Hawaiian tuna poke , potato salad & kimchi

This is my second time I eat there , absolutely the best . I love this place ! I'll always comeback here when I visit Las Vegas .

Very friendly staff from when we walked in. Asked if we could briefly bring our dogs in while ordering and waiting for our food and they were very welcoming and accommodating for that. Heard good things about this place and wanted to try lots of things so we got two combo plates. First combo was the garlic chicken with shoyu poke. Being from Hawaii this was as close to home as you can get on the mainland. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. The poke was spot on as if it was flown in from Hawaii. Second combo was the ahi katsu and meat jun. Katsu wasn't too crispy since there was a lot of sauce but the flavor was pretty good and ahi was cooked well. The meat jun was soft and seasoned well too. Overall, great to have this place when you want local Hawaii style foods as someone who is from Hawaii. Good variety and everything on the menu was pretty good and very filling. Definitely felt the kanak attack after we finished eating!

Lemon butter garlic shrimp and garlic chicken combo plate with mixed greens (they were out of kimchi that day).

Visiting from Atlanta and was craving Hawaiian. The restaurant is small with only three tables and a bunch of counter seating so not great for large parties. I got the garlic shrimp and garlic chicken combo plate. They were out of kimchi that day, but even so, I dumbly decided to get the mixed greens instead of the crab potato salad. The portion of greens is super tiny without the side of kimchi so I should have gotten the potato salad. Alas. Food came out quickly and everything was piping hot. Generous portions and cooked perfectly. They don't skimp on the garlic for the shrimp so make sure you have breath mints. Would have loved to come here with friends so I could try everything on the menu.

Surprisingly a letdown. I had gone to their old location on Charleston before and that experience had a great impact so I had expectations that unfortunately was not met. Nothing was particularly bad. I got the dynamite chicken katsu, which had more sauce than chicken, and the lau lau, which had more leaves than pork. The prices also had gone up significantly while the amount of food went down so that felt uneven. As I had ordered the food to-go, I don't have much to say on service other than it was good. Maybe it was an off day because it is a bit a letdown if the quality had gone down, and I don't know if I would go back.

Hello Yelpers! Yes, this review is a little late... but the food is still living rent-free in my head. Grinds 2 Da Max (Russell) does not miss. My Hawaiian plate was next-level: massive laulau, Kalua pig, crab salad, and Hawaiian-style poke -- all ONO. My wife crushed her garlic chicken too. Easy parking, great location, super friendly service. Long story short: order anything, eat everything, leave happy :) :) :)

I most recently visited this spot on Saturday, the day before Mother's Day 2026. We brought some friends with us this time. We came closer to closing time. It was absolutely empty inside. Each of us ordered different things, different from our usuals. My little one had her favorite, chicken Katsu. She really liked their chicken Katsu here. It was light and crunchy. Nothing was really fried or hard. It was just enough. She did not ask for the kimchi. Instead she asked for extra potato salad. That worked out well. Some of our friends had different styles of chicken. I had teriyaki chicken. Somebody else had a garlic fried chicken. And a couple other orders included fried chicken of some sort with a different sauce. A few of us ordered pokey. Everything was so delicious. Everything was made to order. I always appreciate how neat and clean the restaurant is even during the times when it gets super busy. People do their share and cleaning up after themselves. If for some reason you're looking for a trashcan and don't see one, there's always the one outside. That actually is the one that I preferred to use so that I don't pile up trash in the trash cans inside. That way they don't have to take them out so quickly when restaurant service gets so busy. Parking is available out front. Just a warning, if you come during the lunch hour rush, you might be shit out of luck for parking. This isn't a tiny little strip mall type of situation. That is another reason that the parking lot can get a bit crowded. It is shared.

The interior is super welcoming with bright and lovely decor of Hawaii and plenty of seating. Their music is a bit of a louder volume but it is also calming. The temperature inside was incredibly cold while I waited for my food. The cashier who rang me out was super friendly and provided me with a great recommendation of the Teri steak and ginger poke combo plate, which comes with potato crab salad and two scoops of rice. They also have a good selection of trendy Hawaiian snacks and drinks as well. The Teri steak was super flavorful and tender. The rice was abundant but a bit gummy. The garlic poke was fresh and bright in flavor. I would highly recommend this place for both its meat options and its poke from this experience.

I've tried multiple Hawaiian food joints over the years in LV and had the fortune of enjoying Hawaiian food while on vacation in the Islands as well. G2 da Max is among the best I've had on the mainland. The prices are reasonable and their assorted menu offers all the main hits. Just wished they had a place closer to the N side of town.

Poke nachos was good but barely any poke.

Everyone has been raving about this place and because I've been wanting to go, I decided that I wanted to go on Mother's Day. What could go wrong? After all, I've never had "bad" Hawaiian food on the 9th Island. We ordered garlic chicken, sweet and spicy shrimp, Teri chicken, and poke nachos. Man...everything (except poke nachos) was terrible. The teri chicken had fat all over, garlic chicken just had wayyy too much garlic, and shrimp was chewy. The entire plate was mostly rice with barely any meat/protein. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but over $70 of food went straight into the trash.

This is a must for us every time we stop in Vegas. We were lucky enough to come here on a day where it would be empty in the afternoon. Super Bowl Sunday hahahah The employees are always so friendly and the food. 10/10! They never disappoint! We ordered lau lau, garlic chicken, ahi poke, furikake chicken, ahi dynamite katsu. It was all fire!!!!

Grinds 2 Da Max what can I say... We like the Grinds here! From Catering, to take out to dine in good it is consistent good grinds all the time and generous portions. Serving Hawaii kine plates with rice, choice of potato crab salad or mixed greens and kimchi. Or you can choose all rice. Also serving seafood dishes, famous "traditional Hawaiian dish called Poke (POH-keh)" diced raw fish marinated in different seasonings and many more food items, desserts and drinks. Lots of parking. Limited seating inside but do not let that stop you from going here. I'm happy they have extended hours now from 11am-8pm daily and a second location. Always Friendly Staff. So far we've had: Fried Noodles Garlic Chicken Chicken Katsu Meat Jun Teri Beef Kalua Pig (marinated smoked pulled pork) Hamburger Steak Loco Moco Limu Poke Shoyu Poke There's so many more items we need to try and we will make our way back for sure! Mahalo Grinds 2 Da Max Team!

My favorite spot in Vegas. The food is fresh, tasty, and generous. Although a bit more pricey than most Hawaiian food spots IT is WORTH the price.

It's located in a small strip mall on W Warm Springs Road, about 8 miles southwest from the W Hotel where I was staying. The décor is simple, with about six tables inside and tables outside for al fresco dining. You go there for the food, not the décor. They offer a tasting menu for two for $190, that is amazing. What's more amazing is the deluxe version for $370. As a solo diner on this occasion, I couldn't avail myself of either so I made my own, three Shigoku oysters ($12), three Oyster / Uni / Foie Gras ($30), U3 Prawn with truffle butter ($40), Truffle Bone Marrow Filet with Foie Gras ($76), two glasses of wine ($14 and $16), and Illy coffee to finish ($4). The three Shigoku oysters were great; the ones with uni and foie gras were sublime! I had a glass of 2024 Touraine Sauvignon Blanc with the oysters. The Truffle Prawn was out of this world! The large prawn was split and grilled with truffle butter. The meat was perfect, and I scooped all of the goodness from the shells and savored each bit. I wanted another order! The Truffle Bone Marrow included two bone halves, topped with sliced medium rare filet and seared foie gras. I can never have too much foie gras! The marrow was so unctuous and combined with the filet and a slice of foie gras, I was in food heaven! It's so decadent and insanely good. I had a glass of District 7 Pinot Noir with the meat. Alas, no room for dessert. If I did, I would have ordered another Truffle Prawn. I ended my meal with a cup of Illy coffee, then headed back to my hotel. Ah, what a meal! Superb from start to finish! The total came to $253.08, including a tip. Highly recommended! Rating: 4.75.

Let's start with the highlights of this place- This restaurant has what I'd call "sexy food"- dishes that look like they came straight out of a fine dining restaurant, BUT here, at a MUCH more affordable price! ESPECIALLY DURING HAPPY HOUR!! ( 11 PM - 3 AM). Here are the MUST TRY's: The Gyoza- AMAZING flavor and texture. (Happy Hour Dish) The Sashimis- All come with a citrusy yuzu soy sauce. I love the Yellowtail and Salmon one especially! (Salmon Sashimi is a Happy Hour Dish) Black Cod Lettuce Wraps- Umami, crunchy, satisfying! Chicken/Beef Kushi- the sauces for these- just WOW! (Happy Hour Dish) The New York Strip- Look at the presentation! Amazing! The side seasoning, the greens and chili threads- they all pair with this beautifully cooked steak very well! They do have pricier dishes- even a full Chef's Tasting Menu! But since I usually just come for a quick bite late at night, I don't really get those. Ambience- it is a small restaurant, but not too busy. I find that a lot of late night workers come here for a nice fancy, but affordable dinner. This place is great for groups of friends. What needs work- I do love the food of this restaurant, but there are some things that hurt it. I'd love to see them overcome these obstacles and turn out even more popular on the other side! The Outside- I'm not sure if it's the sewage or something, but around the corner spot where this restaurant is located, there's just this awful, stinky smell. I feel like that issue hurts the restaurant, especially for people who would want to dine outside. The hospitality- the staff is fast- hard working- efficient and good at their job. I don't have to wait much for my food to come out. But I feel like there is a lack of hospitality- I get the feeling that they're disinterested in you being their guest- I don't exactly feel welcome and it just comes across as they're just trying to get the job done. Closing Time- Happy Hour and Online Apple/Google Maps says this restaurant closes at 3am- however, there have been times where this restaurant stops seating or taking in orders before 2am. So just be aware that you may not be able to eat there if you go past 2. Fried Rice/Yakisoba- The rice and the noodles are great, but there's something funky about the protein. When I've ordered beef yakisoba before, the beef tastes funky- not fresh. I feel like these are strong side dishes, but I do question the freshness/flavor of the protein added to these dishes.

So this place fits the daily casual place to eat at. If you're looking for more perfection in dishes, there's tons of other places to line up and pay higher prices for in Vegas. On social media I've been seen this restaurant "China Mama" been popping up when I browse my Instagram, so today I was set on having lunch at this establishment. When I walked through doors, I was fascinated at the interior design of the place, the walls, tables and lighting because it had an atmosphere of exclusivity in a foodie type of way however at the same time the staff and service was impeccable and very welcoming to newcomers. What I noticed when I sat down is the teapot, the plates and the menu, the reason why I mentioned those things is because in a typical chinese restaurant, you see a white/red plastic plate with a chinese design on the front of the plate with teapots and teacups that have some residue on them. Along with a sticky menu book that sounds like velcro when you pull the pages apart. Rest assured because the dining set at this restaurant is nothing like that and the level of detail the manager or owner put it in must be applauded because it displays that they care for their customers and uphold the highest level of sanitation. The plates and the teapot were immaculate and also the menu was colorful and clear where I didn't know what dish I wanted to pick because I was so astonished with how vibrant the menu was designed. For new restaurants I always conduct my version of a litmus test regarding food. For chinese restaurants I order fried rice and whatever special pork dish they have on hand to gauge the type of quality I can expect. I will say this, I've had homecook fried rice, traditional fried rice and my goodness is this fried rice really spot on when it comes to flavor, seasoning and cook temperature. I order the shrimp egg fried rice and everything was delicious from the star of the dish being the shrimp to the vegetables. The blend was so harmonious that I was silently eating and lost track of time due to it being cooked to perfection. Secondly, I ordered the twice cooked pork with spicy sauce and the tenderness of the pork was so heavenly I indulge in more after more, even when I was full, my body was pushing my hand to eat more because I subconsciously didn't want the sensation of the umami to fade. I have never had a pork dish like that in a chinese restaurant. It's a far drive from where I currently reside so ontop of the lunch I had I decided to order to dish for to go so I can have the experience again for dinner. I order the pan fried pork dumplings along with signature salted egg yolk prawns. As much as I want to encourage people to try the restaurants I share on reviews, I secretly want to keep this restaurant to myself and just keep it hidden so it dosent get packed in the near future where I have to fight over reservations. That being said, whomever is looking for the best pound for pound chinese restaurant in Las Vegas? CHINA MAMA is THE best hidden secret in this city. It was a wonderful experience and it will not be the last time I visit this extraordinary establishment. Update: I took my mom, brother and sister to try this restaurant that I have been endorsing. Let me tell you how the popularity of this restaurant skyrocketed. I got there at 11:30, put my name down for a wait list not even 5 minutes has passed and 4 more people came in to put their name down. After a 20 minute wait there was an additional 12 names that were on the wait list. Service was so fast, and the pan fried pork buns was informed to us that it would take 45 min to a hour to make, of course we ordered appetizer, entrées, to be served to us when it's ready, so in the mean time we can have some food in our belly before the pork buns but that gors to show how popular that food item is and how its taken off. The waiter that waited our table was so excellent that we tipped him 30%, he was amazing. He's chinese with black frame glassess.

However, I do find it very unnecessary and strange that their "warmer" is just a bunch of normal candles (not sure if it's food safe) that go out and does not generate enough heat to really keep anything warm. The BBQ enoki mushrooms probably tasted the best but after a while you just feel sick from it because it's just sitting in oil. Unfortunately, I'm not sure this is a spot I'd be returning to, as Chinese skewers are becoming more and more popular again with more options opening up.

I'm not too sure, but it seemed like all their skewers are served with the same spicy seasoning…read more Two of our friends don't usually eat spicy food, but they were still able to enjoy them. For our next round, we asked for no spice. We tried the tendon, heart, cartilage, kidney (chicken and lamb), squid, chicken skin, and crispy pork belly. Everything was good, but the chicken skin was the group's favorite. I also loved the crispy pork belly. The place had a nice, chill vibe. Great spot to hang out. I definitely see myself coming back here.

Things were still getting together but I have faith they will get back to their normal flow. Food was tasty as always. Had the beef ribs and the kalua pig today. The Kalua pig was a very tasty version. One of the better ones I've had in town for my taste. Not too smoky, felt like it was roasted for a long time. The meat was still intact but tender. Ribs were as they always are. The only thing today, was that the boxes didn't feel as full as they normally do. Only got 4 ribs today and they weren't all that meaty. The pig dish wasn't full to the brim either. Also, prices have gone up from the menu, so seeing higher prices (totally understandable) and less food was a little disappointing. Service was friendly for the most part, but be ready for longer waits. Maybe it was because of the move, but it was a 15-20 min wait today. The ribs are still the best in town, I'm hoping the small portion was just a one off.

Well, it's such a sad day for me. This was my go to for dinner. The servings were exceptional and…read morethe price WAS phenomenal. Now they reduced the portions and raised the prices by $5. I used to order the chicken plate for 15 bucks and I would be able to have it for lunch and dinner now that same chicken plate is $20 and only enough for one setting. I'm really sad and i knew something was going to change because they've been closed for weeks, but I wasn't expecting a price raise and a portion decrease.
