Sashimi Combo (Small)
Jim L.

Brought some out of town guests as it's always a sure bet for a good meal here! Dylan and the crew were on point and the beer was ice cold! 3 of us chose the small sashimi sampler (my favorite) the miso salmon was perfectly prepared - moist and flavorful. Didn't try the oden soup but our friends raved about it, she said like mom used to make. The kaarage as usual was crunchy and juicy and the sashimi dishes were very fresh. My go to Japanese restaurant did not let me down!

Spider Roll
Kevin P.

The spider roll was really delicious and we enjoyed the deep fried soft shell crab pieces. The Kaizen bowl was fresh but some pieces we did not enjoy, such as the squid and liver. Chirashi bowl was better and virtually the same. What we didn't like: I got food poisoning immediately after and I'm assuming it was probably from the uni because it didn't taste fresh and had an odd smell to it. Also, the Japanese owner I'm assuming was racist towards a Latino family enjoying their meal and mocking them in Spanish. As someone from that community I didn't appreciate her approach in the way she spoke to them. Won't be coming back!

1/6/26 FYI. I'm drinking too slow. Lol.

4.5 star visit rounded up to 5 stars. Quality/Quantity - Due to arriving late in LV and eating a larger later lunch, I would have enjoyed this dinner more, and I would have ordered more and tried more. Scallop (Shio) Skewer - Small scallops, but cooked perfectly. With two options available, I let the waiter pick salt and pepper for me. I enjoyed the other crunch and softer center. Egg Plant Skewer - I could have and should have skipped this. Needed to be a little crispier and it was so little quantity. Are eggplants out of season? I will probably not do the Yakitori next time, just trying to relive my Japan experience. Blue Crab Meat Taco - HOMERUN! Wow, I was a little jealous when I saw this come; I almost ordered one for myself. Generous crab, and how did you cook the seaweed into a taco shell? Thick and crisp! Whole Squid (Ikayaki) - I have been craving this for the last few years! I usually buy it at KP Market in Oakland, CA, but they have not been selling it... The squid was cooked perfectly. I would have liked my onions browned a little more. And the sauce could have and should have been much more spicy! But I can understand that most of your customers might not prefer the HOT spicy korean sauce. Its Izakaya Roll - Have to try the signature roll. Decent quantity, espesically for the price. Basically a CA roll with some deep fried chicken in the center and their special sauce. It was okay. And to wash it all down, a 21oz Sapporo; they were out of the $4 draft... Ambiance - Decent size restaurant. Got lucky as we did not have reservations and were seated at the last available table. Most booths seat up to 6. Cool decor throughout, see pictures. Small parking lot, but all us tourists ride share here. Only the locals drive. Due to peak season and peak dinner time, my round trip ride share (2.6 mile each way) cost me $60! If added to the dinner price, it was expensive, lol. The customer base is a mix of locals and tourists (thanks to Yelp). Unisex restrooms. Service - Good, but had to ask for "everything" which they brought to us with no issues. Forks, ginger & wasabi, extra frosted glass, water refill, etc. All 3 team members were good. Price - $46 + tip. Reasonably priced, normally I would have ordered an extra sushi roll ($15 more), but again, due to my late lunch and being a light eater, I just could not eat any more. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for the last 3 years. Looking forward to sharing this experience with my friends on my next visit.

This was our second visit here. We stopped by for some late night eats. Husband wanted Izakaya and this spot came to mind. We were greeted and seated quickly. Love the vibe of this place. They have a good decent size menu. They have a service button to alert when you are ready to order. We ordered Chicken Katsu, 2 different orders of the crispy rice, agedashi tofu, pork jowl skewers, blue crab fried rice, fried oyster and shishito peppers. we def ordered more food then we expected lol Food came out fairly quick. Everything was delicious- the blue crab fried rice was the star and the sauce that came with the pork jowl skewers were good. The shishito peppers was on the spicier side- whew my nose was running lol. The agedashi wasn't served with the normal soft tofu and it was lacking salt. Our son killed his chicken katsu. The fried oyster was good too! Overall, we enjoyed everything. Definitely a spot worth trying!

Kakuni (Simmered Pork Belly)

One of our go-to spots for solid food! It's not super authentic, but good quality and great prices. The service is also spot on. I especially love when tables have the bell to call your server because it just makes everything easier. We always order the udon and the chicken Karaage for our kids and they never disappoint. Both my kids will eat their entire dishes so these are 2 things we always get. I'm also a huge fan of their its izakaya roll and bonus! it's included (along with many other sushi items) in their 20% deal mon-thur from open to 9pm. Everything else we've tried has ranged from good-great (luckily nothing bad), so you really can't go wrong. The space is good and love that there are tons of booth seating. The only point I might make is that their light fixtures could use some dusting lol.

Sashimi Combo (Large)

A must-go-to Izakaya when you're in Las Vegas! (Visited while on vacation) Pretty much everything we ate was delicious and reasonably priced. If you're into sushi, I would highly recommend the sashimi combo and the sushi tacos (especially the Negitoro taco). The sushi tacos were large with a very generous amount of fish, not just rice. Wasn't able to get a picture of the tacos because we were so hungry and it just that good! The staff were very friendly and attentive. I really like the ambiance of the restaurant as it has a modern and traditional Japanese-feel at the same time. Parking is convenient and right in front. Really appreciated that they're open late so we were able to dine after our night out downtown.

Beef tongue
Vincent T.

One of the better bang for your buck izakaya places out there, especially if you come within happy hour (20% off sushi/sashimi). Sashimi is fresh. Miso black cod cooked very well. Beef tongue nice and tender. The biggest complaint is that the whole restaurant smelled like sewage. Kinda unfortunate and probably out of their control but it definitely hurt my appetite.

Chiqui A.

I wasn't that hungry just want something small and quick. skewers ordered: grilled pork belly grilled zucchini grilled eggplant and steak with beansprouts Everything was yummy. Dylan was great! Good place for people on keto diet. Cute surroundings and very unique serving of foods.

Sara D.

I would come back for their HH sushi but not for their yakitori. It was actually kinda disappointing that sushi was way better than their yakitori. Beef tongue was super chewy and their pork belly was not tasty.

Mary S.

Amazing!! We were super hungry at 11:30 pm and saw that they were opened at 2am which is awesome. We got in and seated right away. Amazing place and ambience. The food is so good with great prices. Staff were nice as well. The fish were super fresh and absolutely delicious. Everything was so good. What I didn't like was the sweet dango. Definitely but okay. When we're in Vegas we will definitely come back.

It's not often we find ourselves near Chinatown late at night, but we were out late and hungry and stumbled across this place on Yelp. Worth the stop in for sure! The menu is sizable, the food quality is great, and prices are reasonable. Service is prompt and friendly. Very much a no-frills quality late night meal spot. The gyoza were great, tempura was fantastic (asparagus, eggplant, carrot, onion, and shrimp on a bed of rice) and the chicken fried rice (not pictured) was loaded with chicken and tasty. California roll was solid too. I suggest stopping in if you are in the mood for a large variety of options, good food, and reasonable prices.

Becca W.

This was our first visit, and we found it through Yelp's 4.7 star rating (always trust fellow Yelpers!). We decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. We were here early, so the restaurant was quite empty, perfect for some quiet time to really enjoy the food. The décor stood out right away, with colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, which added a fun touch. Our server was friendly and attentive, making great recommendations since it was our first time here. We ordered the Large Sashimi Combo, Uni Sashimi, Ikayaki, Uni Pasta, Skewers Combo, and Black Sesame Pudding. OMG, everything was delicious! The sashimi was especially fresh and flavorful, and the combo was the star of the night. We've already decided to come back on our next Vegas trip. The menu has so much more to explore, and we can't wait to try more dishes!

Nette B.

Been here a few times. There's parking around the area. On a Saturday night, the parking lot was busy. We've never had to wait for a table which is perfect. Service is always good. Friendly staff and great menu selections. Food: Pork Jowl Spicy Tuna Roll Agedashi Tofu Shrimp Tempura Hamburger and Egg Steak I personally did not like the flavor / taste of the spicy tuna roll. I did however enjoy everything else. The shrimp Tempura was a bit small in size but glad they gave us 4 instead of 3. I enjoyed the salted jowl. Overall, great spot for late night dining.

For the price, it's not comparable elsewhere! Our favorites were definitely the corn ribs and fried mushrooms. The corn ribs had a miso glaze on it that was both sweet and savory. We loved it so much, we got seconds! As for someone who doesn't like mushrooms, I actually enjoyed how thin and fried their fried mushrooms were. Who would've thought I'd have a change of heart! I don't think they are usually this busy though, as they were definitely understaffed that evening. Service was consistent throughout the night, and the servers were cheerful and doing their best to take care of everyone. The restaurants design is very relaxed, with some optional bar seating to watch the chefs cook and roast the skewers, with additional options for booths. After 10 PM, they offer a happy hour special with $5 hand rolls, cheap drinks, and basically half off of all their skewers, potatoes, and small bites. On the particular evening that we went, either they were extra busy and had too much customers from CES... but they ran out of sushi rice and did not have any hand rolls....How does a Japanese restaurant run out of rice??? We were super disappointed and ended up just getting skewers. Itzakaya Tora, you definitely need to step up your game and have better management in the future for these big events. I don't think they are that new of a restaurant, but they definitely let me down. Chicken and pork skewers ($2 per skewer, 7/10) - super juicy! You can definitely taste the charcoal and barbecue flavor. They do a great job of keeping each skewer, moist and juicy, that I didn't feel like I was eating burnt skewers like you get at some other restaurants. - $2 per skewer is pretty good for the happy hour deal, but I think it's much more expensive during the regular menu option. Don't think it would be particularly worth it with their regular menu. Overall, super disappointed that they didn't have any more of their sushi, rice and best do not have any $5 hand rolls during their happy hour. Also, the wait was super long to get in, and they were definitely understaffed. If they had all their food selections available, this would probably be a higher rating, but the long weight and lack of menu items was super disappointing.

It has a warm ambient glow that makes the whole place feel intimate, but noise levels can be a bit high due to the close proximity of the tables and lack of noise buffer. Their drink menu is also creative, with unique cocktails and seasonal specials worth exploring. We tried a bunch of different food items: Takoyaki balls: the BEST balls ever! And that's saying a lot because we've been to Japan ! Takoyaki itself is a classic Osaka street food, traditionally made with diced octopus in a savory batter cooked in molded griddles. Here at Hachi, these takoyaki balls are crispy on the outside with a soft center, sitting abed a rich mayo-based sauce. What makes these stand out is the contrast with the balls of delicious and, instead of a fully liquid sauce, there are small chunks of cream cheese blended in, so you have bites of that with the battered balls! Agedashi Tofu: Lightly fried tofu served in a delicate dashi broth. The exterior is soft with a bit of crisp, while the inside stays silky and custard-like. The broth is clean and, if I dare say, savory but light. Basically a punch of umami and extremely balanced! Karaage: They are known for their chicken karaage, and it absolutely delivers. The chicken lightly coated and fried until golden and crisp while staying incredibly juicy inside. Each bite has a satisfying crunch followed by tender, flavorful meat! I highly recommend pairing it with the negi sauce, which delivers a a tangy vinegar-based scallion sauce that cuts through the fat and oils, and it deeply enhances the flavor of the chicken. Yakitori Skewers: Yakitori is a traditional Japanese grilling style where small skewers of meat are cooked over charcoal. The focus is on simple flavors utilizing high-quality ingredients. We tried a mix of skewers, which comes with a slice of lemon on top to be squeezed over the skewers: * Wagyu skewers: rich, buttery, and cooked to perfection * Beef tongue: more chewy and textured, so not a huge fan of it * Chicken skin: ultra crispy with rendered fat and a satisfying crunch * Pork belly with green onions: fatty, smoky, and balanced by the freshness of scallions We also ordered a fresh scallop skewer, grilled shrimp with tartar sauce, and eel. The scallops were sweet and tender with 3 pieces per skewer. The shrimp was cooked and de-shelled and served with a tartar sauce. The eel was the most memorable with its rich, tender, and deeply savory taste. Eel (unagi) is considered a delicacy in Japanese cuisine where it's known for its sweet glaze and soft texture. Our favorites were definitely the eel and scallop skewers.

I calmly explained that I had just called and was specifically told we could come directly and that our table could be held. We spent almost $190 for two people, and no customer spending that kind of money should ever be treated this way. Her behavior completely ruined the experience for us. Because of the way she treated us, I will never come back or recommend this place to anyone. Management seriously needs to do something about the front desk staff.

Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted.
