Great customer service, friendly, professional, and patient. Allowed us to try samples. A lot of options. Would def give this place a try you won't be disappointed. Very flavorful and fresh. Soooo good
Stopped in for a sweet treat and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was! There was a great variety of flavors to choose from, and the whole place smelled amazing thanks to the fresh handmade waffle cones. We did have to wait a little while because of the line, but it was easy to see why it's so popular. The wait was worth it, and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. They're seating right outside, which was the perfect way to end our night. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors. Bonus points for the convenient parking in the SALT at Our Kakaʻako parking structure nearby!
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Craved a sweet treat after lunch. Walked over to 7Gradi. The guy who helped us was amazing and encouraged us to try different flavors. We got the biscoff, ube, and mango passion fruit, which were all delicious. The biscoff was my personal fave. I also got to sample the strawberry, which was very refreshing. We enjoyed our gelato on the communal tables outside of the shop. This place had good gelato and great service and I definitely recommend!
7gradi is the perfect way to end the night after grabbing dinner at one of the neighboring eateries! I love the light and airy texture of their gelato and all the unique flavors. Rice has always been my favorite because of its slightly sweet and plain flavor. I also got the biscoff, and it tasted just like the cookie! Service here is friendly and quick. There's lots of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your ice cream. Just want to add that the new parking system here sucks. The QR codes are confusing, especially if you don't know how long you're going to stay for. It's also way more expensive than before. I used to love coming to all the places in SALT because it was convenient and parking was cheap. I cannot say that's the case anymore. Other than the parking, this is the perfect spot for a sweet treat!
Dropped by to try this gelato place and I'm glad we did. They have classic flavors, but everything tasted really good. I got the green apple and peach mango combo -- super refreshing, especially on a humid day. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Definitely a nice treat to cool down with. Will definitely come back for it.
I have to admit - gelato isn't always my sort of thing. While I certainly enjoy it, it doesn't hit the same for me as a more classic scoop of ice cream does. However, after my friends suggested grabbing some gelato at 7Gradi after lunch, I couldn't say no. For one, I was intrigued by what types of interesting flavors and concoctions we might find, but also because a nice, cold dessert is always a fantastic decision on such a warm day! Although it may not be tucked away in some corner of the complex, 7Gradi is somewhat easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Not hard to see why given how there's just enough space inside for a half dozen or so folks to order/pay. Similarly, the menu isn't very extensive either, but they still have a solid mix of about fourteen different flavors, as well as a few flavors of waffles to go with your scoop(s). Also, even though they may not have any seating of their own to offer, there are a bunch of tables right outside with umbrellas that provide some shade, too! -- PEACH MANGO Of the two, I thought this one was far better. The flavor of both the peach and the mango was strong yet neither overwhelmed the other (or my other flavor). Plus, I loved how smooth and silky the gelato was (even smoother and silkier than other gelatos I've had). -- BANANA CREAM Not too shabby, but this was more solid than spectacular. While the consistency of this one was just as smooth, the flavor wasn't quite as remarkable. Mostly, the taste of the banana felt a little muted and, for some reason, it tasted more like banana than banana cream. With regards to the service here, after reading multiple reviews about what others have experienced, it seems as though it can range from great to seriously lacking. Thankfully for us, it seems as though we got lucky and ended up coming on a good day - not only was the girl who helped us really friendly, but she was also super patient, helping us to sample multiple flavors before we eventually got about a half dozen orders. That being said, between the steady flow stream of customers that were stopping in and how she seemed to be the only one working, I wonder if understaffing could have something to do with it. Since this is the only gelato shop I've been to in Honolulu, I can't say how 7Gradi compares to others, but they feel like a pretty decent option. Plus, it's great how unique some of their flavors are, like Mascarpone Oreo and Farm Cheese, and how their offerings change with the seasons. I'd still prefer to get some shaved ice or perhaps a scoop of classic ice cream instead of gelato, but the next time I'm here at the SALT complex, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back again. All in all, THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded up.
Won a gift card at the Pinch of SALT event yesterday. Stopped by to redeem it since I'm in the area. We walked around in circles in the drizzling rain coz we missed the sign (smh). It's located across from Kahala and next to Lonohana Chocolate (as of Dec 2025). It's a little grab-and-go gelateria. The gelatos are in individual mixers. It's a pretty big variety of flavors with familiars (mint chocolate, chocolate, red velvet) and unfamiliar (rice, tangerine, green apple) etc. i had my mind set on mango yogurt and maybe lilikoi lemon but i decided to sample rice. It tastes nothing like cooked white rice haha and more like sweet cream. So I got that and tangerine. I really like the tangerine! $6.75 for a cup of up to two flavors. You can sample up to two flavors as well. You can add toppings for 50 cents per. The girl working today is friendly and welcoming. There are covered tables and seats in the courtyard area outside for folks to enjoy their gelatos. (And the umbrella coverage is sufficient enough to keep the chairs dry-- great design!)
Another 7gradi visit that didn't disappoint! I love how fresh and fragrant their vegan fruity flavors are. This time I got single cup with half raspberry dark chocolate chips and tangerine. Both vegan, both delicious, and unfortunately they were so good I inhaled my gelato in .25seconds. My only ask is can we PLEASE have some more savory vegan options? My favorite is always the vegan dark chocolate gelato and I would be ever so grateful if that was always on the menu
Cute little gelato place at SALT Kakaako! Love their flavors, especially the rice and ube combination! Lots of seating outside too, and they sell pints if you want to take some home.
I came here for dessert on a Saturday evening after a nice dinner at Lani Sot upstairs. 7gradi has a rotating mix of 14 flavors all of which are a great mix of sweet, tart, or a combo of both. They also sell containers in a small freezer near the register. I got the single scoop with two flavors and selected Oreo mascarpone and toasted marshmallow. I appreciate that they offer 2 samples each since there are so many intriguing options. My daughter got ube and toasted marshmallow, my sister got biscoff and toasted marshmallow, and my husband got mango yogurt and ube. Everyone really liked theirs flavors. The toasted marshmallow was really subtle and unique and pairs well with bold flavors. It's so creamy and melts quickly so have your table picked out or begin eating immediately. Overall taste was really good and there are so many other flavors I would like to try next. Would also like to try their waffles. I've read people have had both excellent service and not so excellent. Unfortunately ours fell on the not so friendly side that night, but it's end of the night and the service industry is not easy so I get it. It would not deter me from trying again.
Gradi proves gelato doesn't need to be heavy to be unforgettable. I went with the tangerine and strawberry sorbets and they were next-level, smooth, refreshing, and packed with pure fruit flavor. No fake sweetness here, just sunshine in a cup. The shop is small and chic, and the display case is a full-on rainbow of temptation. Every color calls your name, and it's basically impossible to choose wrong. Huge bonus: tons of dairy-free options. Sorbet isn't an afterthought here, it's a headliner. If you're plant-based or lactose-sensitive, you'll feel spoiled instead of settling. 7 Gradi is a happy little spot with big flavor. Pro tip: just point to the color that vibes with you and go for it. It's so fruity and fresh it should probably count as your daily serving of fruit.
I've never had such a smooth, flavorful gelato in Honolulu until I tried 7Gradi Gelato. They're always changing their flavor lineup that's filled with unique flavors like Rice, Toasted Marshmallow (my favorite!), Guava Yogurt, and more. I got their Strawberry flavor, which is surprisingly refreshing, not too sweet, and very light. They also have sweet waffles that you can get with your gelato. Vibe: The workers are always very friendly. There's lots of outdoor seating and they have a small cooler on the side of the restaurant where you can purchase pints of gelato to take home. Parking: SALT Kakaʻako offers free parking in their parking structure for the first hour (no validation) and paid parking with validation for parking longer than one hour.
The gelato is creamy and delicious! Every flavor was so yummy! The girl working alone in the shop was cheerful and sweet as she gave us samples of our choice to try. I had a hard time choosing but settled on biscoff and cheescake. The flavors worked well together. The biscoff was subtle and not overwhelming. I can't wait to come back to try more!

Been there a few time and I come back because the gelato flavors are amazing! But today it was different, the person working today was outstanding!!! Her name was Tina, she offered me and other guests, taste tests and parking validation!!! Is this normal?! Should it be? Idk but I can say I was there this past Saturday, around the same time...roughly 2-3pm, and that younger worker was in a rush and couldn't wait to close the doors...(I would infer for a break because they work alone) and she just rushed everyone out...she didn't greet and didn't even smile. She gave me a total, no thank you and off to next person. Barely said a word. But not surprising many places are like that nowdays. Been there maybe a total of 4 other times and not once was I offered validation. I've always had to ask. So if that's the new norm of customer service, I don't even bother with a review...even if the food is good. Today what a total different experience!!!! Wow!! Outstanding friendly customer service! It was a really nice change! She even explained french waffles and the take home pints, of course I bought some and she wrapped it well!!! It came home perfectly and I traveled to Ewa. Overall, gelato is great! But add great customer service and you get a happy family and happy day! read more
This is the second time I've been to 7Gradi and i love it even more than I did the first time! This time around, we came as a party of 5 at around 8:30P and as usual, it was busy but lively and EFFICIENT! Right away; we were greeted with the friendly servers, and they didn't fail to offer the best recommendations for flavors. Our party got single scoops with Strawberry & Mango, Matcha & Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate, Ube & Strawberry Cheesecake, and Oreo Marscapone & Toasted Marshmallow. All of the combinations were HEAVENLY and my favorite combinations were definitely the Matcha & Strawberry Cheesecake and Strawberry & Mango! All of it was so creamy and literally the most perfect texture, and it's always such a great time eating ice cream every time I come here because the outdoor seating is also such a nice and calming vibe in the evening. There's a parking garage and also a lot that has ample parking for the SALT shopping center. Definitely give 7Gradi a try if you're around the area! I promise it'll be worth it :) read more
This gelato is really GOOD. Probably one of the few places in Hawaii that has more authentic gelato - like the one you find in Italy. It's been so long I tasted gelato as good as I remember when I was in Italy. Gelato is one of my favorite desserts and I'm always a happy camper when I find one that is worthy! We got the 2 scoop for around $6. Mascarpone Oreo and Yuzu Ginger were divine - so creamy and delicious. I used to pass this all the time since I hang out at SALT quite often. I was always too full after dinner to get dessert but I couldn't resist this time! So glad because it ended up being the highlight of the night :) Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend! read more
One of my favorite gelato spots on the island -- 7Gradi is located in SALT in Kakaako with garage and street parking. The gelato is yummy and the waffles are too. The flavors are a good amount of sweet with a greater depth of flavor than a lot of other gelatos that I've had. The space is tiny but it's a good treat to walk around SALT with. The service has been fast and they've been kind each time we've been. We hope this place sticks around SALT for a while! read more

Wanted dessert after having lunch at Highway inn, so we came right around the corner from Highway inn to find this little gelato shop, located in Salt Kaka'ako near boiling crab, across from Vein. As I walked in, she got up fast to greet, she was helpful, but could use a little more enthusiasm or friendliness or smiles :) Asked her what the popular flavors were, and she said mascarpone Oreo, ube, and toasted marshmallow. First, you should figure out if you want just ice cream or ice cream and waffle. Yes, they have a gelato waffle combo. For single cup, you can choose up to 2 flavors, and the double cup, you can choose up to 3 flavors. I ended up doing a single cup with waffle combo. I chose the mascarpone Oreo, ube, and plain waffle. Waffle choices were plain, cinnamon, and cocoa. And the wife got a double with the 3 recommended flavors lol, Oreo, ube, and toasted marshmallow. Came out to just about 20 bucks, 19 something, plus 3 dollar something tip, 23.69. The gelato was good, but it melted fast. It was a hot summer day tho. And the waffle, didn't taste like a waffle. Wife said tasted stale, I thought it tasted like a croissant like. It was a nice, cute, clean, small, convenient, gelato shop. Would we come here again? Probably not. Maybe? Maybe not. Was good to try, convenient since we just had to walk around the corner after having lunch, and a nice treat on a nice hot day. Go check em out. Everybody has different opinions. read more

This place is amazing! I love how they have set flavors that you can always expect but rotating flavors to keep things fresh. We always wait for the riso (rice) flavor, it tastes like a mild white rabbit. The texture is creamy, soft, with a nice stretch (xantham?) They are generous with their portions and I've been able to share the single scoop. The single scoop allows you to try 2 flavors. This is a mandatory stop when we are at Kakaako and hope others can try it too. Tip: They also provide parking validation for Salt, just ask after you pay. read more
Authentic gelato in Hawaii?! Yes, please! I've had this place bookmarked pretty much since they opened! I finally got to try it yesterday and it did not disappoint! There was line out the door when I arrived so I waited until the line died down. There were around 12 flavors available and it was so hard to pick what we wanted! A single is a small cup and includes 2 flavors for ~$6 and a double is in a bigger cup and includes up to 3 flavors for ~$8. We decided to get 2 singles. Here's what we got: I got Mascarpone Oreo and Ube. Both flavors were sooo good and went well together. They were suuuper creamy. The Oreo had lots of tiny bits of Oreo cookie and the ube was spot on! Very strong ube (not Okinawan sweet potato) flavor. My hubby got Strawberry & Li Hing Watermelon. They were both sorbets. The strawberry tasted like fresh strawberries but the li hing watermelon was his favorite. It wasn't what I expected. It tasted exactly like the li hing watermelon gummies! The ones that are shaped like watermelon slices. It was sour and sweet all at the same time! I believe the menu changes every so often so follow them on social media for their flavor list! We'll definitely be back whenever we're in the area! read more
Located within salt, it's surrounded by so many restaurants but not desserts. Which is ideal for them. Great service, very nice. Clean and cute, small. They have 18 flavors, a decent variety. I didn't like that they didn't have many flavors that I personally care for, but it's okay. They had coffee, which I do like. But, it was bitter. I got the small with coffee and strawberry, since the small comes with 2 flavors. Bitter coffee and extremely tart strawberry. It tasted more like raspberry. Cost is decent, just wish the flavors were better. read more
Could have sworn this place used to be called butterfly. The flavors offered were all so enticing, the cashier was very gracious and let me try a few flavors since it was hard for me to decide. I got the tangerine and pink grapefruit both sour love it! Grab and go place and I let my hubby taste the flavors even though he said he didn't want any. I liked that it was creamy but don't feel unhealthy. Still want to try other flavors when I return. read more
i am actually obsessed with this gelato shop and went here 3 times on my 5-day trip to honolulu. the flavors are plentiful, unique, and delicious. i've never had sorbet that tastes as good as gelato. the dark chocolate is rich, as are the fruity flavors, and pair really well with the more creamy gelatos like marshmallow biscoff. guava yogurt was another favorite. one caveat is some flavors take time to make. read more

7Gradi Gelato is strategically placed across Vein in Kaka'ako. The staff are really nice and they give you free samples. We all had different flavors but I opted for the ube and banana cream. Super delicious! Have a seat outside where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle at SALT. read more

Perfect place to stop by after having dinner at a close by restaurant. I got the marshmallo gelato, it melted quite fast, but it was delicious, not as sweet as it would seem so it was perfect. Super creamy. Cute clean place. Fast friendly service, Located in Salt, great to grab a cup and browse around, check-out the other businesses. read more
Quaint spot. Super fast and friendly service. I always enjoy the unique flavors offered by Hawaii in general, so their unique ice cream flavors. I especially enjoy them the ube and riso! Together they made the perfect creamy combination! We sat right outside and enjoyed the breeze. Street parking was not too hard to find but it also was midday. I'd love to visit and try more flavors! read more
I stopped by to get a cup of gelato while waiting on my plate lunches from Pioneer Saloon. This place is know for their gelato and waffles. I've never tried their waffles, but their gelato is really good. They have fourteen flavors to choose from such as tiramisu, mascarpone Oreo and ube. I purchased the two flavors in a cup for $5.40. They also have three flavors in a cup for $7.40. I got the peach mango sorbet and pineapple yogurt. Both flavors were delicious. It wasn't too sweet and it wasn't too tangy. The mixture was perfect. I'll be back to try other flavors or just to get these two. I'm a creature of habit. read more
the best gelato I've had!! the servers are so friendly and they let you sample before you decide. Me and my friends each got the single, which lets you pick 2 flavors in case you're indecisive like us. I got the melon and guava yogurt, since a couple flavors were still not ready yet. There's plenty of seats outside as well either in front or around the sal read more
After our last hurrah at Hank's Haute Dogs we wanted a cool, sweet treat. We stepped into 7Gradi Gelato and were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member. I sampled the yuzu ginger and really liked the yuzu flavor, but am not a big ginger fan so I opted for a single serving of riso (rice) and guava yogurt. Both flavors were light and refreshing and I enjoyed them. The shop is cute and there are tables outside to sit and eat at. read more
Being lactose intolerant I do not seek out ice cream or gelato, but when my my company does I must find alternatives. I was happy to see that this place had more than 3 sorbet options! Their flavors are interesting and different from the usual, but you can also get standards like strawberry and orange. If you're indecisive or curious and want to try more than one flavor, they can scoop two into one cup. My friend took the server's recommendation and got the pineapple yogurt and rice gelato. The yogurt had a nice tang to it and was balanced by the rice which was like a vanilla without the vanilla bean flavor. I got the dark chocolate, which was like a dark chocolate pudding, and the pink grapefruit sorbet which captured the essence of the grapefruit. Smooth and refreshing, you need to eat it right away before it melts. They also serve waffles. This is a nice place to have a sweet treat after you eat at SALT. There are tables outside where you can dog and people watch while you eat read more

Decent gelato not too chewy not too soft! Still one of better options on island since there's not many good gelato place here They change flavors often based on season as well read more
Saw this gelato spot after we ate dinner, and was craving for something sweet so we stopped in here. The two young ladies were nice and greeted us upon entrance. We took a look at the flavors, and they had many options. Didn't know which one to get, but the girls were nice and told us which flavors were popular. We got the Oreo one. Then also saw the waffles, and got the classic one. We ended up bringing it home to share with our kids but ate it the next night since they fell asleep. When we finally got a chance to eat our dessert, the waffle was still crispy, even after being in the fridge. It went so well with our gelato. The Oreo flavor was a great choice! The flavor was subtle and not too sweet or overwhelming. The waffle itself made it a good combo, and balanced the sweetness and crisp. Really enjoyed our late dessert! Definitely wanting to stop by again soon for some more!!! read more
YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY. We did not plan on getting gelato today but here we are! They had such good flavors today that it was so hard to choose but we decided to get pumpkin pie, blissberry cheesecake, Ube, and cherry marscapone and WOW. Smooth, super creamy, utterly delicious gelato. I could easily argue that this was probably some of the better gelato I've had in my life. Nothing was overly sweet, the flavors were bursting and forward. I never had to guess what it was and there were no "hints" of flavor. What you ordered is what you got which I liked. Service was great and the prices are very reasonable and well worth it. Lots of patio seating outside and best of all: military discount. Can't wait to come back. read more

THIS IS SO GOOD! We met a friend at Hank's Haute Dogs for dinner after recently moving to Hawaii. He mentioned this was around the corner, and despite being quite full we decided to check it out. I wasn't planning on getting anything for myself, but after seeing the flavors I caved and had to go for the Ube and the Chocolate Coconut. Absolutely worth it. The flavors were great but the texture of the gelato was SO creamy and pleasant. It's in a really awesome little area with a handful of restaurants, a chocolate store, outdoor seating, and even live music while we were visiting. Really a great stop, and we will be back to check out more of their flavor offerings. read more

I went a little later on a Friday night, around 8 pm. It was still a bit busy inside the store. In here, they allow only two samples. Made it hard to choose what to sample, as there are lots of unique flavors. When asking for samples, the staff were pretty rude. Maybe because it was crowded and samples are annoying, but it made us feel unwelcome. Overall, I really liked the gelato, I got Oreo marscapone and chai latte. Also keep in mind, it's an all cash store and it's displayed all over. But there's tap to pay as well (that they don't mention). The chai latte was my favorite. I just wish the staff could have been more kind. read more
7Gradi is a pretty good ice cream stop in SALT. They have a good selection of flavors and quick service. They allow sampling, so if you're indecisive like me you can try a lot of flavors before picking one! I always like the rice flavor, which sounds a little strange but is refreshing and not too sweet. The ice cream isn't mind blowing, but it's a good after dinner snack and I appreciate the unique flavor variety. There's plenty of outdoor seating around the area, but it can get busy on popular nights. The SALT complex has a connected parking garage and all businesses will validate, and there's lots of metered street parking in the area. read more

Having only been around for under a year, 7gradi has already become my favorite gelato place on the island. When I studied abroad in Italy, our Italian profesllsors always told us the real stuff was when the gelato was flat in the case. 7gradi hits the mark for being a twist on authentic gelato with local and American flavors. Compared to a lot of gelato I had, you can definitely tell it's not ice cream with how dense it is and rich. The flavors always come through strong and the texture is creamy and dense. Always looking forward to what flavors they have next. read more

Their gelato is always top-notch - I got the Oreo Mascarpone last I was here and Blueberry the time prior, and adding a waffle to it always helps with both texture and taste to compliment. Stop by if you have a sweettooth and are in Kaka'ako - Miguel Morales Photography read more
Top three best Gelato hands down. They have very great tasting flavors that for a second even surprised me with how amazing it tasted. I ended up having their toasted marshmallow and Oreo flavors both were phenomenal. At this place there is honestly no wrong choice. Also if questioning how something will taste feel free to ask for samples they are more then happy to help you find something you'll enjoy. Atmosphere is great and although parking may be hard to find they do have a paid parking lot but if you do end up getting lucky with street parking that way to me works out best. All in all if in the mood for something sweet and somewhat healthy look no further 7 Gradi Gelato will do you good. read more

It's like shave ice but appropriate for night time and softer! Wow this place took me by surprise in a good way and it's absolutely delicious. The ice is SO soft and I love these Hawaii flavors. I ended up getting Peach Mango & Li Hing Mui Pineapple. The workers were really friendly and helped me decide what to get. They offered samples and were very patient with my touristy butt lol. A cup was sufficient for me on a Wednesday night and it fulfilled my dessert craving. What I love about this in particular is that it's not HEAVY. It's soft, still flavorful but not so sweet and strong that it's just sitting in your stomach. Since it is in the heart of the SALT area, they had tables and seating areas right outside in front so perfect way to end the night. Definitely recommend. read more

Been here a few times with friends and family while in the area. Walked in tonight after seeing their line up of flavors changed and was so excited to try the yogurt flavor. I usually love the one offered at the Nordstrom gelato bar and wanted to see how this one held up. Gotta say, the price is a little steep but they don't skimp on the serving. The employee carefully scooped up the flavors I wanted to be presentable. Maybe... a little too presentable? Both flavors were great. The matcha was a little bitter in after taste but that doesn't bother me much as quality matcha can have a similar finish. What I like about this shop is that they're pet friendly. I'd give them a follow on their socials if you like seeing pups chow on some of their safe flavors and their most recent flavors. read more

Is this dairy free?? I bought the dark chocolate yesterday and need to know for a person sensitive to dairy?
Unless it's marked as dairy free or sorbet, assume it's diary based. While there are dairy free desserts styled like gelatos, real gelato can't be dairy free. My friend asked and the staff also stated only the sorbets are dairy free.
