I am a rideshare driver who drives nights and has stopped at hundreds of 7 eleven stores. This store, number 19223, located at 9701 Carmel Mountain Road, is easily the cleanest, most well organized and friendliest 7 Eleven I have ever shopped at. The items on the shelves are meticulously aligned and fully stocked- and even the countertop items such as the fruit pies and bananas are each beautifully lined up and presented. Most employees here are great. But Mike an older man is an absolute jerk. Today specifically he said" youve heard of an app right, everyone uses them these days" in response to me asking a question about the app. I dont appreciate him trying to make me feel like an idiot for asking a simple question. Moreover he didn't check my ID when i was buying alcohol. This location is next to a high school and i doubt he checks everyone if he doesnt check me . In the past he called me a man several times and each time i had to correct him. He was never apologetic. He always acts like he is gonna bust out laughing in my face at any moment. Used to frequent this location for decades. Came here for cigarette runs for my pops and lotto as well as big gulps and slurpees. This spot is always clean, never too busy and the candy/snacks are never stale. Having cashed out a few winners over the years, this is my favorite store. read more

I have to say, they had quite the squeaky clean Red Box out in front, but that was not my reason for a visit. I came in for a few items, like a 32 oz unsweetened iced tea for .99 cents, a .99 cent bag of Jalapeno Cheetos, and a Supper Lotto ticket. I first quickly served myself my iced tea and then went looking for my Cheetos. They were not in the chip and snack aisle, but below and in front of the cashier counter. After, asking for the cashier to run my Super Lotto, I payed and left without a hitch. The employee at the counter was experience and I could tell she has been working there a while. A tip with iced tea, is to make sure you take a sip before you completely fill you cup, to make sure it's to your liking. I've run into a few bad apples, but usually the tea is on point. This particular 7-Eleven has the Red Box I mentioned, that terrific Coffee Island most 7-Elvens host, and a Coop ATM. The store was well kept and clean throughout, at the time of my visit, and oh yes, of course they have Slurpees. Nice 7-Eleven. read more

My local 7-Eleven... a.k.a. my go-to spot for RedBox movies, random sugar cravings, and late-night beer runs. I usually see the same three guys in rotation behind the counter. They won't strike up a conversation with you, but they are all very kind. RedBox machine outside the door. ATM inside. Merchandise is slightly overpriced, but hey- they're 24 hours. They also sell painkillers, razors, shaving cream, etc... random little things that you might find yourself needing at 3 in the morning. Beer selection is limited. They do sell Stone beer though, which is a plus. read more

Tucked away in a slightly grimy strip mall, with a dirty store front, this place is a surprise on the inside, clean and well lit. All the shelves are stocked and the staff are kind and helpful, it is a popular spot for late night food and drink run in the PQ area. Love the new management of this store. It's cleaner and well managed. I love they greet you when you walk in the door. It's like a small town convenient store where everyone says hi. I love that they actually celebrate family and are closed on Christmas. They put family above profit on Christmas Day! I grew up with this store, literally, next door. I worked for the previous owners in the months before they sold it to the current owners, in fact I was one of the first employees the new owners talked to about buying the place and shared my love of the store and community to them with the greatest hopes they would buy it. The previous owners treated the store like a beat up old car unworthy of even a demolition derby, and just wanted to get rid of it and focus on their other store in Mira Mesa that was bigger and made more money, they let me go before the new owners took over so the lady who worked there in the mornings could keep her job longer. I have since been rehired by the new owners who are truly great people, they work very hard for their families, their customers and their employees, they also own another store in Del Mar that is much busier and larger but they don't treat this store as the "lost cause" John and Linda did, sales are up by a landslide, because they have made an effort to change all of the things wrong with the store that was bringing it down before, lazy employees, thefts, dirty environment, cold and old coffee, they've gotten rid of the employees that weren't good for the store and kept or brought back those who are good and I personally couldn't be happier. If you've previously written this store off, please co!e back and see the positive changes that have been made, and there are a couple of us who some may remember if not from working here then from around the community. I love how nearly every day I work at this store I see at least one familiar face from when I went to My Carmel High School, and am still friends with today (we'll not say how many years later but it's a lot) and then there's other days when I see someone I haven't seen in years or since I worked for the old owners, and they are genuinely so happy to see me as I them it feels great all the way around. We now offer some really great food that we can prepare for you any time of the day, I gotta say, honestly, the new hamburgers are SUPER TASTY! The pizza oven makes a pizza in under 3 minutes and it's delish, the big bite got dogs are fantastic and the chili and cheese to put on top is hot and fresh and grab some extra napkins cause it can get messy! AND we have fresh sandwiches both cold and if you want we will gladly toast them for you, and grab a cup of the fresh fruit or a couple bananas to add some healthy to munchie! We now accept EBT for payment, and you can pay numerous bills here from child support to phone or car payments, now if only we could make the parking lot a little less crazy to maneuver we would be perfect, but come in and see us and give us another shot if you've walked away or been misinformed. I don't want to put down this particular 7-11, but I do want everyone to know that the night employee, DAN, was incredibly racist and discriminatory towards lower -income families and races other than caucasian. My husband and I got a hankering for a midnight snack, so we came to this location last night to get some candy and a pint of ice cream. We witnessed another patron in the store set down a beer on the counter and turn around to go pick something else out. When he set the beer down on the counter, Dan told him to hurry up, that he "Didn't want his kind in his store" We then came up to make our purchase, two bags of candy and a pint of Ben & Jerry's. The sign on the store clearly states that they are "Now accepting EBT". Dan witnessed us attempt to pay for our candy and ice cream with our EBT card, watched us enter the pin, then stared at us. He then told us "EBT? NO, I don't accept that here." OK, so we paid with cash, no big deal. Then the other patron came up to pay for his beer, next thing you know DAN starts screaming at this other patron to get the F*** out of HIS store, That he doesn't want to see him on his shift or he will call the police. The other patron did nothing wrong! All he was trying to do was purchase a beer, and this employee made it seem like the other patron was robbing the place or something. My husband came to the defense of the other patron, trying to tell DAN that the other man had not done anything wrong. He (DAN) then started screaming at me to get the F*** out and to not come back. I then asked him for the managers name and phone number, which he would not give to me. He screamed that the manager would be back at 6:00am. My husband and the other patron told him that we would be calling the manager and that way he he treated us was uncalled for. We've been coming to this 7-11 for 20 years, Imagine how many snacks, slurpees and what-not have been purchased here throughout the years. Sorry 7-11 on Carmel Mtn. Rd.
