​I hate to say it, but I just had one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. ​Right from the start, the vibes were off. The older gentleman who served us seemed genuinely annoyed that we chose to dine in rather than take our food to go. He gave off a negative energy and just did not seem welcoming overall. It didn't get any better once the food arrived. ​My husband ordered the Loco Moco, but the beef patties were clearly pre-frozen and totally unseasoned. The eggs were way too runny even for his taste, and the whole dish was bland--definitely not the authentic Hawaiian flavor we were hoping for. ​I had the War Wonton Noodle Soup, and it was honestly upsetting. The broth was basically clear water with no flavor. The shrimp seemed like they hadn't been cleaned or gutted at all, and they tasted "off" and extremely fishy. To make matters worse, the ramen noodles were so tough they felt like they might have been expired, and the few wontons I actually got were mushy and falling apart. Found this place on Yelp and so glad that we did!! My family and I visited 808 on a Saturday evening (around 4:30/5) to grab an early dinner. We were welcomed and sat immediately. The staff and especially the owner were very hospitable and helpful in ordering and just with everything. We ordered way too many dishes and the plates were huge, but we love leftovers so it was fine haha. We got the mochicko chicken, garlic miso chicken, loco moco, green beans, and siu mai (please note this takes about 20min so you'll get after your mains come out). Everything is made in house and to order and it was all so good. The gravy on the loco moco was probably the best we've had in Vegas (highly recommend). The siu mai was delicious and the filling was FILLED. Their house made chili sauce was SO GOOD. If you can handle spice (even though it wasn't super spicy), definitely try this!! Yo, this place is good. It's the type of place you kinda wanna gatekeep, but we want this place to thrive and continue to stay in business! We've tried a lot of Hawaiian places in Vegas and this is one of the best. They serve Hawaiian and Chinese food - but don't be fooled, they do both extremely well. We got the fish ball and fish cake hor fun, salt n pepper tofu, and loco moco. The hor fun was a really nice fish ball soup that was light - with a southeast asian flair. Really good. The salt n pepper tofu was the type we've been craving from Chinese restaurants, and it was really well executed - well seasoned with that salt n pepper flavor, and a little kick from onions and jalapenos. Nice and crispy. The loco moco was massive and the gravy was really deep which I enjoyed. The patties were more of a salisbury steak kind of consistency. I would have preferred a bit more char on those, but not bad. I do want to come back and try the beef stew, since it seems pretty well reviewed. All in all, would def come back. read more

We ordered the soy garlic shrimp and the seafood laksa, which is better than my 2 favorite spots to get laksa in LA, the flavor was so deep and it was so hearty! I was at an appointment and wanted to pick up some takeout; so went on Yelp to see what was in the area. I decided on 808 Cafe. A nice man greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I asked to see a menu and he asked if I was ordering takeout. The menu has a mixture of Hawaiian, Chinese, and Japanese items. I decided on the Dumplings in Red Oil, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and a Thai Tea. Last minute I got a side of the Macaroni Salad because several Yelpers said how good it was. He asked if I wanted Jelly in the Thai Tea so I said sure, why not. The restaurant is very clean and inviting with nice, simple decor. I went around 3pm on. Wednesday and it wasn't busy, just one other table but looked like other takeout orders. He brought my drink out as I waited. The Thai Tea with Coffee Jelly was delicious, exactly what I wanted. My order was ready timely and he asked if I wanted Chili Oil, which I did and he informed me utensils and napkins were in the bag. The food was amazing. Eggs are cooked perfectly (runny as it should be). Char Kuay Teow is tasty. Perfectly cooked but very few shrimp so at $16, it's a little overpriced. Curry laksa is good. Just 1 comment, the noodle should be yellow egg noodle and not ramen noodle. That would've been more authentic. The ramen noodle turned soggy and pasty in the curry. Service is good. Server is polite. Clean small place with no fuss. Overall, 8.4/10. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. I love this place so much. It's a small family ran business that serves Hawaiian fusion. I've been here multiple times and each time the owner has been so friendly. I want to try everything here. The restaurant is very clean. That being said, I came here with my brother a month ago and tried the mochiko chicken. It was so juicy and the potion is generous. Everything is made to order. FANTASTIC! Saw a post on FB about how good the salt & pepper fish filets were here so of course I jumped on Yelp to check them out. Turns out I had it bookmarked but forgot about it. Ordered chicken fried rice (5/5), beef chow fun (5/5), shu mai (10/5), the s&p fish filets (5/5) and the loco moco for takeout. Phone ordering was smooth and the gentleman taking the order was very nice and efficient. Husband got to the location earlier than he thought so the food wasn't ready yet, for which the server apologized for, but not necessary as husband was early. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The loco moco would be a skip for me next time, as the gravy had a different taste than I'm used to, but the husband said he'll get it again as he really liked it. The s&p fish filets were damn good. A tad greasy when reheated, but then, it is a fried dish (duhhhh). The shocker/pleasant surprise was the shu mai. I'm guessing they're homemade, as I've never had such tasty shu mai, not even at a dim sum place. Will definitely be getting more of these babies. Perfectly seasoned, plump bundles of porky-shrimpy goodness. The fried rice and chow fun were spot on. Generous with the protein and the beef in the beef chow fun had the perfect texture. No gristle, not chewy, just tasty bites of tender beef. I think we finally found our favorite Chinese spot. I love supporting small local businesses, especially in this economy. 808 Cafe was no exception as we discovered this neighborhood gem. The restaurant is located in a strip mall by Flamingo and Buffalo near Cardena's. It is a small cafe with only six tables. When we first went in, there was only one other table occupied, however, upon leaving, all tables were full. We wanted to leave right away upon finishing so the next customers would have our table and enjoy the experience as much as we did. The food is excellent! Hubby and I ordered an appetizer of shrimp and veggie tempura which was the best version we have ever had. It was amazing with six shrimps and various veggies, plenty for us to share. We ordered chicken pad Thai and Buddha's Feast which is a veggie/tofu dish with glass noodles. Phenomenal! The pad Thai was on the spicy side but not too spicy, yet not too bland, but juuuuust right. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The menu is full of various Asian dishes representing Hawaiian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Something for everyone! Wow, this was a revelation, and we were so happy to have discovered this place. I look forward to returning to try the many other options that looked so inviting on their menu. I got all rice but it comes with mac salad and vegetables (broccoli). The service was phenomenal, there was one server but he was friendly. I was looking for a place to get lunch/dinner. I pulled into a parking lot where I have been to the Big 5 store and did a Yelp search. Sure enough, 808 Café was in the same plaza. I had never noticed it the times I had been there. A cursory look at their menu, and I knew this was a place worth trying. Thank you, Yelp! I entered the small restaurant. I assume a good part of their business is take out. I went to the counter, got a menu, and sat at one of the tbales. I went to go the counter to order, but the kind gentleman told me to wait a the table and he'd come to me. After finishing two take out orders, he came over and asked what I wanted. I told him the Char Kway Teow. He let me know it was a bit hot. That's OK with me but as I found in many Asian restaurants, when they have a chili next to a menu item to denote some spiciness, it's not really spicy. Char Kway Teow is Malaysian style chow fun with shrimp, BBQ pork, and egg. The noodles are wide, flat ones. I also ordered an iced tea which he brought quickly. When the food arrived, he warned me it was hot (temperature). He also asked me if I wanted any hot sauce. I turned him down because I didn't want to mask the flavor of the dish. The noodles were excellent. There was a good amount of shrimp and pork along with bean sprouts, and it made for a good lunch/dinner. After I finsihed, he asked me if I wanted anything more. I decided against dessert. I also knew that I'd be back to try some of their other dishes. I'm afraid loco moco, as much as I like it, is just too much of a meal so I'll stay with he Asian foods. Walked into this restaurant and immediately thought I was a major red flag that the menu had a bunch of items from a bunch of different places. Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese I was like oh god they're going to try to do everything and fail hard. Well don't I look stupid. I got the dumplings and the beef stew. Yeah beef stew in an Asian centric restaurant. Have to say it's some of the best stew I've had in a hot minute in Vegas. Sorry I went to town before I took a photo. The guy in front was friendly and helped me pick out a side. Safe side he said dumplings and I was like here we go generic dumplings. Absolutely delicious dumplings. Can't complain about anything. The meals came out quick didn't have to wait too long and the owner came by several of times to fill our water and to check on us. I had the Chicken Katsu and wife had the Hawaiian Beef Stew. The portions were good, Chicken Katsu was moist & a hearty Hawaiian Beef Stew was not dry also. When we came in there was no one else there (maybe it was an odd hour?) We came based off of the reviews and I wasn't super satisfied after eating here. I'll say the food had flavor, but it wasn't the best quality. We got the kalbi, mochiko chicken, and beef stew w veggies. The meat on the kalbi was alittle tough and chewey and the chicken had an interesting dry dusting on the outside, but the chicken was a tad dry. It's considered a Hawaiian Asian fusion mix on the food so they have Mac salad and a choice of white or brown rice. Portions are decent but the prices I feel are higher than average. The food was amazing as well as the portions. Started with pot stickers which were made after we ordered them. Delicious. Ambience was good. Not a lot of folks there but that's what makes me feel lucky. Had the Loco Moco, hamburger patties with two eggs over rice and gravy. True Hawaiian dish and it tasted like it. I was in the mood for war won ton soup and decided to try this place because the also offered takoyaki as an appetizer. The place is a small but quaint little cafe I could easily see it being packed during busy times. I ordered to go and there were a couple of other patrons who also ordered to go. As I mentioned earlier I got an order of takoyaki which were good and bigger than most other places. The war won ton was a nice proportion of soup the broth was good not bland and the amount of veggies and dumplings was good. I also ordered the mochinka chicken which is cut up chicken thigh floured with mochinka flour the crispness and flavor was excellent it came with rice which is way too much for me, pasta salad which is good but a small portion I would rather have more of that than the rice and a few pieces of steamed broccoli. I had read about a Hawaiian-Asian restaurant that was rated excellent. What a wonderful assortment of dishes to choose from. My Hawaiian Beef Stew came with broccoli, potatoes, carrots and white rice. Naturally there was Hawaiian macaroni salad too. My daughter ordered the Garlic Miso Chicken. With Dennis's suggestion (owner?) sampled all on plates provided. A little hot sauce on the beef and house made chili oil on the chicken. WOW! The beef stew is exactly how we make it in Hawai'i. This brought back memories as I remember my papa making beef stew for dinner back in the good old days. The rice was perfect and even though I am not a fan of Mac salad, I found myself eating the whole portion! 808 cafe has one of the best Mac salads I've ever had here. It doesn't take much ingredients, but whatever is in their recipe makes their salad definitely one to write on Yelp about. I've had some skimpy musubis here in Las Vegas, but 808 Cafe's musubi does not disappoint. It comes with a Thick piece of spam and the rice was cooked perfectly. Solid neighborhood takeout restaurant for whatever Asian to-go food you are craving. They have not only your typical Chinese chow mien and orange chicken, but others such as Singaporean noodles and lahksa soup, pad Thai, Korean kimchi fried rice, Hawaiian favorites, and plenty of vegetarian options.
