immediately pivoted and ordered the chef's tasting set, the Diweji, featuring pork jowl, pork collar, and pork belly, complete with an assortment of banchan. Zero regrets. And here's the part that should tell you everything you need to know: I am a certified radish hater. I avoid it whenever possible. Yet somehow, I found myself repeatedly reaching for the radish banchan and asking for more. Even the soup - which also featured radish - was absolutely delicious. If Perilla can convert someone who actively dislikes radish into a fan for one meal, that's saying something. The soju was exactly what I wanted with Korean barbecue: crisp, clean, and refreshing. I appreciate that it was neutral rather than overly sweet. The flavored, sweeter versions aren't really my thing unless the food is setting my mouth on fire. Speaking of spice, the wings were good: juicy, well-executed, and satisfying but I kept wishing they packed a little more heat. They weren't spicy at all, and a bigger kick would have taken them from very good to unforgettable. As for the meats, the pork jowl was gloriously rich and fatty, exactly what you'd expect from that cut. The pork collar ended up being my favorite: flavorful, tender, and with just the right balance of meat and fat. The pork belly was comforting and familiar - the classic KBBQ staple done well, with beautifully rendered edges and that indulgent quality that makes it a crowd-pleaser for a reason. The set also came with potatoes that were unexpectedly delicious. My only complaint? It was far too much food for one person. The service deserves its own mention. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The entire meal was delivered with efficiency and a smile, making a solo diner feel completely comfortable lingering and enjoying the experience. What I thought would be a quick happy hour stop turned into one of my favorite meals.

Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well. They were not extra or over the top in anyway. But you can tell when something is done well and correctly, just like these fries were. The Premium Steakhouse Set, in my opinion, is all two people need to enjoy this very special experience. I went back to the hostess showing the 8:15 resy I got and she said it wasn't accurate and if someone booked it and came they would refuse them (what???!! There's a cancellation fee as well). I asked about the 8:45 and her coworker said that IS available. I was confused, because a minute ago she said they were fully commited. Which I said back, she said there is actually an 8:45 (okay so you lied). I asked if we could put our name down for that and did. After that extremely strange interaction, which I was not used to after eating at many higher end restaurants we sat down at 8:45. We ended up getting a mix of small plates. The waiter was clearly trying to sell us their expensive courses for his tip though he was very sweet... which he may not have realized we had an expense budget for work and we were trying not pass that. He emphasized the small plates were small and not enough food which we fell for and got more and had way too much food and passed our expense budget due to it. The food is great, it's the service that has work to do especially for such a high price tag. Get the chicken for sure. Dumplings you can pass on. The broccolini (not pictured) is great as well. I was also in love with the tapioca fritters with pepper jelly. The texture of the tapioca fritter was so unique and fun, and the pepper jelly was seriously out of this world. They said it's basically a Korean restaurant with not much Korean food on the menu, but is really good. That immediately sparked my curiosity. I said let's go, it sounds interesting. We all met at 8:00 at Parachute that sorta, kinda sometimes takes reservations; and we did not have one. Not to fear, as the greeter-seater got us three stools at the bar, which by the way, were the best seats in the house. Parachutes menu was all over the place but my son particularly pointed out their hamburger, and I (then) knew why: Living in Los Angeles for a k-billion years, my favorite hamburger was at a restaurant called My Father's Office, owned by Sang Yoon, a Korean chef. His off-beat burgers were sensational! The burger here at Parachute were equally off-beat, so I immediately ordered it. Damn, was it delicious! There were so many things going on here that my head was buzzing, trying to put all these flavors together? And yes, their burger rivaled Chef Yoons burger in L.A.! The burger came cut in two with each side resting in mayo and BBQ sauce. Wow, was it bizarre, offbeat, unique, atypical and the adjectives keep on going; but the adverb used on the burger was - MESSY, and I loved it. I didn't need napkins to stay clean, I needed a beach towel. The fries I ordered were fantastic along with their banana based ketchup which again was strangely weird but excellent. My OB Korean beer paired perfectly with my "Perfect Storm" hamburger. My son and his fiancee went with a salad and Pad Thai Noodles with shrimp which was equally as delicious as my meal. Parachute Hi Fi was definitely an anomaly that I enjoyed very (very) much. And, yes, I'll be back!
