He was very knowledgable and seemed to be a straight shooter (I wanted some storage over the toilet and he straight up told me that would be weird because it would block the bathroom window). After listening to what we were thinking, he came up with a plan and gave us an estimate. We didn't get any renderings (not sure if bathroom renovations get those?) but we knew he knew what he was doing, so it wasn't really an issue - Mom and I were trusting he and his team's professionalism and it worked! Did we have any idea of the cost of a bathroom renovation? No. Was it more than I imagined it to be? Honestly, yes. But after the job was done, did I think it was worth it? ABSOLUTELY YES. The job Kurihara Contracting did with our master bathroom was AWESOME. And I think with this company, you get what you pay for - The professionalism, consideration, final product...chef's kiss! Our bathroom looks so much larger and brighter! We just love it. We were also able to upgrade to a toilet we wanted (something really important to my mom ;D). Beyond Builders and their staff were communicative and understanding from start to finish! In our initial meetings with Josh and Tomoko, they carefully listened to our desired outcomes and focused on staying within a set budget we were comfortable with (cuz economy's tough y'know?). Once the contract was signed, 3D designs were promptly drafted which gave us several options to choose from, they guided us through obtaining required items for the material list, and once everything was ready a start date was set. They were very patient with us, we never felt rushed, and our desired outcomes were always prioritized. Junior and Ming were the leads on the renovation portion, and MAN do they work efficiently! They said it would take two weeks, and they finished in two weeks. One thing I appreciate about their crew was the communication on progress and collaborative questions. For example, before installing handles on the cabinets they would ask beforehand how we'd like them placed. They always made sure it was being made the way we wanted. At the end of the renovation, the kitchen felt like something out of a movie set. As you can tell in the attached pictures, the before pictures (green, walled) and after pictures (open, white countertop) is night and day. They were doing such a good job that I had to request a change order to install a new vanity in our bathroom to replace the old one haha. All in all, Beyond Builders was a pleasure to work with. I wanted my kitchen and one bathroom to be completed by a certain date (I converted my bathrooms from a tub to walk-in showers). Kai and the crew actually finished it ahead of schedule. The second phase was done about a month later. End result, complete makeover. Any flaws or defects, I would point them out and no problem, it would get corrected. Work crew are hard workers, very good at what they do, respectful and cleans up after themselves. I thought overall price was reasonable. Highly recommend. Very happy with the end result.

We just moved back home to Oahu from the mainland and decided to completely remodel a home that's been in the family for over forty years. It's a classic 50s Hawaii house, with all of the charm and challenges that go with it. We interviewed several builders and architects for the project. One reason we chose Tall Builders was because Victor and the office staff were so quick, clear, and consistent in their communication. It was also super convenient that they could both design and build, and that their design services were sold separately so we could always change our minds before committing. Ronnie was our designer, and she was fantastic. Big renovations can be overwhelming with so many decisions to make, and Ronnie was incredibly generous and helpful from beginning to end. Victor was always a text message away throughout the entire process, and he was incredibly gracious at all times--even when we texted on nights and weekends. Our build site is very challenging. The house is high on a steep hillside with many winding stairs from street to house, and the street itself is a steep blind curve. We were amazed at what the crew was able to do on such a difficult site. They were able to demolish the house to the studs, remove all of the rubble, and rebuild everything, including significant foundation and flood mitigation work, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, windows, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and even helped us source appliances. The work areas were kept tidy every day, and he explained what he was doing so we always knew the plan. What stood out most was how versatile and skilled he is--he handled framing, drywall, and finish work all in one go.
